The Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival in Ireland Brings Together Singles Burnt Out by Modern, High-tech Dating
"I visited the quiet town of Lisdoonvarna (population: 1,000), nestled along the rugged coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way in western Ireland, and watched it come alive every September, bursting with upwards of 60,000 visitors all looking for the same thing: love at the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival." - Bernadette Keith
We passed through, not open until September, we done a little shopping, had a bit to eat, lovely little town.

As someone else has commented, it's a disgrace, a scam and a rip off that they don't allow parking on the roadside and force vehicles into the car park and charge campers €20 and cars €15. The word is that they were blocking the road especially when they'd park up on the opposite side. What utter bull. There is a hard shoulder/margin perfectly capable of taking vehicles as always has been the case. If parking on the opposite side was an issue why not put bollards there???? This is nothing more than greed and a money making exercise and I really hope it backfires. Just sick of rip off Ireland

Very bad this year left after 1/2 an hour. No room to dance , queues for the toilets were unreal, to get to the bar virtually impossible. Too many people were very very drunk. 10 of us regular lisdoon goers left a d paid additional taxi fare back to lahinch. Saturday nights are a disaster. Badly organized
