Found this little gem on our commute from Atlanta to visit family in North Alabama. Places like this are why I avoid the interstates and stick to the backroads!
This quaint little steakhouse sits right on the small town square of Cave Spring, GA. The menu states that they age their cuts 21 days and prepare them on a grill - so I had to go with a steak!
I chose the bone-in ribeye (daily special - not on the regular menu) cooked medium, with thin & crispy onion rings and the house salad.
The steak was cooked perfectly, very juicy with what seemed to be only the simplest of seasonings - let the beef do the talking, not the spices, I like it!
Onion rings were as advertised - "thin and crispy". And the house salad, while simple, consisting of only tomato, onion and cucumber on some mixed greens was actually quite good thanks to the homemade dressing. They offer several and I chose thousand island. You just can't beat homemade salad dressings.
My wife opted for the Prime Rib Sandwich served with au jus and home style thick cut fries. The restaurant serves prime rib Thursday thru Saturday evenings and this sandwich isn't always available as it is made from that same slab of beef. The bread was your standard hogie roll but other than that, can't knock it - melted cheese, caramelized onions, very tender beef.
Give this place a try and ask for Emily's section. She was a fantastic server.
