By far the best view when entering from or heading toward the East Entrance or Desert View Watchtower within the Grand Canyon National Park. Be aware there are no restrooms at this point and the parking lot is probably the smallest of any of the viewing locations between the Desert View Watchtower and South Village. However, if you are interested in pictures, this is the best place to get them. The view is unreal and you feel like you are out over the Canyon. Highly recommend stopping here and getting pictures and experiencing the Grand Canyon.

Just 1 of many spots to get a view of the canyon

As grand as it could ever be... the Grand Canyon truly deserve its name. It is magnificently grand and vast and awesomely scenic and picturesque. I have taken numerous photos and I can't get enough of it. We went to the South rim (Lipan and Mather point). Both has excellent view and photo ops! Love, love the south rim location. So much better than the west rim we visited 14 years ago (though they have the skywalk). I have to say.. you haven't seen Grand Canyon unless you've been to South rim. Bucket list ✔️.

Literally such a great beautiful spot. We took the bus for some of the view points and drove for the others, definitely worth the time and experience such a grand experience. Was an experience of a lifetime, will always remember this.

My favorite viewpoint at the Grand Canyon! Sunsets here are amazing. Parking is small so get there early.

Breath taking views and unique scenery. It would be great if you come early morning for sun rise or in evening for sun set. The views were amazing as I went at Sunset.

Dated on Wednesday, October 2nd Took my mother there because it was her first time being there! She was overwhelmed and much joy! Also, it was my second time being there. Lipan Point is so unbelievable and unbeatable. It was very windy at the top! 👌🏼👌🏼

For me the most beuatiful spot along the whole Grand Canyon. We had a BBQ here and watched the sunset in absolute silence and solitude. Magnificent.

Yelp
I try to stop at as many points as I can when driving along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Each spot offers a different perspective of this beautiful canyon. Lipan Point isn't too crowed and offers the longest perspective of the Colorado River. If you look at the bottom of the canyon, you can see the tilted layers of the Grand Canyon Supergroup. Because of the erosion of the rocks in this group, the best views of the Colorado River are exposed. The varied strata add a lot of color and texture to bring out the beauty of this viewpoint. Most people hang around the visitor centers which makes viewpoints like this less packed and more enjoyable to hang around at. Lipan Point is a great spot to take photos. I was fortunate enough to shoot some pictures with clouds in the background as I came on a light rainy day. There is a sign telling you where to turn when driving on Desert View Drive.

Yelp
My favorite point in the south rim of Grand Canyon national Park. Most people go to just a few view points next to the visitor center, we actually spend time and hit all the spots on our most recent trip. And after saying all these different stopping point I have to say this one is my favorite place in terms of you not a lot of crowds easy parking and stunning photo opportunities. If you have time to venture away from the main tourist attractions to visit this place you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This was our last stop around the canyon and one of my favorite spots. There is a small area you can walk out onto and look down to see the river and the rapids. Somedays the water is bluer than others and it is easier to see, but even when it isn't as blue, it is still beautiful. There were a lot of tour groups stopping here, so if you are traveling on your own through the Grand Canyon, make sure to check for the turn off for Lipan Point.

Yelp
We didn't stop at sunset but I understand why people recommend you do so. Lipan point provides sweeping views of the Canyon. Worth a short stop along your Desert View Drive

Yelp
I had read reviews about how this was people's favorite spot at the Grand Canyon and I totally agree. Beautiful, not as many tourists and some really cool places to take pictures that make you look really adventurous but it's not as scary as the photos look haha. Highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
Great Sunrise! The sky was clear, the air was crisp, and the sun appeared on the horizon as scheduled. For the next 45 minutes, the colors became more and more brilliant in the canyon. It has been said many, many times, but sunrise at the Grand Canyon is a truly breathtaking experience. Get up early, and make it happen!

Yelp
Please forget this point exists. Don't go here. If you get out of the parking lot you just might find the sweetest spot on the South Rim. So go to Mather, Hopi, Yavapai, any point but Lipan. Save it for me.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a romantic picnic. Not too much over crowding. Mostly people stopping for quick vista pictures before getting back on the road. This picture was taken April 2nd, 2016. The weather was perfect, sun was shining and breeze was cool about 4:30-5pm. The views are unreal and a small parking lot accommodates for easy access to viewpoint without needing to hike. We didn't open the champagne bottle because we were unsure about alcohol regulations in the Grand Canyon. Parking pass is $30 that is good for 7 days in the National park and re-entry is permitted.
