Loved this hideaway place, caught Slickers and Bon Temps Roule there couple of years ago. A very hip place to visit when in Kyoto.

I had best concert in my life here. It was AMAZING! Loved the atmosphere, vodka - ginger was perfect, sound system and everything just perfect... I love everything about this place! Please please please go, and enjoy your day here 🎉

A must for live music enthusiasts! If you love Jazz, Indie, Rock and Roll and blues this is a place you cannot miss when visiting Kyoto. The intimate setting combined with people smoking (if you can tolerate this) make for a atmospheric venue which is missing in a lot of today's modern music venues. Doors open usually around 6pm, sometimes earlier. We didn't have tickets which I think is a must for some of the more popular acts but we're allowed in at slightly inflated charge to the normal ticket price. The ticket comes with a free drink though so it softens the blow slightly. Drinks are reasonably priced and they serve food from an English menu, the food isn't up to much but we didn't come for the food. Great place to spend a night with some entertainment and they serve some fine whiskey which we enjoyed after the band finished as they stay open for a few hours after. Take a look if you're stuck picking live music to see, you won't regret it.

Lots of interesting acts, nice informal atmosphere and sound quality that puts many major venues to shame. Owing to its location smack in the middle of a residential area shows rarely go on beyond 9 PM meaning you don't have to worry about catching the last train.

Live House Takutaku is a nice place to see indie bands- and very skilled players as well. However for those who aren’t too fond of smoke, this may not be the place for you as majority of the crowd (who tend to be in their 20’s) were smoking cigarettes.

Excellent small horse-racing themed bar. Makers Mark highball is a standout. Very friendly. Just enough English to make you feel welcomed.

Amazing atmosphere. The bands are really energetic and stoked even though the crowd was small and only consisted of Japanese women for some reason. Definitely recommend for a genuine japanese experience.
