The coolest vinyl bars in the world that music lovers need to visit - SilverKris

"Tucked in hip Shimokitazawa just west of Shibuya, Little Soul Cafe is a dark, dream-like den where, for every customer there are around a thousand LPs—many soul or disco numbers that would be new to most ears—collected by owner Miachan, who effortlessly serves whiskey highballs while simultaneously keeping the tunes coming deep into the early hours." - SilverKris

Vinyl has made a comeback. Here’s where to feed your record obsession - SilverKris

"Tucked into the trendy, youth-filled Shimokitazawa area and barely big enough for ten people, this tiny cafe houses an astonishing private collection of 15,000 tightly packed vinyl records. Owner Miachan alternates between mixing whisky highballs and spinning rare soul and disco treasures, creating an intimate, music-first atmosphere; none of the records are for sale, though you can ask if there’s anything he’s looking to shift." - SilverKris

My favorite bar in Tokyo. The owner's collection of soul music records is very impressive. If you are an enthusiast of old school funk and groove, this is the best spot to be in the world. If I lived in the city, I would easily come back here every week if I could.

The man that runs this place has great taste in music and makes a great cocktail. Amazing way to spend your night!

Cozy vinyl bar with wide range of spirits and cocktails, with a few beers too. Owner is super nice! We had a great time listening to cool tunes. Bar is full of records, I've heard there are about 14,000!! He know what he's doing. Cash only

I love the soul bar atmosphere here especially the music they’re playing. The drink menu is meticulously crafted. Good place to spend your night out.

This place seems to be an institution in Shimokitazawa. A small listening bar on the second floor. You can hardly walk to the bathroom because of the sheer amount of vinyls in here. 14.000 roughly. The owner is a figure of his own. Prices are very ok. Keep in mind: this is a smoking bar. And since it‘s very narrow it is indeed quite smoky

Cute record bar. Owner plays great soul music. Delicious drinks! Smoking allowed FYI. Apparently Nas was here :)

Place is great. As usually with these vinyl bars, the collection it’s super cozy. Bar seating The gentleman behind the bar took quite a lot of time to pour whiskeys for some reason, but other than that it’s a great place

A temple for soul music lovers and a trademark of Shimokitazawa. The bar is as intimate as it gets with <10 seats, a 14,000-strong vinyl collection, and an owner who knows soul like no one else. The kind of place where you come to listen, not just drink. Even Nas has been here, which tells you everything. The drinks do the job but you’re really here for the music, the atmosphere, and the kind of deep cuts that make time stand still.
