Limasawa is awesome. The Sunday boat trips can use some improvement especially it's when tourists would to back home and it's during Sundays when trips aren't regular.

A single trip with a double purpose. An island full of history and strange beauty of nature. For a negotiable price, hmmm at a good price I must say, you will be toured to different places. So be sure you are at a good condition to tour it all. From climbing, trekking, riding and swimming. I salute to the habal-habal drivers for they are so approachable and friendly. You are in a good hands with them.

It was a long ride from Cebu to Limasawa, but the journey was all worth it. We took a slow boat departing Cebu at 9pm bound for Hilongos, Leyte. We docked at the port of Hilongos around 3 am, and took another bus bound for Padre Burgos. Limasawa is a small island around 45 min from Padre Burgos wharf. LIMASAWA is the place where the first Christian mass was held this spreading christianity in the Philippines. LIMASAWA was derived from LIMA ASAWA meaning five Wives of the former rajah of the island when Magellan came. Actually there are many things you can do in limasawa from sea to summit. You couldn't hold your breath when you'll see the clear sea. You would think you're in a big Swimming pool. We did try cliff jumping and snorkeling at Island lagoon and wished we could stay there forever. We took time to chill at DAKDAK beach resort. And waited for the sun to set at the top of 460+ steps where the replica of the cross which Magellan first brought to island was erected. The feeling of solitude and solemnity was even heart filling and indeed a vacation everyone needs.

It was nice to see a historic place. But you can still see the damage caused by the last typhoon. Snorkelling at the lagoon was great
