Easiest directions: I-81 to exit 170 (309 North). Exit 2 City Center. 3 lanes at bottom of ramp so be in middle. That's a left turn lane. Go under the bridge.T/R onto Conyngham. Go to the end. T/R at stop sign. Lion Brewery on right. Go past the docks and turn right between the telephone poles. Go through the gate and look to the left. The office to check in is down at that building as the sign on the tree says. Nice folks. My load had to be reloaded at shipper so I was a day late and I was still empty by 930am after getting in the dock by 8am. Thank you Lion Brewery!!

Lionshead beer has not been available for reordering in my area since August. Are they still making it or are they out of business?

Do not come here if you are not an experienced driver. Terrible! They have another site in 11 miles from current. So, just be ready for very charp turns and narrow streets. Here is a picture of the map of the second site. Three stars, that because spending extra time to get there:

I was introduced to Lions Head beer about a decade ago by one of my sons. It has become my favorite all time beer. I especially enjoy Lions Head Light in bottles. I generally buy a 24 bottle case per week. Shortly before Christmas I went to my usual beer joint only to find that they were out of Lions Head. I went to 5 local beer distributors in Luzerne County, and checked a few in neighboring counties only to find that no one had Lions Head. They all had similar stories indicating that Lions Brewery had packaging problems. I tried calling and emailing the brewery to no avail. My emails were rejected. I've never sought after a beer brand like I am now in my almost 50 years of enjoying beer. A few weeks ago my regular beer distributor received a shipment of cans. I am at the point in my life where "I'm not a can man....man". I sorely miss my bottled Lions Head Light especially. My grandkids miss checking out the cap puzzles as well. I hope Lions Brewery starts to "bottle" beer again. I'll be grateful and happy to say the least. I have not found another beer with the satisfying flavor of bottled Lions Head.

Go between the two buildings, turn left — you’ll see 2 docks at the end

To the Lionshead Brewing Company Team, Your absence was felt like a missing piece in the heart of those who truly appreciate great beer. In the short time you were gone, something was missing from my gatherings, my celebrations, and my quiet moments of reflection. The world felt just a little less complete without the crisp, golden perfection that only you can create. To give credit where it’s due, Yuengling is a wonderful beer, a Pennsylvania staple with a well-earned reputation. But in my book, it stands second to Lionshead. There’s just something about the smooth, refreshing taste of your brew that makes it my go-to, my first choice, my true favorite. Lionshead is more than just beer to me—it’s a legacy, a tradition, a work of pure artistry crafted by the hands of those who refuse to compromise on quality. Every sip is a reminder of what true brewing excellence tastes like, a nectar so perfectly balanced it feels almost divine. And beyond the taste, I adore the puzzles on the bottom of the caps—small moments of joy that make each bottle an experience, not just a drink. Now that you’re back, I raise my glass higher than ever—not just to the beer, but to the passionate souls behind it. Your struggles have only proven what I already knew: the world is simply better with Lionshead in it. Welcome back. You were deeply missed. Cheers to you all!

This place was not my favorite to visit, due to their over exhausting load/unload process. You pull up to this building and they actually give you directions on a sheet of paper to an off site location, where they load and unload trailers.. The docks are only down the street, yet the entire process was enough to agitate me a great deal. On the flip side.. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, helping me as best they could. Also the forklift guy didn't take too long with my trailer..

Yelp
I think I was better off just looking at this place from the highway; that was part of the appeal. Upon further investigation.....a waste of time. The people are super nice but I didn't care for the tour. Took about 30 minutes then you had tastings. There isn't much here other than the production plant and even that is a different location from the red building that catches your eye on the highway. You'll find most of there beer in stores or at event. If you don't make it here, you're not missing much.

Yelp
Ahhhhhh I don't know why the fuss.I had a great time and loved the tasting for there beer.If your a retro beer brewery restaurant snob stay away.....THIS IS A ACTUAL PLANT WITH A HISTORY THAT TO ME DESTROYS THAT RIVAL BEER COMPANY IN POTTSVILLE AND THERE CLAIM TO BE THE OLDEST When you take the tour it's bare bones,no romantic story,,,,,,,,,but it was the home to 4 extinct big beer names in Pa...That to me makes it worth the while HISTORY

Yelp
Oh.my.god. what a horrible experience. I drove 2 hours for a tour of the lion brewery, bad bad bad idea! The "tour" was a 30 minute walk through of nothing and then a tasting of their beer and soda. Seriously, horrible. The only thing about this day that was salvageable was going to the outlet stores. Perhaps the yuengling brewery will be better...

Yelp
Funny this...they've been closed for almost 3 years. Still on Yelp, but if you read their hours of operation closely, they aren't really open... ... Updates are important!

Yelp
The Lion Brewery had an Oktoberfest on their grounds this past weekend. $3 to get in, pretty cheap. The setup was a little odd as it was a mix of carnival rides, beer stands musical events. To me, an "Oktoberfest" isn't really for families with small children; there were a lot of little kids running around. Not a fan of that. The brews were ok, nothing spectaular. The Oktoberfest ale itself seemed to be the most popular and seemed to get a little better as the night wore on. Wasn't as hyped about the Summerfest and I didn't even bother with the Lion's Head Light ( I don't believe in "light" beer). I may have to come back to check out the brewery tour.

Yelp
It's a cheap tour for a 30 minute walk. The place is small I get that but it's nothing fun. But hey, if you live in the area and are bored then go. Or you can go to their website, go through the photo gallery and shop and its the same thing! Yes their beer is great but this rating is based on the tour.

Yelp
The Lion Brewery makes the BEST Pumpkin Beer, under the Stegmaier brand!

Yelp
Lion Brewery is a treasure regardless of what other reviewers might think. Last night I visited one of my favorite pubs in the Finger Lakes New York and they offered Lions Head as a draft special. I was totally delighted and had 3 drafts while educating the bartender and some locals about the brewery. Pennsylvania, Wilkes-Barre, and NEPA should be proud to be home to this historic brewery. Lions Head is my new favorite beer and I will be buying a case or two when I get down to Wilkes-Barre in the near future.
