Little Paradise Review
Little Paradise is aptly named. We just spent three nights here and had an outstanding experience. The five star reviews are here for a reason. This was exactly the kind of experience we were looking for.
First of all, the location is excellent. It's on a residential street just off Palm Canyon Drive, so it's quiet but so accessible to Palm Springs. I don't think we drove more than 10 minutes to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, etc. Just an excellent location. Our particular favorites were Koffi for (you guessed it) coffee, 533 Viet for excellent Vietnamese fusion (with great gluten-free options for those of you interested), and Lulu's. It's really well located for access to Palm Springs, both downtown and other Palm Springs areas.
Secondly, the accommodations are great. It's very clean and well maintained. It's quiet. The rooms are arranged such that even when you're sitting out in front of your room (a feature not to be overlooked, it's really nice to have chairs and a table that allow you to sit and view the pool and the mountains), you don't look eye-to-eye with the other guests. Also, they figured out how to provide you with some privacy by having lattice and vines on both sides of your room, so you don't have to see your neighbor immediately on either side of you when you're sitting out there.
The rooms are spacious - VERY spacious in the case of the Mountain View Deluxe - and quite comfortable. The bed is great, I love the Cal King, it's huge and has a very comfortable set of sheets and comforter, and comfortable pillows. The bathroom is also large, and in the case of the deluxe Mountain View at least, even has two sinks. And that SHOWER is awesome, with its many options (overhead, hose, or multiple jets) and great water pressure. There are hardwood floors, which are kept very clean, by the way, and tile in the bathroom. The kitchenette is basically a fully functional kitchen. And get this - they stock the fridge with your breakfast items (juice, bagel, pastries)! I will get into service quality in a minute, but they even accommodated my wife's gluten allergy by providing gluten-free bagels! What a nice touch! That's because Victor is a truly great guy, so personable and welcoming and incredibly hospitable. Anyway, the kitchen provides you with a lot of options like a small cooktop in addition to the Keurig let alone a sizable refrigerator, cups, plates, glasses, etc. Also a microwave. And high quality appliances at that. Plenty of bottled water, too.
Also, a small decorative fireplace and a 55 inch TV on the off chance you'd want to watch TV.
Grounds were pleasant, with rooms surrounding a nice swimming pool that had lights (changing color) at night. Music playing softly, enough to provide ambiance but not too loud. And a nice playlist, too.
Housekeeping was great, too, especially considering you have a kitchen as well as bedroom and bathroom.
When we were there, we really enjoyed the rain, actually. It was light and pleasant and much needed. It was nice to sit and listen to it and watch it splatter on the pool surface, with the pool lights changing color. Very peaceful and serene.
In fact, the whole experience was relaxing, and memorably enjoyable. Victor, who manages this property, has really thought of everything to make people comfortable. He's created a very pleasant atmosphere for those who want peace and quiet and comfort and relaxation. He's a very personable, accommodating, pleasant host, doing a great job running this place. We enjoyed speaking with him periodically, but he gives you space. If you need something, he's totally accessible. But he's not in your way like some innkeepers. We just enjoyed his pleasant personality.
We had a great experience at Little Paradise and will definitely return. The five star reviews are there for a reason.
