My wife and I came here expecting to dive alittle deeper into Mayan culture and we definitely did that. Very educational. If you enjoy learning about others culture you would love this. The owners are very kind people. You make a home made meal with them, they teach you everything and it turned out delicious. Worth it!!

SUCH a gem of a "living history" lesson. And what wonderful people! Anita and Chris took turns walking us through Mayan foods, musical instruments, the garden and more.

The Living Maya Experience was truly unforgettable. The deep connection to culture and history was incredible to witness, and every part of the tour felt meaningful and authentic. The traditional food we helped make was absolutely excellent—full of flavor and made with so much care. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to learn, connect, and taste something amazing.

Mom & teen, we had a great time! Very engaging learning about Kek-chi vs Mopan Mayan dress, grinding corn & cacao (eating it later), tools & music instruments, etc., plants and herbs around the property. July-August is slow season--wish there were 4-6 more with us. Special fun learning about snail shells for lime, the plants, herbs and soap berries, too. A full 2-3 hr visit, $60 bz. Delicious lunch, better than at Eladio's Cacao Farm tour ($90-100 bz, a bit over-hyped & over-priced). But worth doing both experiences when in the south. Thank you Anita and lovely family! Restaurant onsite serves dinner. Occasional live music. Great place for beer.

Incredible experience if you are looking to understand the Mayan culture and lifestyle. The family that hosted us was warm and generous. Anita cooked an awesome meal with a little help from our group. I highly recommend this experience.
