Popped in recently and although it wasn't a traditionally busy time, there were enough customers for the atmosphere to be warm. It also helps the space is small, which encourages intimacy in a way. Found out by accident there is a little back alley customers can sit in, too. Out the back, you could be in any inner City terrace house. It's damp, cluttered and oh, so quiet. Takes me back to my days in Chippendale in Sydney. The back alley was the only respite from the busy Sydney traffic. I kept thinking any minute now, I'd see a dirty great big rat scuttling past. I didn't, though!
Really lovely friendly and personable service. I had to go in to get a cloth, since I missed my mouth when I took a sip of my terrific tasting coffee. [That is, once I got it in my mouth, it tasted great]. Staff offered to pour me a replacement, if I had lost the first one. Impressive! Fortunately, or unfortunately, it was only a dribble. But it was the type of dribble that catches every layer of your clothing on the way down and leaves a brown spatter pattern as a screaming indication of your clumsiness. Typical me. *sigh*
There's a new collection of street installations along William Street, including a cluster outside Little Willy's. Silver, orange and white pieces that you can rest or sit on. I think it only enhances the shop front. Worth stopping by.
