When I first saw the Gabinete Literario in Gran Canaria, I was immediately impressed by its stunning architecture. From the outside, the building exudes an air of classic elegance, with its neoclassical style and intricate details that immediately caught my eye. The grand columns, decorative elements, and symmetrical design made it look like a piece of history, standing proudly amidst the surrounding area. Even though I didn’t get a chance to enter, the exterior alone was enough to make a strong impression. The façade, with its refined touches, felt like it had a story to tell, and I could imagine how beautiful and historic the interior must be. The building’s combination of classical features with a sense of grandeur really made it stand out as a cultural gem in Las Palmas. It felt like a place where important moments in literature and culture have unfolded. I’m eager to return and explore more of its beauty from the inside, but even just viewing the Gabinete Literario from the outside was an experience in itself.

It’s not only a disappointment it’s a disaster! due to change of management. This place has become an underdog(?) of gastronomy. Not only we have been there many times before, thrilled by real Spanish/international cuisine in 2022/23… no this year 2024 we planned an extra excursion to the old town just to enjoy this place, and discover that it has gone beyond imagination bad. First all tables are marked reserved ( with no customer is ever in view) then there is an amount of managing personal discussing whatever internal things. When we managed to get allowed to sit at one of the empty tables, we had food that you can find anywhere in the world, in this island, in Spain, wherever you want. Just basic, the only thing which is not basic is the price which keeps up high ranking… probably they only want to serve the club members. I pity them! If you go to your club, and you find food that has decreased in quality to this extent, you can only sit and cry! disappointing 😭😭

Absolutely stunning building, both inside and out. Sat on a busy square it's the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks and people watching. We also enjoyed a brunch here, as well as an evening meal. Both were tasty and good value for money, the service however was a little slow at times.

This place is incredible. The structure is very nice and historical. I attended to a candlelight concert and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life. Totally worth it to go have a look at it. Definitely recommend it

We travelled to see a Candlelight concert situated with in the Gabinete Literario. We were not disappointed, the building is quite beautiful and the musicians enthusiasm is quite contagious. Lovely evening spent in a lovely location

Building is stunning and we had an even more beautiful place to sit/eat outside. That is: if you get served at all. The waiter puts down a plate and cutlery but doesn’t brings the menu, neither did he asked if we wanted to drink something. I picked up the menu at a different table and saw that 10% service fee is automatically charged. The waiter never came to take an order. Both waiters did pass our table multiple times. After 10 minutes we got up and left. Wonder what’s the 10% for… 🤔

The Candlelight concerts are a fantastic musical experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. Enjoy!
