Yum! Omg yum! We got the lamb crepe x3. The chicken sandwich and the salmon crepe and it was all superbly delish! My chicken sandwich was to die for. I will dream about it. The flavors. The moisture. The originality was amazing. Everyone else absolutely loved their crepes. Highly recommend this place. Everyone working there is suuuuuper nice, friendly and helpful. And smiley!! We really appreciate this restaurant from top to bottom.

Server was very kind despite our arrival 20 min before kitchens close. Crepes were standout with excellent lamb, creme, salmon. Even the sides were well made, salad with dressing and an in house coleslaw. Drinks are great and a beautiful view! Please pay them a visit, they deserve the patronage ❤️

Amazing—delicious & interesting food & drink. Try the salmon salad or the poutine with homemade gravy/hint of curry! Hard cider on tap. Friendly service/bilingual. Visited again in 2024–still superb! Back again May 2025! Delicious as ever.

Food and service were great. We ate outside, which is very lovely with the flowers and all, if you don’t mind the constant traffic. We had the Falafel as appetizers, and the lamb poutine with the tofu crepe. Portion were good, we did wanted a bit more falafel than 3 for 12$. The menu is expensive, but you fell that everything is made fresh and good. Personally, a good place to go back if we pass by !

Cute and funky cafe. Service available in English. I got the vegan poutine and the Vegan cheese combined with vegan sauce was too strong a flavor. It had really nice toppings though. Dining companions enjoyed their food. Local suppliers.

We started with the Falafels and they were delicious. These were moist in the middle and I enjoyed that rather then the dry grass like texture you get with most. Our lamb poutine had a unique flavour but delicious. A taste I have never had before but it was good. The salmon salad was also very tasty with seared salmon and fresh veggies.

So glad we discovered this on Google. Quaint and the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had pulled lamb in a crepe and myself the salmon salad. We loved it all. The waitresses were very friendly and helped us by speaking English. We would have killed the French language. The local beer was also a hit. We may have to stop on our way back to AB

Google
The place is quite adorable and has a very "homey" vibe. Staff were really nice and service was great. We had ordered the falafels, vegan poutine, and the pulled lamb dish. Dishes were decently sized. Prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Very happy to have found this restaurant with the help of Yelp. It would make sense that they would receive visitors driving to and from Maritime Canada just based on the location. The food makes it feel like something I'd look forward to if I made that journey regularly. I had a really nice poutine with shredded lamb. Atmosphere pleasant and relaxed. Service very pleasant.

Great little cafe with an eclectic menu. Server was attentive and the guests were friendly as well.

Yelp
Passing through on our way to Quebec City we stopped in for lunch. My husband and son both had the lamb crepe, the both raved bout it being the best lamb they've ever had. I had the vege poutine, fries were perfectly cooked, luscious gravy eith carrots, mushrooms, and onions poured over cheese curds. It was so good, I was having to fight my son for the last bite! The place has a very eclectic vibe, the antique building, the gold ce, and th great variety of music playing (not too loud, we had no trouble hearing each other.) Very friendly staff who went above and beyond to take care of their customers. If we're ever back to the area, we will most definitely be stopping by again.

Yelp
Ate lunch. Tofu buckwheat crepe and falafel pita. Excellent food. Great service. Sat outside with the dogs. Right on the street so a bit noisy. But overall excellent experience.

Yelp
Outstanding in every way. Delicious felafel salad, vegan poutine, and the chocolate coffee pie alone was worth the the trip. I wish I lived close to this place!

Yelp
Absolutely perfect! So glad I visited. Food and service are outstanding. Wonderful art. Good music. Altogether a great experience. I hope to return soon. Thank you!

Yelp
Found this very hipster cafe through Yelp and Google reviews, and decided to give it a try! The prices are quite expensive compared to Toronto, but the portions are large, and comparatively speaking, the prices are quite standard in the smaller town of Riviere du Loup. I ordered the salmon salad, my sister got the poutine, Mom ordered the ham wrap, and Dad got the burger. Dad seemed to enjoy his burger for the most part, and cleared most of his fries. My Mom adored the smoked ham wrap - she loved the gooey melted cheese and was delighted to find that the ham was actually some high quality smoked ham - not like the deli types, but the Schwartz type. Though she appreciated the cheese curds on her poutine, my sister didn't like the fact that the seasoned fries (with oregano and whatnot) were used as the poutine base. I also would have preferred if plain fried were used instead; the herb mixture with the gravy and cheese curds were just slightly odd. My salad was definitely overpriced. It had about the same amount of grilled vegetables as all the other lunch options, and there was just a tiny piece of salmon placed on top of some lettuce base. The dressing was slightly oily, but decent! Overall, wonderful portion sizes, but nothing too different that you can't find anywhere else. I will say, however, that the cafe is quite quaint inside with some wonderful decor!

Yelp
We passed by riviere du loup on a Monday on our way to Gaspesie. For some reason most restaurants are closed on Monday! We were happy to find this open. It was nice had kids meal options and we got some pasta for us. Nothing fancy nice service and good food . I also ordered a latte to go which was very good....

Yelp
What a quirky hole in the wall! It was recommended by the "aubergiste" at our B&B. It is run by a group of artists and hippy-types. The main artist had a thing for women's breasts - the painting of the woman on our tabletop even had three. We ordered veal burgers with blue cheese and gruyere and other good stuff - excellent. Nice complement of salad and fries. We had Boréale Amber draught with our meal. To top it off sugar pie with coffee in it - quite tasty - would definitely do that again. Prices were higher than you would expect in Ottawa for a similar meal - closer to $$+ than $$. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the experience and recommend it.

Yelp
First time in, me and boyfriend ordered the lamb burger and the falafel. My falafel was green! GREEN! I've never had green falafel! Boyfriend loved his burger -- the region is known for its great lamb, and he was really happy with his meal. Overall, a great lunch. We then came back a second time on our way out of Gaspé. We both got the pulled lamb served over fried rice. Sooo good! I also ordered a sweet tea on the side, which reminded me of the tea I drank in the summer with my Houston friends as a kid... Real American iced tea! We were so happy with our food here, and eating in such a fun space (art on all the walls, created by a local artist) made this small town memorable for me.

Yelp
It is on an uphill with a lovely vibe. At the end of the street where all the restos are. In this small town, this place has a great breakfast and a lovely trendy feel to it. A bit overcooked and slightly burnt bacon but the coffee and quality was great. The service was warm.

Polly W.

Yelp
Oh my word. Vegetarians rejoicing! The flavor combinations are unique and out this world. We got the tofu crepe and vegan poutine and I only wish we weren't traveling on so we could experience more of the menu. Fun atmosphere, and everything local and organic as possible.

Yelp
Surprisingly fantastic! A warm and casual ambience coupled with friendly, speedy service and stellar cuisine - what else could you ask for? Our party of mine was seated and served most graciously by the staff. The menu offers an eclectic and tempting variety of fusion and traditional cuisine with options for everyone including vegan choices. The stir fried coconut rice, buckwheat crepes, and falafel dishes were all fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and tasty. Trois-Rivieres is fortunate to have such a lovely restaurant.

Yelp
Awesome spot. If you are an English speaker and afraid your French won't cut it - don't be. The wait staff all spoke great English and were able to give me advice on what to order, and the menu includes English descriptions of every dish. Friendly atmosphere, plenty of space, nice people. Most importantly, try the vegan poutine! Even if you're not vegan - it's AMAZING.

Yelp
Delicious pulled lamb in a crepe's with fries and mixed veg salad accompanied with a Diable Vert IPA. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu and specials.

Yelp
Sometimes on road trips you end up eating sub par burgers for days on end. This is not the case if you're stopping in Rivière-du-Loup. They have a great selection of vegan food which is super delicious even for those of us who are omnivores. I can manage with menu French, but our server was happy to chat with us in English, recommend spots to stop along our route, and just generally go above and beyond. If you're not in a rush to get back on the road and want to loiter over the paper or check your work emails, they have wifi and a cozy vibe.

Yelp
Great hipster place in RDL. I was introduced to this place from a work colleague. You get the feel as if you are on Polk street in San Francisco or the Haight - Ashbury neighbourhood. It's a century old building where they have creatively and uniquely decorated to make a charming and eclectic restaurant. I ended up ordering the fried rice with tofu, honey curried vegetable nuts and feta dish. Really you'd think this is not a combo that works however it is a wonderful medley. The rice is a bit crunchy and the curry plus sweet honey with saltiness of the feta is decadent. One of the better vegetarian dishes I've had in quite some time! Service was attentive and pleasant. Definitely a good experience and worth it to come back when in RDL.

Yelp
Absolutely marvelous. Simply amazing. Incredible. Set your GPS, find a parking space, navigate the hill and the steps and enter a world where you choose from three shredded meats...ham, lamb or pork, and several treatments...crepes, fried rice, potatoes, noodles, or salades. Worth the trip.

Yelp
We recently stayed a night in RDL on our way to visit family in Ontario. It was a fantastic idea. The town is situated on the astonishingly beautiful St. Lawrence River. And is full of charm you don't necessarily get travelling along the Trans Canada. This place was great. Healthy and delicious food that went beyond what my mother refers to as "earnest". My husband had ham crêpes and I had a salad with loads of tofu and vegetables and seeds -All the good stuff. The potatoes that came with my roasted vegetables were to DIE for! Coffee was great too. Service was lovely and friendly, food was great, overall definitely worth the short trip off the highway!

Yelp
This is a gem of a restaurant. The people were exceptionally friendly went out of their way to make our meal pleasant. It's not a fancy place- a true local bistro - but the food was very tasty (try the lamb fried rice) and a lot of it was locally sourced. There was a delicious local raspberry wine that went beautifully with dessert. Very good value for money and a lovely dinner. I would definitely go again.

Yelp
Went there for a quick lunch. Very disappointed!!! .We had chosen this place for the "multiple" GF items on the menu.... And, well make sure that you ask the server if your food will be GF, even though you choose the "GF Potage du Jour" because today it wasn't... and I bet it wasn't yesterday neither. I mean my soup tasted like if cooked for many days. The service was okay. And the food doesn't worth the price. We loved the decor which was pretty "Hip". Important to mention that the only tiny bathroom was totally disgusting. A dirty toilet, dirty floor, garbage can was also gross and the sink was sickening. Did I mention that there were nothing to dry my hands after washing them? Unfortunate, because at first glance the place looked super cool. Well: we'll know where not to go next time we will stop by Riviere-Du-Loup!!!

Yelp
This place was outstanding in service and food; I highly recommend. I was with a group of 13 that found them on a busy night, yet they promptly accommodated us with an appetizer and drink, then food. I think they had off duty staff jump in to help with the unexpected crowd plus normal drop in customers. Incredibly well designed and excellent food with efficient and staff passionate about their restaurant. A real pleasure.

Yelp
We were on our way and we found this cousy café. Their fried rice was so good. We bought one with Salomon, one with pork and one with agneau. All of them were delicious with a little smell of India. I strongly recommend it.

Yelp
Our server was able to tell by the lost look on our faces that we were unable to understand much French and she was happy to accommodate in English. Super friendly and warm folks here! They put their own spin on the classic of Poutine. I had their classic version while my husband ordered the pulled pork version. Both were very good. Fun, funky atmosphere with an eclectic crowd. If my travels ever take me to Riviere-du-Loup again, this place is at the top of my list.

Yelp
Popped in for a quick bite on our way to Quebec City and we were not disappointed! Tofu salad was so yummy I'm trying to make a mental list of all the ingredients now so I can try to reproduce it at home. Also had the fried rice with lamb. The lamb was so delightfully crispy and full of flavour, it was like eating carnitas, if that makes any sense. Lovely, warm atmosphere, interesting decor, artsy feel, and clearly popular with the locals which is always a good sign. The lady who served us was very helpful with the French menu. Can't fault the place!

Yelp
What a great find on our way back to NB. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. You will not go away hungry either as the servings are generous

Yelp
Pleasant surprise in Rivière-du-Loup. Excellent food. Very friendly service. We were passing through on our way to PEI. Will plan on hitting the place on the way back home. Worth the short drive off the highway.

Yelp
With only two days in Riviere-du-Loup, we were glad that Yelp helped us find this delightful restaurant. We enjoyed both our food and the experience very much at this casual, non-pretentious spot. Susi had the ham crepe; I had the tofu fried rice; we thought both were excellent. Our server was friendly, cordial, helpful, and spoke plenty of English to help us through the French menu. And the draft IPA from a local microbrewery was very tasty. We highly recommend Cafe L'Innocent!

Thornton G.

Yelp
When in Rivière du Loup Café l'Innocent is a treasure. Easy to find on Rue LaFontaine up the street from the river quite a ways and after the street becomes one way. Great original meals and the waitress was very helpful to we non-French speakers. Expect restful jazz, modern art all over, dark and warm interior in an intimate setting. We would go back anytime.

Yelp
A family (including a vegetarian) sometimes has trouble finding a place that everyone can eat when on the road. Fabulous meal, friendly bilingual service and open late enough for this road-weary group means we couldn't recommend this wonderful place more!!

Beth B.

Yelp
Fresh, local food, creatively prepared -- this was the best meal of our entire Quebec vacation! Our French is limited and the waitress took lots of time to ensure we understood all menu ingredients. Other people described this as a vegetarian restaurant, but they also slow roast meat. We had the salmon crepe, which was stuffed full of salmon, and vegetarian rice with marinated tofu. Both were tres bién!
