So a long overdue visit to Lir, been watching this place grow since they started from afar and was very excited to try it out since I moved home. It was better than I hoped, only marked down on service as a couple of times we needed to chase something we asked for, but the food, wow the food. Absolutely beautiful and will definitely be back again soon.

Absolutely fantastic little gem in Coleraine, beautiful food all sourced locally, sustainable and traceable. Oysters were hands down the best I've ever had. Menu changes based on what's caught, but there's plenty to please everyone with some veg and meat dishes alongside the fish. Desserts were paid the same attention and didn't let down the rest of the food. Wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Fantastic price for such a high quality of food - we spent about £45 per person for 2 courses and a bottle of wine (and some oysters!).

I went with my husband to lunch for our anniversary. It was all perfect! All the staff were so kind and friendly. The food was of exceptional quality! Delicious dishes! The atmosphere was so relaxing on the banks of the River Bann. We will definitely go back!!

We decided to drive from Belfast to experience dinner at this Rick Stein recommended restaurant. It certainly didn’t disappoint!! We were shown to a great seat at the window overlooking the marina and surrounding countryside. Even on a dull evening it was still a spectacular view. From the moment we arrived staff were so courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. We opted for the a la carte menu. While awaiting our first courses we both enjoyed some of their non alcoholic drinks. I chose the tomato ‘juice’ which was anything but ordinary. More like a light and fragrant cocktail. So tasty and beautifully prepared that I had to have another with my meal! A lovely touch was that the member of bar staff responsible for making it delivered it personally to our table and explained how it was made. My husband had a kombucha drink - also very enjoyable. We love fish - any fish/seafood - and it was great to see that Coley featured on the menu. But first the oysters!! I couldn’t resist. What a great way they presented them - brought on a trolley to the table with a variety of toppings. You can choose what to put on top of each oyster. I tried all of them! My favourites were the buttermilk foam and the Asian one. A really novel and fun way to serve oysters. My husband chose the squid starter. It looked and tasted amazing. We both opted for the coley main course which was cooked to perfection. It was accompanied by a potato rosti, baby broad beans and salsify cooked 3 ways. The braised salsify tasted and had the texture of firm asparagus but the purée was more nutty in flavour. A great accompaniment. In addition we enjoyed a side of tenderstem broccoli and the fennel and radicchio salad. Both sides had added extras such as nuts and seeds and tasty dressings. Both of us decided that two courses was just perfect. Tea and coffee were enough to make us fully satisfied. Thank you to all the attentive staff and to the kitchen for producing one of the best seafood meals we have ever enjoyed. We will be back to try the tasting menu! The sun even emerged from the clouds to make a perfect sunset!

Came here again in 2024… and glad to report that the food a year on is still outstanding as is the service and ambiance. Really lovely place to come… attention to detail on everything. Definitely one of the best places on the North Coast to eat. Cocktails are really good but they also have a great wine list and nonalcoholic juices. 1st time here (2023) but definitely won’t be the last. The setting is lovely overlooking the river, there’s an outside area that is perfect in this weather. Had the milkshake cocktail it was delicious. Seated inside with window view, all the food was delicious, thought the coley main was outstanding as were the starter mussels. Went back outside to have desert & another bottle of wine as we were enjoying the ambience so much. Staff are delightful, this if definitely the best food in the area…Well done everyone involved.

Our first time in Lir and what can I say ? Brilliant. The food is absolutely amazing and made with fresh ingredients with care taken to detail. The staff are so helpful and the server we had was very attentive, helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu . For the quality of the food you're being served the pricing is spot on . Most definitely be back to this wonderful establishment
