Heads up: cash only!! . Very friendly, as I walked in I was offered a cup of delicious Dong Ding tea . They are very willing to show you all the different teas if you ask. The tea leaves are stocked in big metal bins. The price is clearly written on each lid in TWD. The pricing is per 600g increments (approx. 1.3 lbs) and you can scale down to 300g or 150g.
I wish they had a price list in English . I had to ask what teas they had available and even then it wasn't all covered (I'm a huge tea geek). The back room has a variety of tea cups, teasets & gaiwans in display, albeit semi-unorganized. Behind that appears a garden and water fountain.
When I asked if the teas are organic the answer was that there are no organic teas in Taiwan. I'm not sure if that's true but I trust the teas they sell probably aren't organic. Most teas aren't organic, so it didn't deter me from buying. I think the Californian in me just had to ask LOL.
There's no English signage that says "Lin Hua Tai Tea" and it wasn't on my iPhone maps, just remember the address is 193 (not 195.3, that's the other tea room). It's not fancy schmancy but the tea is amazing.
Located in the area formerly known at tea street, there are only a few tea businesses left as it appears the younger generation seems more obsessed with milk teas with boba
Worth a visit if you're a tea lover.
