What can I say? It’s not always easy to find healthy plant-based spots, but this one truly has it all. Along with the friendly staff and quick preparation, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. If you’re looking to treat yourself and your body to something good after a workout, Little Bird Kitchen is always a winner. Every time I’m in Auckland, I make sure to stop by and take a little break from everyday life! 🥰

I got the bird bowl, which I am not much of a fan of. The only nice thing I like about it is the roasted Kumara and salad. My friend got the banana mochi waffle, which we were surprised by. The mochi is part of the waffle. We thought it would be separate. My friend really enjoyed it. We also got the hot chocolate- raw cacao mug. You get to choose what milk you want it with, oat, almond or hazelnut. Overall service was good and the meals came out quickly. I would say the price is a bit on the high end though so I guess this place would be a nice place to treat yourself once in awhile.

I love this cafe sooo much. If you go there you must try the iced coffee shake and the bird bowl. The cheesecake is so delicious. Service is always amazing, the girls are super nice and friendly. A little bit pricey but it’s definitely worth it. Update: still love this place but unfortunately they changed the bird bowl, this one is not as good as the other one, nothing special about it, flavours are not as good. I wouldn’t order it again.

With great ambience, high quality tasty vegan meals this vegan restaurant / cafe has a lot going for it. We loved everything we had, I'm told the coffee was great too. The mushroom rosti and sprouted bread come recommended by me

Google
Lovely little cafe with an impressive selection of plant based cakes and sweets, while also serving lunches with full table service. I will be honest, I really did not enjoy my food at all, but the way the staff handled that was amazing. They inquired as to why to understand, made me feel comfortable about being honest and didn’t charge me. I couldn’t eat it so appreciated it. I will be back to try other items as I love creative vegan food but found specifically the Vietnamese Crepe to be extremely unbalanced. It had so many bitter and astringent elements and the texture was rough and stringy with an occasional mouthful of pickled carrot batons or cashew, none of which I was fond of. The pancake itself was almost more like injera in a Vietnamese style. I love injera and traditional Vietnamese pancakes - but this did not work for me. All the same - I will be back. I really appreciated the staff and options in general.

This is my happy place, such a great vibe and relaxing atmosphere. You can rest assured that the kai being served here is healthy and delicious. L O V E.

Google
Update (mid Feb 2024): I don’t often update my reviews, but man, the service has changed since we last came here. We went today, and the service was so slow even though there were 4 FOH staff and the restaurant was at 15-20% capacity. We waited at least 20 minutes to order, and then food was around a 30 minute wait on top of that. The food IS good, but when the staff look your way so little you can’t make a wave or eye contact to say you want to order is low key crazy. My partner and I definitely didn’t think a casual Saturday brunch would take > 60 mins. Would love to see service be at the counter only, as this could save time and streamline the ordering process, if waiting tables is not efficient for the staff. Whilst the food is good, not worth the wait. Original review (late 2024): The kai is amazing, with lots of gluten-free and dairy-free options. The corn toastie and waffles are both highlights!

Yelp
Cute restaurant just off the Main Street. Everything is gluten free, organic and vegan. The food is amazing and pastries look so fabulous that it is hard to choose. I ordered the acai bowl and a caramel bar bite. The bowl was garnished with edible flowers, delicious and healthy, no added sugar. The caramel bite was creamy and not very sweet, perfect. I did a takeout box with a slice of apple crumble. This also was very healthy with lots of nuts and fresh apple

Yelp
Gorgeous small cafe in Ponsonby with a large range of tasty vegan food. Keep an eye out for the weekly specials displayed on a chalkboard along the walls inside.

Yelp
This is the cutest cafe filled with amazing food (with vegan options). The matcha waffles were to die for and the green bowl was SO fresh and so delicious. Everything felt and tasted great and healthy

Yelp
Everything on this menu looked so creative and delicious! I wish I could've ordered more things to try. I ordered the kimchi pancake, Vietnamese crepe, hojicha latte, and cacao smoothie. Both the kimchi pancake and Vietnamese crepe were delicious savory dishes that left me perfectly satiated. The hojicha latte was good as well though I wish it were a tad sweeter. The cacao smoothie was sooooo good. I love my chocolate shakes and this one was not too sweet, the perfect thickness, and loved the nuts on the top that added a crunch to the drink. The ambiance was a very modern cozy and the servers were so friendly!

Yelp
Everything here is fantastic! Had the Vietnamese crepe, cacao shake and delicious passionfruit cheesecake. My friend had the matcha latte, kimchi burger and a few baked goods. The crepe was life changing, it had all of the herbs and crunch I love from Vietnamese food contained in a savory crepe. I was full but not stuffed afterward. Watch out for the chile slices if you're sensitive to spice. Staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about all of the ingredients used in their food. I can't eat nutritional yeast and the server knew exactly which items contained that and gave me lots of suggestions of dishes I could still have.

Yelp
Love everything here! The space, the people, and food. There was a bit of a wait, but I can see why it's so popular here. Highly recommend if you're visiting.

Yelp
This place has amaaaazing Vegan food!! The kumara pancakes are to die for. And the tumeric latte (I think I got a seasonal special) was amazing- and super decent sized. Everything was so good, I went back the following day! Only thing that was missing were more outlets and WiFi... I understand they want to keep people in conversation, and not sitting at computers all day. But I didn't know before hauling my computer and work stuff in! Other than that, amazing food.

Yelp
My favorite place to drop in for a quick healthy snack. Recommend the buckwheat crackle. Skip coffee here (unless you're a fan of matcha, to me its a weird combo) but try their juices or smoothie. I also had the opportunity to dine in on a Sunday morning. The food was amazing but the service was quite slow.

Yelp
Dear Little Bird, I love you but... You're just too popular. Your space is tiny (and thus) I feel claustrophobic when I'm near you (...I also really don't enjoy waiting over 45 minutes for a seat). It's truly a shame because your staff is cheery, your dishes & desserts are delectable, and I truly appreciate what you're going for but... I also like the breathe. Love, Me

Yelp
Little Bird has become Auckland's go-to for delicious raw/vegan/organic food. I am huge fan of their concept and give them huge props for being so creative in their execution. I mean, who knew you could make raw "Pad Thai"? The smoothies here are a must try. Some may think they are expensive ($9) but to them I say, "you get what you pay for" - these guys come extra large and are packed full of organic goodness. Yesterday I tried one that had pineapple, coconut, spinach and something else... it was tropical and tart (in a good way). On the recommendation of the staff, I paired this with their passionfruit cheesecake. I heard rave reviews about this raw cheesecake so must admit I was pretty excited about trying it first hand. The consistency is not really like cheesecake it is more dense and the filling, rather oddly, reminded me texturally of hardened oil. That's sounds gross but it wasn't gross, it was just weird and if i'm being honest, not for me. The service, on the other hand, is consistently good. Sometimes I feel Auckland cafes get a bit lax when it comes to service but not here. Walk in and you are immediately greeted by a waitperson and asked if you would like a table or takeaway. Plus, when I meandered in at 3pm yesterday the kitchen was technically closed and with it the smoothie machine but since they hadn't cleaned it yet, they were happy to make me one. Absolute gems! Warning: Parking is a nightmare.

Yelp
Yum! Visited today with a vegan friend & was blown away by Little Bird! We arrived at 10am (a Thursday) & was I surprised that it wasn't that busy, there were a few tables spare & definitely room for us, our two toddlers and prams. The cafe isn't wheelchair/pram friendly but they kindly have a sign stating staff will assist with wheelchairs. Next to our table was a baby on the hardwood floor playing with wooden toy vegetables in a basket. Cute touch that a vegan cafe in Ponsonby would offer toys to keep tots busy, but the floor was CLEAN. I mean, actually clean enough that my friend and I had no reservations about unleashing our kids & letting them join in on the fun. Saying that, the cafe isn't really set up for kids to be toddling around, there are stairs to fall down and many items at baby height to be snatched off shelves. We were lucky to have arrived just after the breakfast rush so the cafe had mostly emptied out, meaning our little ones had a good amount of room to explore safely (with us Moms keeping a close eye of course). I ordered a cold brew coffee with a side of hazelnut milk, my friend a spicy hot chocolate. We both ordered the BLAT, keen to try the coconut bacon as everything coconut is all the rage these days. The Unbakery's version of the common bagel is raw, seeded and delicious with a slighty chewy texture. The nut cheese was my favourite part - heavenly moreish with a nice kick of garlic. It was the first time I tried cold brew coffee, I'm not sure if it's exactly my thing, but will definitely give it another go in the future. To top it off we bought a piece of espresso 'cheese'cake to share & the texture was spot on, velvety smooth and very rich, like any good cheesecake should be. We will be back soon Little Bird - my vegan friend was impressed and you ticked all the right boxes in my book!

Yelp
The Kimchi Pancake was such a surprise. What amazing flavors and gluten free! The Turkish Delight Coffee is worth coming back for. Can't wait to come back and try more menu items.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Service is always slow. I usually arrive around 7:30 and I'm usually the only person or one other customer there. My food always takes around 45 minutes, one time it took nearly an hour. The last time I was there, a man ordered just five minutes before me and he received his food within 5 minutes and I ordered the same thing as him and mine took 45. He must be a regular and get faster service? Annoying. Anyway the food is super nutritious and delicious.

Yelp
I'm super into acai bowls or any smoothie that's served in a bowl for that matter. I unknowingly went to the downtown one to get their acai bowl and was told that one only has a limited dessert menu. Obviously made the trek to the other one with the bigger menu, and loved it! The atmosphere of place was the best part in my opinion. I got the mango smoothie bowl that was on special and a matcha latte with almond milk. The presentation of both of them was very cute, but I'd probably try something new next time as I wasn't wow 'd by either.

Yelp
I first visited Little Bird Unbakery with a friend in late 2013. After having trouble finding a park in Ponsonby, we were told we would have to wait an hour for a table. All that driving around made us ravenous and we couldn't wait that long, so instead we grabbed a Raw Mixed Berry Cheesecake from the cabinet and headed up to the main road for some quick (and healthy) food. A few weekends ago, I decided to try out Little Bird for brunch one Saturday. It is an incredibly popular place and one of the waitresses told us that it is normal in the weekends to wait about an hour for a table. To fill in time, I suggest browsing through the products they sell (the macaroons are delicious), scanning the menu, reading through their recently published cookbook and last but not least, deciding which sweet treat you will have after your main meal, because even though you may be full, you won't want to go home without trying something from their to.die.for sweet cabinet! We were eventually seated after an hour's wait and were super excited! To start with, I ordered their 'Smoothie of the day' (you can keep up to date via their Instagram and Facebook page) - a Spiced Chocolate Smoothie. Made with cacao, dates, vanilla, banana, almond milk, cashew butter and Little Bird's secret spice mix, the smoothie was creamy, rich and had just the right amount of spice. My friend ordered a Kombucha, which was just as tasty! It took us ages to decide what to have for brunch. I have a mega sweet tooth and whenever I see 'Waffles', 'Pancakes' or 'French Toast' I go crazy, so after seeing countless Instagram photos of their Buckwheat Waffles, I knew I just had to try them! Best waffles I have had, hands down. They are served with fresh berries, banana, maple syrup, mint, plus a scoop of their homemade raw cashew ice cream. Heavenly. My friend, having more of a savoury tooth, went for the Courgette Pasta - so delicious! Made with kelp noodles, broccolini, oyster mushrooms and topped with pine nuts, fresh herbs and a yummy sauce, you wouldn't even know that it wasn't real pasta - it tasted that good! We couldn't go past a slice of their Raw Strawberry Cheesecake, which we ended up sharing. It was rich, creamy, delicious, melt in your mouth - oh I could go on! Highly recommend leaving extra room for one of their cheesecakes, or any of their amazingly-beautiful looking sweet treats from the cabinet. As well as the food being outstanding, I also love the decor - think brick walls, hanging pot plants, plus it is light and airy. Although it is a relatively small place, it is nice and cosy. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Oh and they have a lot of patience! Seeing as it takes ages to decide on one dish (they probably get that a lot). Overall, I loved my experience at Little Bird Unbakery. I felt very full afterwards, but definitely in a good way. I can't wait to visit again and try many more dishes, namely the 'Acai Bowl' and 'Chia Bircher' for breakfast and the 'Kimchee Pancake' and 'BBQ Tempe Donburi' for lunch. In fact, I would like to eat my way through their whole menu!!!

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! I got the kimchi pancakes and caramel slab--both were superb. Would recommend to anyone. Service was top notch as well. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I love the food here. The bagels, the raw slices, nut milk, beautiful juices and ever adapting menu. Meghan has a thoughtful approach to vegan and organic produce. I attended a chocolate workshop and she explained how simple and delicious real food is. Such a talented woman and an inspiration. You can also order juice cleanses from here which I've done a few times with great success. Get anything on the menu it will not disappoint!

Yelp
I tend to visit Little Bird post ooo lunch while I'm making the trek back down Ponsonby Road to work, which means I end up ordering sweet treats over much else. Although I do love the extensive tea list! Having smashed it out of the park on my first order, I got the passionfruit cheesecake which is utterly divine, I have only tried this and the strawberry cheesecake (also divine). A little on the pricey side but I believe in the ethos and concept of the store(s) and brand, so am always happy to pay a bit more. I plan on heading back again this summer for lunch to try some meals.

Yelp
Great food, I had an amazing chicken burger, but I was a bit disappointed with the size of my smoothie for the price of $8.50.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place especially those Kumara Hotcakes! OMG! The best pancakes ever! I just wish there were a few more items on the menu for those with nut allergies. Even so, it's worth a trip to NZ!
google avatar

Shanelle S.

Yelp
The most devine selection of raw treats! The cabinet is honestly drool-worthy. My top picks are the Ginger Slice, Caramel Slice, Cacao Log, Pecan Cup and the Cacao Superfoods Smoothie. It's such a busy cafe, which is a true testament to just how delicious the food is.
google avatar

Sandra K.

Yelp
Ok, I admit I am not vegan, or on a raw diet. I spend most of my time eating exactly the opposite! Met a friend here for Saturday brunch, great service with a table immediately available. I ordered the Bircher muesli, pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It was quickly followed by a slice of berry cheesecake, equally nice with a little hint of coconut. Had to keep reminding myself this was actually good for me. Well done Little Bird, you may have a convert.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the kind of place that makes you feel better for eating here! Little Bird has such an inventive and fresh take on raw food. Their breakfast options are lovely and lunch options are masterpieces changing from week to week. They have also just opened some nights for dinner which I can't wait to try. They also sell a large array of products in store if you love their food so much you want to try recreate it at home
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
So I'll be honest I haven't actually eaten here, but I have had their flu/cold fighting drinks twice now and they actually seem to work. The first time I was stuck with the worst flu and was off work for days, I got their special flu fighting drink and was back at work the next day. Now it may not sound very delicious drinking a kale, spinach ginger and what ever other health foods they can cram in, but they make them as tasty as possible and their so good for you. Perfect way to fight the winter bugs.

Yelp
The menu had me stumped ... Raw bagel?? Veggie smoked salmon ?? cashew cream ??i enlisted the help of the lovely waitress and I'm glad I did. Chilli hot choc was warm and delicious with a spicy yet very pleasant kick. The brunch was so very yum, the raw bagel I really enjoyed. The meals are not cheap but the food is of the best quality and I imagine very labour intense. Surprising I was full most if the day not eating a meal again for 9 hours. I put it down to the fact it's actually all real food! Cafe was busy but not noisy and the deserts looked incredible !! If you want something super healthy, yummy and almost art on the plate you have the place!
google avatar

Yelp
Auckland has gained a little gem in this wonderful little cafe. Their whole menu has nothing with gluten, dairy or refined sugar (TOTAL score!) It's great if you're into paleo, raw foods, vegan, vegetarian, wholefoods... There's a vast menu with many unique and interesting options. I recommend the acai berry bowl. Wasn't a fan of their spicy hot chocolate.... way too spicy and watery, but everything else was great! Their cacao and raspberry cheesecake was delicious! I love the decor of the place and how hidden away the store in Ponsonby is. If you weren't looking for it you probably wouldn't know it was there....! Check it out!
google avatar

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Gave the Ponsonby cafe a go today after visiting the Kingsland one a few times. The vibe is definitely better and the interiors are very hole in the wall London style. Loved it just as much as Kingsland, the food is seriously good and hard to believe it's all raw and entirely good for you. Totally guilt free. Give it a go if your giving healthy or raw food a nudge as it just proves things can be yummy without being drenched in butter, cream and sugar. Definitely super pricey though. $10-12 for a smoothie or sweet treat is definitely stretching it.

Donna S.

Yelp
This is the first restaurant we went to when we arrived in Auckland. And so happy that we did! Wish I had more time in Auckland so I could eat here again!! Great atmosphere, friendly staff!! Very yummy and I highly recommend it!!

Yelp
Yeah yeah I know... I am going to have to justify that 3 stars mark! I was impatient to try the Little Bird Unbakery after reading all the reviews for the Kingsland branch but it was a bit out of my way. So imagine my excitement when the Ponsonby location opened! I am not vegan, not planning on becoming vegan but I love trying out unusual foods and get out of the beaten path (which you will have to do to go there as it is located just off Ponsonby road on Summer street) I dropped by a few times but it was always busy as... One Saturday though I went there early enough to grab a spot at the large table. My order consisted of a coffee shake (made with cashew nut ice cream... Vegan of course!) and the portobello benedict. The coffee shake was tasty, refreshing and strong enough to keep me buzzing all afternoon. Exactly what I was after. The portobello mushroom benedict came with their own "hollandaise" sauce and on Little Bird's own recipe of no bake bagels. Everything was beautifully presented and I could not wait to dig in. The hollandaise sauce was the perfect balance between tangy and creamy and, if I can be honest, I prefer it to any other hollandaise sauce I have ever tried. The praise stops here though I'm afraid... The mushrooms were watery, I love grilled mushrooms for example, but these were not enjoyable. As for the no bake bagels... Well, that is not my thing. Seeing all the raving reviews I thought one did not need to be vegan to enjoy food at the Little Bird Unbakery and yet, eating there convinced me of the contrary. The bagels were impossible to cut through, they tasted dry and felt a bit like grains simply all glued together. The food simply did not do it for me and when I review eateries, no matter how amazing the presentation looks, how nice the waiting staff is... At the end it all comes down to the taste of the food. I would only go back to try the salads (safer option I guess than trying an alternative to a well known brunch dish) or their unbaked goods. Great place for vegans though! For vegans... Mmm... Choose carefully!

Yelp
Let's start - I love the layout and the vibe. Such a cool place to sit in and have a conversation with friends. They had a greeter at the door who took my name for the seat and was attentive. They don't serve coffee or anything cooked, but hey, that's not necessary! And I'm just going to preface the below by saying that my rating is based on my personal preferences for food, and I really hope I can edit it after my next visit. So please, take it with a grain of salt. ... I'm not really down with the food. In saying that, do know that I'm going to give it another whirl. I liked the look of the mexican salad and the falafel salad. And from what I understand, the caramel nut shake was amazing and dairy free. I ordered the beet and chevre salad. It was massive, and filled with lots of deliciousness. I loved the balsamic glaze liberally applied all over the show. The nuts sprinkled throughout the dish also served well to break up the taste and texture. But I wasn't wowed. This is so controversial, I know, so I do feel like I have to go back because I just quite simply ordered the wrong thing (for me). I thought it might be that the salad wasn't decadent or laden with enough calories for me, so I tried the chocolate cheesecake. Whilst I can appreciate it's rich, smooth and beautiful, all I could taste was coconut oil. We keep coconut oil in the fridge at home in its hardened state and use it on skin when it gets super dry, so I associate it with that. But to eat? Not my buzz, sorry. Service is a little off. Young girls having fun talking around you and not really paying attention to the plates that need clearing. But I think those are issues that are easily solved and not really worthy of much attention. So, Yelpers, I'm a little torn. I will go back and try it again and embrace the organic healthiness... Hopefully I find the right dish and have no need to make a stop off at KFC for a snack burger and fries on the way home.

Yelp
What I should say for this Cafe is that it could be better. Space is high, with mixed color of industrial and country style. However, the key issue food and service should be improved! One waitress came bring the cake with no words and expressions, seem indifferent, and the milk pairing with coffee can not be dissolved in the coffee, which made me feel unsecured with the milk quality. The whole ambience was not as good as it is said. Disappointed with the whole service, food and drink.
google avatar

Tee C.

Yelp
If I could give it 6 stars I would. I've been back 3x in 24 hours, and i'd go back for dinner but its closed. Highlights have been the mixed berry cheesecake which tastes better than the real thing, and the Sweet Potato Gnocchi. I was trying to savour each morsel but I couldn't stop shovelling it in my mouth.... I licked the plate :/. Sorry not sorry :D! Lol

Yelp
Yummy food looks beautiful too - great atmosphere - quite popular so u need to wait - cakes look amazing so be heading back to try one soon

Yelp
The atmosphere is inviting and warm. Maybe because of the terracotta coloured open layed bricks and high cleared ceiling! Staff friendly and welcoming. Just ordered three sweet items that looked delicious and am waiting to see if they are as good as they look. Will definitely go in for a sit down.

Jacinta L.

Yelp
I have no dietary restrictions, but have one friend who is gluten and dairy free, and another who is gluten free, so we came here- loved it so much I bought their cookbook for a third friend who is not just gluten and dairy free but also sugar free. I had the lox (carrot) bagel and the antioxidant berry smoothie- both great. Finished off with the chocolate cheesecake- yum! They were so friendly and the atmosphere was great. They were great with kids and their parents both, cleaning up with a smile when a kid accidentally broke a cup, and making the mum feel much better :)
google avatar

Carla H.

Yelp
Very nice food but it is hard to actually enjoy sitting in this place. Very squashed. Also practically no parking in Kingsland - ever. I usually just go in, buy a few things and leave. I love the ginger slice and the staff are super friendly too.

Yelp
Haven't quite visited the Litte Bird Unbakery for a meal yet, but have heard SO many things about their raw cabinet treats, so I had to give something a go! The restaurant is lovely and there is something peaceful about the interior. The staff are lovely and are very helpful, explaining the raw philosophy and exactly what the food is made of and why. Once I saw the cabinet, I understood the fuss, it was nearly impossible to choose! From slices to brownies to cheesecakes and energy balls, they have it all! And all made with raw ingredients! Everything was tempting but after a good 5 minutes of decision making, I settled on the mixed berry raw cheesecake, the best decision I made all week! Made from macadamia nuts and various other raw ingredients, this delicious (and very generous) slice made me question why we would possibly need anything that wasn't raw food! So yummy and will definitely be back to try more goodies!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a quick, healthy and filling breakfast here and loved it. I ordered the chickpea kimchi pancake out of curiosity, and was happy to find that it was hardy and tasty. I also ordered a matcha latte, which was good, but the almond milk was a little over powering. I'd stop here often if it were located in my neighborhood.

Yelp
Pretty much as good as it gets when it comes to pure organic food. This is a top spot with those who are on a Paleo diet (such as ME). Sometimes you feel a little down cause you can't have all those yummy foods you see out and about, but one trip to Little Bird and you've got yourself a chocolate cake which is organic and paleo friendly (no grains, sugars or nasty chemicals). This place also makes really good products too. Really recommend this place!! Doesn't get much better than this. Fun menu and super friendly staff :) Check it!

M B.

Yelp
Went here today for brunch, beautiful fit out and friendly staff. I have been here before but just for a shake. I ordered the portobello benedict. It was beautifully presented but very average and bland in flavour - disappointing for $18.00. Don't know if I'll eat here again as it seems overpriced for what it is, I know it's organic etc etc but believe it or not, I like my food to taste good as well!

Yoski N.

Yelp
Tucked away on a side street with an unimposing facade, the interior of this place has a nice urban chic decor with exposed brick and plenty of beautiful interior plants to make it a bright and cheery spot. Someone went to great lengths to pay attention to the detail, and it shows. The food is otherwise spot on. After a failed attempt at lunch earlier in the week since the wait was so long, we decided on an afternoon tea and had ourselves some smoothies, cold brewed coffee, unbaked bagel and a couple of the bars - chocolate mint fudge and cacao raspberry. This was my first experience with raw food, and I came away impressed with the quality. I think as long as you come in with an open mind that this is a different philosophy altogether about food, then you won't be disappointed. Nice place to people watch too - plenty of lovely young ladies mingled with the older couples and such and didn't feel out of place with a couple of kids in tow.

Yelp
Simply outstanding space and food. 100% gluten-free, but it is done so well and creatively that you might not even realize all the food options are GF. I highly recommend The BirdBowl as it offered a plethora of food choices and was delicious. They also sell ingredients and their other packaged products. They are all very high quality, but are somewhat dear in terms of price.

Yelp
I hadn't been back here since it opened, and I'm so glad I did! We went for breakfast, and I had the bircher muesli. It was so flavorful and just the right amount. Unfortunately the waitress forgot to bring my tea, so we were finished with breakfast by the time it arrived. Will be back for lunch perhaps, judging by how tasty the neighboring tables dishes looked.

Yelp
Came to meet a friend for coffee which was a bit of a mistake given they don't do espresso and I'm not a hundred percent on cold drip coffee just yet. Branched out and had a matcha tea latte which I actually really enjoyed and found refreshing. Also had the Bircher which was delicious. Love the decor of the place and friendly staff. Found the drinks menu to be rather expensive and prohibitive in someways, however the food all around looked delicious and serves the niche market well!

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Little Bird Ponsonby Unbakery. I've been coming here frequently for almost a year, and have always found the waitresses to be friendly, open to questions, and to give great table service. I've been twice this week, and on both occasions my confidence in Little Bird's great service has been let down. On the first occasion, one of our drinks was completely forgotten about until we reminded the waitress halfway through our meals, and on the second occasion, the same waitress forgot to bring water to the table after seating us. I am a big fan of how Little Bird has been fitted out, however I do believe there are a few "spatial issues" if you will. The seats down the bottom near the window are so close to the wall that every time a waitress wanted to get past, we had to stop our conversation to move our chairs for her. This got irritating very quickly. Same goes for the seats on the upper level - it's a bit too intimate for my liking, and forget about trying to fit more than 2 people at a table. The food on the other hand, is always fantastic. From their current menu I have tried the berry antioxidiser smoothie, tropical green smoothie, berries & fairies smoothie, caramel banana milkshake, iced coffee milkshake (AMAZING), acai bowl, portobello benedicts, BLAT bagels, smoked 'lox' bagels, mediterranean bird bowl, late summer salad, and the burger & kale chips - all of which were pretty good, except for the berry antioxidiser smoothie (tart and watery, more like a juice), and the bird bowl (a bit boring). The cabinet food is stunning - I especially recommend the ginger slice, caramel slice, and berry cheesecake! Overall, I love little bird, and as a vegan, could not ask for a better place.
