Several of us were looking forward to seeing Candace Springs and her band as the Sun Rose in Hollywood. Candance and the band were great; however, the venue had several unfortunate issues. First, Their website and other social media posts indicated that the show would start at 8pm and doors would open at 7pm. We got there at 7pm, only to be told that the show was starting at 9pm and doors would not open until 8pm. This was on one of Southern California's coldest nights, which actually felt inhumane. They even made one of the musicians wait outside before getting cleared to get in. Once we got inside, our seating was nice as we had VIP seating. We ordered food and drinks and got them in a reasonable amount of time but our friends, who were seated next to us and who ordered before we did, never got their food until the show was about to end. Our wait staff was nice but seemed to have disappeared. There was also subtle lighting during most of the show, which was appropriate, but during the last 15 - 20 minutes of the show, a big "light show" showed up on the back wall and it was pretty distracting and made zero sense. I hope this place can straighten out these issues because we need more live music in nice venues.
