After we were stranded in a completely wrong rooftop bar - which we quickly left before the bad vibe did us any permanent damage - we ended up here. Jackpot. Berlin minimal tech house in the air, a green oasis instead of a concrete jungle, plus a view of Johannesburg that almost makes you forget that we're not in Cape Town. The prices were a dream. The service was friendly, fast and without a hipster attitude. DJing here is definitely just as much fun as coming here as a music lover.

This was my introduction to the Maboneng Precinct and to The Living Room. My friends however, had been here before, so it was decided that we would enjoy lunch here, after a fascinating and informative tour of Ponte Tower (my review is available on Google maps). Seeing parts of Jozi having a renewal and revival is heartening. This place offers good food, drinks and vibes and you can spend a good portion of your day and night just chilling with friends. A DJ is on the decks which really adds to the atmosphere. The food and drinks were enjoyable and there was plenty to choose from, even for the vegan in our group, with a few changes to suit his requirements. The menu is modern pan African and this little twist lends itself to the cocktails as well.

We visited Living Room Sunday, January 7th We arrived around 1:30 p.m. and stayed till 6:00 p.m. I think. We had hummus which was delicious, different than I'm used to but very good. You should try it. We also had their cappuccinos which were delicious and they had cool designs on them. Always a plus in my book. We ended up changing seats three times, our server didn't even mind. I think she was the server to the entire room and she was phenomenal! We moved three times? Yes, we arrived and sat at one table but when space opened up at the chairs facing the view outside we moved over there. There's a gorgeous view of the city and so many pictures to be taken. However, it started raining so we moved back away from the window. We had come for Feel Good Sundays, to hear DJ 2Lani the Warrior spin. He was awesome! And Living Room was awesome. Very welcoming. I loved all the plants, everything was so green! I'll definitely try to make my way back before I head back to the US.

Beautiful venue, with great views over the city. Parking can be a bit of a problem and the food is ok‘sh - perhaps the waiter should not ask how the steaks should be done, if all of them arrive medium to well. Still well worth a visit though.

Great space, though it gets hot at sunset . They do have hand held umbrellas to navigate it, and once the sun goes, you're good. Cocktails are great. Cool place for sundowners. Meat platter was generous and enough for 4 people .

A beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Johannesburg... Situated at Maboneng, it makes for a great place to visit while that side of town. It has such beautiful aesthetics and beautiful scenery The food is amazing paired with music out of this world and a great vibe to match

Beautiful venue and lovely aesthetic, however it's not well insulated. Very cold especially during the winter months. Owners should consider getting paxiglass just to insulate the place better.

Good vibes and beautiful people. It was such an awesome experience to be at this jawn. The DJs really kept us dancing and entertained. This jawn has an awesome view of Jozi and the Maboneng precinct. Their toilets are clean and the security is tight. Please note that you're going to be charged an entrance fee between R30 - R50
