27 Places to Stay Near Acadia National Park | Condé Nast Traveler

"Tucked away on a quiet street in downtown Bar Harbor, I found The Little Fig Hotel to be a quintessentially Maine, chic spot with blue gingham and crisp linens, complimentary breakfast, king and queen guestrooms that include cozy seating nooks, and immediate walking access to Bar Island, bike rentals, and downtown restaurants." - Emily Pennington

This was the cutest little place! Stayed here two nights and it was located next to or very closely to nearly everything we wanted to do. Acadia is about a 10 minute drive or less. The rooms were big, spacious and very clean. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of space. The receptionists were incredibly kind and provided tons of great recommendations. They have free snacks in the lobby along with coffee that’s available 24/7. Would stay here again!

A beautiful quaint stay, and a perfect location that’s nice for a quiet night, but still close to Main St and hiking. The front desk offers free pastries, home-baked goods, yogurt, coffee/tea, bottled water, and high-protein bars that are great to grab and go for your hike. (The baked goods are a must-have! I almost wanted to ask for the recipe) Staff are also friendly and can direct you towards the best restaurants in town :) Shower might get a little bit cold depending on when you bathe, but that’s only if I’m nitpicking. Overall a wonderful stay and would heavily recommend over any other big-brand hotel stays.

Yelp
What a great find! The little fig hotel is very cozy, charming and warm. Easy to get in and out of and staffed by friendly people. I will totally stay here again when I go to Bar Harbor.

Yelp
Great place. Our room was upstairs and overlooked the street but was still very quiet. Wonderful location, we walked everywhere!

Yelp
This place is great because of its location, close to the action but far enough away so it's quiet. Our room (119) was big and clean. I took a star away because the staff was not very friendly and there is never anyone at the front desk. We are pretty independent but wanted to see about getting an extra blanket. No one ever answered and they have no voicemail.

Yelp
Really loved this little boutique hotel. It's newly renovated as of May 2022 so everything was in fabulous condition when we visited 7/2022. We stayed in room 317 and it was spacious and quiet. The room was clean, as were the halls/ common spaces.) This room is on the top floor, no elevators so if that's an issue ask for a bottom level room. Room 317 has a great view of cottage street, has a king bed (which was comfortable), a fridge/ microwave, loveseat, armchair tall boy for clothing and a writer's desk. No closet for hanged clothes but this wasn't an issue for us. It has a combo shower/ tub for those who enjoy a soak at the end of their hiking. It's directly across from a spa (had a great massage there). Where it fell short of 5 stars is that they still seem to be working out kinks during check in. When we arrived, a younger gentleman checked us in and seemed quite confused about how to do so. I'm fact, we received a call around 10pm that evening to ask if we still planned on checking into the hotel.... We were tucked into our room and sleeping at that point so found that to be a bit unusual. We weren't told anything about parking, breakfast, check out times, who to ask for towels etc. luckily, we asked about parking (we almost parked on the street=paid parking) but there is a small lot just behind the inn with free parking for the guests. We didn't find out that there were waters/ beverages and snacks down stairs in the lobby until we were literally checking out. Would have saved us a little money as we made several trips to the little convenient store down the block for waters. The proximity to town cannot be beat. The hotel is only about a 5 min walk to many restaurants and about 8-10 mins to the harbor (take note, we're totally slow walkers). Acadia national park was less than 6 min drive from the hotel. Again, there was much more to like about this hotel than the small issues we faced so we'd hands down stay here again. I think once the growing pains are worked through, this really will be a 5 star spot!

Yelp
I stayed in Little Fig summer of 2022- it was wonderful and instantly became one of my favorite Bar Harbor hotels (I consider myself a Bar Harbor fanatic and expert). Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, the front desk people were friendly and personable and the location was perfect for all of our adventures. Our trip was a gift from my father - he wanted my fiancé to fall in love with the magic of Bar Harbor as my family all had - he did. We got married in August and 10 days after our wedding my father died unexpectedly. He had started to plan a trip to take my mother to Maine so my fiancé and I stepped in and decided to begin planning for a summer 2024 trip for the 3 of us. Unfortunately we could not see any rooms available yet at the Little Fig. I decided to call and got the most lovely, helpful, kind woman, Paula. We thought we would have to call back when the 2024 season began but she made the impossible possible! She went above and beyond and we were able to book our special trip for our family at our favorite hotel. We are so very excited and so grateful for Paula, who clearly loves her job and loves sharing the magic of Maine with others as much as my father did. Thank you Paula!

Yelp
The Little Fig is a little gem. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. Our room was big and clean, and in a great location. The staff (the general manager, Amber and all who we met) were courteous and helpful. They made our vacation.

Yelp
We expected the property to be a bit closer to the downtown area. The room was less than expected with limited power outlets, no sink in the bathroom, but in the sleeping room instead. No one on site before 7 am, so no coffee available. When the staff was there, all was good.

Yelp
Pleasant staff, great room, with that classic New England Inn feel but modern enough to live in luxury. Customer service was excellent: my fiancée and I locked ourselves out of the room at 10:30pm, we called the management line and then the secondary line when it went to voicemail. An employee was there in less than ten minutes with a smile on her face to let us back in. Five minutes later the owner called me back from the first number saying he had been driving and hadn't been able to answer, but wanted to follow up and make sure we were taken care of. Would recommend to any visitors, and will be staying there again on our next visit.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at the Little Fig Hotel. The receptionist who checked us in was friendly and very helpful. Our room was nicely appointed, with a comfortable bed and chairs. It was great to have parking, as we were able to walk everywhere, including to the village green to catch a free shuttle to Arcadia National Park. The water, coffee, snacks and grab and go breakfast included a gluten free muffin for me, which was appreciated. There are a lot of motel and hotel options in Bar Harbor, and we would stay at Little Fig again.

Yelp
We had no way to arrive for our reservation because of the Crowdstrike problem on the date that we planned to arrive on 7/19/24. The first night we had to overnight in Charlotte, where we not only negotiated with American Airlines for a substitute flight, but communicated with the Little Fig Hotel about our travel problems. The person I spoke to said he would cancel that night, and would look into what else could be done. In the meantime, AA could get us no flights into Portland, Banghor, or anywhere near Bar Harbor for three days. I never heard back from the Little Fig Hotel, until I received the bill posted from the Little Fig for a three night stay that my wife and I never got to enjoy. Unfortunately we never stepped foot into Maine! They may have their stiff business policies, but as a business person myself I know there are times for exceptions. ****Update: manager Skye called me back and said that she is working on getting our credit back for all three nights we missed out on. Thank you Skye. I hope it works out.

Yelp
This review is for the booking agent for our stay. We spoke with Paula whose company manages 12 properties in Bar Harbor. She went out of her way to book this property for us and get us exactly what we needed. Not only did she offer to get back with us, she did so within an hour. She was very helpful because we are not familiar with the area. More services like this should be available with people like Paula who made such an effort to help us.

Yelp
The proprietors of The Little Fig B&B have done a phenomenal job of restoring this old house. Nina, gave excellent service, along with the manager. Our room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable beds! Was not expecting no elevator, but the staff was so kind to help carry our luggage. Breakfast was small plate of option which was enough as we wanted a bigger lunch. They gave great suggestions on sites to visit & great restaurants. Will return for sure!

Yelp
Great place to stay. We arrived later than we anticipated. Hannah was very helpful and called restaurants for us to see if reservations were necessary. Beds were very comfortable. Pillows were a little too thick but that's the only negative. Waters and juice were included as well as muffins, yogurt, and cookies. Clean and quiet!!! We will be back!

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place. The pictures on their listing do NOT match the actual rooms. We were given a very small motel room out back in the parking lot on an alley. We had to put a towel over the door to block a spotlight from shining into our eyes while we slept, and to keep people from being able to stare in at us. We went in to request another room and were told that they were aware that the listing is misleading, but they were not willing to give us another room. We were so uncomfortable that we didn't even attempt to shower the next day, only to find out that the shower did not work. We chose this place because we wanted to have a nice getaway, so we paid a little extra and chose a listing with extra cute photos. We were so disappointed, this ruined out trip. The customer service was non existent and this was a straight up scam. Cannot believe how much we paid to stay in a creepy motel room.
