10 Best Bars in Key West | Condé Nast Traveler

"You’ll know you’ve arrived at the Little Room Jazz Club by the blue-lit stairs that guide you inside to this intimate space, which has everything you want in a music club: talented performers, an above-average cocktail menu, sleek seating, and a sexy, candlelit look that fits the sultry sounds onstage. If you prefer your music in the background, there are a couple of little nooks farther from the stage, as well as some outdoor seating—if you can nab it. The wine and beer lists are extensive, though most patrons order cocktails: Hemingway’s Death By Champagne—a Champagne cocktail with absinthe bitters, lemon, and Lillet Blanc—is a house specialty. But all are best soaked up by the bar's small bites, like a well-executed charcuterie boards, or the Jazzy fried chicken bites, served with a side of spicy apricot jam dipping sauce." - Jennifer M. Wood

Found this little gem when I was in Key West recently. This is truly a hidden treasure! The atmosphere is relaxing, intimate, and beautiful! The background music was gorgeous and chill, until the live jazz trio started. Fantastic talent! Had a wonderful time dancing, sipping delicious cocktails and mingling. This will be my go-to next time I'm in town! Highly recommended if you want a classy, relaxing place to spend the evening :-)

Google
My husband and I came here Friday night to listen to jazz and it was fun. The waitress was very attentive and the drink was yummy. The crowd was mostly an older crowd, my hubby and I are in our late 30s so we felt a little out of place, nevertheless, it was still nice. The live music was nice, would return.

Google
This place is a gem! The music that played last night was soulful and just dam good! "Soul Man" sang to me for most of the evening. He's great! Full of passion and what an amazing voice. He sang like Marvin G, and George Benson was right next to him. I truly enjoyed my night there. The waitress/bartender was sweet. Every time I'm in Key West, I'm going to the Little Room Jazz Club.

Google
I’ve been coming to the Jazz club for many years. I was there this yesterday and I ordered coconut run and cranberry. The drink came and was made with coconut cartel rum. I took one sip and it was way too strong. I asked if they could remake it with a less strong coconut rum like Malibu rum. The bar tender refused and said she would make me a new drink but would still have to charge me for the too strong drink. Mind you, I literally had a sip and told her. She offered to split the drink in two glasses and I conceded because I knew she was not going to make this right. After visiting this jazz club and even knowing the workers by name, I will not be returning. This is just bad business.

Google
Little Room Jazz Club. Classy! Nice Vibe! Excellent Bartenders! Get away from the blaring, noisy bars on Duval. If you need to take it down a notch or two, the Little Room is where you want to be. Live music, great sound and stage. Nice food choices as well. Don’t change a thing Little Jazz Club!

Google
This place was beautifully decorated paying attention to the smallest details. I went to enjoy some live music with my parents and it was beyond our expectations! This is the perfect place if you’re looking to have some drinks in a nice place with amazing live music!

Google
Our favorite place in all of key west! Super chill hot spot for locals and tourists alike. The music is always amazing. Such a cool vibe! We spend so much of our time here. They also serve small bites and delicious espresso martinis which is my favorite!

Google
Wow, what a great find. Fantastic jazz. The musicians are very good. We walked in find a place to sit. Have a couple martinis and just sit back and relax. The band members are very knowledgeable of the music they play and I really enjoyed them, giving us informational facts of each musician song who wrote it and where it was written. The staff there the bartender and the server were excellent they don’t harass you. It’s very casual, sweet elegant. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy some great live jazz. My video of Joe Dallas

Yelp
What a great music venue. We popped in on two different nights. One night was a Blues night that had an utterly fabulous trio. The inside space was well laid out. The band was placed up front. There was a large seating area with lots of tables and high tops. There was also a baby grand with seats where my wife and I sat. There is a nice bar along one of the walls as well. The staff was very attentive. They could make any cocktail you could want but they had a few of their own which we tried and they were excellent. Try the Ella Fitzgerald and the Miles Davis. You won't be disappointed. Give it a try if you are in Key West and want some great live music

Yelp
Chill vibes and a nice spot to vibe to some live music while you sip on a good drink. Good service! Bartender is accommodating and will make drinks off menu. Schedule didn't seem to be accurate or maybe the artist canceled. Anyways we still enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Great service, atmosphere is amazing, didn't have any food, but piano guy Juicy is amazing! Will be back to see him!!
google avatar

Kit G.

Yelp
We have a friend who plays piano every Wednesday so Wednesdays we head over for happy hour. I think it's 25% off for drinks and food. The menu is a bit small, small plates but interesting and very good. Think we have tried most items at least once. Lots of speciality cocktails, good wine, generally excellent service. The ambience is refreshing from the hustle/bustle of Duval. You will find mostly locals here. Ver nice dark and intimate interior. Outside dining as well, but most are in for the music. Piano 5:30-7:30. The a jazz band comes on. Great bathrooms. We r food fussy and keep coming back every week. The Mediterranean platter is wonderful. A wonderful intimate spot for all night or a beginning.

Yelp
This was the first time we ever visited this place and I can say it was a good time. We arrived at 5pm and found a nicely designed space and were seated to listen to a little music, and there was a good guy there named John playing the piano, (we saw him playing the following day on the street up on Mallory Square) . He was pretty good. A second good thing was the fact that all food and drinks were 30% off for happy hour (5pm-7pm)! A couple of glasses of Zinfandel and Cab Sauv and a great cheese board was wonderful and a deal for around $50! Service was wonderful and is going to be added to my places on my rotation when I'm in Key West.
google avatar

Humphrey B.

Yelp
The place was small, but most jazz clubs are. I actually sat at the piano with friends and my experience was quite favorable.

Yelp
Here today 9/12/23. Great Blues! Atmosphere and service phenomenal! Had cheese platter, spinach & artichoke dip & meatballs, All yummy! Drinks good as well.

Yelp
We loved this jazz club! Very classy & elegant, and the musicians were top notch. We came late around 10pm and enjoyed the Carmen Rodriguez Trio so much that we returned for a second night. Carmen has a beautiful voice and is very charming.

Yelp
Amazing drinks! Great service and tight, clean space with great amenities to include restrooms. Most importantly, the music was also on point!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a spectacular place. We randomly happened to arrive on their grand reopening night as they closed for the pandemic for a little over 2 years. The ambiance is everything you could dream of for a jazz bar, from the candles to the black and white photos of jazz artists on the wall. While right on Duval, it doesn't have anything cheesy other than the cheese board. We ordered the charcuterie, the deviled eggs, and the chocolate covered bacon. The charcuterie plate had 3 meats, cornichons that had the best savory vinegar bite, a horseradish mustard, and toast points. The deviled eggs came with 2 dill and 2 bacon. I always end on bacon, but they were both delicious. And sweet Jesus, the chocolate covered bacon with the raspberry compote. Wayne graciously gave us the story of his 1940s cook book find, and the flavor explosion in your mouth is insane. Slather the compote high and enjoy every moment. Sweet, salty, crunchy, berry, bacon, and literally finger licking good. Enjoy the music too, because it is also damn good. We had a great time. Can't wait to stop back in next time we are in town.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our time at the Little Room Jazz Club. Best meal we'd had all week. The wedge salad wasn't technically a wedge, but it was delicious nonetheless. The food was not standard pub fare--our Mediterranean platter was freshly made and we especially loved the chicken and house-made tzatziki. The jazz was terrific. Carmen Rodriguez was wonderful. Many recognizable tunes for this non-jazz aficionado. Great atmosphere. We will return!

Yelp
Fun little spot to have drinks, snacks and Listen to some mighty fine music! Carmen Larry and Skipper put on a great show!

Yelp
The best spot in Key West for great jazz, food and drink. It's the adult place to be!

Luann S.

Yelp
Great jazz room. Loved Peter Diamond on Monday nights. Great service and the cocktails were tops.

Yelp
Tucked away from all of the craziness of Duval street is a quaint Little Room Jazz Club. The ambiance is impressive, you forget that you are in Key West and feel like you are in New Orleans. The performers are talented and I watched in awe as I was sipping an artisanal cocktail. Like the performers, the drinks are unique and noteworthy. There's no entrance fee and the performers change up every night. Highly recommend coming here.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing hidden Jen with fantastic music. The small tapas are also well priced and very tast. I highly recommended this place if you are in the area.

Yelp
What a perfect way to spend our last night in the Keys. This place is a class act. Delvin the bartender top notch in our book. Very attentive, friendly and genuine all around. Loved the décor (matchbooks from all over and so unique.) The band was smooth and sounded great we had the pleasure of meeting the drummer, Daniel he was an added bonus to this night I liked all the stories you hear meeting new people. Thank you for. Wonderful experience. Dee & Pete

Yelp
A definite goldmine if you like soothing jazz. Down from NYC where we have plenty of good jazz clubs, iIt was one of the better aspects of our Key West vacation. Fine entertainment and inexpensive drinks! And the vocalist last night was wonderful. This club would do well in NYC.
google avatar

Tricia W.

Yelp
Wow! I will give them 1 star because I have to and that I will have a story to tell forever. Worst experience with a server ever in a place that charges $20 for a drink. Monday must be the wrong night to go here. The band was like walking into a David Lynch movie surrounded by a bunch of people who were tone deaf. Not sure the music could even be considered jazz unless the jazz greats are turning over in their graves. We ordered 3 cocktails and a beer. We ordered our drinks up with ice on the side and were told snidely that "the bartender is just going to love this table". Tracy, our "server" said nothing friendly or welcoming when she approached the table. We had 4 people so we grabbed a menu off the table next to us and were chastised for having too many menus. Really? We gave her the benefit of the doubt because the place was filling up and she was the only server. We never got ice. We asked 3 times and when we asked why it was such trouble to get ice, her answer was "1 bartender, 1 server". So you can manage to bring a drink, but not 1 cup of ice for 3 people to share. We walked across the street and got ice from the drink stand on Duval. She was very friendly so she got a big tip! When we got our checks, I paid with cash. Tracy came back to the table to challenge why I paid only for the drinks. I guess she assumed she deserved a tip after treating us like we were bothering her and her inability to bring us what we ordered. Little did she know, had she returned the folio with the change, she would have gotten a tip. Instead, I told her that we gave her tip to the girl across the street who actually gave us ice. She was shocked that she didn't automatically get her entitlement. I am sure we had the same server who abused the previous reviewer who was pregnant and ordered a water. For future reference, if you have time to dance with the regulars and bring the band all the drinks they wanted, you have time to drop off a cup of ice. We sat right next to the drummer who got whatever he ordered pronto! Several people came in after us and sat down and were ignored. The regulars who helped themselves to water which was at the table next to us did not get harassed for not ordering drinks, but people who got charged $75 for drinks did! Save yourself the aggravation and go to Smokin' Tuna and watch Caffeine Carl play!

Yelp
I absolutely LOVED this place! It's not big, but the music was fantastic, the service was warm and welcoming, and there was such a wonderful vibe here with people smiling and interacting. We came here on our last night in Key West and it was the perfect end to a wonderful trip! We enjoyed a couple of very well prepared Old Fashioneds, deviled eggs and some key lime pie. The musician was Peter Diamond and Company and we loved him! What a wonderful performer!! If we go back to Key West we'll definitely be making a stop there again. Highly recommend for a nice break from the bars and clubs in Key West.

Yelp
G'day fellow Yeplers and Yelpettes! If you have a chance, PLEASE go here for some great jazz, great service. Jerry the bartender rocks just as much as the band does !!!! It has a sweeeet dance floor. (Of course that for those of us who don't trip over both our left feet. LOL.) They have a small plates menu, a.k.a maybe tapas? I didn't try the food although the gentlemen next to me was having the meat and cheese plate, which, looked excellent. As always your dancing mileage may vary.
google avatar

Erica A.

Yelp
Such a great spot for some jazz! We just waltzed in because we saw some jazz was about to start and we're glad we did! The band was great and they played for about three hours. It was a definite bright spot on Duval Street. The only reason his place didn't get five stars is because the bar is seriously lacking. Everything I wanted they didn't have. No tomato juice for a Bloody Mary and no bleu cheese stuffed olives for a martini. They also didn't have beers on tap, only bottles. It was a definite blow to my chill mode but the music made up for it.

Yelp
Happy hour from 12 - 8 PM, with two for one drink specials. Need I say more? Little Room Jazz Club was our favorite hang out spot in Key West. It's got a great people-watching location on Duval Street, where you can relax on the outdoor patio and enjoy excellent mojitos all afternoon long. (If Fran is making them, they're called Franjitos. Apologies to Mo.) Inside is cozily appointed, and the seats at the bar are definitely made for lingering longer than originally intended. Fran and Kelly are fantastic bartenders and interesting conversationalists, plus you may meet a local or two. Things to keep in mind - this joint is cash only. If you're sitting outside, meander inside to the bar to order your drinks. They'll bring them out to you. And because prices are cheap, be sure to tip well. These guys deserve it.

Yelp
Gem of a place. Wonderful atmosphere, great jazz. Lots of seating and the airflow carries in off the street. Stop in!

Yelp
Ambiance and music...always a must when we are in Key West. It's a beautiful way to end a day here in the Keys together. The lemon crumble raspberry cake was a great treat to end the night.
google avatar

Yelp
The only Jazz club in Key West!! Stopped in for a few hours on a Friday evening. Great selection of beers and wines (happy hour 3-8). And the offering of small appetizers hit the spot. The music was fabulous! The singer and a 3 piece ensemble played a great set. The club was full but there was plenty of seating inside and out. And the patrons were all very friendly. Denis Wyland was very personable and wow such talent! A great way to wind down after a long work week. I will stop the in our next time on the island.
google avatar

Marianne D.

Yelp
Great venue to listen to some awesome jazz. Nicely decorated clean indoor space with bar and tables, as well as outside seating. The service was great. The bartender mixed the drinks and served the whole room and she did it well. We had a tawny port while listening to a talented jazz duo. Fantastic! It's a nice alternative to the crowded bars on Duval. We even saw this character of a women roaming around our tables and found out she's Marilyn Monroe's daughter!!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Surprising Gem! We saw a sign outside on the way to dinner promoting happy Hour Piano Bar. We went there after dinner~ the Piano bar was over but we were treated to a Jazz Quartet, singer/dancer and a Burlesque show! Great entertainment to a full house. Cozy tables, some high tops bistro tables and some dinner table height tables. There is a room with a couch off to the side or a bar to sit at. THe espresso Martini was amazing. The Schedule of nightly performers for the upcoming week was available. We hope to catch a show another night this week before we return to reality
google avatar

Bobblehead B.

Yelp
A wonderful bar!! Happy Hour basically all day. Small and intimate place. Outside seating also. REAL MUSIC!!! Good musicians. There are so many bars in Key West where the musical taste begins and ends with 'Why don't we get drunk and screw" and "Wasted away again in Margaritaville". Some places they can't even do those!!! This place has real musicians and real music. A lot of fun. Classy.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
If I could give zero I would. Here on vacation and wanted to stop by for a little relaxing jazz. We had four people in our party and two ordered a drink while two just got water. The waitress had the audacity to judge us for getting water. She even said something to me when I said I was just going to get water. The kitchen had already closed and I am pregnant. Therefore, I want water! She then continued her horrible attitude by saying, "well, we don't charge a cover and you coming in here ordering water." I'm sorry but where on duval charges a cover? There is music coming out of every bar you walk past. This place is horrible. The band was awesome but the service ruined it. I did bring a COOKIE because the kitchen was closed. It closed at 10 and we showed up at 1015. Like I said, I am pregnant and had a craving for a cookie. I'm not sure why the fact I brought a cookie and ordered water resulted in such horrible service. But I appreciate the refund to make things right. It's hard enough to find fun things to do without alcohol being pregnant on vacation.

Yelp
As I tried to start writing this review I kept going back and forth between 4 and 3 stars. So lets call it 3.5 and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I loved the place when I walked in, a great variety of tables, chairs, couches, little rooms, you name it. Potentially a great place to handout with friends and enjoy some drinks. It is dark and cozy like you think a Jazz bar should be. So pluses here. The wines by the glass are reasonable and some decent reds. the beer is typically and nothing special. Nothing hard as of yet, but that is not the end of the world, and I'm guessing they are waiting on the license issues there. The main issue with the 3 star Vs 4 star is more to do with my impatience with music acts that show up late. One night we stopped in about 10 minutes after the music was supposed to start, and there was a sax player waiting for the other musician to show. The Sax player was an older guy, but he was there, ready to go, and he could actually play pretty well so points for that. The sax guy played two songs with a guitar player who turned out not to be the schedule performer but either the manager or just someone who works there. Finally the "scheduled" guitar guy showed up and talked to the first guitar player, then left for 10 minutes, then came back, then spend 15 minutes looking through his sheet music, then spent a bit trying to fix his stand, then some more talking to friends. During this time the first guitar/manager guy came over an apologized for how long it was taking, which was good but by then I wasn't interested in buying anything else and was considering leaving. Finally the second guitar guy got it together, we stayed for 3 songs and then left. CAme back another night where the duo playing needed to practice a bit more but didn't stay long either. Lots of potential, just need to get some more reliable acts, which knowing Key West shouldn't be that hard. But I hope they get it together. I felt for the sax guy, he seemed like an older professional, who showed up on time ready to play. He should have just gone solo.

Yelp
Gotta love the extraordinary opportunity to hear a Broadway performer like Terri White in the middle of the Duval debauchery. Superior!
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
Cool low key spot located on the quieter end of Duval Street. This place has a happy hour special of 2 for 1 drinks everyday from 1-8, which includes every drink on their menu along with a great selection of wines and several beers. There is also outdoor seating that is really good for people watching. They have live music every night. Definitely check it out!

Bernie B.

Yelp
Amazing nice romantic place to enjoy some great jazz. The small plates, drink just perfect. Larry Smith, reminds me of Frank Sinatra. Enjoying this cool happy hour with my hubby! Come on down.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
This wonderful place is currently closed. No sign of any work being done to reopen. Everything everyone has ever said about it is true prior to Hurricane Irma.
google avatar

Deborah F.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite Jazz place ever! We had an amazing time there. This place is not well known my tourists, there are only locals, which makes it even more magical. The ambiance is great and the jazz band is unbelievable. True artists who even let you choose your favorite songs to play! We will be back for sure next time we are in Key West.
google avatar

Megan R.

Yelp
First, the good: live music and the band playing was AMAZING! The crowd that was there was also very engaging and very into the music, so it made the atmosphere enjoyable. (Keep in mind neither of these positives are really about the establishment....) Now, the bad: the bartender (female, dark brown curly hair, never got her name) was terrible. We waited about 5 minutes for her to acknowledge us - only a quick "I'll be right with you" - and then another 5 minutes or so for her to get back to take our drink order. I completely understand if you're busy but she was moving at a glacial pace. It also seemed she was more interested in listening to the music than her customers. My sister and I both ordered a drink and a glass of water... Neither of us received our water. While we were sitting there, we watched her repeat the same slow uninterested process with a group of 4, and a few single people that came to the bar. Drink list was unimpressive, although there were some good (though limited) wine selections. We quickly left and found a much better bar down the street. Very disappointing experience and I will definitely never be back or recommending this place to anyone.

Yelp
This is a wonderful spot! The entertainment is great. The food is excellent. We had such a good time. The bartender and servers were super nice. I would highly recommend this place. It's a great vibe. Very classy.
google avatar

Carla B.

Yelp
Loved this place. Got there late afternoon to cool off from walking & shopping and had a few beers. Their happy hour includes some light food. I highly recommend the stuffed grape leaves. The bartender was great & kept the conversation going with us and another couple. We'll be back on our next trip to Key West.
google avatar

Rose W.

Yelp
One of my new favorite bars in Key West! Have a great 2 for 1 happy hour, served with a bowl of some spicy chips/pretzels, an awesome large screen behind the bar that shows a live feed of Atlantis in the Bahamas! Bartender, he was very friendly and made sure to greet an chat with everyone there, smile on his face the whole time. We will be here again anytime we are in Key West
google avatar

Whiskey R.

Yelp
Love this place!! Enjoy the wine and the music is perfect. The joint has a cool vibe that is just right for the tunes that are played. Nice to stop, relax, and listen.
google avatar

Ahmad E.

Yelp
Highly recommend for a late dinner after night drink. Amazing ambiance, great jazz and blues. There are 4 quaint rooms tucked away in each corner of the venue that provide for privacy to enjoy with your date while listening to stimulating tunes.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
First time here and love it. Great decor, friendly bar tender and decent drink prices. Plus, pretty good band playing. In fact, great little blues duo.
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
My favorite place in key west! Go everyday 2 for 1 from 1 till 8 and the best sangria I've ever had! A must stop place during the duval crawl
google avatar

Ken K.

Yelp
Great little music venue/club! On Duval, but a couple blocks away from the tourist bars. Nice atmosphere, good service and innovative drinks. The wine list is really diverse, offering lots of different types, from different regions of the world. Great Happy Hour! 2 for 1 glasses of wine....wine is priced at about $9 per glass, nice pours! Highest priced per glass is $12 (maybe 1 or two are 12 - the rest are 8-9 bucks) This is good pricing for the location on Duval Street, in the heart of Key West. Semi-upscale, comfortable chairs and tables, adequate bar seating and all with a great view of the stage.

Patti U.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere.... the so called jazz artist was TERRIBLE. Singing his own songs from the 70's.... when he was constantly HIGH. According to his stories. The songs all sounded alike and nothing like jazz. The only redeeming factor was the naked guy sitting in the foyer with only thigh high hose and a hat.... no shit
google avatar

Delaine A.

Yelp
Came in for happy hour. This used to be a store we liked. Great happy hour on wine and beer. 2 nice sitting rooms in addition to the main room. very helpful bartender probably the owner. Going to come back tonight at 8 to see a horn player who played with Ella. No cover. Went back 3 times during our stay. Nice place to sit outside and watch people too. And check out the water fall outside.

Laura W.

Yelp
Great great jazz! Food awful! Service really good. Ambience great just eat before you get there.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Music was very good! More on the blues side the night we went but will try again and it was very good. Drink choices were good. Service is a huge issue. I know that the keys are laid back but this was either lack of attentiveness or short staffed, could not tell. Had to flag down our waitress for our bill. Was never offered a second round of drinks. Disappointing first time but want to hear some true jazz so we will give it a second chance.

Ian P.

Yelp
Music is not bad but $20 for a martini is price gouging....it wasn't even that good to be honest.
