Lincoln House Hotel

Nice place on wonderful Cathedral road in walking distance to good pubs and the City Centre. The staff is absolutly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Great that it has its own parking place in the backyard! The rooms are comfortably and clean. I would have given 5 Stars, but if there is no Hotel Bar, than a little fridge in the rooms could be helpful.

Nice hotel within walking distance of city center or 10 minutes away from the bus station on the numerous buses that pass the hotel. Good breakfast service and fast wifi. Water in showers hot and plentiful. Staff friendly and attentive making for a pleasant stay.

During our holiday in Wales, we spent two nights at this accommodation. The accommodation is located about 15 to 20 minutes' walk from the castle and the town centre in a street with many Victorian buildings. There are a few restaurants nearby. The house would be a very beautiful Victorian buildind, but everything needs to be renovated. Some of it looks worn. Everything was clean. The staff were all nice. The breakfast was good.

A lovely old building, spacious rooms. Perfect for an overnight stay, clean with extras including shower gel and shampoo, Greeted by a gentleman who was very helpful. Breakfast was good and plenty full, I liked the fruit bowls with yoghurt and the cheese omelette was huge. My only criticism would be, it is very dark and in need of decoration, the walkway, stairs and landing need a more welcome ambiance. The furniture is very in keeping with the building, I felt like I'd stepped back in time. The bathroom however was lovely and modern with crisp white towels and hot water.

Lovely leafy location, good parking options and got upgraded to a bigger room which was nice. Breakfast was quick and tasty. Hotel could be great, but only if they get a new cleaning team. Room's carpets and surfaces had lots of dust/dirt, the breakfast room had every surface covered in toast crumbs (looks like this is from turning the tablecloths over after each person) and all windowsills seemed to be covered in coffee. Multiple positives, but could be so much better with a regular deep clean and some common sense.

This hotel wasn’t the best choice for us. It was a bit of a walk to the attractions in Cardiff, although through a nice park. We were given room 101 on the ground floor, which had a lovely bay window with a view of the parking lot. You couldn’t have the drapes open without feeling like you were in a fishbowl. The room was recently renovated, and had a king size bed. The cricket stadium was quite close, so I’m sure this would be a good place to stay to go to matches there. Parking was available, but they make it quite clear that it’s not guaranteed. The lot is pretty small, and they do not monitor who is parking in it. We were fortunate enough to get a spot when we arrived, but ended up taking an Uber to an attraction that was too far to walk because we were afraid that we would lose our space. The lot stayed full for two days after we arrived. There is parking on the street, but we didn’t see many empty spaces.

This quaint bed and breakfast was charming, secure 24/7, included parking off street, clean rooms and an excellent tradiitional Welsh breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful to the extent of notifying me that we left a computer tablet in a room. They packed and arranged for this to be shipped back to the USA. The manager Carl was professional, competent, and courteous in every way. Great place to stay.

When my boyfriends parent come to visit this is the only place they want to stay these days. It offers total luxury at a very reasonable price and the cooked breakfasts are amazing with so much choice. We didn't even stay with the in-laws but they were happy for us to come and join them for breakfast (we did have to pay, but it was worth it). The hotel has a very Victorian feel and all the rooms are tastefully decorated to fit with period. They even opted for extra luxury last time and had a four poster bed! The Penthouse suite is the only exception. Its very modern. Its only a short walk through the park to get into the city centre and it benefits from free parking too. Its not like all the other chain hotels, every room is unique and your made to feel special.

What a beautiful little hotel in walking distance to the castle. They have a small carpark at the back which was nice because finding street parking was difficult in many areas. The rooms are up kept and perfect for a couple nights in the area. The breakfast was very good and included. The service here is what really made the difference. The mature gentleman was very excited to share suggestions and talk about his lovely city! They gave us excellent recommendations several times for food that was always right on! Each day they gave us directions and info on where we were going and were very nice. The room was taken care of each day while we were out and the room was very good size for Europe. There is a nice sitting room and overall it was a really nice place to stay. Cardiff was also a good home base for our exploring of this part of Wales. We were driving distance to many different castles, we explored Tintern Abbey, Pembroke Castle, Cardiff Castle, and Raglan Castle all from here.

My family and I stayed here for only one night and it was really nice! The room and bathroom was very big and clean. The breakfast had many different options and was very good! The hotel was very easy to find and the customer service was outstanding!

My partner and I stayed at the Lincoln for two nights on a trip to Cardiff. Familiar with the city, we wanted to stay in Cathedral Rd, as it is an ideal base for getting around and far enough from the hustle and bustle. The town is merely a 10 min walk through Sophia gardens. A lovely, comfortable hotel and refreshingly modest. The highlight for us was the breakfast and the quiet, relaxing feel to this hotel.

Very friendly welcome. The building is stunning and the rooms and furniture have character that is hard to match. Great breakfast too.

Good comfortable place, all the extras you expect of a higher priced hotel, WiFi, freeview etc. Quiet location (as long as you don't get a front room), walk through bute park to get to the city. Great breakfast too, recommended!
