Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre

We spent two nights here and had a good time. Food is pricey but delicious and huge portions. Kids eat free which is nice. Facilities and buildings could certainly use some upgrades and a deep cleaning. But my bed was clean and comfortable, and the stunning views and unique landscaping made it a great experience. There's a lot to explore on this property, every time we went for a walk we would find something new! The farm animals are so sweet and a big hit with my kids.

This resort needs serious updating and improvement as it is very scruffy. We had booked a chalet for two nights. We checked in and were given keys. When we got to the chalet the bed linen had not been changed from previous occupants and the room hadn’t been cleaned. Curtains were damaged and the whole chalet looked very poor. We complained and were immediately shown a room in the main lodge which was slightly better although the carpet was old and dirty. We took this as we had no other option. We got the feeling that we weren’t the first people this had happened to. Food in the restaurant was average but little options for gluten free which we needed for my wife. It’s a shame as the location of the lodge is lovely and it could be so much better if it was updated and maintained properly.

We stayed one night at Liscombe Lodge. The weather wasn't the best but the staff made up for it! Chester was an awesome river boat tour captain with boundless knowledge of the area (he should have it, he's hardly ever left in his entire life!). The entire lodge staff went above and beyond at every little thing. We felt very welcome and appreciated. We were truly happy with our stay.

The resort is the only accommodation for miles. It was only the second weekend opening of the season. Full opening was another week. The accommodation is tired. Needs updating and a lick of paint. Food was reasonably priced and good quality, particularly the breakfast and the staff were helpful. Setting is lovely.

Stayed here this summer with family. I was expecting alot more. I was quite disappointed. The game room is very poor, everything is well loved or broken. The pool needs some updating. Our rooms weren't even ready for some of our family when they arrived. No one seemed to know what was going on. They seemed to be short staffed.The hiking trails are all run down and not maintained. The only good thing about this place is the view and Chester the boat captain. It's pricey for what it is. I don't think I'll ever go back.

A lovely, quaint place to stay. Restaurant is solid with good selection and delivery. Highly recommended for your Nova Scotia travels or business retreat.

Great seafood chowder and martini, plus a local beer. Nice service. Second visit in past 15 years. Just as pleasant as I recalled.

This past weekend my partner and I took a road trip down to the lodge with high expectations. And yes, though the room was nice and the location was stunning, the service was okay at best. Rooms were not touched, and clean towels were not provided for our 3+ day stay. As well, the dining hall was very strange. Breakfast and lunch were not accommodating of the food allergies my partner and I had, and the servers knew very little about the menu. However, when we went in for dinner the staff was fabulous and very well versed with the menu and accommodations. The pool was not clean, and the games room was missing lots of crucial equipment from each activity. Overall, the stay was decent. Buy these things made it difficult to enjoy some of the lodges amenities.

Outstanding, reasonably priced meals! And for mariners like us, a friendly wharf with freshwater, diesel, and total protection from the weather.

The location is beautiful and the staff are very kind but the food in the restaurant was beyond terrible. Super over priced, bland flavour and rubbery texture. If you come, bring your own food or you will be incredibly disappointed.

This review focuses on the restaurant in the lodge and not the lodge itself. It was a nice place to have dinner. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and courteous. From our table there was a great view of the Liscomb River flowing by. (photo posted). As for the food, it was OK. I tried the plank salmon and the ribs. Both were edible, but nothing to write home about. (Instead I'm leaving my opinion on Yelp!)

I've been to Liscombe Lodge a lot. I grew up not far away, so lots of community BBQs, Christmas craft fairs, swimming in an indoor pool (which was a big deal). I've never stayed here, but have eaten at the restaurant and snooped around the common areas. It's built in a beautiful natural space! Lots of trails to hike, the river that runs through there has great looking rapids, as you can see from the photos. The cabins look really nice, and from photos... look lovely on the inside. Growing up it was a really fancy place, and now that I'm old, and have been to other resorts, I'd say, it still stands up. I love nature and being surrounded by it, so if I needed a resort style cabin to stay in, this place would be my jam.

My family and I have been here twice now. We've changed our family vacation spot from oak island to liscombe lodge. We ate at the restaurant numerous times and the service and food are terrific. We could always find something to do and we can't say anything negative about this place. As a restaurant owner I feel that I'm highly critical of places and a good judge of excellent service. So thanks liscombe lodge keep up the good work.
