One of the best B&B's we've stayed at in the last few years. The house is absolutely beautiful. Our room was quite comfortable with a recently renovated bathroom that was a step above most found in houses this old. Ashley is a fabulous host. The breakfasts are gourmet, far better than any we've ever had at a B&B. The LimeRock Inn checks all the boxes for what you expect in an upscale B&B. Note that all the poor reviews were written before Ashley took over.

We just had the most wonderful weekend at the LimeRock Inn. Ashley, the host, is a delight, the room was incredibly comfortable, and the made-to-order breakfasts were simply delicious. They even included scrumptious baked goods and fruit-yogurt compote. We loved all the details in this Queen Anne house, and the new owners have made renovations that add 21st century features while not sacrificing the historic charm. We could easily walk into town from the inn, where we visited both the Modern Art Museum and the Farnsworth Museum (which was especially fantastic -- and free on Sundays in December!). We also very much enjoyed watching the animated film "Flow" at the Strand Theatre in town -- a venue not to be missed. Dinners at 13 Oak and Cafe Rustica, and lunch at Home made this mini-vacation perfect. We've been coming to Rockland for over a decade, but this was our first stay at the LimeRock Inn, which has got to be the best bed and breakfast in Maine. We'll definitely be back!

Visiting LimeRock is like visiting another world of accommodations. Beautiful rooms, delicious breakfasts, and top-quality service await you. The atmosphere is quite warm if not quaint and perfect for a coastal getaway. Meals such as fluffy crepes and decadent parfaits are often served at breakfast, so be prepared to eat something special. All in all, of all of the hotels in Maine, choose LimeRock.||Verdict: Perfect for a fantasy lover’s vacation

Nice B&B in a historical home. The service was friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. Our room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The location was great, just a short walk to downtown shops, museums, restaurants, and waterfront. We hope to stay again on our next Rockland trip.

This house was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. I would never have thought to make lemon poppyseed pancakes, but they were phenomenal!!! The host was very friendly and helpful. I wish we had time to stay longer. This was a hidden jewel in a tiny town.

Google
Everything was lovely. The house is gorgeous, comfortable, and well appointed. Service was top notch and breakfast both mornings was delicious. They accommodated our gluten free needs happily. Location also a big plus - we walked to restaurants, the boardwalk, and the Farnsworth Museum. All in all, a delightful stay and we will definitely be back!

Google
We recently had an amazing weekend at the Limerock Inn. The rooms were great , with newly renovated bathrooms , very comfortable beds and super soft sheets . The Staff was super friendly and breakfasts were wonderful . Also a great location which allowed us to walk in and around Rockland with ease.

Google
We loved everything about LimeRock. Beautiful place and Ashley and her staff were amazing! My first B&B. I think I started at the top? Everything is right there from snacks, coffee, games and a library. Three course breakfast started our day for a beautiful drive to. Bar Harbor.

Yelp
I cannot believe what a wonderful time we had at the LimeRock Inn in Rockland. We stayed at the inn in the first week of December and it was decorated to the hilt. It made our entire stay happier to have the beautiful Christmas trees and lots of decorations. Our rooms were large and comfortable, and the bathrooms were also quite large. Everything was SO comfortable. Ashley, the manager, was delightful and helpful. The location is in a quiet neighborhood that is just a few minutes walk to downtown Rockland, which was filled with nice places to shop, eat, drink, and even had a chocolate factory! We will definitely return. The breakfast was very nice with fresh ingredients and was filling without being overblown.

Yelp
This place was absolutely stunning. It was a last minute booking for us and it exceeded our expectations. The host was so friendly and accommodating. They served a 3 course breakfast which was delicious. We stayed in the Petite room and it was beautifully designed and the perfect size for my fiancé and I. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This must be the overall best place to stay in Rockland if you're looking for charm, hospitality, history and fair prices. The inn is a five minute walk from the heart of downtown. It was purchased last year by a young couple who have a fascinating back story. She has her master's degree from MIT and was a scientist in Boston, while he was a music engineer, traveling around the country with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and other famous bands. They tired of that life, bought the inn, and run it perfectly with their adorable five year old daughter. Our room, the Island Cottage, was romantic and endlessly charming. It had a private outdoor deck and entrance overlooking the gardens, an extremely comfortable king bed, and a luxury bath. Little touches abound, such as the Ghirardelli chocolates on the nightstand, or the Google home speaker to play music. A lot of thought went into the rooms. And best of all is the included three course breakfast. I was full after the homemade yogurt and granola followed by a blueberry crisp. But I couldn't resist the veggie omelette and some of the best bacon I've had. You could stay at a generic hotel in Rockland, but you'd be missing out on a much more personalized experience. I can't imagine the difficulty in buying an inn right before COVID times, and they're carefully following all precautions. Let's support them! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful! Wonderfully appointed. The hosts are terrific. The breakfasts were truly gourmet. They pay attention to even the tiniest detail. Don't be fooled by the rates. This is definitely a five star inn.

Yelp
LimeRock Inn Rockland, Maine This Victorian B&B was the second stop on our recent vacation in Maine. It is conveniently located a block and a half from the main street in Rockland which has many cafes and galleries and is within walking distance from the Farnsworth Art Museum. The Inn also has convenient on premises off street parking. Our room, on the first floor, was the Grand Manan. It was spacious, with a comfortable king bed, lots of windows, and ample room for hanging clothes. The appointments in our room were gorgeous. This Inn was originally the home and office of a local physician. Our room was his office. An adjacent public room was his waiting room. All of the public rooms, including the dining room, were spacious and decorated for the period of the home. Our host, Analysa could easily be a decorator in another life, if she chose to do so. She also shared valuable information about what to see and do in the Rockland-Camden area of Maine, as well as dining suggestions in and around the area. Analysa was most accommodating and her breakfasts were extraordinary, delicious and filling. One morning we met some other guests, a mother & daughter, who were traveling to the eastern most point in the US on the Maine coast, Lubec & the West Quoody Head Light House. We spent an hour talking with them that morning. The Lime Rock Inn will be on our list for our next trip to the Maine coast.

Yelp
Fantastic Inn. The owner is very personable and accommodating. The room was big for an Inn and the bathroom was huge. Plenty of A/C and hot water. Breakfast was delicious and the waitstaff excellent. I rarely write reviews but this place deserves it!

Yelp
The LimeRock Inn might be the best B&B my wife and I have ever stayed at. We were here for two nights (though it felt longer, in a good way). From the moment we entered, Frank and PJ were the consummate hosts--welcoming, professional, and fun. They've clearly been doing this long enough to master the art and the craft. The house itself is a gorgeous Victorian from the 19th century. We got a chance to try two different rooms (North Haven and Monhegan), and both were immaculate and beautifully appointed. Everything was as described and where it's supposed to be. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms and neighborhood were quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was superb, with pumpkin bread on day 1 as the highlight. Drinks and refreshments are available throughout the day and there is tons of privacy, though Frank and PJ are always available to chat and give recommendations. We would love to return here someday. This was a 10/10.

Yelp
***EASY 5 STAR REVIEW** Our stay at LimeRock Inn was outstanding! Everything was well kept and the innkeepers were so delightful! For breakfast we had a delicious 3-course meal (not pictured because we were too busy enjoying it) We stayed in the Island Cottage room and we felt like royalty in there. Everything was picture perfect!

Yelp
This is a wonderful B&B for several reasons. The house is spectacular and well kept by the owners Ashley and Daniel. They have kept it period but all the comfy touches are there. Our room was large with a great bed and nice linens. A full breakfast was very tasty. It is only two blocks from all the restaurants and shops. Our favorite restaurant, Primo, is a five minute drive! The Farnsworth museum is just a few minute walk away. We highly recommend!

Hannah U.

Yelp
Fantastic service and kind people. Very close to town, 5 minute walk to fun bars, cute cafes, great art, and all the lobster you can eat. Breakfast was amazing, fast wifi, and the rooms were adorable. There is a gazebo in the backyard that is a great spot for reading and relaxing. Would highly recommend.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
This place is cozy, beautiful and comfortable. Hosts Dan & Ashley are very welcoming and gracious. The breakfasts were awesome. They provided delicious gluten free options and worked with us to accommodate our dietary restrictions. We are already planning our next visit. Highly recommend

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Daniel and Ashley are charming hosts, who are new to the B&B game, but seem seasoned already. Upon arriving, we met Daniel and his charming young daughter, Genevieve. Daniel showed us around, and we were able to see some of the other spectacular rooms offered in the Inn. Our room was called 'Sequin' and it was clean and not too cluttered; attention to detail, impeccable: right down to the complementary chocolates. Our bed and bedding were so comfortable! The gardens and grounds were lovely...we highly recommended sitting a spell in the gazebo or relaxing awhile on the cozy porch! We had a very filling breakfast and loved the choices on the inn-keeper's menu. The Pear Balsamic Toast was truly yummy and unique. We would return to the Limerock Inn, and look forward to hearing more stories from Daniel and Ashley, as they persue their dream of running a successful inn.

Hilary H.

Yelp
Daniel and Ashley have created a wonderful environment for all to enjoy and appreciate. Daniel was so very welcoming and attentive. Every detail was carefully addressed from how clean the Inn is to our amazing breakfasts. I/we would highly recommend LimeRock!

Yelp
This was just a one night stop during our road trip through New England, but it was a memorable one. The owners are friendly, inviting, and make a mean breakfast! The location was perfect for walking into town for drinks and dinner after a long drive as well. As for accommodations, the room was cozy and clean. Bottom-line: great price, great owners, great breakfast, great location, and great accommodations. What more could you as for?!

Yelp
The Limerock Inn is THE place to stay in the Rockland area. The house and it's location are awesome, and just a very quick walk from downtown. PJ and Frank are amazing hosts, and do a wonderful job of maintaining their beautiful home for others to enjoy. The breakfasts both mornings were top notch as well! If you are staying in the Rockland area, do yourself a favor and try to get a room here! You won't regret it.

Yelp
Dan and Ashley are amazing hosts! I didn't stay there. I live nearby, however, My parents rented a room for a few days while I was getting married. I stopped in to greet my parents and Dan offered me and my wife his three course breakfast! Ashley is a photographer and she took photos of me and my parents getting ready for the wedding! Their daughter invited my daughter to play and they became quick friends. Even though I live close I'll be going back for staycations. My parents, of course, loved their host and will be going back whenever they come visit! Don't miss out on this little gem!

Yelp
I recently stayed at the LimeRock with my girlfriend on a trip to Maine in teh off season. The accommodations were first rate and the innkeepers, Frank and P.J. were wonderful hosts. Frank made us homemade scones one morning and a more basic breakfast the next, based on our likes. He also shared a slice of Pizza Rustica that he baked based on his memories of his Italian Grandmother. We stayed in the Grand Manan room, which had an over-sized tub with jacuzzi jets and a fireplace which we fully utilized. We had such a great time and we can't wait to go back. We didn't know much about Rockland itself before visiting as we were just getting away for a break, and it turned out that there was fantastic sushi in town (better than most places here in Miami), plenty of great dinners and a lovely downtown to walk through.

Mary G.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay at the LimeRock Inn. Our room was beautiful and the common area was cozy and relaxing. Our host was incredibly accommodating and made us a wonderful breakfast. We also loved that the entire downtown area was just a short walk away. We'll definitely be back if we find ourselves in Rockland again.

Ariel P.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here after our wedding. We arrived totally exhausted and un-showered from our muddy outdoor wedding and could not have asked for a better place to rest and recover. The breakfasts were so yummy and cute (fruit in martini glasses) and the hosts were welcoming and kind to us. They gave great recommendations about what to do in Rockland and we enjoyed chatting with them and their sweet 4-yr-old. We definitely recommend LimeRock Inn and Rockland for a beautiful, relaxing getaway.

Yelp
Wow, what a place! I recently stayed here with a friend during a New England road trip and we loved it. We had stayed in two other bed and breakfast places before Limerock Inn and weren't loving the idea especially the one with the bathroom down the hall. And to be honest, I'm still not a huge fan of b&b's but I really would stay here again. When we pulled up, PJ met us outside and helped up carry our luggage in. This could be due to his welcoming spirit or us being the last ones to arrive for the night :) We got the Island Cottage Room and it was great. Own bathroom with deep tub, complimentary water bottles and mints, with its own back entrance to the backyard. Wanting to keep more to ourselves than mingle with new acquaintances, this worked out perfectly. We soon headed out to walk three blocks to a bar which was pleasantly busy probably because of the Red Sox playoff game. It was nice to have a common room TV at the Limerock Inn, which we used to quietly watch SNL when we got back. Waking in the morning and reading on the porch was lovely. Breakfast was great and I really like the small round tables vs the one big table at the other b&b's. I'm still surprised the Island Cottage Room was free because it seemed like the best room. I loved Maine overall and I really liked staying here. I can't wait to be back, hopefully soon. And welcome to Yelp, Frank and PJ! Jen

Yelp
My wife and I came for our 10 year wedding anniversary on the advice of some friend and family and we were definitely not led astray. Frank and PJ were superlative hosts -- warm and inviting and very knowledgeable about the area. (We had a very loose idea about what we wanted to do while we were in town and they helped guide us on which were the worthwhile things, as well as how to fill in some of the blanks.) On top of that, the inn itself is walkable to the quaint but lively downtown area in Rockland. As far as which room: I'd recommend the Island Cottage -- it's quiet and private and well-appointed, plus a private entrance, PLUS it's right off the dining room.

Victoria C.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at the Limerock Inn. Dan and Ashley were lovely hosts, and our room, the Petite Manan, was so charming. The common areas were a welcome change of scenery as well. I loved sitting out on the gorgeously-decorated front porch. And the included breakfast was super tasty! If you're looking for a historic, charming place to stay with a vintage vibe and in a convenient location, definitely choose the Limerock. I'll certainly be back in the future.

Yelp
We just left this lovely bed breakfast after a nights stay. Could not recommend this gem more. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable and full of character. The two owners that run it were warm and welcoming making sure to take care of every detail for our accommodation. Breakfast was delicious! We could not ask more from a bed and breakfast experience and will be suggesting this place to all of our friends.

C V.

Yelp
Very sweet bed and breakfast. The room was nice and comfortable and the breakfast the next day was great! White chocolate cranberry muffins, fruit, sausage, and French toast croissant. Would definitely recommend!

Lacey B.

Yelp
We stayed in the Turret room for one night, and let me just say, it was the highlight of my entire trip. I love searching for new haunted spaces to stay in, and whether this place is legitimately haunted or not (it is... I was up all night with unseen visitors), the experience was one of a kind. The door also opened by itself while I was relieving my bladder. Eeek!! :)I loved the spookiness of the mansion and all the creaks and groans that could be heard throughout the night. No offense to Maine, but it was very difficult to find any decent food... but the food served at the inn was a pleasant surprise. Omelets, fresh berries with whipped cream, and biscuits with jam and butter. If I ever make it to the East Coast again, I will definitely pay another visit.

David L.

Yelp
Absolutely the best B&B in which we've ever stayed. Was the last destination of our ten day Maine vacation and was a gem. The home is cozy and the owners marvelous hosts. We'll be back.

Erin H.

Yelp
I have been to Rockland numerous times and every time I've gone I have passed by the Limerock and thought to myself, "One day I would like to go there". And so this passed trip my husband and I did. Economically we stayed in the cheapest room which is the Petit Mannan. It is also the smallest which didn't matter to us. We like Bed and Breakfasts for a few reasons. We like getting a wonderful full breakfast, we like meeting new people either guests or the owners and we like the shared spaces. It obviously is also adults only, no kids. So with that said, this is what I base my review on. When we arrived we were greeted by PJ and Frank who showed us around. They were very nice and very easy to talk too. There is a common area where there is a fridge some complimentary snacks and water. There is also a Keurig and computer area there. The front Palor and Living Room is very nice. There are things to read and some brochures on things to see in the area. Our room was very cute. It is a wonderful Victorian home and the decor kept with the Victorian theme. There was a little sitting area and a very nice bathroom. There was also a pocket door between the bedroom area and the main entrance to the room and bathroom. This added extra noise proofing which is nice especially when your on the main floor. Despite it being the smallest room there was plenty of room for us and our large amounts of luggage and various items which we purchased. As stated there was even a sitting area for one person. The grounds are very nice. There is a large front porch with many places to sit and a Gazebo in the back. The garden there is a typical Maine garden which is very beautiful. I almost forgot to mention the location. This was the first time we actually stayed in town. The Limerock is only two blocks from the town center. It was the best. We daily walked into town. So close to all the shops, galleries, museums and restaurants Rockland has to offer. Parking in Rockland, although free, is not always easy to find readily. The breakfast was always great. Frank makes amazing baked goods. The first day we had fresh homemade croissants, fresh fruit with homemade whipped cream and an omelet with tomatos and unfortunately other things I can not recall. Second day was a blueberry parfait, cinnamon swirl french toast with bacon and the bread I could not recall. Third day was biscuits, which was the best of all three days bread options, and the best I have had. I was especially impressed since my biscuits do not taste anywhere close to as good. It started with fruit with yogurt and followed was an egg souffle with cheese and ham. Through talking with Frank we heard about the Maine wine trail. He highly suggested Cellardoor which was a great winery, also reviewed this on Yelp. We told Frank that we mostly had shorter trips to Maine and that it is always food based. He said we should go to Primo, which we reviewed on Yelp. We also heard of Monhegan and Vinalhaven Island through a couple we met. We have not yet gone there but we do plan on it the next time. As Frank put it, it's more about the journey than the destination.

Grammy L.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here on a trip to Maine to visit our son and daughter-in-law. We really enjoyed our accomodations and Frank and PJ made us feel right at home. Breakfast was lovely and they went out of their way to accomodate my dietary restrictions. We will definitely come back on a future trip--Rockland is a lovely town and we love going to the local museums. We love the Farnsworth, the Lighthouse Museum is great and today we checked out General Henry Knox's homestead, Montpeiier, in nearby Thomaston. We also recommend a trip out to the Owl's Head Lighthouse, one of Maine's prettiest lighthouses. We enjoyed talking to Frank and PJ as well as the other guests who were here at the same time. This place is a definte "keeper". Granny

Yelp
Lovely place to stay. Wonderful, knowledgeable hosts. Short walk to town. Extremely comfortable and cozy room. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We had never been to Rockland before - let alone Maine - and we were so impressed! The Limerock inn was a great place to stay. The location is perfect, very easy walking distance to downtown. Once we arrived we were welcomed by the kindest people - Frank and PJ. They took their time to make sure we would have a great stay. They helped us figure out what to do and see. They had a couple restaurant suggestions. Our room was perfect and had such a nice, cozy feel to it. Frank and PJ went above and beyond for us and we would go back and stay there anytime!

Jan B.

Yelp
I agree with Jen R (it's crazy - she is also from Oakland, CA). The innkeepers, Frank (don't call him Frankie) and PJ were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful! Thanks for a great stay!

Laura R.

Yelp
really nice place, conveniently located within walking distance to town. the innkeepers are great, friendly and helpful. our room (the cottage, which isn't really a separate cottage) was bright and cheery. good breakfasts too.
