We had a wonderful stay, made extra special through the kindness of the staff. Both the dinner and breakfast are outstanding and should not be missed by any guest. The breakfast is a buffet style but the staff also comes around and asks for egg orders and drinks. The dinner absolutely blew us away. We had the grilled salmon and vegetarian risotto, plus the ice cream for dessert. All 3 of these items were exceptional in both taste and appearance. Parking is also free outside the hotel, courtesy of the city.

Our family stayed in the newer section and loved it. Good WiFi and breakfast. Clean rooms and comfy beds. A great place to stay if you don’t want to be in touristy Flåm, but still want to be near the Fjord. Friendly staff who speak English.

We stayed in a Superior Room in the 1899 building. It was super clean, bright, spacious, and had lots of charm. Bathroom was modern with powerful water pressure, it was actually so strong the shower head flew off the holder! Also be careful as the tub is a bit slippery. Our room was on the main floor by the entrance door so was a bit noisy when people were coming and going. Curtains were not blackout so the room was also fairly light during the summer. Beds were super comfortable and had a great sleep. Service was really friendly and the location is convenient and quiet. Breakfast was good and the make your own waffles was a treat. Nice stay for one night.

We spent one night in the hotel on 19th June on our drive up through Norway from Bergen. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of town and has plenty of parking spaces nearby. We had a lovely welcome from the manager and were soon in our room in the main building. The room was large, clean and the bed really comfortable, so we both slept well. ||We had a beer in the bar that evening and sat by the fire in the reception area watching three seagull chicks in the garden being fed by their mother (fantastic!). Breakfast was amazing with a huge range of options on offer and checkout, again with the ever present and incredibly helpful manager, was smooth and easy.||I would definitely recommend this hotel if I were to come this way again.

Excellent experience from even before our stay. I had questions and plan changes. Knut, the owner, was kind and responsive. |We had an absolutely beautiful room with a great view, it also has a balcony. |We had dinner there the first night- delicious - The best of our trip!|Breakfasts included freshly scrambled eggs, made to order. Homemade bread and a delightful array of cheeses complemented it. |It was a wonderful stay- Knut and his family took great care of us for our 3 day stay there- I highly recommend the Lindstrøm Hotel!

I had a wonderful stay at Lindstrøm Hotel. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The owner was very helpful in locating my lost property and kind enough to send them overseas to my hometown. I really appreciate their kindness. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful village of Lærdal. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay in Norway.

Amazing service by the staff, specially during breakfast. Very attentive and always with a smile. The hotel, despite being antique, it is in good shape and condition. Rooms do not have that many amenities, however, the views to the mountain are amazing

We stayed there 3 and had an excellent experience. The hotel is family owned, and the family helps take care of the guests. From start to finish (actually before we even got there), we were impressed with how kindly we were treated when I had questions and needed to make changes. The food there is excellent- both breakfast and dinner. It’s the only place we’ve been on this trip that served freshly scrambled eggs to order. Dinner was by far the best we have had on our trip. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. The blackout curtains worked well and I didn’t have to use my eye mask. This was a great experience from start to finish- I highly recommend a stay here. Knut and family will take care of you!

Yelp
So, I thought we were staying in the older Lindstrøm Hotel when I saw the pics on Yelp, but there is the newer hotel next door, circa 1995, by the same name, same owners. See my photos for the hotel you'll be staying in when you book with a tour group. The public spaces look very nice, with what looks like a professionally designed lobby done in lovely Danish modern furniture; the artwork was really bad, but nice furniture. The rooms are seriously lacking in this level of care, however, and are pretty basic. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the bathroom was like an older, poorly maintained Motel 6/ Super 8 quality; cramped and uncomfortable, with a shower that didn't drain properly. The bedside tables have lamps, but there was nowhere to plug them in, and there are screws in the walls where perhaps artwork once hung, which adds to the sense of overall neglect. And you can hear everything from the surrounding rooms. The dinner we had in the hotel dining room was sub par. It's not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but I was hoping for more.

Yelp
Very nice local hotel, pleasantly operated by a multi-generation family. Very comfortable rooms, and good breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the local hospitality. Thanks.
