Where to go for heritage brands, artisanal cafes and handmade goods in Taipei - SilverKris

"A century-old tea wholesaler and retailer whose teahouse serves a light, milky Jinxuan brew and sweet, floral green teas; the shop retains a humble grey façade with blue‑panelled windows looking onto a courtyard of potted tea plants and houses a high‑ceilinged room storing traditional tea‑producing machines, giving a strong sense of continuity between historic trade and daily tasting rituals." - Dana Ter

Lin Hua Tai Tea Trading is much more than just a shop; it is a living piece of history in the form of a genuine, old school tea factory. This establishment's heritage is profound, having been selling and preparing its own tea leaves for at least five generations. This long standing commitment to quality ensures every leaf is handled with expert care and traditional methods. The selection is truly remarkable, spanning a vast and numerous range of tea types. Whether you are a dedicated connoisseur or new to the world of tea, Lin Hua Tai offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore the depth and variety of fine Taiwanese tea, directly from a family whose expertise runs deep. It's a fantastic place to appreciate the history and process of tea making.

Wow, I have never seen an old school tea shop like this. This has been a family owned business for five generations. This is where locals go to buy teas. You need to know what you are looking for, ‘coz they are so busy that they wouldn’t have time to spend a long time educating you. But they have great Mountain teas and oolong teas. And great price!

I came here to buy tea because I heard it was a good place. They sell tea in large metal cans and open them up to let you smell. Their prices are very reasonable and we got several bags. We were also looking for a teapot to bring back home, and the store owner gave us one that was $10 and never tried to push anything on us. They were very friendly and fun! The prices are essentially the same as the store next door but that one also has higher quality teas. We came here because it felt more friendly and approachable.

Traditional tea shop. Good selection. Knowledgeable staff. Helpful service that is not pushy. English is spoken. Will return here.

I was looking up bulk teas and came across this store in my google seaarch. Its not your usual tea space where you can taste test the teas but it is amazing place to buy in bulk. The quality or the Teas and also the packing to ensure I can bring back to australia was super helpful! I wish I made this the first stop in Taiwan vs buying my teas from all the "Touristy spots" which I knew I was paying 2 -3times more. Highly recommend for anyone who is serious about their teas and looking for no fuss bulk quality taiwan teas.

Great place for buying tea in Taipei. Family owned business for many generations. You get advice and explanation about their products in English. Good prices. Last but not least: excellent tea! I ♥️ their Pouchong. Recommended!

Was an interesting experience fresh tea leaves from huge bins of loose tea leaf which is weighed and packaged for you on the spot. Shop has an old time feel.

Even if the tea shop is not as well-decorated or furnished, the shopkeeper had entertained us. There was no other customers than us. The shopkeeper brought us to the tea keeping room and let us smell the fragrance of the dried tea. A very old school tea place - nice to have a look at the shop. There is a classic centre of the building with a pond with koi and tortoise.
