"Yes, a cruise terminal can also be a design showpiece. The Portuguese architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça conceived this structure, which is sustainable and built with concrete and cork. The building is raised from the ground, giving it the appearance that it’s floating in the air, and features a rooftop terrace with views of the river and city. A walking path around the terminal encourages visitors to explore the exterior."

I have sailed out of this terminal several times. The queues can be a bit long but the views are great and last minute shopping is available. An almost perfect place to begin or end your NCL cruise.

Lisbon central and the cruise port terminal are definitely places to visit and walk around. There is also the bus system and tram to move around the area. There are also tuk tuk tours and vintage style Model T's to ride. There are so many coffee shops and restaurants to check out. Be sure to try the famous Portugese pastry made with almond and egg custard.

Just a place to board the cruise, otherwise nothing to see. They have toilet in one of the restaurant upstairs but have to pay 1€ / pax. Cool building though

Easy access for getting on and off cruise ships. Clean and efficient. We had to get our passports stamped in emigration. We used the new biometric data capture whilst there. It was straightforward for us, but I wander what it will be like if a big cruise ship docks and all the data needs collecting at once... I suspect there will be delays and queues.

When cruise ships are docked, their engines run continuously, significantly increasing air pollution. Loudspeaker announcements start at 7AM, even on Sundays, and carry across the neighbourhood. On windy days, residents receive the full impact, forced to keep windows shut against the noise and exhaust fumes. The decision to build a cruise terminal in the city centre in 2017 was a short-sighted political choice, made without regard for its long-term consequences—particularly as, by that time, most cities were relocating cruise terminals outside their centres.

Called here while on a 12 night Canary Islands Cruise, we were aboard the beautiful MSC Virtuosa. The port of Lisbon was a gateway to the fantastic city of Lisbon itself, and what a great day we had in the world's 2nd oldest city. The local food and drink was absolutely excellent, and the well known custard tarts can only be described as outstanding. To be honest they were miles apart from the ones we have tried here in the UK, and selection of beers and wines were very varied. The weather was excellent and was averaging a very warm 36c, this was at times too warm for me to be honest. We found the old town to be very quaint with cobbled streets, cobbled pavements and pretty hilly. We came across the old lift/viewing tower which was very picturesque, the amount of people queuing to access it was horrendous, so did not use it this trip. We decided to do the climb up to the platform, great views but was a tad warm around the edges when we got there. Would highly recommend a trip to this lovely city, we will definitely be returning soon.

Visited today on board Iona, lovely terminal, with good transport links and toilets. Staff helpful. Duty free shop on the way back in which sells all the normal stuff but no signs of it being duty free in prices only name… check your prices with the UK I would suggest.
