Hands down, Little John’s toffee shop is the hidden gem of The Grove Farmers Market. I stopped by on a drizzly afternoon, and even in the rain, the setup was perfect — just enough shade by the counter to stay dry while sampling their incredible selection. Everything is always fresh, made in small batches right there, and you can taste the difference immediately. I ended up buying way more than planned (no regrets!). Their toffee is unlike anything else I’ve tried — not hard or tooth-breaking like the typical stuff. The moment you bite in, it crumbles beautifully, releasing rich, buttery flavor with the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. It’s addictive in the best way. I packed a whole lunch bag’s worth to bring to family on the East Coast for the holidays, and it traveled like a dream — still fresh and crumbly upon arrival. It got demolished in minutes and immediately they asked where to get more. If you’re at The Grove Farmers Market, do not skip Little John’s. Grab a bag (or three) — your taste buds will thank you. The most delicious fudge which was the closest taste to homemade I have ever had. Walnut fudge or plain chocolate fudge, both were amazing.

Very good fudge in the middle of the farmers market. It's about $20 a lb and what's pictured was about $5. The fudge was good, chocolate was the standout and the pecan was not bad. If your itching for some fudge, you can't go wrong here.

Their toffee is delicious I always come here for that. I was there last Saturday and ordered a quarter of a lb. of the toffee for like $8 but when I checked my bank transactions they charged me $21 and change. Of course I threw my receipt away and I live an hour away from the Farmers Market so I can’t just go back there. Be careful and check your transactions with them.

Ayo!!! I'm back with another sweets review! I've been going to Little John's for years for their English Toffee! It's my Fav Toffee along with their Marshmallow Delights that is Marshmallow dipped in Caramel. They have so many other types of candies that make lovely gifts as they can package and wrap for you. They are located inside the Farmers Market in the Grove across from the Empanada place. Staff is always nice and provides samples. They validate parking and cards are accepted. Come check out this place!

I was looking on Reddit for food recommendations and came across a recommendation for LittleJohn's with one commenter saying that English style toffee being so good that it was addicting like crack. I knew I had to try this for myself. While I've never done crack, I can confirm that the toffee is awfully good and equally addicting. Come here to try some delicious toffee.

I'm in a time warp... Back in 1947 people ate this instead of Snickers bars... The English Toffee is to die for... The 70 percent Cacao squares bar is 100 percent gonna kick you right back awake!!! And some say is also an aphrodisiac!? Well... ahem I can neither confirm nor deny these claims.... Just eat one little square ... I DARE YA!!! It has variety of chocolate and candy. Service was good. The guys working there were helpful. I tried some of the candies and they were nice. It's slightly expensive but I think everything is expensive in farmers market nowadays. Overall good shop..

I was always so skeptical of this place because I thought the price of the candy was so high but it is absolutely worth it. The best toffee hands down. I always get a quarter of a pound and it's the perfect amount. It's a definite must try.

Littlejohn's English Toffee, inside the Grove's Farmers Market, delivered some serious joy this morning ! It's one of many kiosks, easy to pass by, but worth searching out if you're looking for something sweet and crunchy. I'm not one for crazy sweet desserts, and their traditional toffee perfectly hit the spot between sweet as it needs to be, crunchy delight to the senses, and completely satisfying. I say this as someone who's been in and out of the UK at least 20 or 30 times and who is used to less delicately balanced toffies.

Absolutely thee best, BEST English Toffee in the World! Been frequenting this stand for more than 45 years, yes, I can't believe I just said that, but it's been a family tradition since I was a kid when my dad would take us to the Farmers Market on weekends and always gave me a piece of his toffee. I've continued this tradition with my kids up until I moved out of CA, but whenever we get a chance go visit, we always make a trip out and visit Littlejohns. Love this place so much.

The toffee here is delicious! A+ Props to Bill & Lisa on YouTube for talking about this place at The Grove. This was maybe my 2nd time to the The Grove ever and I knew I wanted to checkout the original farmer's market. I love watching Bill & Lisa on YouTube and they mentioned how they always stop at Littlejohn's for their toffee whenever they come. The price was a bit steep at $33/lb but this is the most delicious toffee I've ever had. I originally only wanted to buy a small amount because it is quite pricey. We asked and they said we could buy at any increments but they had pre-packaged blocks at 1/2 a pound so we did that. I'm glad we did because I love it. We're still working through the block and it's been still tasty a week later. Definitely stop by and get the toffee!

I purchased $17 worth of candy at this store. I've been going to it and FM for 40 years. The clerk charged me $70. I challenge it with my credit card co and Little John's had them deny me. I went to Little John's twice the next week, spoke with an employee and the manager who promised to review the books. Nothing ever happened, no credit, not anything. A huge disappointment for an establishment with a long standing reputation. Bye bye LJ $70 toffee.

I love toffee so this store is my heaven. So many great candies beautifully put together and unique tasting. Each piece of candy looks like a piece of art.

Strolling through Farmers Market with a friend today, my wife was encouraged to stop by Littlejohn's by that friend, who raved about their English toffee. And just like from Nonna's Empanadas, I was again the recipient of my wife's outing. On my sampling the English toffee, worth every bit of my 5 star rating! They're irresistible! The Mrs. also brought home one of they're Pecan bars for me to try. Good, but nothing like their English toffee.

This is an easy miss if you don't know to look for it in the farmers market. It's in the back near monsieur marcel and it's the cutest little place to watch them make candy int eh window. Aside from the visuals, it's the best toffee in America, if you ask me. Sure there are other places but this is THE BEST and it's always fresh and so yummy. You can't go wrong coming here if you like toffee. They have other candy as well, but the toffee is my big winner!!!

Love love love this little shoppe! Not only is their English Toffee out of this world, but all of their other confections are top notch. I picked up a box of some dried fruits dipped in chocolate, and it was a bit of nostalgia heaven! The girl working behind the counter was friendly and helpful.

Another 5 star review to tell you to get their toffee!! I love this place!! They offer free samples of their toffee and I was hooked since my first free sample. It can be quite pricy ($33/lb in Dec 2021), but I come here every winter and buy 1/2-1 lb of toffee for the holidays. They even have 1lb boxes gift wrapped for an easy holiday present. Their toffee is much better than any I have found in store and is not too tough when you bite into it. It stays pretty fresh sitting out at room temperature. They validate parking for the farmers market if you buy a certain amount, though not sure how much since we bought a few pounds when we last went. Definitely check this place out if you're visiting the grove!

I will never order from them again. I ordered fudge to be overnighted to a northwestern state. I paid extra for shipping. Three days later, after it still hadn't appeared, I tracked to their warehouse in San Francisco. "It's too hot to deliver it. Would you like to pay extra for an ice pack? Of course, because of Labor Day, we can't mail it out before Tuesday, " said their rep. I told them the fudge was already dead; cancel my order; and, I'll never do business with you again!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Probably nothing. Top notch, thick, tender toffee wrapped in chocolate and plenty of nuts. If you ever have to be at the grove, treat yourself to at least a sample of their toffee. I also like their marshmallow delights. I don't normally like eating untoasted marshmallows, but unlike jet-puffed, their marshmallows have a more tender, less chewy texture. Be forewarned, it is quite pricey. I got a tiny chunk of toffee and a marshmallow delight and it ran me $7.

I don't know what to say. I'm a toffee fiend and have frequently googled "best toffee in the US" and when this place came up, they weren't wrong, I think it is. Having had toffee from all over including homemade toffee...I'd rather get Littlejohn's. In pursuit for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I realized adding chopped toffee adds that extra special touch. This toffee is great for that but even better for snacking. I bought two gift boxes, one for a friend and one for myself. I opened the one for myself and ate both sheets of toffee....no joke...both. The good news is that they ship so I did order more online. This toffee is very sweet but perfectly crunchy, not too hard and the right amount of chocolate coating and nuts. I love this toffee, and I think anyone who tries it will never go back to others. This small but impressive candy shop is a staple of the Farmer's Market stalls. While they are known for their English toffee, they also make other treats like caramel apples, fudge, and other chocolate treats. Whenever I've gone, they always offer samples of their famous toffee for anyone to try. (Even during the last couple of days prior to the pandemic restrictions being lifted!) The people working there have always been friendly and welcoming. At first the pricing on the toffee may seem daunting, but it is worth it and you can purchase less than a pound of the toffee. (A slab of the toffee is about 1/2 a pound.) Unlike other varieties of English toffee I've had, this is easy to chew and break off while still having a good crunch. (Sometimes I've encountered toffee that is too hard to bite or chew safely and that kind of ruins the experience.) It's a great toffee for all ages and those who might struggle with really hard toffee or candies. There's rarely ever a wait and the people who work there do their best to move customers along so they can make their purchases quickly. Parking options include the lot for the Farmer's Market (they do validate!) or The Grove. (The latter will require you to get validation at a business in The Grove.)

I love this legacy business; it's like a time capsule. Ingredients are high quality, candy is lovingly made by hand. I go here around holidays, they have the best assortment of whimsical chocolate figures.

BEST. TOFFEE. EVER. Today I went to buy some toffee to give as a gift and their holiday gift wrapping is ADORABLE (at no extra cost either!). I'm blown away by how wonderful this place is. I don't even need to go into the quality because it's just outstanding. And toffee that's outstanding? I'll let you imagine the beauty of what that tastes like. The people there are always friendly. I called them yesterday to see if buying toffee for gift-giving would even be feasible on Monday (Dec 23rd) and if they'd be running out of toffee (it's that popular). The girl told me they literally never run out of toffee and just keep making it as long as people keep buying it. They also always give free samples of toffee. So try it for yourself and you'll see why it receives such high praise.

What a heavenly delight! Hands downs the best confectionary in Los Angeles! I haven't tasted real toffee since I was in England, and hand down - this tastes even better! Most commercially produced toffees are made with corn syrup but Littlejohns uses real sugar. And you can see workers making the toffee and bark by hand in the storefront. I recently fell in love with their white chocolate almond bark and milk chocolate coconut roll with vanilla crème. If you love sweets, this is your heaven.

Definitely the best English toffee in Los Angeles by a mile compared to anybody else located at the small outlet in the farmers market on Fairfax and third Street.... this place is super Duper delicious! I've been coming here for years and the flavors, the texture, the consistency has always been the same for the last 30 years...:) So if you need to have a piece of candy to treat yourself or to give away as a gift, I highly recommend picking up a pound of English toffee and I guarantee you, that you will be a rockstar!

Nice little store at the Farmer's Market, almost a staple of the place, but we shouldn't take it for granted, nowadays you never know. Just appreciate it and shop at it, indulge. This place is a treat and offers many treats. Service is nice, they do offer samples sometimes, their displays are wonderful, they have a great variety of merchandise and decorations for Easter, they couldn't be more adorable. If you have a sweet tooth and you are at the Farmer's Market, try Littlejohn's English Toffee House. Yes, they specialize in toffee and they have a good variety of products within the category but they go beyond that, they sell many chocolate candies, bars, treats, a bit of chocolate everything. Who could resist it?

This establishment is a solid choice for some consistently good caramel apples My favorite ! I've had the fudge not a huge fudge fan but they do it right Also the English Toffee is excellent !

Ate Littlejohn's English Toffee, that comes in a slab held within a quaint little cardboard box w/ picture of a little English half timbered houses & a young British dandy in top hat & tails holding a cane & a box of Littlejohn's rushing to some elegant afternoon tea, at friends' New Year's Eve party. I took a tentative small chunk to sample to see if it were good enough to eat more. I could have eaten the whole slab myself since it was that addictive. The toffee has a perfect amount of sweetness, & the high quality butter's rich alluring dairy scent comes through. Perhaps the toffee itself has a touch of condensed milk to add even more dairy undertones. The toffee's mouthfeel is a good contrast of hard, mildly teeth shattering texture that slowly melts ethereally away into sweet oblivion. The crushed almond nuts add a fibrous crunchiness as well as a nutty woodiness, and the chocolate adds in sweet, soupcon of understated bitterness. Littlejohn's in Farmers' Market may be the ultimate in toffee candies. It has perfected Toffee to such a high degree that it would be almost impossible to top its flavours, aromas, textures except if they make a Hashish version which would then include heightening the sense of taste & urgency of munchiness to another ineffable higher plane of pleasure. It's not low calorie, low fat diet food, but who would want to eat crap like that when Littlejohn's is well worth a few pounds of ecstasy?

ENGLISH TOFFEE. Don't get anything else, don't look at anything else, and I promise you'll be pleased. I always finish the entire box within 3 days.... and i'm even guilty of perhaps finishing within 2 days. ENJOY! PS: Littlejohn's is inside the farmer's market, so park your car in the outside lot and not in the Grove structure.

I've been patronizing this business for years. They have the best Toffee I've ever tasted. They also have a fantastic pecan roll. Service is always fantastic and above and beyond. I always wind up buying gifts for family and friends. Their candies make the best gifts. Your recipients will not be disappointed.

Sweet Treats Galore. Located in the Farmers Market (beside The Grove). Our eyes locked into all the homemade candies behind the display case. Everything looked delicious. Decided to try a Dark Chocolate Almond Bark and Pecan Praline. Total came to $6.93. Both were delicious but my favorite was the Chocolate Almond Bark. The chocolate is smooth, not too sweet, clean and packed with flavor. The almonds were crunchy and go perfectly with the smooth chocolate. They are generous with the amount of almonds they put in there too. Service was quick but not the friendliest. These sweet treats are reason alone to drop by the Farmers Market.

OMG. I didn't need to find this place. Walked by the back of the store where the marble slab/kitchen is. The guy was making toffee (I thought it was fudge, wife thought it was toffee, she wins again) Sat there for a little while enjoying the free demo and craft. Decided to wander to the front to look. Asked some questions like how much $$, but didn't want to purchase. "Would you like to try a sample?" sure. Nooooooo. IT's crazy good, fresh, melt in your mouth, perfect soft toffee, milky choclate , nuts. Nuts! Had to buy some and it is the Best Toffee Ever. I have my favorite locally produced choclates and have enjoyed their toffee for many years and birthdays, but I have found a new King. I don't usually like the small chocolate shop chocolates or toffees because of inconsistency, but this could be a regular diet buster when visiting the Farmers Market for meat or poultry. There is both a blessing and a curse of trying new things. Littlejohn's toffee is just that type of curse. Damn you, LETH!

Best toffee in town makes great in chocolate bars and the staff is very friendly they also have great candy apples with almonds!!! Simply amazing!!

Been coming here for gee whiz 30 years I guess. I've been divorced for about 20 years now, but I still send my ex-mother-in-law a box of the chocolate covered marshmallows for her birthday every year. She still calls me her son-in-law, no "ex". Convinced Little John's is the reason.

They have amazing handmade candy. They're in the farmers market next to CBS Studios on Fairfax. The homemade fudge is amazing the homemade caramels wow. Certain times a year they made fudge covered apples that you have to try to believe. The homemade caramel is put over homemade marshmallows I love these delicious little puffs of wonderful sweetness that you can't get enough of. When the toffee you make tastes so good, you only have to make one flavor, then you know you've made it. There's a reason they've been in business for so long. Whether ordering online or picking up here at the Farmer's Market, I'm never let down by Littlejohn's.

Ok, first off, this place is a bit spendy -- what do you expect, it's the Grove? BUT. The brittle/toffee is soooo worth it. It reminds me a lot of my favorite brittle from Ethel M.'s in Vegas, but without the four-hour drive. Get yourself a slab of the stuff and relish it.

My friend gave me a box of their toffee and I just can't stop eating it! I generally don't like candies but this toffee is something else. It's the perfect balance of butter, sugar, and nuts.

Quite possibly the best Toffee in the world. I'm usually pretty choosy when it comes to candy, but I've got a soft spot for toffee, and I dont know what kind of wizardry Little John uses when they make their toffee, but you get the that nice toffee crunch, and then it literally melts in your mouth. Some would say its a bit pricey at I believe $25 a pound, but dont be afraid to ask for a 1/4 or 1/2 lb. Its totally worth it. Definitely a hidden gem in the farmers market at the grove, but even more of a hidden gem in all of LA .

My nephew loved this place. We bought so much stuff - way more than we should haved but he was hell of happy. Some of the treats we bought here are really hard to find in other shops, making this joint in tje farmers market very unique. Little John's sweets will make you feel guilty but it's worth it. This is your sweet cravings HEAVEN.
