Sigiri Lion Lodge

I loved this place. The staff couldn’t do any more for us, they were amazing. Organise all our trips for us. Booked us on a home cooking experience and it was the highlight of the trip. Incredible. Also recommended we went to the Hurulu Safari which turned out to be one of the best things, better than Yala. Breakfast is still my favourite of all our stays and we’ve been here 2.5 weeks. Fab location, great staff. My friends room was slightly damp and musty but mine was perfect.

cozy and warm guesthouse that offers good value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with air conditioning. Bathroom amenities like shampoo or toothpaste were not provided, but overall everything was acceptable. The host was very hospitable and friendly, and the highlight of the stay was definitely the breakfast—it was generous, delicious, diverse, and had a lovely local touch. Overall, I would recommend this place for a comfortable and budget-friendly stay.

Nice and affordable, near to sigiriya rock. Neat Rooms, good Services compare to price. Lady owner has a habbit to forget things. She will send you to already occupied rooms results in arguments between you and other guests. Pay by online or cards as she will forget when she has collected payments.

Very disappointing experience. This hotel should focus on doing its own business properly instead of getting involved in other unnecessary matters. The service was unprofessional and poorly managed. Guests are made to wait without clear communication, and excuses are given instead of solutions. A hotel should respect guests’ time and privacy and concentrate on providing good service, not interfering in things that are not related to their responsibility. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting professionalism or basic hospitality.

Stayed here for one night. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced too. The host was very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast on the terrace too!

I never fill out Trip Advisor reviews, but this was one of the few places on my recent trip to Sri Lanka that was above-and-beyond fantastic. The owners were very warm and accommodating, letting us check into our hotel early. At the last minute, we wanted to arrange a massage, and not only did they make a reservation for us, but they also took us on their tuk-tuk to get there. Location was perfect and the breakfasts were yummy. It is very inexpensive, so don't expect a Four Seasons -- but I would definitely stay there again.

An absolutely amazing hotel. The rooms are spacious with beautiful wooden furniture. There’s also a terrace with a table and chairs. The internet connection is excellent. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. I sincerely recommend this place!

I had a wonderful, comfortable stay at Sigiriya Lion Lodge. We arrived very late because of our flight, and the host kindly accommodated us and made the late check-in process effortless. Our room was spotless, quiet, and well appointed — the electrical junction/charging box in the room was an unexpectedly brilliant convenience (bring a plug adapter if you’re traveling from India). Ajith was especially helpful and friendly: he gave us an early-morning tuk‑tuk ride, found a tuk‑tuk contact for Dambulla caves, and even helped arrange a bus to Kandy. Excellent service and hospitality overall — I’m very happy with the stay and would definitely recommend this property."
