Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre

Our room was very clean, comfortable and decorated beautifully. The restaurant has excellent service and delicious menu choices. The breakfast buffet was exemplary. The grounds are beautifully looked after and we enjoyed the farm animals. Our favorite thing was the pontoon boat tour with our guide Chester. He was incredibly knowledgeable and gregarious. Every staff member we came in contact with provided exceptional service and are worth their weight in gold! Can't wait to return.

If you want an escape where you can unplug and disconnect this is the spot. The views are beautiful from the rooms and the restaurant. We stopped in at the end of the season for the holiday weekend package with the Sherbrooke Village. The staff were so friendly, even to my kiddos. The trails were overgrown so we opted out of those, especially since the swinging bridge is still closed. Its unfortunate the government hasn't done more to support this absolute gem of Nova Scotian Hospitality. They have a petting zoo which was a bit small for the amount of animals in the cages. The only down side to visit at the end of the season is the lack of housekeeping services. The pool clearly needed to be scrubbed and the towels were piled up and there was no pool tools left in the pool area. Of course the kids still had a blast, the pool was super warm and theres lots to see around the property. We are looking forward to a visit during the regular season to check out all the activities.

Our favourite resort in Nova Scotia! We travel around Nova Scotia a lot and have been meaning to stay here for a while. We finally did, and it did not disappoint. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of work into the resort over the past few years. While there’s still more to come, it’s already fantastic. The restaurant was excellent, with great service and delicious food. They were very accommodating of my wife, who has celiac disease. The fall menu offered plenty of options, and they even created a custom meal using several dishes to accommodate her allergy and preferences. You can’t beat the views around the property or from the balconies of the riverside rooms. My wife also loved seeing all the animals they now have on site. It was such a nice touch!

What an amazing setting and helpful and kind staff you have. Our stay was truly fun and rewarding! We had an amazing set of activities at our disposal. Kids loved the SUPs and we had kayaks. Great for exploring the river/sea. We also hired MTBs and made use of the local dirt roads/ trails. Do take the hike up to the fish ladder and suspension bridge. It says the bridge is closed but it’s perfectly passable. Do take bug spray! Rooms were a bit dated in some aspects but the views and facilities made up for this. Well worth a couple of nights in an amazing setting!

Enjoyed our 2 nights in August as a couple. It's our 3 time staying here and already are planning our next stay. Very relaxing place. Staff in dining room very good , especially Krista & Tony.Food was very good. Enjoyed Wednesday night Pub night. The front desk ,Sharon & Jean very nice. I do not care for streaming services on TV as I do not have any subscription to any.The scenery made a relaxing getaway . See you next year.

Attended a wedding here. Although it was a far drive from the city, the venue was worth it. Gorgeous property on a river with lots of family friendly attractions and amenities. Wish we extended our stay for the weekend as I hadn’t known the number of things the lodge offers. Trails surround the lodge along with tennis court, basketball court, petting zoo, indoor swimming pool and sauna. Aside from the stunning view of the water, the lodge offers paddle boards, canoes and boat tours. The wedding food was absolutely delicious, and the breakfast buffet (although pricey) was also incredible. Looking forward to going back sometime as a family getaway. Please note there is no cell service, wifi only. ( I personally found it a bonus!)

The scenery is stunning, the food is good and the staff are really helpful. The rooms are comfortable. However, a lot of it needs updating in particular the pool and (in our room) the bathroom. |That said it’s a great place to stay for a few days or as a stopover on a tour. |There are no lifts but plenty of parking.

It's a long established hotel, so the rooms are a little old fashioned - but perfectly clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony, pictured,more than made up for minor deficiencies. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and efficient. The dinner was the best we've had in the last 2 weeks.

Outstanding, reasonably priced meals! And for mariners like us, a friendly wharf with freshwater, diesel, and total protection from the weather.

The location is beautiful and the staff are very kind but the food in the restaurant was beyond terrible. Super over priced, bland flavour and rubbery texture. If you come, bring your own food or you will be incredibly disappointed.

This review focuses on the restaurant in the lodge and not the lodge itself. It was a nice place to have dinner. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and courteous. From our table there was a great view of the Liscomb River flowing by. (photo posted). As for the food, it was OK. I tried the plank salmon and the ribs. Both were edible, but nothing to write home about. (Instead I'm leaving my opinion on Yelp!)

I've been to Liscombe Lodge a lot. I grew up not far away, so lots of community BBQs, Christmas craft fairs, swimming in an indoor pool (which was a big deal). I've never stayed here, but have eaten at the restaurant and snooped around the common areas. It's built in a beautiful natural space! Lots of trails to hike, the river that runs through there has great looking rapids, as you can see from the photos. The cabins look really nice, and from photos... look lovely on the inside. Growing up it was a really fancy place, and now that I'm old, and have been to other resorts, I'd say, it still stands up. I love nature and being surrounded by it, so if I needed a resort style cabin to stay in, this place would be my jam.

My family and I have been here twice now. We've changed our family vacation spot from oak island to liscombe lodge. We ate at the restaurant numerous times and the service and food are terrific. We could always find something to do and we can't say anything negative about this place. As a restaurant owner I feel that I'm highly critical of places and a good judge of excellent service. So thanks liscombe lodge keep up the good work.
