Google
Oh do we love the Litchfield candy store! My go to is the dark chocolate covered orange peels!! Every year for Christmas my husband will buy me a pound of these! And for valentines day a half pound along with the chocolate covered stem strawberries, a very lovely treat! And of course the kids will always get the little "fun" candies to satisfy their sweet tooth!

Google
So much more than penny candy. Homemade chocolates, specialty items, seasonal items and hard to find candies. A place for treats. The dark chocolate Swedish fish are the bomb!

I finally stopped in for the first time ever and I was pleasantly surprised. They have a huge variety of candy and treats in a small space. I picked up some treats for the kids for St.Patricks Day as well as some old time favorites. They have many of the harder to find candies and gums I grew up with. I left happy!

Google
Fun selection in this tiny candy shop. Unfortunately most of what we bought was either expired or very hard/almost bad.

Google
I've always had a pleasant experience shopping here. Whenever I've called first to ask if they had an item I was looking for, the person I'd speak with was always polite and helpful. Cute little store.

Google
Always a favorite spot to stop during a road trip. It's a little pricey but has a great selection of goodies.

My yearly Christmas request is their Salted Chocolate Caramels which are to die for. Truffles also amazing. I've never been here but my husband always says he has a great experience. He is the coffee repair guy.

Google
Great little shop with lots to offer. Kids love it here. But as for adults don't just drive by and wonder- you may be surprised as I was at the nostalgic candies from the past. He has an array of oldies as well as chocolate etc. I recommend checking it out youd be surprised the goodies packed inside. ~enjoy!

Yelp
Stopped into see if this shop sold Chocolate covered Gummy Bears -- and they did ! My wife loved the Gummy Bears I bought for her here, they were high quality. Haven't been able to find a place which sold those gummy bears since our local candy shop shut down a few years ago, so I was ecstatic when I came across The Litchfield Candy Company. The shop was loaded with a wide assortment of candies, I bought a piece of eggnog fudge for myself (it was excellent). Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the candy business, we had a good conversation which was very educational for me. An Easy 5 Star rating, looking forward to many return visits.

Yelp
Litchfield Candy is such a cute store ! It's small but packed with virtually every kind of candy you could imagine. They also have several different kinds of fudge along with other chocolate candies. They decorated the store for Valentines Day - really nicely done. I bought some fresh chocolate dipped strawberries and walnut fudge for myself. I had a nice talk with the woman working there, very helpful and kind. Very relaxed atmosphere. I couldn't believe they managed to fit all that stuff into a one room store. Whoever owns it, clearly has a passion for candy and sweets. Very well done ! If I'm ever back in the area, will definitely return.

Yelp
When you walk in, the smell hits you - chocolate, candy, sugar... It's positively delicious. It is a small store, and never fear, they have multiple reserved parking spots in the back. They have all sorts of candy available - some brand names, loose pieces, bagged. For the holidays, they have premade platters and boxes available. You can also make your own box of truffles, which are enticingly displayed in two cases. It is pricer than say, a generic box at CVS, but the chocolate is rich and all so much more original, it's definitely worth it. They also have so much variety, you'll find something for everyone in your party. There is a fee passed forward for paying with a credit card, so bring cash!

Yelp
Candy is not made by Litchfield Candy. It is STALE. Creams were hard as rocks, grapefruit candy had zero flavor and the toffee was old with rancid nuts.

Yelp
I was in the area for a road race and had to stop here on my way out. It is a small place with so much candy and cases crammed with homemade truffles and chocolate treats. It was close to Valentine's Day so I stocked up on a bunch of goodies for friends and family. There were plenty of pre-made chocolate covered caramel and truffle boxes. You could also fill boxes with your own choices from their displays. There was something there for everyone. If chocolate is not your thing, there was a large selection of gummies and sour candies. The truffle flavors ran the gamut and some of them were a little bit bigger compared to others I have had. Highly recommend a stop in!

Yelp
A wonderful candy shop with so many great choices to choose from. They also sell Vermont nut-free chocolate. Second time here in the past month and happy to see heart hot cocoa bombs. So yummy and easy to make. Love all the chocolate covered candy choices. A must visit place if you love sweets.

Yelp
Little shop of wonders - we adore this little candy box next to Meraki. I bring my daughter to get 'penny' Candy in a white bag, she loves picking them out. They have chocolate by the pound and many seasonal treats. Truffles look amazing, we never leave empty handed. The owners are so nice as well. Support small business!!

Yelp
Delicious truffles for special occasions, and plenty of choices for bringing kids in for an after-school treat. Owners are super friendly! Gummy animals are our favorites.

Yelp
This is a really nice candy shop - it reminds me of the ones you see all over the place in Western New York. They have piles of candy and chocolate everywhere. At the time we visited, it was during the run up to Easter, so there was stuff all over the place. The guy behind the counter was really friendly and helpful. I asked if they had sponge candy (a WNY staple) and they did! I got a couple of pieces along with some caramels, and Lee picked up some buckeyes and some ice cubes. They had a bunch of those old-school obscure candy brands as well. I was a little bit disappointed in the sponge candy (it had gotten moisture into it at some point, so it was more chewy than crispy) but the other candy we picked up was perfectly fine. Really nice shop run by nice people!

Yelp
It's like a place where grand mother welcomes and gives you candies. It's a lovely and adorable candy shop in Litchfield. I was trying to go to a restaurant and saw this place. When I entered, it was full of sweets and it smelled so good!! I couldn't just pass so I got some home made chocolate. The almond caramel chocolate was pretty good. The truffles chocolate was just okay. Even if you don't buy anything here, you can just stop by and check this out if you are in this area. It's a cute place!

Yelp
From birch beer to Lucille Ball chocolates- you can fine candy from way beck when to current selections. They have a wide variety of licorice - truffles, chocolates, gummies, and so much more. I always feel like a kid in there and leave with some memorable treats that bring back memories of walking home from school with my little bag of candy

Beth C.

Yelp
Nice little candy shop we found while in the area. All of your traditional old school penny candy choices plus many others. Their chocolate choices are very good too!

Yelp
This place has every kind of candy you can hope for. I asked if they could ship some candy to my mom in rural Florida. They checked with the post office to figure out the best day to ship so the candy would not be stuck in a post office in hot Florida overnight (post office in Florida is closed on Saturdays in addition to Sundays). They definitely went above and beyond to be sure she got it without the chocolate being melted. The owner is so friendly. It is a perfect place for gifts for loved ones and a nice little treat for yourself.

Alice D.

Yelp
Amazing candy shop. Such a great selection and at very fair prices. The chocolates are delicious. And the owner is such a nice man.

Chelsea D.

Yelp
Cute candy and chocolate shop! They have some pre boxed goodies that I purchased for a gift. Owner was very friendly and willing to chat! Will return!

Yelp
The best candy store I have been to. It was just chock full of every candy and chocolate I could imagine. It was not unlike walking into a childhood dream. The truffle display was full of beautiful, delicate chocolates like I've only seen on TV or imagined how I imaged Honeydukes would be as a kid. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
The sweetest little candy shop on earth. I'm serious. It's like going to a magical little fairy tale house surrounded by the greatest selection of truffles, holiday candies, old fashioned taffy, and nostalgic candy that you can't get in most places. Over the holidays, and for my milestone birthday, I came to Litchfield Candy Company and purchased over $150 in truffles and wrapped candies and and I received a free bag of candy from the owner. This is place that everyone in the Northwest Corner needs to visit. The small, red a-frame house, covered in lights, is a landmark and a dream come true for kids of all ages.

Yelp
I really love this place. But this is my second experience with a certain person that works there. The owner is a very nice & respected guy. A older guy that that works with him has got to go.i was in there on 12/22/19. Said to my wife we will come back later. To get more stuff. So just for the moment, I was just getting 4-pieces of candy. When I showed the guy what I was getting, he rolled his eyes. Like I was wasting his time. Made a rude jester. I'm going to go back very soon. Tell the owner. And hope that rude guy is still there. I will give him a piece of my mind. So if you want to get treated nice. Spend some money. It's all about the money. But truly folks. Check out Fascia's in Waterbury. There prices a much better. Sorry Litchfield Candy Co. But I'm Disappointed in you. You lost my business. Plus everyone I know. FIRE THAT RUDE DISRESPECTFUL GUY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
How can you not love this place??? I love that they have old time candy. They also have some novelty items, unique flavored peanuts, and the most amazing "chocolate covered" case EVER! If you're having a sweet craving, and muster up a buck, you'll feel like a kid in a candy store!

Yelp
Wonderful Old fashioned candy store . You open the door and thousands of memories come flooding back. They carry many of the old favorites. Licorice from around the world, Irish potatoes, spice jelly beans, barley malt lollipops, homemade zagnut bars and tons more. They also have handmade truffles and glazed apricots dipped in chocolate, a personal favorite. The owner Elmer was friendly and helpful as was Christine who works there. We came for Easter candies for the family and walked out with hand made Easter eggs and a huge bag of goodies.

Yelp
I love this little candy store :) it has a great selection for its size and the owners are friendly and helpful. Quaint store that my kids love plus it's close to home

Yelp
Elmer is as sweet as his the candy in his shop, great prices and loaded with hard to find candy from your youth. Plus Connecticut soda!

Yelp
The store has a mixture of truffles from all over the world, at a great price. It has syrups, nuts from virginia, and fresh fudge. There is always something unique in the store, and the owner is very friendly and always gives great deals. Highly reccommended!

Yelp
I was quite surprised upon visiting Litchfield Candy recently. I am a fairly frequent customer but have decided to no longer visit the store because of my last experience in the store. Litchfield Candy is run by 2 men, Elmer and John. Elmer is a pretty friendly guy, he is generous and kind. John might be the most bitter person I've seen. I don't know what his problem is. When I last came into the store, John was hitting on me and making unwanted sexual advances. I ignored him, and he got the message I did not want to talk to him. their new employee--a teenage girl-- got me what I ordered and rang me up. She was a pretty and very friendly girl, Didn't seem to be making any mistakes. Always a good thing. When I turned my back to walk out, John was talking to her like she was a worthless being. It broke my heart. She was very kind but John was unappreciative and the way he spoke to her was unnecessary and VERY unkind. Mind you, the girl made no mistakes with my order, and I was very pleased with how nice it looked. I cannot believe what he said, and I WISH I was lying when I say that he told her she was doing a terrible job and will likely cost the company so many customers and money. If anything, she was making the store better. I commented on new decorations and she happily claimed they were her work. The store looked good. I will never step foot back in this place again knowing how the owners treat their employees. The store is expensive but I went there just to support local business. I could get anything at CVS for at least 5 dollars cheaper. I think I will have a little more cash now. Litchfield candy really is not a nice environment.

Yelp
My Jujubes were stale! They usually are hard as rock and break your teeth. These crumbled in my mouth. They even had a white dusty look to them. Very disappointing.
