Little Norfolk Bay Bistro & Chalets

Ordered house bread and their speciality dish: steamed parrot fish in a sesame sauce. As an Asian (largely cantonese), I thoroughly enjoyed the execution of the steamed fish. The sauce complimented the natural flavours of the fish, without being too salty. Plenty of spring onions for crunchiness and colour. Doneness of the fish was perfectly timed too. The fish itself was definitely satisfying (in terms of portion size). Of course it was going to be fresh. But this has to be the freshest fish I’ve had in years. The meat had a nice tender and creamy texture to it. Being Asian, we ate the whole thing. In gist, the chef knew what they were doing. It’s a classic and common dish (easily benchmarked with Chinese restaurants). And it was everything a steamed Chinese fish was supposed to be, but using the best (not an understatement) ingredients. House bread was lovely too. PS: a tad bit more sliced ginger could further spice things up a little!

Thank you so much for an amazing feast and stay! The tasting menu was incredibly generous - compliments to the chef! She single handedly looked after us because they allowed us to dine since we were staying here and would be otherwise closed. There was a WHOL PARROT FISH that was cooked to perfection for the two of us as part of the tasting menu (aka banquet). Thank you again, Bec! Ellie was seamless with booking us in the night before and ensuring we knew where to go and what to do to check in. Very comfortable bed with a huge living space. Clean, generous and very fun! Will be back and highly recommended to others!

We were so looking to dining here, with such great reviews and on personal recommendation. However, we were unfortunately very disappointed with the food. Firstly, the pork belly risotto was inedible. The 2 rashers of pork belly were 90% unrendered fat, the rind limp and rubbery. The risotto had the texture of porridge with stringy bits of cheese. I left 80% of it in the bowl. I'll let the pics speak for themselves The lamb pot pie was mediocre at best.

All the food that we order was amazing! Especially the steamed fish. It would be more perfect if they serve white rice (yes we are Asians lol) The place also felt very cozy & homey. The waiters are very friendly. Overall, a very pleasant lunch indeed 🫶🏼

Fantastic fresh food and seafood. Wine/ Dine and Enjoy Tassies finest. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Recommended by locals.🍻👍👍 Empty plate,says it all.

Wow! Amazing food, service and atmosphere! We enjoyed the delicious quail, parrot fish and sticky date pudding. Cannot wait to sample more from this amazing menu.

We were going to call into Little Norfolk Bay Bistro for a meal as we had heard wonderful reviews about the food but most disappointing, friends told us that the Bistro does not welcome dogs in the outside eating area. What a pity as so many people travel with their fur friends!!
