Limón is a solid Peruvian food option in San Francisco if you are looking for traditional roasted chicken and ceviche. Here's what I recommend you order (for 2 people): * Ceviche de pescado clásico (rate 3.5 or 4 out of 5 stars, $22): they use very large chunks of Pacific red snapper. I wish the pieces were cut up a little smaller to make them bite sized as most cevicherias do. Flavor was good though - nice sourness to the ceviche. * Half pollo a la brasa, roasted chicken (rate 4 out of 5 stars, $24): the roasted chicken was cut into 4 pieces, and we also ordered Yucca fries and veggies ($2 each extra) with it. The chicken was roasted well and was a nice size portion to share amongst 2 people. * Empanadas (rate 3 out of 5 stars, 2 pieces for $14): good texture on the outside but a lot left to be desired on the inside of the empanada. Would try another appetizer next time. * Chicha morada ($8) and mango lemonade ($7): these non-alcoholic drinks were delicious Overall, it's a decent Peruvian option, but it's definitely a little pricey. I would still go back, but might try some of the other dishes next time (lomo saltado and pulpo). Be sure to make a reservation in advance!

Great food, wonderful atmosphere, you can smell the flavors just sitting there, authentic Peruvian food, one of the best spots in town for sure. Definitely recommend

This is one of those special places. The food is great, the service is great, the atmosphere intimate and cozy, You have to try this place. This is one of those special restaurants that I will put on my list of return visits. If you are fortunate enough, ask for Rafael for your server. He's a professional. Knows the menu and is attentive but not intrusive. We tried the Langostinos (shrimp)as an appetizer-perfect flavor, and had the baked chicken and a couple (Asparagus, pork belly) of side dishes. Everything was excellent. Flavorful and rich without overpowering the food. Just right on spices! Would also recommend trying one of the sour drinks of Peru. Go local man! All in all this was an incredible dining experience. Super service, from the young man who sat us, the owner that stopped by, Rafael, everyone was nice.

Every dish we ordered is great and authentic (according to a friend who went to Peru before), except the crispy chicken is not as good as I expected. The signature roasted chicken is always our favorite. Ceviche Mixto is a surprise to me. I’m a big fan of Japanese Sashimi. This is the first time I taste Peruvian style raw seafood and I like it so much. It’s a pity I missed desserts. I’ll definitely taste it next time. The “Tapas” style provides opportunities to share dishes together with your group. So it’s a perfect place for group dinner. We took indoor seats and dishes came quickly. But it’s rather annoying waiters always came to ask to take our plates every 5 mins and almost forced us to check immediately. It was not a busy time when people were waiting outside, nor late time. We didn’t stay there keep talking for hours! We just slowed down eating because everyone got nearly full.

Delicious food, definitely get all the Ceviche! Note the space is a little tight so great for making new friends. The service is super kind and quick however a drink was forgotten which happens especially on busy nights.

A wide selection of somewhat non traditional Peruvian food here. We got the ceviche and the rotisserie chicken since that’s what seemed to be the most famous here. The ceviche limon, the namesake dish, was served in a large bowl with such a wide range of seafood - it was interesting to have both calamari and fried calamari on the same plate. I liked the flavors, the seafood all tasted great, it just didn’t resemble authentic ceviche or other ceviche I’ve had before. The rotisserie chicken with two sides was a really healthy order, which was great. The chicken was somewhat unexpectedly a bit dry, you could tell that you had to use all of the mustard sauce that was served with it for the chicken. The yuca fries had an awesome texture though, perfectly crispy. I don’t think I’d recommend the rotisserie chicken though, I think going with other menu items (seafood) is probably a tastier bet.

Good chicken and even better mac & cheese. Really good Peruvian rotisserie restaurant. Authentic flavors and classic dishes, perfect for the whole family. Moist and tender the chicken was perfect. The fried rice is surprisingly good and so are the empanadas. The family combo had plenty of food for up 4 people and is decently priced. Now, on to the star of the show, the truffle mac & cheese we ordered on the side is unbelievably good!!! This was my second time ordering from here and I will definitely reorder again. Food was delicious. The chicken may very well be the best chicken I have ever had. Atmosphere is nice, service was prompt and friendly. We went during happy hour and had some great drinks. They should bottle that aioli. I would buy it and put it on everything.

A Longtime Favorite - Worth the Drive! Limon has been one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco for many years, and even though I've moved out of state and now live about three hours away, I still make the journey to enjoy their incredible Peruvian cuisine. I recently visited on 12/10/2024, bringing my parents along to share the experience. PROS: The Trio Ceviche was absolutely spectacular--definitely worth every penny! The Lomo Saltado was full of flavor, though I noticed the meat wasn't as tender as I remember it being on previous visits. The Maracuya Pisco drink was fantastic--refreshing and perfectly balanced. Our waitress was wonderful--prompt, friendly, and very attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Potential Areas for Improvement: There was a bit of an old, musty smell inside the restaurant, possibly from old wood or humidity. A bit more ventilation or perhaps an incense cleaning might help freshen up the space. Parking in the area is always a challenge, but that's just the nature of San Francisco, so it's not something the restaurant can really control. I do miss their whole fried red snapper (I'd drive three hours just for that!), and I really hope they consider bringing it back one day. Overall, I highly recommend Limon for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Peruvian flavors. Despite the small areas for improvement, the food and service make it well worth the visit!

I'm glad it finally closed, but it's sad that I had to live near this overpriced, obnoxious restaurant for almost a year-and-a-half. (It closed about six weeks before I moved away.) When they weren't stealing their employees' wages, they were piping godawful music loudly into the neighborhood until the moment they closed. I had to wait at the corner either right in front of or across 21st Street from Limón on many occasions late at night to cross South Van Ness on my way home. Thankfully, I lived far enough away that I couldn't hear the music, but I did feel bad for this restaurant's neighbors. They had barely any outdoor seating (almost never used), so why were they playing the music outside again? I'm sorry to be the bearer of worse news, but the owners are opening a new restaurant in the same spot. At least the neighborhood has a temporary reprieve from noise pollution. I guess?

Came here with my office crew and as always it was so delicious. The food is super fresh and come out really quick. I haven't been here in years since I stopped working out in the mission but now that I came back it was just the right spot to come to for lunch. The waiters are always really friendly and move super quickly. I like the chill atmosphere with that indoor outdoor feel they have going on. Good food, good convo, refreshing drink equals always a good time!

Came here on a Sunday to catch up with a good friend. We ordered the mixture ceviche. Which cMe with squid, fish, purple onion. It was really refreshing and citrus. We also tried the samples empanada. My favorite was the cheese mushroom and the chicken flavor. The beef was delicious, but I felt the beef was a bit over cooked. And the empanada was a bit burnt. The chicken was amazing. It had corn and peas and grounded chicken. It was so flavorful that it reminded me of some Asian seasoning. For the main, I ordered the skillet plate, which included clams, shrimp, muscles, and octopus. The rice was a bit watery, so I do recommend that you let the skillet cool down and do the rice it is not too moist. It the presentation of the seafood was superb, but the muscle was so tiny in the shell. My friend ordered the chicken sando. It was nice but the sauce taste like a Asian dish. But over all everything was amazing. The staff are super friendly and nice.

I'm so sad they took the lengua off the menu, it was my favorite thing. I've had chicken here in the past and it has nice flavor! This time we stick to fried seafoods and a ceviche. I will say I was kind of surprised at the size of the langostinos in the ceviche, thought they would be bigger. Shrimp croquettes and jalea were pretty good and plantains were a good break between all the friend stuff! Service was fast and they check on you a lot. Overall mellow vibe.

This time we sat outside since we got there when the sun was still out. Sitting till the sky turned grey and it got windy. We were able to talk without the loud music and occupy a table for 4 instead of two. Table enough to put all four dishes. The fried cauliflower was the best. Crunchy not soggy. Next is the mixto classico, with chunks of fish. Next is the yuca fries. We had to ask for more sauce since the smear on the plate was not enough. The chicha mirada tasted great. The service was excellent.

Great place for Peruvian, no reservation needed we were able to walk in we were seated upstairs nice decor and spacious. Unfortunately our waitress was not around or very friendly we had to bug others for items. I would return for the food but not the service.

I always enjoy eating here. There's always tables available around 5:30 but by the time I leave it's pretty packed. The food is generous and delishious. Love the chicken chicharrón and the lomo saltado. To end it, I love the panna cotta... a must. It's a relaxed environment where you can chill, decompress.

Adorable Peruvian restaurant with two locations in SF, not too far from each other, both with difficult parking (but we parked at El Capitan hotel for $10 on a Saturday evening, just a 5-minute walk away). Had dinner here this past weekend, and loved the place. Reserving in advance was easy. The ambience at the restaurant was casual and cozy, with simple and modern decor, a brick wall, perfect lighting, and just a lovely atmosphere for my kind of date night spot, though it can get loud inside when it's busy. There are a few outdoor tables, as well as indoor seating on two floors (street level and a lower level, which may have space for bigger parties). The food and drinks were fantastic. The ceviche limón had a nice acidity and citrusy flavor. The empanada sampler (beef, chicken, cheese, and veggie) was super filling. The veggie was my fave, stuffed with a savory combination of ingredients, especially yummy mushrooms. The seco de costillas had the most tender and delicious braised beef I've ever tasted. Our drinks, the ponche and la pasion margarita, were tasty and refreshing with a fruitiness I enjoyed. The wait times for food were reasonable, and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and providing excellent service during our entire visit, one of the many reasons I am giving 5 stars.

Sweet potato fries were pretty soggy upon arrival and the Lomo Saltado was a bit dry but the juice that soaked up the rice was so tasty once i mixed it. * Sweet Potato Fries $7.00 * Lomo saltado: Traditional Peruvian favorite! Cut in 8 pieces for $32 * Platano Frito: Fried ripe plantains, sweet and sour vinaigrette. $10.00

My boyfriend said this place was good so I was down to try it. This place was small but it was cute! We were immediately greet and were seated by the window. Our waiter provided us with some water. It took us a minute to order because we were looking over everything on the menu. Finally we were ready! We ordered the half rotisserie chicken which my boyfriend had before. Not sure why they don't have it on the menu. We also ordered sweet potatoes fries, a side of jasmine rice and a side of veggies (just zucchini). All the food was delicious! It's crazy there is one in Walnut Creek and it took me to go to SF to try it. I would definitely go back and try more items of their menu. I saw there was a short rib which sounds amazing. The parking is scarce around this restaurant but we got lucky and found a parking spot across the street.

They were busy for Sunday night would recommend a reservation. There is no parking around the area, so I would recommend coming a bit earlier in order to find street parking!! We ordered a couple of things, but from what I remember the standout dish was the ceviche!! I got the scallop one and I thought that was the best ceviche i've ever had. The roast chicken was flavorful tender and juicy! would order again! The steak was a pass though, it wasn't bad but nothing special either. With those dishes our total came out to about $100 after tip.

Came with a large party for a birthday and I think this is a great place to have a larger dinner -- there is lots of seating downstairs. Reservations are easy to make online as well. Everything we ordered was a hit! Especially la parrilla, crispy pork belly, and ceviche trio. The drinks were all fantastic as well - get the sangria pitcher to share. Service was incredible and very friendly; our server gave us a free birthday drink and bellowed some birthday notes for us. Super fun and will be back.

Came here yesterday because the Valencia St location was not open until 5. Overall, the food quality at this location left a lot to be desired. We got the ceviche, I got the Lomo Saltado and my friend got the slow braised beef short ribs. The ceviche was good. The lomo saltado was fair - the meat was tough, the fries soggy. The beef short ribs were bad and dry. For $36 an entree, I expect the quality to be a lot higher. Overall the food quality across all Limon locations has dropped significantly in the last 3 years and I'm considering never returning to this chain again. It's a shame because this chain used to be really good. The service was good.

Soooo happy they took my party of 6 as a walk in around 7pm! The food was really good, I do mean everything was flavorful. From the delicious truffle Mac and cheese that you MUST GET to the perfect ceviche lemon served with taro chips. (Adding taro chips for a few extra bucks) The ceviche was super addicting and refreshing, the seafood was fresh. Saltado Mar Y Tierra was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and they had jumbo shrimps. They were not skimping out on the portions! We also ordered the Empanadas Sampler and it was good for the most part, just not as flakey as I would like it to be.

It's been years since I came to this Limon location and it didn't disappoint! Whether you're on a date or with your family, this place is perfect. Recommend reservations for large groups. I recently dined here with my preteen brother and sister after mini golf at Urban Putt, which is just a couple of blocks away. They loved the food and the overall ambiance. The restaurant was busy, especially since it was a Friday evening around 7pm. However, the staff warmly welcomed us right away and even took the considerate step of closing the front door as we were seated near it. The service throughout our meal was attentive and friendly. The food came out fast! We shared a whole rotisserie chicken with 2 sides - french fries and chifa vegetables (stir fried seasonal veggies. Ours were zucchini). Both side dishes had great flavor and were perfectly cooked. The Ají Amarillo sauce that came with the chicken was delicious and also great for dipping the french fries. I'm a huge fan of pisco sours and absolutely loved Limon's passion fruit pisco sour. It was refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness from the passion fruit puree. The kids enjoyed their non-alcoholic mango lemonades, which had nice presentation with a dried fruit garnish. We left Limon with empty plates and happy bellies. We're already looking forward to going back with the family to try more of their delicious Peruvian dishes!

Food: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Drinks: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: 3/5 I've been to this place several times and I feel it's getting worse and it's losing its authenticity. The salad we ordered was so basic and looked like they just plate something out of packaged stuff in 1 min. The lightly battered shrimp was not so lightly battered and was covered in sauce and glaze. Empanadas were okay and nothing special. The ceviche was very Fishie and the rest of the food was just okay. At least from what I tried I could tell the ingredients are not high quality and sourced fresh. I can barely give it a 2 star given what I paid for. As for the service it was pretty attentive and good. The drinks were also good. Overall I think that was the last time I went there given how disappointed I was with the food.

Restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday night, but were able to call ahead and make reservation on the day of. To start off happy hour items we got empanada sampler, margaritas and pisco sours. The drinks were strong and tasted good. The empanadas were ok and our server didn't even tell us which was each flavor. Also, from the piqueos, we got the truffle Mac and cheese, coliflor picante, and polli-papas. I couldn't really taste truffle and the sauce was liquidy. The cauliflower was not crispy and was drowned in spicy mayo. The chicken from the polli-papas was dry and uneventful. From the regular menu: ceviche lemon, lomo saltado, arroz con mariscos. I enjoyed the ceviche and next time would try the trio ganador! I've definitely had better lomo saltado before and the beef was cooked more than I prefer. The arroz con mariscos was on the saltier end and I felt the rice was mushy.

Food was pretty good here, first time trying Peruvian cuisine. I wish the menu was more descriptive on what the items were. Cocktails are pretty good. Ceviches seem like their speciality item but I wasn't too hungry so went with an appetizer - Camarones Crocantes. The shrimp was lightly breaded and so fresh. Also a portion large enough to act as an entree for a lighter dinner. I enjoyed the Tacu Tacu which was some form of beans and rice. Overall a great dining experience.

Overall The food was delicious! Every single item was tasty. I've had the truffle Mac n cheese, Lomo Saltado, trio ceviche, and this had the Pollo a la brasa with a side of rice and red snapper ceviche. Price I was a little disappointed that the chips for the ceviche were $4 extra since in my opinion you can't really enjoy the dish without them. I wanted more sauce for the chicken. Some pieces are too dry on their own. They wanted to charge $2 extra for a little ketchup cup full of sauce. Be prepared to spend $50 a person. Me and my date spent $120 for us two. Service The service was rushed even though i made a reservation. First of all, they served the chicken first and it came within 5 minutes after we ordered. It came on its own without the sides. However, we ordered the ceviche appetizer so I was confused why the chicken came out first (without the side of rice) but the appetizer didn't come out first. As we finished dishes the servers were rushing to remove the empty plates. We felt rushed. Then I had no fork to pack my leftovers since they took everything in a hurry. I was there 4pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was not even 1/2 full. Why the rush? Ambiance The music was good. They need to do something about the sunlight coming in through the windows as the sun sets, there are no sun blocking shades. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I had to hold my breath. Toilet needed to be cleaned and they need air freshener or something because it smelled bad. It was gross...in my opinion too gross for a restaurant where you're spending at least $50 per person.

I love this place. Go Peruvian all the way and get a Pisco Sour. We settled on sharing a scallop ceviche. I was expecting one of those tall ice cream glasses, & was pleasantly surprised by the lovely & shareable individual portions on a scallop shell. For the entree- It's all about the Lomo Saltado. There's just the right amount of fries, soaking up the juices but not too soggy. Love the mix of onion, tomatoes & marinated steak strips. Rice is on the side. Same with the Pollo Saltado, and gotta say, the chicken was even juicier. Sadly, no room for dessert, next time.

We had the half rotisserie chicken and it came w/ sweet potato fries and salad, plus ordered platanos fritos on the side. Also, ordered empanada YUMMY! The server was very nice & friendly. Limón is a beautiful Peruvian resturant located in the Mission. Parking can be a bit rough so keep that in mind. I went here with a couple of my friends and it was definitely a pricy dinner. I also like to note there is a downstairs seating area that has no service if you have T-Mobile. I got the Lomo Saltado which is one of their star dishes. It was yummy but definitely overpriced. We also got the A su Mare ceviche. I didn't realize we also had to pay and extra $4 for the taro chips. :/ The presentation and food was good - but I don't know if it was worth the price.

Great spot for hangouts with good food! It's super spacious inside and there's also a second floor with more seating so it's great for big parties. I always like to get steak from here and the ceviche sampler is fire!! Highly recommend.

REALLY GOOD Peruvian food!! I've been to the Oakland location a while ago, and decided to give this place another shot. I was beyond impressed with the food - we ordered the ceviche mixto (rococo spice level) and it was amazing! Super spicy/tangy and every single bite just had so much flavor. We also go the half rotisserie chicken (SO GOOD) with sweet potato fries (AMAZING) and China Vegetables (would probably get something else next time, this was just zucchini). The service was also great and the dining area is cute and cozy, great for small gatherings or a more intimate date :)

Food is always delicious (Pollo y papas), service is great, and a nice moody lighting throughout. Highly recommended! Love this place. My only complaint is we sat downstairs and it smelled of cleaning solution (was a bit strong).

Had a bad experience with this place years ago but decided to give them another chance last week. Bad idea!! The lomo saltado was disgusting! I don't know what they put in the sauce or if I got the last in the pan but it was gross. The rice was hard as if mad in a rice cooker. I was so disappointed. The customer service was good. That I have no complaints about.

So fun to try multiple flavors, our favorite was the beef & if we came back we would order a plate of just beef empanadas - chicken rotisserie plate w/ sweet potato fries: loved the sweet potato fries, they tasted so fresh and homemade which I loved. The chicken was great as well! Delicious - lomo saltado: a bit salty, but otherwise delicious flavor. Meat was very tender Overall this was a win! We had never eaten Peruvian food and enjoyed it

Made a reservation for 4 people on a Sunday at 7:30pm. The inside of this restaurant was extremely hot (due to the recent heat wave), so we were able to ask for a table outside! We ordered the Ceviche Trio, which is intended to be a sampler of 3 different types of ceviche. When we got the trio, all of them were made of shrimp - there was no other seafood present (e.g. no fish, squid, etc). We asked the waiter and he said that they ran out of the other seafood - we probably wouldn't have ordered the ceviche had we known this. I ordered the saltado de pollo, which was pretty good! The chicken was slightly dry, but I still emjoyed it! I noticed that the portions are slightly smaller than the Valencia location's portions. My friend ordered the Lomo Saltado and he said the meat tasted a bit dry/overcooked. My other friend ordered the Spanish Octopus which was really good and well cooked! I definitely think the Valencia location has better seating/ambience, so I'd probably prefer that location. However, the food at this location is still good!

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. Made a reservation for two but was not necessary. Inside didn't have AC during the SF heat wave, but outside was great! Drinks were delicious! The lycheemelon is very sweet and the watermelon juice gives it a nice twist. We shared a half chicken and ceviche between two and the meal was very filling. Yuca fries were super crispy and tasty-only wish they gave more. Chicken was very tender and juicy. Ceviche was also great and good portions.

Limón is a Peruvian restaurant located in the mission. It has a modern interior with wide open spaces, and is great for large groups and smaller parties. The food is really tasty - we first started with different ceviche plates. First we got the large seafood platter, which came with lobster ceviche, shrimp, oysters, and several dipping sauces, and it all tasted very fresh! We also ordered yuca fries, which were the ideal amount of crispy - and the inside wasn't too chewy which is a problem I've experienced in the past. In addition to these starters, we also got a shrimp picante and a cauliflower picante - the spicy mayo sauce they used paired really well with the shrimp and cauliflower. For our mains, I split a blue steak. The steak was definitely large enough for two people so I didn't regret my decision to share it. The steak was delicious and was cooked to the exact level we wanted it! Everyone in my party enjoyed their mains, and they were all very filling. Our service was excellent. The restaurant was extremely crowded when we went yet I don't think I ever waited more than 10 minutes for a plate to come out. The staff constantly checked in to make sure we were doing okay and were all very polite. Overall, if you are looking for good Peruvian food in the city you should definitely check out Limón!

Delicious food. I love there Chicken and fries, standard South American food, served with a yellow pepper sauce. The lomo is the same as what you'd find in Peru. The cocktails: the Pisco Sour is the national drink of Peru, served at many of the resto bars throughout the state. It's not vegan though..

This place ain't too shabby! I ordered the lomo saltado since I love fries! It was pretty good but I thought it was a bit too saucy/salty. The steak was cooked perfectly though so that was good. I tried the other food that my friends ordered like the lengua (beef tongue) and the arroz con mariscos (pretty much seafood rice). They were also both very tasty! My other friend ordered yucca fries which I have never eaten but they kind of just tasted like regular fries.. so nothing much new there. Parking is scarce (only street parking) but that's nothing new in SF. Also, when you first walk in, it seems like a small place but we were seated in the downstairs area and it was very spacious! There's also the option for outdoor dining. Love the ambiance/atmosphere of the place - dim and cozy. I haven't seen my friends in a while so we ended up sitting there for at least 2 hours and they were nice enough not to kick us out. There's also restrooms both upstairs and downstairs. Overall, very nice experience and good food.

Loveeee limon. Tried it a few years back and have consistently kept going when I am in town. We law get the empanadas which are sooo good! I e also gotten the chicken with rice and veggies soooo good and also the dish that has fries and chicken on it that's my absolute favorite dish the sauces are sooooo good.

Service was good, the waiter kept the drinks flowing lol My favorite item was the pulpo or octopus it was so tender and soft! I had high hopes for the lomo Saltado however it wasn't as good as I anticipated, there's a really solid Peruvian place in the marina that does a better rendition of this. Chicken was good but didn't taste any different from Costco rotisserie chicken if I'm being very candid. The roasted zucchini's were bomb though, nice umami flavor I'm going to try and replicate at home. Ceviche was good, I prefer the shrimp to the fish variety and the truffle Mac and cheese was surprisingly tasty, is this even Peruvian lol As far as drinks go, the maracuya was good but can be sweet, the pisco sour was too sweet, and the lychee was ok.

This Peruvian restaurant in the City is located in Mission. We had a party of five on a Monday evening with no reservations. We got told 45 minute wait and went to the bar to order some drinks. The Lychee Sour and Cucumber Margarita were great summer drinks to get our palates ready for dinner. Not even 20 minutes had passed and they were able to seat us upstairs. Being near the back of the restaurant and elevated from the main floor, the noise was cancelled out by the open kitchen that had intoxicating aromas flowing out of it. Three of us had never been and the waiter was able to recommend 5 dishes. We chose to order them all and shared them, family style. He was very attentive and nailed the portions for us, with only one small take home box needed. For appetizers, we got the Empanada Sampler and the Trio Ganador. All four empanadas came out perfectly golden and flaky, each with a different filling. There was a beef, chicken, veggie, and cheese filled empanada that were all delicious in their respective flavors. Personally, the chicken and veggie empanadas were my favorite. The Trio Ganador was all three flavors of ceviche on the menu, paired with crisp taro chips. We got the mixto mariscos for a $6 upcharge, and had a variety of seafood in our ceviches. Again, with the myriad of flavors that came from this dish, there was no bad bite. The Ají Amarillo was my favorite of the three, with a slight heat accompanied with a fruity flavor from the peppers. For the mains, we got the Parrilla Platter,Pulpo, and Arroz con Mariscos. The steak was prepared medium rare, seated atop cooked vegetables and fries, and finished with a Cabernet demi-glaze. If I had a piece of bread, I would have soaked up all the juices from the empty platter. The Pulpo was grilled and had a little acidity and garlic zest from the rocoto, lime vinaigrette and the chimichurri deepened the essence of tender octopus. The final dish was the Arroz con Mariscos which took about 30 minutes, served in a hot paellera pan. With plenty of seafood in the saffron flavored rice, each bite made me relish the dish even more. Fortunately there were even a few crispy bits of rice on the edges as well, giving a nice crunchy texture to the soft pieces of clams, mussels, and scallops. This restaurant is well worth the meal if you live in SF or are just visiting.

Good Peruvian food. I am Peruvian and usually critical when it comes to Peruvian restaurants as they are scarce. The flavor is definitely there and the costillas and chicken were cooked perfectly. Pisco sours were on point ! I was weirded out when the waiter did not talk Spanish back to me

It was easy to make a reservation on a Friday night through Yelp. We got a whole chicken, the fiesta platter, and lengua for four people to share. I got a lychee sour as well. The lychee sour was easy to drink, but it was on the sweeter side for me. I wish there was more lychee taste to it as well. The fiesta platter was a good mix of options to try. However, everything is fried, so I recommend getting vegetables on the side. For the most part, I enjoyed everything. I didn't like the yuca fries as much though because they were dry-ish. The whole chicken was so juicy even the breast. The meat was tender, and it was seasoned really well. It came with two sides. We got a salad and jasmine rice. The portions for the sides were a good amount. The lengua was my favorite. It had a slight chew but still tender. The amount of food was more than enough, and we ended up taking stuff home. They do get pretty busy, and the waiters don't come to the outdoor dining area as often. However, it was a positive experience overall.

visited Limon recently for the first time and was impressed by their drink selection! Their jamaica drink felt like fall and it was available as non-alcoholic or alcoholic As for their food, the chicken wasn't as impressive as I thought, but their seafood was spot on, we ended up getting the ceviche sampler which was perfect. Service was impeccable as they check up on us on a busy Sunday afternoon! As far as the ambiance goes, it's a great place for a first timer and can get busy so plan ahead

10/10 for food, service, and ambiance! I've ordered takeout from here as well as eating in house and food has been bomb every time! Chifa veggies this day were zucchini, which was sautéed just right; not too soggy and not too hard. Saltado de pollo was delicious, and though my friend and I shared one dish I really wish I would've ordered another because it was so good!

Always delicious. Love the lomo saltado and the fiesta platter to share with the table.

Came here for their happy hour that they are advertising on their website since it's literally the first thing that pops up when you click on it and it turns out they no longer have it since a year ago I was told by the waiter. False advertisement.

I was rly happy with the service! I felt all our servers were very attentive and even go the extra step to make sure we were comfortable and had everything that we need. The food was great as well. It's my family's first time trying Peruvian food and it was a good experience! The steak with ginger infused sauce was delicious. The cooked vegetables were good and the sauce was delicious with the rice. The seafood rice was flavorful. & As all the other reviews say, the chicken is very juicy and delicious. I also got this non-alcoholic purple drink and it was SO GOOD. Reminded me of sweet yam flavor even though there's no yam in it. The only thing that I didn't like and unfortunately it was my personal order, was the octopus. It was burned and very salty. It was also small. But I liked everything else a lot!

Everything we had was so good, high quality, and ambiance was everything. Def would recommend if you're in the area if you want to eat good!! Lychee Sour (2/5)-- the only thing I wasn't a fan of from here. The flavor was just okay and couldn't taste the lychee flavor at all. It tasted like a simple sugar/tart cocktail. It was really strong which I liked but that's about it Truffle Mac & Cheese (4/5)-- soooo yummy! Quality ingredients. Solid appetizer choice Octopus (pulpo) (4/5)-- I love getting any time of grilled octopus dishes at restaurants and this one was a solid one if you really like octopus. Fresh + cooked perfectly, flavor was good but not to die for Ceviche mixto (4.5/5)-- another must get!! I love the trio and lets you try out the different ceviches mixes they have here if you can't pick one! Huge chunks of seafood and flavor was bomb. Taro chips were unique and went really well with w the ceviche

Limon is now an OG spot in the city and I have been coming here for YEARS! They have multiple locations in San Francisco, Burlingame, Oakland, Walnut Creek, and Mountain View -- typically I always go to the San Francisco locations -- I do prefer this location on Van Ness because the restaurant is bigger. Their food has always been on point for dinner -- to their: DINNER: - Lomo Saltado - Empenadas - Chicken w/ their sauces - Fish and Calamari - Sangria - Truffle Mac and Cheese (OG CLASSIC MUST GET ALL THE TIME) - Ceviche Mixto (MY FAVORITE OUT OF ALL OF CEVICHE) BRUNCH: They have a large variety of mimosa flavors such as: - Passion Fruit Orange - Blue Elderflower - Peach thyme - Lychee - Cucumber Lemon - Mango Pineapple - my personal favorite was the passion fruit and peach thyme, but all of them were so fruity and delicious - I loved the blue color of the blue elderflower perfect for pictures! Went to Limón for lunch with my Mum and Daughter. We enjoyed the food and service. We had the mixto Clásico soooo goood!! The empanadas where tasty, the polli-papas was very tasty! And the Arrzo con mariscos was a seafood delight!
