Great period building with original features in a lovely street. Spacious room with comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. About 15 minutes walk in to town and also a good location for local shops. Good selection for breakfast. Service was friendly, efficient and speedy. All the staff we met made us feel welcome. Off street parking at the rear of the property. Made our stay in Cardiff very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in this delightful hotel. Lovely period features, very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The lounge was decorated for Christmas and it was absolutely beautiful. Great location, 15 - 20 min walk from the city centre. We will definitely be back.

This is a lovely B&B in a historical building on a beautiful street. Our room (on the ground floor in the back, so no street noise) was large and comfortable. The bathroom for that room was also large and very nice. You can walk to the city center. We took UBER to the castle to start our city center walk and then we walked back. Driving is difficult and parking in the city center is non-existent as far as we could tell, so it was nice to just leave the car at the B&B in their free parking area in the back. The staff were very helpful. They recommended an Italian restaurant, El Gano, for dinner and made reservations for us. The food was incredible. We ate there two nights in row! The made-to-order breakfast provided by The Lincoln House was very good. I highly recommend this B&B!

Nice looking from the outside but it's more of a large B&B than a hotel. The rooms have the feel of a B&B - very basic, no frills. The bathroom was tiny with nowhere to put anything. No shelf in the shower for shampoo. Bed was comfy though.||The biggest issue is the poor wifi. It was completely unstable and made working or browsing almost impossible. As there is no mobile signal coming into the hotel, you're totally reliant on the wifi and this was virtually non-existent.||I think if i was paying a modest sum for the room, you pay for what you get but when you pay almost 3 figures, you expect a lot more. It did leave me disappointed.

This is an old, charming hotel in a nice area of Cardiff. We did walk to the hotel from the train but it is a bit of a hike. There are good restaurants just a couple of blocks down the street. Our room was large and comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfasts - buffet AND hot cooked ! The staff were friendly and helpful.

I've read some of the glowing reviews below but more in tune with the one dated 1st August. The glowing reviews clearly did not pay an extortionate rate for a small dated very old fashioned room like we did in order to go to the Billy Joel concert. Talk about being ripped off. We must have had the worse room in the hotel if the others appear to be so wonderful. Furniture old - not charming - and I normally love olde worlde charm - the shower had mould round it which I did point out to the lady on reception when we left suggesting they might like to use some bleach or mould product. The tiles were smashed by the toilet probably not helped by the glass toiletries on the shelf above. Those toiletries are lovely as I use them myself but the plastic reusable bottles make more sense in a bathroom. Very basic tea and coffee - and I paid £400 for this shabby room . There were cobwebs above the bed and over by the old table. The view from the bedroom window showed the neglect on the side of the hotel. We did actually stay at this hotel probably over 25 years ago and it is likely that not much has been spent on it in the intervening years. While it is a lovely building it really does need some desperate upgrading and a lick of paint. ||On a plus side - thankfully the bed was comfortable and not complaining about the breakfast.||It’s a disgrace that hoteliers in Cardiff are allowed to get away with charging crazy money when events are on. We’ve stayed in some gorgeous hotels in many places in the UK and abroad - and paid a fraction of what we were charged here.

Very disappointed regarding the room. Very dated, ripped bedding, stained carpet. For £400 per night, I expected a lot more. Obviously bumped the price lot due to event in Cardiff but standard of this place is low. I went into the communal room for a nosey round and wrote my name in the dust by the door. Was still there the next day! Will not be returning. Our room stated a king size bed. It wasn't! Plus point was the breakfast. Plenty of choice and friendly breakfast staff.

Helpful staff. Very clean. Breakfast was great: self-serve counter with cereals, fruit, etc., plus full hot made-to-order breakfast, and service was very friendly and prompt. Parking area behind hotel was easy to access. About a 15-20 minute walk to the center of town.

Yelp
When my boyfriends parent come to visit this is the only place they want to stay these days. It offers total luxury at a very reasonable price and the cooked breakfasts are amazing with so much choice. We didn't even stay with the in-laws but they were happy for us to come and join them for breakfast (we did have to pay, but it was worth it). The hotel has a very Victorian feel and all the rooms are tastefully decorated to fit with period. They even opted for extra luxury last time and had a four poster bed! The Penthouse suite is the only exception. Its very modern. Its only a short walk through the park to get into the city centre and it benefits from free parking too. Its not like all the other chain hotels, every room is unique and your made to feel special.

Yelp
What a beautiful little hotel in walking distance to the castle. They have a small carpark at the back which was nice because finding street parking was difficult in many areas. The rooms are up kept and perfect for a couple nights in the area. The breakfast was very good and included. The service here is what really made the difference. The mature gentleman was very excited to share suggestions and talk about his lovely city! They gave us excellent recommendations several times for food that was always right on! Each day they gave us directions and info on where we were going and were very nice. The room was taken care of each day while we were out and the room was very good size for Europe. There is a nice sitting room and overall it was a really nice place to stay. Cardiff was also a good home base for our exploring of this part of Wales. We were driving distance to many different castles, we explored Tintern Abbey, Pembroke Castle, Cardiff Castle, and Raglan Castle all from here.

Yelp
My family and I stayed here for only one night and it was really nice! The room and bathroom was very big and clean. The breakfast had many different options and was very good! The hotel was very easy to find and the customer service was outstanding!

Yelp
My partner and I stayed at the Lincoln for two nights on a trip to Cardiff. Familiar with the city, we wanted to stay in Cathedral Rd, as it is an ideal base for getting around and far enough from the hustle and bustle. The town is merely a 10 min walk through Sophia gardens. A lovely, comfortable hotel and refreshingly modest. The highlight for us was the breakfast and the quiet, relaxing feel to this hotel.

Yelp
Very friendly welcome. The building is stunning and the rooms and furniture have character that is hard to match. Great breakfast too.

Yelp
Good comfortable place, all the extras you expect of a higher priced hotel, WiFi, freeview etc. Quiet location (as long as you don't get a front room), walk through bute park to get to the city. Great breakfast too, recommended!
