Yelp
Pros: room is gorgeous, acoustics are great, seating is comfortable, valet was relatively simple, drinks are ok.
Cons: holy wow was service bad. Like...next level bad, from beginning to end. As someone who worked in a nightclub for years, I can't figure out how or why it got this bad. People were lined up outside waiting to get in. For efficiency, the queue was supposed to be divided into two lines, one for people who purchased tables and one for general admission. The problem is that whoever the person is who was doing that came out and she barely looked up, and explained the lines in the most soft spoken voice that literally only 3 people heard, and chaos ensued. Doors should have been opened at 8 but they didn't so everyone stood around. Eventually we get in. We sit down. No one takes our order. More than 20 minutes passes and we flag down a server who is not our server. He takes our order and says he will give it to our server. He says, "We get busy so if no one comes back, just order at the bar." My husband looks at me dumbfounded like "Is this really their system?" After a few more minutes I turn back and there's literally no one waiting at the bar so I get up to just order from there directly. The manager is there and she stops me. She promises my drinks will make it to me. You can guess what happens next. Another 20 minutes lapses, the show is about to begin, no drinks. My husband now wonders how they can even enforce a 2 drink minimum if they don't even serve the first drink. So he goes and gets her, puts in our second drink order and tells her he's putting it in because at this speed it'll take forever. So as the show begins, four drinks are delivered to our table over an hour after we took our seats. Their signature margarita was tasty. The espresso martini wasn't, but at this point I was so relieved to even have a drink in front of me I didn't care. The manager was kind and comped a drink. I would have ordered food and maybe even more drinks in the over 2 hours we were there if someone actually showed up to take orders. One note about the food - the menu was peculiar. Everyone around me ordered French fries. I think a couple of people got the ube basque cheesecake and one person got sorbet. But that was it. The menu didn't seem like it was comfortable "nibble while watching live music" food. They probably don't need so many upscale items like the caviar and the tuna.
So why rate 4 stars with so many comments? I really want this place to succeed and improve. It's a lovely music venue and it deserves a chance. The general vibe around us was that the band was great and the room was comfortable but the service, food, and drinks could use a major overhaul.
