We are staying in a suite which was quite modestly priced for what you receive. Well sized room with king sized bed, living room, giant tub, small kitchenette, table to eat at, and so forth. The decor and grounds were Instagram friendly for those who are into that kind of thing.
The bed and bedding was very comfortable and had a wide variety of pillows to suit different needs/preferences.
The hot tub in the living room/kitchenette was huge and there was no lack of hot water (or water pressure in general) to fill it. As mentioned by other guests, the odor of sulfur filling the suite the does take getting used to, but as a hot spring lover didn't bug me a bit. It is rather amusing for your Toilet to smell like sulfur before use, and if you have a gassy mate it's a perfect cover up lol. They do have a reverse osmosis filter for a drinking water tap so you don't have to drink funny smelling water.
Their daily tea service is a nice touch, with strawberries, some form of shortbread cookie, "scones", plus jelly and lemon curd to put on top. I use the quotation marks around scones because they were way fluffier, moister, and more delicious than any scones I've eaten before. They switch things up daily so you'll always have a variety of flavors to enjoy each day.
The resort offers two breakfasts, an earlier continental which features fresh scones, bread, tea, coffee, OJ, and Cranberry juice.
An hour later they bring out the hot breakfast items, which change daily. Theres always some form of meat, (ham, sausage, bacon, etc), hard boiled eggs and often some other preparation (scrambled, fritatta, etc), potatoes with onion and peppers, something else that changes daily (apple crisp, spiced apples w Oatmeal, cheese blintzes), plus yogurt with Granola and some kind of fresh fruit.
Staff are welcoming, friendly, and are very accommodating ( as is everyone else we have encountered in Ashland). They offer to make reservations for local restaurants, suggestions for places with entertainment, plus have cheeses and wines on offer. I cant comment on spa services but they do offer those as well.
A suggestion for anyone desiring not to rent a vehicle during their stay: Uber and Lyft rides can be a bit hard to come by in the evenings, but public transportation is reliable, regular in their pickup times, and very reasonable at $6 per day. If you aren't someone who likes partying until late in the evening it's a great option (service ends at 7 or 8 depending on the season).
Only suggestions (but not so egregious as to be a complaints): Toilet paper holders are annoying, as the roll falls off as you try to pull a sheet. I'd also prefer an adjustable shower head or better yet, one with the pole allowing for multiple positions and handheld use.
