The Sun Rose (Los Angeles Area, California) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There’s no one location in Los Angeles that captures the appeal of the whole city, but the Sunset Strip comes close — Hollywood glamour, rock-and-roll decadence, spectacularly set against the backdrop of the hills. The Sun Rose takes up a whole block along Sunset, and it needs every square foot; the Pendry contains not just 149 rooms and suites, but a spa, a pair of Wolfgang Puck restaurants, a members’ club, a 100-seat music venue, and even a bowling alley." - Tablet Hotels

Cozy, if you can afford it! A friend and I paid $19 for a decent general admission space to see the Dear Amy Band (Amy Winehouse tribute), which is just a tiny space to stand in the back near the bar. It also took the bar people 40 minutes to get our drinks. I’d say overall though, the experience was great and delightful!

The venue is gorgeous. Loved the bartender Lauren and the host (can’t remember his name but handsome energetic ball of fun young black male). Was sooooooo disappointed when I went to the Mother’s Day show. Paid $160 for a table and in the email it said be there no later than 2pm bc the show started at 3. Got there at 2 and security guard said show didn’t start till 3 so come back. So cool. Went upstairs to rooftop for drinks and appetizers which are pricey but really good with good service. My most major complaint is they removed the food inside of the Sun Rose room. They had some bs charcuterie board and disgusting cheesecake as the options now. I’ll attach a pic of this cheesecake with some puree on it that looked very unappetizing. I originally loved this place bc of the show and the menu. So IF we return or IF you go eat first bc they on some bs. Very disappointed.

It’s a beautiful venue in a really fun part of town. No food but great drinks. We went to see La Roux last night, which was one of the best shows of my life. The intimate setting of the show was really a standout. Unfortunately, near the end of the show, some of the staff started talking really loudly over the music, which was very distracting and disrespectful. I realize it’s probably all routine for them since they work here but I wish they had more respect for the experience of the ticket holders who had come here to enjoy the music.

Beautiful venue for small, intimate concerts. The service was a bit on the slower side that night probably because it was a full house, but the performance made up for it. The food options are limited and could use a revamping of sorts. There is a paid parking lot across the street.

I went to an event here hosted by Mazza - focusing on afrobeats. Crowd was great, live music and performers were awesome! Such a cute balcony and set up.

Beautiful atmosphere but the seating arrangement can be a lot better. If someone tall is sitting in the front you are screwed.

My experience at Sunrose was amazing!! I got last minute tickets at the door for a Chaz Shepperd show and it didn’t disappoint. The venue is classy and contemporary with a very intimate atmosphere. The sound was great and the close proximity of the musicians and the audience made for some wonderful interactions. I highly recommend the Sunrose and can’t wait to go again.

Yelp
So happy I found this spot. I was in the mood to attend an R&B concert. I went to see TA Thomas and three other performers. I originally did not know of them but they all had amazing vocals and lyrics. Live bands and a dj in between sets. All staff from the bouncer to the bartenders were so friendly and added to the great experience. They have cocktail and mocktail options for drinks. I don't believe they were serving food for the event I went to. Location is a prime spot in West Hollywood with many food options near the venue

Yelp
Stopped in here last week for a Keyon Harold show. Loved the ambiance and set up besides the wall between the bar and stage....lol Service was great. I didn't try the food but drinks were decent. I'll definitely be back for another show.

Yelp
Beautiful and intimate music venue at The Pendry's Hotel. The hotel is were the House of Blues was located so they made sure to have The Sun Rose built in. So nostalgic! The sound is just amazing, and there are no bad seats. Tickets are at the Dice app. Lots of options for music for all tastes. Anywhere from free to paid. You get to mingle with the artists before and after. Great service. The drinks were delicious. The food is good but they are more small bites. The entrance is through Sunset, the hotel has Valet parking. Plenty of restrooms.

Yelp
Magnificent Friday night jazz at The Pendry's Sun Rose. Got tickets to go thru the Dice app. Arrived just before 9p - street parking is near impossible so go expecting to pay the $20 valet; music is free so it's not too bad? - and walked into a throwback lounge. Decorative touches on point. Classy crowd makes you want to approach the night with style and grace. Friendly staff welcome you and are watching for any drink orders you may have. And then the music?! How is this a free show. Better than most other options we have in LA. I'll be back! Thank you Sun Rose and Rocha Collective

Yelp
Beautiful and intimate jazz bar. I came here with my friend to see Bren Joy, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Yelp
"free concert" for Theo Croker at 7pm with doors at 6pm. Anyone that arrived just after 7pm was hit with "sorry concert is ending soon" after standing in line for 30+ mins and it wasnt even 8pm. I'm sorry but what... Shady place that doesn't actually have any entertainment. Also the only way to buy tickets is from their insta bio that incorrectly says "*But* tickets". Go anywhere else :)

Yelp
An intimate space to listen to live music with a friend or a bunch of friends or by yourself. The service is excellent and caring. There is parking available so be sure and read your confirmation email. If you can gets seats in advance. The food and drinks are delicious as well as $$$. I spent my birthday there and I can't wait to return.

Yelp
The Sun Rose is a definite "must do" on the Sunset strip! If you can see a show with Mike Garson, do it. The staff is top notch and extremely professional and helpful! Ambiance is definite old school class. They aren't doing much food anymore, but the drinks are great (kinda pricey tho). Still if you are looking for a great vibe, this place is it

Yelp
Excellent venue for small concerts. Stay over there I saw a jazz funk R&b group this weekend and it was fantastic. Hard to find parking but I believe they do valet parking downstairs and I think it's worth it. All the people work in there are totally nice and super helpful. The band lineup is fantastic can you sit right next to the stage so it's a small venue, so no see this bad. Proportions on a small bites are actually quite good and they make fantastic drinks. But the real reason I was here for the music. They have fantastic acoustics your close up to the band and the seating and the mood and the atmosphere of fantastic. I will be back and bring people for sure.

Yelp
Goapele debut for her new album was amazing. She sang a couple of her old songs. DJ Big Von killed it. Lexxi was an awesome host. The Sun Rose venue great for date night.

Yelp
Several of us were looking forward to seeing Candace Springs and her band as the Sun Rose in Hollywood. Candance and the band were great; however, the venue had several unfortunate issues. First, Their website and other social media posts indicated that the show would start at 8pm and doors would open at 7pm. We got there at 7pm, only to be told that the show was starting at 9pm and doors would not open until 8pm. This was on one of Southern California's coldest nights, which actually felt inhumane. They even made one of the musicians wait outside before getting cleared to get in. Once we got inside, our seating was nice as we had VIP seating. We ordered food and drinks and got them in a reasonable amount of time but our friends, who were seated next to us and who ordered before we did, never got their food until the show was about to end. Our wait staff was nice but seemed to have disappeared. There was also subtle lighting during most of the show, which was appropriate, but during the last 15 - 20 minutes of the show, a big "light show" showed up on the back wall and it was pretty distracting and made zero sense. I hope this place can straighten out these issues because we need more live music in nice venues.
