This is just based on my first visit. I went here to meet a friend for lunch. The service was exceptional. It's been a while since I have had the delight of being served by staff who knew the menu. The decor was absolutely gorgeous, and the food was tasty. Vegan options are also available. I'm really looking forward to my next visit

We got married in this hotel May 2025 and we could not recommend it more. Not only is the venue beautiful and the food amazing (the pear and honey cake is to die for) but the staff is incredible. They are very polite and courteous and went above and beyond to make sure ourselves and our guests were comfortable on the day of. Patrice was very helpful throughout the planning process and had a plethora of advice. This team allowed my husband and I to float through the day with very little worries and no one was badgering us with questions. The bridal suite is also the perfect getting-ready location.

We were visiting for Listowel Writer’s Week and decided to go to the Listowel Arms for a bite to eat around 4pm one afternoon .||We did not have a reservation but were seated promptly . It was not busy at the time .|We were given a bottle of tap water and were not asked if we would like any drinks from the bar . When the food arrived it was mediocre and certainly not worth the price being charged . When we finished eating the server cleared our table and never asked if we would like to have coffee or dessert !!!||We felt like we were a hindrance rather than a paying customer . In fact the mannequins in the window of the boutique up the street would have been more welcoming than the staff we encountered . ||The bathrooms were clean with hot water, soap and hand lotion . ||We decided to go to another establishment in the town for coffee , desserts and a couple of drinks and have to say had a much better experience .||In this day and age the Listowel Arms would need to “ Up their game “ when it comes to Customer Service and invest in some staff training !!!!

Went to the restaurant, there is a lovely atmosphere but the menu needs up dating only ONE vegan option and it’s a curry which I do appreciate something , but when I want something small or even pototes and veg it has to be pre made with butter which is unfortunate. I had to go for chips and salad which was nice but I expected more options . For a hotel it’s very poor with options and it needs to do better!!

This Hotel always had a good reputation for food but in recent times we have found it has certainly slipped. A few months ago on a Saturday morning we went in for Breakfast .What we didn't realise was there had been a wedding the day before and the guests who had stayed over were being served breakfast also, we were in the bar we waited and waited the waitress was embrassed and kept bringing us tea it wasn't her fault obviously understaffed after about an hour breakfast came out all wrong orders there were 4 of usThey had to be sent back.At this point we were hungry and we told the waitress we would eat whatever they could give us.|We decided to give it another try last Saturday evening i ordered the Surf and turf and my husband ordered the tossed salad with chicken. So disappointing, my Prawns were fine but the pork belly was so small and dried up on the plate with the mash and veg coming out in a little bowl that had been sitting and reheated. The salad was the worst i have seen 16 euro for salad leaves a few bits of beetroot and Chicken from a packet on top, chips to go with it 4 euro as my husband said it was expensive grass.|We won't be back. The previous Thursday and Friday we had spent in The Killarney Royal Hotel it was fantastic with excellent food i would advise anyone to give the Listowel Arms a miss and stay in The Killarney Royal no comparison

I had the pleasure of going to The Listowel Arms for lunch, with family and friends. In the bar, we had a wonderful staff member wait on us who was full of knowledgeable and conversation, “AnneMarie” with a wealth of experience around the food wines. Definitely a 5star experience

Yelp
Had three rooms reserved here for a holiday stay in December 2023. Immediately upon going to our rooms we noticed several alarming things....all the bathrooms had black mold, one sink was not attached to the wall, two shower doors did not work and it took over 12 minutes to get lukewarm water to the shower and sink. When we asked the manager about that, they just said to be patient. When my wife sat on the chair in the room it broke in half. The room came with dinner, but three of us got violently sick that night and were vomiting the whole next day. The Listowell pharmacy said it sounded like food poisoning. When we brought all of this to the attention of Maggie at the front desk, she basically said oh well and would do nothing to help correct us having to stay in dirty, unsanitary rooms and get food poisoning from their food. She offer no credit even though we spent over 900 euros at the hotel. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of here.

Yelp
My family and I flew in from the United States for my best friends wedding. From the booking process, to check in, to meals, the room and the wedding overall- the experience was absolutely AMAZING. I own my own catering business back home and have been in the hospitality industry for about half my life and I have never experienced such hospitality (and great food)! Patrice and her team (especially chef) are running a top notch establishment and we will most certainly be coming back on our next trip! PS - make sure you try the afternoon tea - my dad recommends it! Gabrielle DellaDonna

Yelp
Sunday evening dinner. Let's try the Arms you think ..... Well don't. To start the tables in dining room were not clean. Even though it was almost empty. The food was awful. The sad part is I met a cook on her way home exhausted after a 13 hour day. She knows good food I bet. But isn't allowed make or serve it based on what we had. Soup my wife had was ok. I had Cesar salad which was served on a plate so hot the server had to use a towel to carry it. Salad on a piping hot plate WTHeck. The salad itself was tasty but come on. My wife had the summer salad for mains. You think light fresh crisp with a lemon or citrus dressing. Well it was so covered with an oily dressing and loaded with feta she couldn't eat more than half. I ordered roast of the day on ciabatta with chips. ( Chips were like €4 Extra). Sandwich arrived literally as described.... Toasted ciabatta with thick slices of dried out roast beef and a few green lettuce leaves. No dressing at all. It was so dry I could only eat half. I asked for mustard they only had Dijon, I like Dijon, but not a whole ramakin of the stuff. The fries arrived late, piping hot, unsalted. No vinegar or ketchup. A glass of wine and two beers and I got no change from €55. Please guys do better. Food is easy. Service is about training. And food service is about selling.

Yelp
Second meal on a different trip and got the full Irish breakfast. 10e. In fact all 4 of us did. We all substituted scones for the toast. All enjoyed and finished the meal. We love the setting and the service is generally good. Except getting the check but they were busy. No more banoffee pie.makes me sad.

Yelp
We just hosted my mothers 75th birthday here, and it was lovely. This hotel seems to defy physics, as it looks from the outside like a small store front, but opens out in back to a relatively large dining area. The interior has that nice level of old fashioned decor that seems to be recently renovated. The meal was good - pretty typical for a hotel in the country, but nicely prepared and the service was great. If you are dining there try to get a window in back over looking the river and race course. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Yelp
Have stopped here recently for lunch in the bar and the experience was excellent. The quality of food, the hospitality of the staff and the reasonable pricing just all scream excellent value for money.
