Lipica

Winter weather visit but you can still see the famous horses here. Not everything was open, so I mostly had the entire experience without crowds of visitors startling the horses. Well stocked souvenir store and if it's important to you the toilets were very clean and comfortable. My only negative thought was that the carriage displays are in desperate need of non-glare glass, impossible to see the displays in the daylight hours without smashing your cupped face right up against the glass.

A wonderful place to visit with family even young children. There are many places to visit to learn about the history of the stud farm and the reading of the show horses. If you plan well you can also take in a show here and it is well worth the time to do so. There are places to eat and have refreshments so it is easy to make a day of it here. Plenty of places for the young ones to play and run around.

Lovely place to visit. Do take your time to walk around (especially along the paths or road leading to Lipica from the south) to catch some dreamlike scenery of the mares and their foals in their pastures. The restaurant is decent and serves food at fair prices.

We had a wonderful day at this large, historic place dating from 1580. In fact they were hosting a celebration of their 444th anniversary on 15 Sep 2024 a few days after our visit. We arrived in about an hour driving from Portoroz and got there in time to take the noon tour in English. Our guide took our group of around 20 around the property, into historic stables explaining all the history behind these amazing animals. Afterwards we had a nice lunch in the hotel before heading back inside the arena for the 3 PM show. (Be sure to check the schedule-only offered a few times a week-we saw it on Friday). While you can’t take any photos or video it was amazing watching the 45-minute show set to classical music. Cost for entrance plus show was 25€ pp plus 3€ for parking which you can pay at the main ticket booth (bring your license plate info) instead of the dumb machines by the parking. You can spend as much time as you like wandering around. There’s a small museum and even a church (former bishopric). Highly recommended

Great place to see beauty of the horses. Show performed by professional riders and guided tour via few stables shows how the lipizan horses are living and gives also context about its long tradition and history.

We did the stud tour by ourselves since we had a dog. It was a nice visit, but we feel it is a bit expensive... Maybe if we attended a guided tour it would have been better. Beautiful horses and surroundings! Due to lack of time, have been only able to enjoy caressing those beautiful horses outside. Very calming and enjoyable! It’s a must do experience 🐴🤗🇸🇮 Next time going to spend a weekend at their hotel!

We had a great experience in the farm with a 15 mins (€20) carriage ride on top of the farm entrance including the museum. The staff is so friendly & helpful. The multi option guided tour is certainly a bonus.
