Attended the Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band concerts. Both events were brilliantly organised, and the staff were fantastic and helpful. The stadium has had significant upgrades since I was last there 20 years ago looked very impressive.

Visiting Liverpool Football Club was an absolute amazing experience. Whether you’re a lifelong Reds supporter or just someone who enjoys the football, a trip to Anfield is something very special. The stadium tour was well put together — from the moment you walk through the iconic Shankly Gates to sitting in the dugout and walking through the players’ tunnel. The museum and trophy room were impressive, packed with history and memorabilia that showcase the club’s rich legacy. It was interesting to learn about the club’s greatest moments - well worth a visit.

Did the tourist tour, good to look around inside the stadium, thought the tour itself could be better. Other than audio more or less left to own devices. Signage could be better particularly outside.

Walking into Anfield isn’t just entering a stadium—it’s stepping into the heart of a city where football flows through the veins. The passion? Unmatched. The energy? Electric. The history? Legendary. From the moment “You’ll Never Walk Alone” echoes through the Kop, goosebumps are guaranteed. It's not just a song—it’s a soul-stirring anthem that unites generations. Win, lose, or draw, Liverpool FC fans “don’t look back in anger”—they roar with unwavering pride. Jurgen Klopp’s reds don’t just play football—they put on a Cinematic show, one that could’ve easily been soundtracked by The Beatles, The La’s, or Echo & The Bunnymen. Mo Salah on the wing? “There she goes,” slicing through defenders like a melody through Mersey air. And when the team scores at the Kop End? It’s pure “Ferry Cross the Mersey” joy—pride, love, and a little bit of Scouse swagger all rolled into one. The atmosphere is so intense, it’s like “the whole of the moon” rises just over the main stand. This isn’t just football—it’s theatre. It’s poetry. It’s every lyric, every heartbeat, every last-minute goal sung back in chant-form by 50,000 voices. Liverpool FC isn’t just a club. It’s a feeling. A movement. A love affair set to the soundtrack of a city that knows how to sing, shout, and never—ever—stop believing.

Clean! Amazing toilets for a stadium. Clean and no huge queue! Went to see Bruce Springsteen who was amazingly fabulous as always! A great night!

What a fantastic stadium. The people inside make your experience even better. Liverpool people are the most beautiful people you'll ever know, the minute you arrive in the city you're made to feel like family. My last visit was for the legends match, what a day. YNWA ❤️

Multilingual? You'll love it here. You get to practice every single language you know, just not English. Don't go at the end of the season as it's surrounded (not inside) by local 'big reds' buying their customary end of season full kits for the following season of tv/pub participation. Buy your pacamac asap, as they get snapped up for wearing in the local 'big red' drinking establishments. You were warned!

Went for a wedding. Despite being a Tranmere supporter, I must admit, it's a decent ground! We had car parking allocated which was handy as it's a bit of a trek to the nearest train station (Sandhills) The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic, and plenty of it. Great location for events

Yelp
If you are a LFC fan, you cannot miss the home of "You Never Walk Alone." This is an amazing stadium to walk around. So much history and football great moments that have happened here over the years. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see this place filled to the brim with fans for a footie game, but I am excited for a return to Liverpool to check it out. We had an amazing tour guide that had the right balance of humor and history to keep 62 kids entertained for the 2 hours that it took to get in and around the bowels of this stadium. The stadium was clean, and it was laden with all sorts of history on its walls, in its staircases, everywhere. We had a chance to go to the press booth, the locker rooms, and down to the field to see what the players and fans get to enjoy during the season. Excited to return.

Yelp
I've probably been to Anfield on more occasions than most Liverpool supporters, I've been here five times now to watch Manchester City play away here, and once previously for a stadium tour. It's been the home of Liverpool FC since 1892, originally opening as home to cross-city rivals, Everton in 1884. Seen as an iconic home to Liverpool fans, with the Kop holding a piece of football, you can obviously sense the history in this stadium with the gates and the Bill Shankly statue, it feels like a stadium with a character, compared to many of these new soulless bowls. As an away team supporter here, I have noticed facilities to be slightly improving, they have done some work to improve the awful view, but it still isn't ideal, if you're sat towards the front, it can feel like you're in the pits of the stadium, and it can be hard to see the left corner as well as the opposite end of the pitch. Due to the construction around the Anfield Road stand, they have made it much more difficult to get to the away end, where I had to virtually walk the entire length of the stadium to get in, and then be escorted through a security cordon, it isn't signposted at all well for away fans. I hate to say it but the atmosphere as soon as Liverpool score a goal is probably the best I've seen in any stadium, I can understand why it is daunting for teams to come here as we've seen in Liverpool's home form over the years. The stadium is showing its' age in some senses such as in the concourses, entrances and lack of a big screen, I love watching the replays and it's surprising that a stadium like Anfield has a scoreboard and not much else. Getting to and from the stadium is easy enough, there is the 917 bus which lines up before and after a game, where they leave one after another, obviously, I would advise against openly showing away colours on these services as they are used predominantly by Liverpool fans, otherwise, it's just under two miles and perhaps a 40-minute walk back to Lime Street - which can feel like forever if you've not come home with the points. I was also rather impressed with the stadium tour, where you got to see behind the scenes and learn more about the history of the stadium, as a football fan, even though it is a rival team to Liverpool, I rather enjoyed it, as well as the banter with the tour guide and group after they realised I was from Manchester. 4*

Yelp
One of the most exciting moments in my life was my first visit to Anfield! If you're a football fan, you already know about Anfield. Go visit this place, if you can't manage to get your hands on some match tickets, do it, you'll not regret it when you start hearing "You'll Never Walk Alone"! As expected, I scheduled a tour for the day after the match, the history of this club is impressive and there are many stories to be told.

Yelp
A truly historic stadium in England. I recently had the opportunity to attend the Liverpool-Tottenham match and the atmosphere was cracking. I was sat in upper Anfield row, but there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Outside of the stadium, there are plenty of pubs to hang out before the match kicks off. There's also street food available, but it is honestly mediocre. I would recommend grabbing some food before heading over to grab a couple pints before the match. Also, for Americans, you're not allowed to bring alcohol you by inside the stadium to your seat within the stadium. This may be standard in the UK, but it took me a little by surprise as a tourist.

Yelp
When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of the storm There's a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark When you walk through L4 to get to this stadium, just keep your wallet in a safe place and keep away from the back alleys. I'm just kidding. It is in a very run down, poor part of town, which hopefully will be revitalized a little by the expansion that this stadium is now undertaking, which will make it significantly bigger over the next few years. Anfield is, without a doubt, one of the greatest and most iconic stadiums in the world. It "only" has 45,000 fans, but they're louder than 100,000 anywhere else, especially for big games (United, Everton, Champions League, title deciders, Semi Finals), and especially at the start of the game when the entire stadium sings the beautiful, uplifting "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Gerry and his Pacemaker (he's old). All round the fields of Anfield Road Where once we watched the King Kenny play Steve Heighway on the wing, we had dreams and songs to sing Of the glory round the fields of Anfield Road It's a very Irish team and these are very Irish songs. It may be the most passionate fan base in any sport anywhere in the world, and it's definitely one of the most successful and historic, though they haven't won a league since 1990. They recently discussed moving away and building a new stadium, but instead chose to renovate, and thank goodness they did. I've seen at least 20 games here - there's no stadium I've been to more. The intensity for the Manchester United game and for the first Champions League game in years (Ludogerets) were unrivaled. I first saw them play under Rafa Benitez, and then under Kenny vol. II, and finally under Rodgers. It's a religious experience. I've been in every end of the stadium and I have to say nothing compares to the Kop. If you do go and see a game here, prepare to be uncomfortable. The seats are very claustrophobic, you won't believe how packed in you are. But maybe that is part of the appeal. It's the greatest stadium I've ever been to! Oh and yes. That's a picture of me and John Aldridge standing on the wall, sideways. What about it? If you have any complaints, I'll get Graeme Souness on you.

Yelp
PRO TIP: Do NOT do a stadium tour of Anfield or any other stadium on match day you'll be wasting your £s. Even though the LFC staff were very upfront about saying it would be a 'slightly' shorter tour and we wouldn't be able to see the changing room and a few other areas, overall the Anfield tour we did was SUPER disappointing when compared to the tour we did the previous day at Old Trafford. That one was 75 minutes, took us all over the stadium and we had an amazing tour guide who had infectious energy and was a fountain of interesting info. Contrast that with the Anfield tour which was, I kid you not, 30 minutes with a super lame and lifeless tour guide (Shaun), who barely offered anything. Also, the museum was pretty small for a club with such a long history and would only likely be appreciated by the ardent fan. Again, just try and do stadium tours NOT on match day.

Yelp
19th Aug 2007 Liverpool 1 -1 Chelsea goals: Torres 16 / Lampard (pen) 62 EW. a very old stadium that looks a million times better on TV. I felt like I was re-living John Lennon's youth while walking to the supporters section of the stadium, passing the industrial-era houses (see pic) and it's true, I never walked alone... the crowd was a'ight. We was right up in the front. Honestly, I was expecting the crowd to be much more boisterous. Oh well, I survived. That's right Mom, I didn't get beat up by football hooligans! (cuz they lyke keep it on the DL hardcore nowadays.)

Yelp
no fan can possibly give his virgin anfield experience anything less than 5 stars!!!:) though old, filled with tight wooden seating and surrounded by derelict looking houses, this is an institution. this is the temple, the religion, more important than life or death! though it was only a pre season game that i attended, the atmosphere was electric! old stadiums allow you to be really up close and personal to the pitch! you are drawn into the action from the moment you step into the inner sanctum. the pitch was perfect. the singing beautifully resounding. the support undying and unconditional! even though we lost 1-2, nothing can make you feel more proud than being there and supporting them despite a below par performance. a lack of huge tv screens replaying critical moments from the live game meant you had to concentrate on the game and nothing else. for me that made it an even more intense experience! one that will forever remain etched in my memory.........

Yelp
What a day at my favourite sports venue!! The sheer excitement of visiting Anfield is worth 4 stars by itself but when you add the friendly, helpful and lovely locals, the history of the club and the effort of the players it's absolutely a 5 star experience!!! 45000 roaring fans singing their heads off and sun from a blue sky, it can't possibly get better than this, but wait...having brought my girlfriend along to experience Anfield for the first time, and what a first time, made my day complete. You gotta love this town and the people. Sheer class!! Make us dream:-) YNWA!!

Yelp
I watched the Europa League Semi Finals from the front row of Anfield Stadium and what an experience it was! No subbuteo sized squad these were real life size tackling and scrapping (Kyut) and occasionally scoring players! It wasn't the best game (we won the match but were knocked out the league) but it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is amazing, the stadium was awash with red and resounding with the passionate songs of supporters drowning out the visitors! Fortunately I got a lift home from the stadium because it's a little awkward to get to, although there is a free soccerbus laid on to Anfield (and Goodison Park) from Sandhill's station.

Yelp
Being an long life Everton fan makes this a hard review to write as you can imagine! However, full credit deserves to be said for one of the world's most famous football clubs and stadium. If you are from Liverpool, most people are football crazy and so passionate about the popular sport. Liverpool fans are believed to raise the roof in terms of the highest decibels a crowd makes; in fact, Liverpool has the noisiest fans in the world which says alot about the club and loyal supporters. When you hear the clubs tune of You'll never walk alone, you will feel goosebumps and a special emotion that is so unique and important to the club. The stadium soon becomes electric with an atmosphere to be proud of (if you're a red of course)! If you ever get a chance to see a match on derby day when Everton visit Liverpool, its always going to be a cracking occasion when the two Merseyside rivals clash.

Yelp
I've given Liverpool 5 stars as a dedicated fan... but I'm telling if you if they don't pick up next season there is going to be some serious trouble! Rafa is out now, no excuses. Anyone else backing Roy Hodgson? His ability to reform Fulham without loads of money is definitely a plus. Anyhow, back to Anfield. It's a brilliant stadium, the atmosphere is electric when you're sat in the Kop watching a match. Singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' is an incredible experience when you're sat in the stadium... amazing. COME ON LIVERPOOL!!

Yelp
I have to admit to a bias here, Anfield is always to get five stars of a Liverpool supporter no matter what. It is without question one of the world's most iconic stadiums and in The Kop has arguably the world's most iconic stand. I was lucky enough recently to be given a Premier Club ticket, the first time I'd been to a game here for many years (a result of increasing ticket prices, marriage, kids, etc). This ticket not only included a seat in the Centenary stand but also admission to either the Shankly or Paisley suites both pre-match and at half time. Both of these suites are a decent size and have food and drink available (at a cost). There was a decent variety of food on offer but I plumped for a traditional pre-match pie and pint. The suites also have plenty of TVs showing Sky Sports pre-match and at half-time were showing highlights of the first half. It's a great way to enjoy a match, assuming you've got money to burn or like me pick up a freebie. What's a little bit sad is that fantastic as the stadium is it's clearly too small for a club of Liverpool's stature in this day and age. Being in the middle of a residential area expanding it would be difficult so it looks like a move to a new stadium may be on the cards. If that happens the old stadium, not least The Kop, will be sadly missed.

Yelp
When you walk, through a storm Hold your head, up high And don't be afraid of the dark. At the end, of the storm Is a golden sky And the sweet, silver song, of a lark. Walk on Through the wind, Walk on Through the rain, Tho' your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on! Walk on! With hope In your heart And you'll never walk alone YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE! (Five stars, even though Rafa wouldn't start Keane or Nando, and we drew with feckin' STOKE!)

Yelp
Anfield Stadium. For me, this place holds a very specific memory, and it isn't related to football in the way you'd think. When I was younger, in my early teens in fact, my uncle had achieved a fair bit of fame in an indie band. They were consistently in the top ten for a while, in fact I think they held a number three spot for a good while which considering how quirky they are was very impressive. Back in those days, I'd walk into school and regale classmates with tales of what I'd done last night. Oh yeah, I was just chatting with the bassist from the Lightning Seeds. Ooh, well, last weekend my brother, father and I were all given free passes to a festival my uncle was playing at. That festival was a memorial, a tribute to the Hillsborough 96. A bunch of indie bands got together, including the likes of Dodgy (remember them?!?) and the obligatory Lightning Seeds who were good mates with my uncle's band, plus, the Bootleg Beatles played a stonker, I could say for years that I'd seen the Manic Street Preachers live and the one I'm most proud of - the Stereophonics were the 'unheard of' act on the bill. That was one of their first major gigs. Look at them now! The point of all this is that the concert was held at Anfield Stadium, proving how much the grounds mean to Liverpool fans. In 1989, 96 people were crushed to death at the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield due to police mismanagement, all of whom were fans of Liverpool FC. The concert raised money for the Hillsborough Justice Campaign. Anfield is a spectacular stadium, and has been home to some incredible matches and amazing events, but I'll always remember it for that concert, where I first saw the permanent memorials - the eternal flames aside the Liverpool FC crest and the Shankly Gates. It's a huge example of just how caring and justice-driven Liverpudlians are, and I tip my hat to them.

Yelp
Oh my beloved Anfield. If it were not for my fellow American idiots being broke like a joke, maybe we would have a nicer set of diggs to play in. As a diehard fan of the Reds, it's difficult for me to be so critical of Anfield. IMHO, Anfield is kind of like Fenway Park or Wrigley field in that the place is so sacred and historical in nature and you definitely can feel an aura from all the years in the place. At the same time, if I were to look at Anfield say, from the eyes of a Man U fan, I could clearly reason it is a dump. I could even argue that White Hart Lane, which far more insignificant than Anfield on such a grand scale, is actually a bit more accommodating and comfortable than Anfield. At the same time, if you are a football fan, no matter what team you are from, this is definitely one of, if not THE most sacred pitch in all of football. You must experience it once.

Yelp
Totally neutral on Liverpool as a club, so I can do a review of this stadium as an honest appraisal. I have been to stadiums across the world and this really is one of the poorer ones in terms of amenities. We did the tour and I was really surprised how old it was and how little it had been modernised. It is something more like one of the away grounds I have been to in the Scottish league, rather than a EPL club. * seats in the kop are tiny. I am 6ft 3 and literally could not sit down. *press room, was the old boot room I think. Old and in need of serious repair. * area outside the stadium was really run down. Boarded up houses everywhere. * when we went to the shop. There was a leaking pipe spilling sewerage everywhere that they were trying to fix. It smelled awfull and we were unlucky that it happened that day. However really it was another sign of the run down and old fashioned nature of the place. This tour is something for fans of Liverpool to do and they will love it no matter what. if you are a fan of another club and have a neutral view on Liverpool you will be very disappointed . Especially if you have done tours of grounds at clubs like barca or Real Madrid. It is like night and day In comparison.

Yelp
I just want to tell you all that this club means the world to me. My Father took me here for the first time when I was 8, and since then, the rest is truly history. I've had some fantastic times at the Kop, including being bent double over the railings a few times (pre-Hillsborough days). Sure, it hurt, but that's half the fun. Although, due to those awful events at Hillsborough, I can understand why stadiums became all seaters. It's a shame in a way, but probably safer in the long run. If I could give this review more stars, I would. YNWA and never forget the 96.

Yelp
As much as I love Anfield and the history of the place, and the 'feeling' of the old building, it's desperately in need of a revamp, the main stand especially. The atmosphere is not in doubt, the stewards and staff are amongst the most helpful I've ever come across in a football ground, anywhere. The people that sit around you have a sense of humour and generally add to the game you're watching. The fixings, however. In the main stand, where we were, the seats were the old school wooden bum-numbing ones. The concourse area was basically right out of the 50s - small, cramped, claustrophobic... and the food stall queues were horrific, and they'd run out of change too. I love the ground's feel, though. There's something nice about being inside this place... but it could do with a bit of updating.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
You don't come to Anfield for great views of the pitch, comfortable seats, or other amenities that the modern sports fan has come to take for granted. There are very few stadiums in the world where a view partially or significantly obstructed by a pole does very little to reduce the overall quality of the spectator experience. Anfield has an electric atmosphere, charm and its stands and pitch breathe the rich and storied history of Liverpool Football Club. The first time you hear the fans in the Kop sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" you will feel chills run up your spine. Best moment: Fernando Torres scoring an absolute beauty of goal vs. Blackburn during the 2008/2009 season.
google avatar

Maher H.

Yelp
What Anfield lacks in modern amenities, location or size, it more than makes up for in atmosphere, history and passionate fans. I've been to modern stadia in the USA and although those fanbases are still just as passionate, the experience lacks because the venues have become soulless and corporate. Not so with Anfield! Unless you're an opposing fan, you will get chills all over when You'll Never Walk Alone is played. It's an experience, a pilgrimage that every Reds fan should try to make at least once. It's my hope that, just as they did for Fenway Park, NESV can find a way to redevelop Anfield so that the club can thrive and prosper in English and World futbol in their rightful home. YNWA!

Yelp
LIVERPOOOOOOOOL! there is a lack of words that can explain the first experience to anfield, but if you are a liverpool supporter, you'll understand.

Yelp
Liverpool FC are one of the biggest teams in the world, known across immeasurable swathes of foreign lands, so it's weird to approach their home ground and realise it sits like a monstrous gargoyle amongst row upon row of bleak terraces. It doesn't feel like any planning went into the location, it was simply plonked down by cranes. Now it sits, massive and loud, like a citadel surrounded by shantytown. I've never been to a match here as football ranks below 'sand drying' and 'dog threesomes' on the list of things I'd like to watch. However, one of my best memories took place here, when I witnessed Paul McCartney belting out his classics in the golden summer of 2008. The huge stadium, swarms of singing fans and the fact he mercifully missed out the Frog Chorus welded the event into the nostalgia nucleus of my brain. Good on ya, Anfield.
google avatar

Fredrikke W.

Yelp
I am reviewing the away-area of Anfield. I went a couple of weeks ago and I found the inside area to be waaaay to small compared to the amount of people in the seats. It was stressing and a bit claustrophobic during break time. The bad thing about the away area, is that you can't really see what is going on at the goal closest, so you spend all the game leaning forward almost falling. This is one of the poorest away areas I've seen. I strongly recommend that they upgrade.
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
I am going to be completley biased and give Anfield one less star than my beloved Goodison just so I can write a good review but still sleep at night! Even though it is not as big as the many new stadiums of their Premier League rivals, Anfield is still one of the top destinations of football fans across the world. You will be hard pushed to get a matchday ticket for a saturday game as the city is booked solid in advance by travelling fans. In this respect many local Reds find Anfield an increasingly distant prospect for them and often find the atmosphere wanting for league games. This is why Champ League - or rather Europe League! - games have such a great atmoshpere in the city as mid week is generally the only time most non-season ticket fans get to see their team play and the place is rocking for those matches. Like Goodison, Liverpool's ground is still set amongst the old terraced houses of the city and is becoming one of those places that has retained a real matchday feel for real fans who understand that sampling a game of football is more than turning up to a ground and buying an expensive hotdog in uber modern arena. At Liverpool, like Everton, you can be amongst the local fans and residence and sample the city as well as the football.

Yelp
Liverpool football club ground is Anfield. There is an old football club staidum feeling to this place due to its proximity to the local houses. During match days this area gets very busy and the police close off the streets prior to the match. a vast proportion of this area is permit only and it is well ticketed so ensure you dont park in one of these areas without a permit. Its well worth parking in an official match day car park.
google avatar

Neelakantan N.

Yelp
Went to do the full monty stadium tour but only managed the shop, outside the stadium and the trophy place. Got to touch the big ears - which I don't think is something everyone can do - They were getting the trophy out to be displayed and I took a photo holding it. The staff at the shop are helpful and we had a good chat about older jerseys and better days. The area is in disrepair though - which was very disconcerting. Unlike some London clubs or Swansea and others the immediate vicinity of LFC is beyond desperate. I will be back for a match though. The atmosphere is bound to better than on a wet and windy March morning.

Yelp
The home of the most successful team in the history of English football - Anfield is a ground every football fan should visit. You all know about The Kop, The Shankly Gates, Anfield Road etc, but it's the unique atmosphere that makes it such a great place to watch a game. If you get seated in the paddock you're practically on the pitch with the players! (see my photos!) Otherwise The Kop belts out the loudest noise of any stand... and I think they've actually measured it. Steeped in history - go before they knock it down!
google avatar

Alistair H.

Yelp
Liverpool Football Club is the most successful British team (by far) and one of the most successful in the world. It's also the best in the world (I'm definitely not biased :p) Anyone with any interest in football should try to get along to Anfield at least once before it gets demolished in a few years time. It will be a sad day.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
The other reviewers have said it all: Not a brilliant stadium, very disappointing the first time you see how small the pitch actually is, but nothing like it for atmosphere. The tours are a must - book one on a normal (ie non-match) day and you may still meet any of the players, but you will see some never-to-be-forgotten sights.

Yelp
I went to watch Liverpool v Lazio in August. The ground had that famous atmosphere that you always hear about even though it was only a friendly. The only let down was that Gerard was injured and could not play. Transport to and from the stadium was easy by black cab and only cost £6 from the city center. Although getting a cab back is a bit tricky with everyone needing a ride home. Leaving the ground early is a must. Overall a great experience, and I would recommend that every Liverpool FC fan visit Anfield at least once.

Yelp
I don't support Liverpool, but I can admit their strikeforce of Torres-Keano is decent. However, Their prices are slightly higher that Manchester United, and their stadium capactiy is about 30,000 less than them too. So overall I think that Manchester United is a better football club.

a truely admirable club, not my club of choice (gooners) but i respect the teams skill and what they are trying (yet failing to do.) They are always ranked just short of the big 3 in the premiership yet their record in all competitions is unfathomable. I do not quite like the Manager Benitez, I much preffered Houllier but nonetheless they remain a team in the premiership that i dont despise.

Yelp
It's a dream for all Liverpool fans to visit Anfield, the atmosphere is electric, the place is buzzing and there is so much history behind the club. I remember the first time I went to the stadium, it was funnily enough a european match against Genoa. Even though Liverpool lost the fans were all singing because Liverpool tried so hard. I remember sitting in the Kop and thinking wow. If your not a LFC fan you can still appreciate the place. Why not go on a tour and really have a good look around. Have a look at the statue of Shankly. Anfield is a stadium of a capacity of around 45,000, and it's a pleasure to visit. YNWA.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my tour round Anfield when I went a few years ago and can warmly recommend the place even for non-Liverpool fans. The pitch itself is quite a small one (one of the smallest in the Premier League, I gather, and only just bigger than the FA's recommended minimum) but that only increases the intimacy of the place. There is a club museum and shop on the site too; the museum is particularly good with plenty of memorabilia on display from the club's illustrious history. There's also a moving memorial to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster. All in all, Anfield is a place oozing with history and sporting culture, and a visit is a must for anyone wanting to learn about the city.

Yelp
£9 just to look round a museum seems a bit steep from the out-set, but it was actually not too bad, entertainment wise. My husband is a big LFC fan, me, not so much fussed about football in general. It was a reasonably diverting afternoon though, although a bit of a shame they don't let you even glimpse the inside of the stadium without paying for a tour. Crack a window, guys!

Yelp
What a great place to visit if you are a Liverpool fan. My husband and I had the greatest day out when we saw Liverpool play Coventry (Liverpool won). The only down side was the problem with parking. We had to park in a side street miles away.

Yelp
The KOP end of this stadium has an atmosphere like no other. I've been to most premier league stadiums, and the noise the fans in this stadium made, dwarfed any other I had experienced. Not only the best club in the country, but a club with the most loyal, passionate and die hard fans I've ever had the pleasure of cheering along with.

Yelp
As a die hard fan of liverpool all my life i get to notice the beauty within the stadium and get to see what it looks like when and as it changes. Liverpool is one of the most successful football teams in Europe to go along with the Amazing City culture. They have seen their ups and downs in football, from the rags to the riches. Liverpool is built on money it is built on its outstanding talent.

Yelp
I visited Anfield for the Liverpool Man City game this past November, 2011. I'm a neutral but for that day I was a Man City fan sitting in the Man City supporters section. We only sat down during half time and sang almost the whole time. Things got a bit heated with some of the Liverpool supporters but when the whistle blew, everyone was friendly. It was a blast to be part of the Man City supporters section. The stadium is a bit old but very historic. Overall a great time!

Yelp
I took my papa here for a tour because it was his birthday and he is really passionate about football. It was a really informative tour where we had access to almost all of the stadium. The pricing of the tour was reasonable to say the least. Once you have seen it though you have seen it and I wouldn't go back on to the tour again. The tour representative was a laugh and she had a lot of extensive knowledge about the history of the team which is always good. Afterwards we went for a hot drink in the cafe which was a lovely scenery but the menu was far too expensive for what was on offer. We then took a trip to the merchandise shop which again was far too expensive... forty-five pounds for a dressing gown... JUST NO! Apart from this it was a lovely lovely day :)

Yelp
This stadium is inspiring after watching so many games on TV from here. We didn't visit for a game, but still went by just to see it. The area it's in is horrible; scary horrible (like the area surrounding the Staples Center in LA). So don't go at night but I'd totally recommend coming by to see the venue if you're visiting. The staff were very helpful and it was surprising how many people were coming just to see the stadium and get some shots from the outside of the building.

Yelp
Completely biased opinion -- been a diehard Liverpool supporter since college (or "Uni", sorry), waking up at 5-7AM on the west coast to catch their matches every Saturday/Sunday (shameless plug for The Kezar Pub in SF / Lucky Baldwin's in LA). Been a brutal season (and we thought last season was tough) which has ruined many a weekend for me... but as our beloved anthem goes, hold your head up high... especially in a storm as bad as this one. Anyhow, me and a couple buddies from college had been planning this trip for some time -- somehow secured tickets to the Liverpool vs Chelsea match in the Kop end (if you've never heard of the Kop, see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDqtrYxHKJQ)... the atmosphere was indescribable, and we got to sing every song I was hoping to (YNWA, Reds Go Marching In, F*ck Off Chelsea FC, Fields of Anfield Road, Poor Scouser Tommy)... most importantly, Torres scored two brilliant goals, we beat the Cockney bastards 2-nil, and we did the Torres bounce into the crisp Anfield night. I mean, what were the odds that, after miserable performances all season long, we'd beat the top team in the league 2-nil! I'm thoroughly convinced Liverpool needed me and my buddies to sing them to victory... the Kop was in serious form that evening. It's hard to explain... as steadfast LFC supporters not from Merseyside, this literally felt like a pilgrimage. Walking up to the Paisley Gates gave me serious chills... we did the obligatory stadium tour the next day, which was decent (the dressing room is literally bare-bones... compare that with your average NFL locker room), and the Museum was great -- you get to see all the trophies (and given that this is LFC, there are a lot :)), montages dedicated to Shankly, Paisley, the King... it was brilliant. Had my own personal moment of silence for the 96 (Justice! Don't buy the S*n) at the Hillsborough Memorial, which is worth seeing. Be warned though -- the experience makes you realize like there's so much wrong with American sports... the LFC matchday feel was an experience authentic and genuine -- steeped in tradition, in which supporters are a part of the "Holy Trinity" of football... you feel as if you're a vital part of the match, a true 12th man if there ever was one. A sweeping generalization, but going to an NBA/NFL game usually feels ridiculously commercial and fake. I mean, UK football players applaud the fans after a match... isn't that what it's about? The only time that ever happens in US sports is when the team wins the championship when the players get their big performance bonus checks... but I digress. All in all, this experience definitely ranked in the top 3 moments in my life. So much so that it warranted my first ever, and probably only, Yelp review. Feels good to give back.

Yelp
Just a average stadium, but with great fans whos expectations are far to high now, they live on past glories. However i do repect the kop and some great european nights down there. The liverpool people love football and i do agree that it can create a good atmosphere...

Yelp
I am probably going to get shot down by the die-hard Liverpool fans here, but I think it may be time for the team to go ahead with the new stadium they are planning. The area needs a good cash injection and a bit of regeneration - this is not the same as taking away it's history. On the plus side, the souvineer store here is amazing, so much to choose from - I think I got stuff for everyone from my gran to my brother-in-law! There are some lovely gates dedicate to Bill Shankley. The atmosphere here is amazing, totally electric, and worth a visit even if you can't get tickets!
