Visit the world's largest chocolate museum in Zurich - SilverKris

"Opened on 13 September 2020 in Zurich, this chocolate-focused museum offers hands-on chocolate-making classes led by master chocolatiers, a digital interactive bean-to-bar exhibition, and a factory room where experts prepare the company's products. Visitors can enjoy unlimited chocolate samples throughout the visit and browse the on-site flagship shop — billed as the world's largest for the chocolatier — making it easy to stock up on bonbons to take home. The museum's crowning feature is an over nine-metre-high chocolate fountain, touted as the tallest of its kind, and the overall experience is presented as a major new tourist attraction in the city." - SilverKris

We visited the Lindt Museum in Zurich over the weekend and absolutely loved it. We managed to get tickets at the last minute; however, I recommend buying them at least a week in advance. The museum is a bit outside the city center; it took only about 15 minutes by Uber to get there. Once inside, there was no waiting line, and if you love chocolate, this place is a must-visit. The unlimited warm chocolate sauce tasting was such a treat. The highlight for us was the personalized chocolate experience; the chefs carefully wrote custom messages on chocolate using white and dark chocolate right in front of us. It was amazing to watch their delicate craftsmanship, and it makes a perfect gift. Finally, do not miss the Lindt shop at the end of the museum; it is filled with hundreds of chocolate varieties. I highly recommend visiting if you are in Zurich!

A true chocolate lover’s paradise — beautifully designed and fun to explore! The museum offers a great glimpse into Lindt’s history and craft, and the giant chocolate fountain alone makes the visit worth it. And of course, the shop has something for every taste. A sweet spot in every sense!

I recently visited the Lindt Home of Chocolate and will give it three stars. We arrived in the late afternoon and were surprised by how crowded it was. I understand it is a popular attraction, but I did not expect such a sea of people everywhere. Tickets for the museum were already sold out, which we accepted, and the receptionist advised us to visit the shop instead. However, the shop itself felt extremely overcrowded. The queues were very long, and the atmosphere was quite chaotic. Many visitors were crowding around the chocolate displays, taking a lot of photos and handling products, which made it difficult to move around or shop comfortably. At the large chocolate installation in the entrance area, people kept walking into the space while I was still taking a photo, so even small moments like that felt rushed and stressful. The building is beautiful, and the selection of chocolate is impressive, but the overall experience did not match the calm, slightly “exclusive” atmosphere I imagined. It felt more like a busy tourist attraction than a relaxing chocolate experience. I personally would not go back, but I understand that other people might enjoy the lively energy and do not mind big crowds. If you decide to visit, I would strongly recommend booking tickets in advance and going as early in the day as possible to avoid the worst of the crowds. Go at your own risk if you dislike very busy places.

Definitely a must do! Building is beautiful, very thoughtfully designed exhibitions and plenty of chocolate tastings! Good for all ages! An hour is a good amount to spend there to visit, maybe more if you listen to everything in the audio guide. DEFINITELY get tickets in advance as it sells out! We drove and easy underground parking right on site. The store is awesome with ALL the chocolate! The cafe inside is great too, with sandwiches, savory things and plenty of desserts and delicious drinks!

We planned our visit and booked our tickets three months in advance. The chocolate experience itself is nice, and the building is absolutely stunning. However, the contrast with cocoa-producing countries such as Ghana where much of their chocolate comes from, is striking. During the tour, the images of poverty and lack of technology truly make you wonder whether the Lindt foundation is doing anything meaningful for these communities. None of this is ever mentioned. Please stop romanticizing misery and poverty. Cocoa farmers deserve to be presented as a respected and essential part of the process. I did my own research afterward, since the tour fails to mention that the Lindt Foundation actually runs programs to “support” these communities. I was also quite surprised by the tour guide describing the Spanish invaders as “survivors” when referring to the conquest of the Americas, an event that resulted in the destruction of entire communities and tribes, with estimates ranging from millions to tens of millions of Indigenous people killed. Please be respectful of history. Some visitors do know what really happened. On a positive note, the chocolate is excellent, and the guided tour offers plenty of extra samples

Today, I visited the Lindt Home of Chocolate factory, and I’m absolutely thrilled! The museum offers a fascinating journey through the history of chocolate and showcases how Switzerland became a global leader in chocolate manufacturing. It's the first museum I've seen where innovation and product testing are such an integral part of the experience. Truly a delightful and immersive visit!

A must-visit for all chocolate lovers! Easily reachable from Zurich HB by public transport. The building has a unique charm, and the giant chocolate fountain in the lobby is stunning. The museum gives a great overview of how chocolate is made, and the tasting experience is delicious. Don’t miss the hot chocolate and desserts at the café. The shop offers an amazing variety of Lindt chocolates — definitely worth buying here rather than other outlets in Switzerland!

It is advisable to book tickets online in advance, as the factory can become quite busy. However, tickets can also be purchased on-site if necessary. Upon entering, visitors can explore the history and origins of chocolate, enjoy complimentary tastings, and receive small gifts. Overall, it offers an informative and enjoyable experience and comes highly recommended.
