"Lounge in the Living Room The Living Room within the W Hotel is always swarming the beautiful people before a night out in Miami . The menu prides itself on quality ingredients and freshness, incorporating a variety of infusions, molecular mixology and other special techniques to create liquified versions of art. Bartender Scott Beattie creates the specialty menu that includes the Mango Ginger Mojito, Blueberry Acai Martini, Local Manhattan, Papaya Daiquiri and Secret Martini."

Stunning high sealing bar, with live music Thursday to Saturday. It is a great place for intimate conversation and lively music.

Google
Nice boujee atmosphere, good music, cocktails were ok.. French Martini can be so much better, but White Russian was good! Good place to fish for a “sugar Daddy” if you need one)

Google
I didn’t feel the vibe here - it felt a bit too “sterile” and no character. Even though the interior design is obviously upscale. The food didn’t look appealing from pictures. So I stuck to drinks. Had a Santorinitini and Blue Dream. Both were very refreshing Not a fan of mandatory 20% tip and then additional ask for a tip… despite that being standard for Miami, unfortunately.

Google
This place is so unique I don't think I've ever encountered one like it. It's very upscale so dress your best. Everyone will be looking very classy and or flashy and you can tell people here have money and they show it (or at least pretend, since it's Miami after all). The whole room lights up with multiple characters and becomes very lively, specially once the live music starts. The bartenders are experts at their craft and you can tell they have experience. Cannot comment on the food because we didn't have any. Overall it's a very expensive place but worth visiting to do one of my favorite activities, people watching and enjoying live music.

Google
Cute bar inside the hotel. It was low key and a nice vibe. We liked that we could talk without raising our voices. The drinks were well crafted and delicious. Service was attentive, but not pushy. A nice stop for an afternoon cocktail.

Google
We had a really great time, the service is great, the food is great, the drinks are well mixes. No complaint. The atmosphere at night is romantic, the set up is super cute, first timers and we'll be back!

Google
great drinks and extremely friendly bartenders - beautiful space absolutely ruined by a GIANT television behind the bar. the bar is dimly lit as it should be, the glow from the TV is enough to need sunglasses inside. Why is it there? very out of place and a drag on the experience.

Google
I had a great time at this lovely, peaceful bar, which offered a great selection of cocktails and delicious food. The staff was really nice and friendly. They even had live music playing! The prices were reasonable, and I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
The Living Room at the W Hotel in South Beach is an upscale and lavish spot to hangout as soon as they open, have an afternoon or evening drinks, after dinner or before going to a club or another bar. They have their signature and specialty drinks that is so good, and you can also order snacks, appetizers from raw bar, also small bites and desserts. Service is warm and friendly despite the luxurious ambiance and atmosphere. Check it out!
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Great experience here! Lucas and the rest of the staff were attentive and so accommodating. Great espresso martinis! For dessert we had the Paradise and the Chocolate Mushroom and they were both amazing! Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I love love the Living Room. Always have. It is essentially their lobby bar. It's vibe is never too packed, very sexy, and good music. Great place to meet up, have a few cocktails and bites, then take off to your next destination.

Yelp
Great vibe. Great service. Lots of comfy seating (literally, like a living room). We went for late night drinks after a weeknight dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was a DJ booth in the corner so I'm sure this place is bumping on the weekends. This night it was all dark lighting and chill music. I had the lychee cocktail made with Japanese whiskey and a passion fruit mezcal margarita. Both were delicious, but the flavors of the lychee cocktail were unique which made it my favorite. This is a great spot for groups with lots of seating groups both outside and inside. Definitely recommend visiting here for a drink and light apps if you're on the north end of South Beach.

Yelp
I love this place. Super chill with all the outdoor seating as well as indoor. Great service and awesome bartenders. The vibe is amazing.

Yelp
Incredibly relaxing and fun all wrapped into one. Managers, servers and guests all felt like family within minutes. They had a great menu, great drinks and of course a dj. For a little spot at the W, they hit the mark for whatever your vibe is.
google avatar

Jacob T.

Yelp
Great place to chill with friends over a nice glass of wine. Very cool vibe inside as well as the outdoor patio area. Excellent DJ. Bartenders are friendly and the manager is awesome. He ensured everyone was having a good time. The menu is small but the items were delicious, especially the sliders. Strong drinks and valet parking.

Yelp
The atmosphere in this bar is super cute! Very relaxing but the service was not that great. Sat for almost 40 min before any server asked us if we wanted a drink. If i wasn't staying at the hotel I would have left but I was really hoping to get a dessert and a glass of wine. The banana cream pie was FANTASTIC a true southern style dessert.

Yelp
We really had a great time the living room bar last night. We sat outside and the breeze was cool and relaxing. The service was very good. The friendly staff made sure our drinks flowed through the night.

Yelp
My wife and I came here twice during our stay last week in Miami Beach. The bartender Juan Carlos was fantastic. Very engaging and also quite skilled. He asked my wife the things she liked and came up with a drink for her that she indicated was on point. She also got some french fries to try and had to have them taken away for fear of eating them all which is a good sign. What I particularly liked was the atmosphere and also that they had Lange Estate Pinot Gris which is about as hard to find as a unicorn. It was a pleasant surprise and when you wrap that up with the way we were treated and the overall environment, it was a "10" on our scale which is not easy to hit.

Yelp
Low-key gem at the W hotel. Cocktails here are the best I've had on south beach so far made with fresh ingredients. Ask for Victor -- great service and he makes the tastiest drinks!

Yelp
I'm generally a fan of hotel bars. Kimpton ones are pretty much foolproof. XYZ at the W in San Francisco is always hopping. The Living Room at the W in Miami Beach also delivers. With a video shoot going on, dark sultry atmosphere, and bartenders dressed to the nines, this spot has all the makings of a winning watering hole. Here's the awesome: Elad (who could feasibly be mistaken for Johnny Depp...) is a cocktail guru. One with an attitude. But it's not unwarranted. Consider this: to smoke my glass, he fired up a blowtorch and roasted the hell out of some fresh rosemary. The only directions I offered were that I generally liked rye as a base spirit and wasn't a fan of sweet drinks. I ended up with a beautifully balanced cocktail with yuzu, ginger (you'll never hear me complain about Domaine de Canton in my cocktails), and rosemary. I should have asked for the recipe so I could recreate it at home. Well... sans blowtorched herbs. I'm reasonably certain that's prohibited in my apartment complex. The less awesome: To our left, some model-esque girl ordered a vodka tonic. I think I might have made a face. Isn't that like going to Joe's Stone Crab and ordering Campbell's clam chowder? To our right, some obviously self-important gentlemen were having cognac and Grand Marnier on the rocks. "Shaken hard." People drink that -not- as a shot? Does the wasted talent of exceptional bartenders bother anyone else? I suppose it just goes to show that something as epically awesome as the cocktail-crafting in The Living Room is just as likely to draw those who want to be "scene" as it does those who actually appreciate a -real- drink. Go. (Early.)

Yelp
Pretty is a dime a dozen in Miami but, pretty, classy, and serving some of the best cocktails in Miami? Now, that's impressive and that's just the perfect word to describe the Living Room, impressive. This salon like lounge has an effortlessly elegant vibe, overlooks the pool area, and oozes casually laid back luxury. For anyone lugging the lappy around this bar also has complimentary wi-fi. Making it the perfect spot for business drinks. Actually, the Living Room is the perfect spot for every kind of drink thanks to the boys from Bar Lab. Gabe and Elad are at the fore-front of Miami's blossoming bartending culture which translates into a wide array of awe inspiring cocktails think burning rosemary to infuse martini glasses, fresh fruit, homemade bitters, and an array of quality spirits. The next time you're craving cocktails do yourself a favor and settle into the W's Living Room, peruse the menu, chat up your bartender regarding your favorite flavors and then savor your time and your drink.

Yelp
I went to the Living Room on Saturday night with friends and was impressed by the space. The decor is swanky, and the place is dimly lit. It appeared the lighting did a lot to help the romance factor in the place...if you're into that sort of thing... The crowd was mixed and the drinks were overpriced (typical Miami). Our bartender was the slowest bartender in the history of drink mixing. By the time I got my drink I'd forgotten what I asked for. My own drink sounded fabulous on the menu (their version of an apple martini), but when I got it I wasn't too impressed. Overall I'd have to say this is a great bar to get the night started but not somewhere I could see myself spending a lot of time at.

Yelp
Atmosphere is cool. An upscale bar with drinks starting at $18 plus grats. They a bar menu. I didn't love pizza, very tomato paste based, and lacking flavor. However, the truffle fries are good.

Yelp
What sets an establishment apart is not how they treat guests when things are going right, but how they handle mishaps. I came here last night for some drinks with out of town friends. We sat outside in the delightful patio area and LuAnn took excellent care of us. We enjoyed some truffled popcorn, spicy nuts (heeee!), a glass of albariño, a Cucumber Collins (garnished with a beautiful purple flower!) and a Miami Manhattan. All was right until an extremely loud noise by the pool shattered our lovely evening. An investigation uncovered someone powerwashing the concrete around the pool. At 8PM. With a patio full of guests. FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS! When LuAnn came outside, she was horrified. She offered us a free round of drinks, and the manager also came over and explained that the work being done was the result of a scheduling conflict and had us moved inside. Everyone apologized profusely. So different than the typical Miami attitude of "Oh, so what, what can you do?". I felt badly about how badly THEY felt! Honestly, we were going to leave until the staff made such an effort to fix the experience. Once ensconced inside, we enjoyed the flattering lighting, a few more drinks and a prosciutto flatbread, which was excellent! All in all, the drinks and snacks are really expensive, but everything is beautiflly prepared with care and tastes delicious. Paying $20 for a drink is not as offensive when it comes with excellent customer service.

Yelp
The place with cheap vibes and music. Avoid if you want decent lounge experience and drinks. Very disappointed with W. Drinks are highly overpriced for the atmosphere and crowd. The decor is very cheap as well. There are better places around if you are looking for some class.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this through a friend visiting from Europe, and was pleasantly surprised at how cool of a place it actually is at night. The atmosphere was not too pretentious for SoBe, they played great live music (soul) and their bar staff was very attentive and seemed to have their mixing together. Next time I will have to try one of their cocktails because they seemed so exotic and delish. I just went for a straightforward drink and paid almost 20bucks. Despite that, I loved the experience and must agree with a previous reviewer by saying that this place might just become my favorite upscale bar in Miami Beach. Right on point with that. Awesome experience.

Yelp
If you want a top notch cocktail this is the place to go! This place is a little pricy but definitely worth the money if you want to stop in for a drink while on vacation. The ambience of the place is sophisticated and chill and we would have checked out the pool area if it was a bit warmer. The bartender was excellent at recommending a cocktail I would like and was very friendly. We will come back here for sure next time we are in Miami.

Yelp
I love this place , my friends and I were looking for a place to have a nice time and Alex the bartender showed us the best , such a professional . Coming back just for him !

Bayo O.

Yelp
Ameena! That's all I have to say! She's the best. I'm coming back to the W only because of her! Bottom line. A true asset to the W in my opinion. Ameena! Gold standard!
google avatar

Lynette B.

Yelp
Great place for some great cocktails, excellent service and ambiance. You're not coming here for cheap drinks so if you're looking for an inexpensive night out, this place is not for you. Regarding the bad reviews...uh...this is in the W Hotel. Why would you expect cheap anything? The W is known to be an upscale hotel brand. And their bar is top notch. Great bartenders who know and love their trade. Great staff that is more than accommodating. And I love the fact that you can move to the beat but are still able to have a conversation with the person next to you. An ideal spot to start the night...or end the night. An ideal spot for anytime really. They change their cocktail menus often so you're always in for a treat when you go. I can't say enough great things about the Living Room. Probably my favorite part is that it's never crazy crowded like other places. You may not find a seat initially but one always opens up within minutes. Yeah, I like sitting and savoring my drinks. This is definitely a place I love to sit and savor in.
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
Trendy upscale bar. You'll get what you expect. Most drinks are 20$ so for me and my girlfriend each of us had 2 drinks and with the added gratuity of 18-19% our bill was about 100$. There's plenty of space to sit and hang out with a TV for us to watch some March madness. Just anticipate an expensive drink. Probably best for a single pre dinner drink or just a little night cap.

Yelp
I've been to at least ten W Hotels in the U.S., so was excited to stop into Miami's version (http://www.yelp.com/biz/w-south-beach-miami-beach). The hotel of course, exudes South Beach, and has all the usual accoutrements you'd expect: a hypnotic pool area, sexy seating amidst the greenery, popped collars and cougars, even a Wall (http://www.yelp.com/biz/wall-miami-beach). But for money (and you can spend a lot of it here!), I'm just fine sitting at the bar at the Living Room, sipping on the gorgeously potent creations that Elad concocts. The dude is like Brian Flanagan meets Don Juan DeMarco -- even the way he describes each ingredient is intoxicating -- and he asked me a series of questions (Favorite spirit? Fruit? Sweet or Sour? Where I was from?!) before settling on a magnificent gin-based elixir, finished off with saffron. It tastes like sweet green grass, in the best possible way.

Yelp
First of all, if you aren't wearing glasses (even if you DO have 20/20 vision) then good luck seeing anything in this place! It is the darkest bar in all of Miami without a doubt. The design elements are enough to make the pickiest designer float off to heaven as everything is so beautifully designed. We've come here many times before we venture to wall. The bartenders are great and can create some great cocktails but this isn't really on the top of my list for a bar to visit. With prices at $20+ a drink, I would expect a lot more out of a place like this. The music is OK they play some indie stuff which I like and frequently have a DJ but the whole space as a whole is not really my favorite. Ps - Watch out for the hookers. They flock to this place!!! They are not hard to spot with their tummy-showing shirts and shorts so short that they don't have to bend over to get a good look. Or was it their winks to every guy in the bar and not-so-casual "hellooooo's" that gave them away? Only in Miami....
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Came here because it was listed on one of those best of list. Drinks at expensive and watery. I ordered a ginger rum and it just tasted like lime and sugar. Where was the ginger? The pool is nice, but you can't even sit near it. Not worth it with some many other choices nearby.
google avatar

Sabrina C.

Yelp
The W never dissapoints , this bar is not the exception. Great decor, nice crowd, laid back atmosphere. Drinks are well made and the bartenders are polite and attentive. The outside terrace is intimate and great for conversation.
google avatar

Allyn C.

Yelp
I didn't actually get drinks here because my friend and I walked in at 230 am, but we did meet some cool bartenders who showed us around to some fun after hours spots. The ambiance is cool, and the bartender, Jess, let my friend and I have an improntu photo shoot on the couch areas. We talked about what kind of drinks they serve and what he recommends and the drinks sounded really good. I'd like to return to actually try the drinks next time, instead of take photos and flirt/hang out with the bartender
google avatar

Annie K.

Yelp
We stopped at the Living Room to grab a drink before heading to a club for dancing machine mode. Swanky swankyyyy space. My friend checked into FourSquare saying "so fancy i feel like an olsen twin". Love her. Great crowd (we made friends with 2 separate sets of people sitting near us) and we had a super friendly and helpful server (she helped us choose cocktails/dessert). Speaking of dessert, I ordered the bread pudding and it was melt in my mouth ridiculously delectable. It was perfectly accommodated with a side of peanut butter ice cream. Bread pudding FTW.
google avatar

Juan S.

Yelp
Very chill and great vibe here in the W Hotel. Great outdoor patio as well. Besides the overpriced drinks here, this place can do no wrong.
google avatar

Flavia C.

Yelp
I love this W all around. IN fact it is my favorite one in the country. The pool is huge and right on the water. The service is excellent and it is chill and relaxing during the day without all the South beach drama and then turned up at night. I mention all this because the Living room is a great place to go either to have early cocktails after a day at the beach or pool or before going to famed night spot Wall or Mr Chow also in the hotel. I love this place because you feel like you are family. It is small enough that folks remember your name and it is classy and elegant and has the best cocktails around! Food wise I love the burger and the grouper sandwich and the fries are yummy! All of the bartenders are great I would give a special shout out to Erik who makes the most amazing craft cocktails there are so many to choose from o the menu but I suggest you just let him do his thing and you will not be disappointed. Ms. Rossi is always a pleasure to see sweet and gorgeous and always helpful. I also like the Crazy Russian but don't know his name since I call him the crazy Russian but he rocks too. I come for the view, people watching, but most of all the people! If you are a wine person they don't have a great selection but I do love the Whispering Angel rose very refreshing after a day in the sun. They can also make any of the cocktails without alcohol which I have done and they are delicious. Think fresh watermelon leche the works!
google avatar

Brad A.

Yelp
This little room is a fantastic hidden gem. It is such a cool, hip lounge to hang with friends before going out. There cocktails are on point and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The live band was great as well. Definitely will be coming back!
google avatar

Keith H.

Yelp
Paid 50 dollars for patron. The bartender gives me the bill and did not thank me and says welcome to Miami prices.
google avatar

Alisa S.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in Miami. Great ambiance and cocktails. Outdoor and indoor area provide two different experiences. If you get a chance ask for Alex, one of the bartender there - he's the best. Attentive, courteous and skilled.
google avatar

Beth H.

Yelp
Delicious cocktails and highly skilled bartenders, who can even make customized drinks for you. My husband asked for a savory gin drink with a spicy kick, and a few minutes later the bartender whipped up an amazing cocktail with cherry tomatoes, sage, Moroccan bitters and other fun ingredients. Best drinks. Well worth the visit.
google avatar

Chintan S.

Yelp
Decent place... But nothing great... Expensive shit... Every cocktail is $18 plus taxes plus gratuity adds up to 23 dollars a drink... Not worth d place
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Nice location. However, the slowest service I've experienced in a long long time. 3 parties in the whole place and it took 20 mins to get a round of drinks. Took 40 mins to get an order of food. Unbelievable
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Sobe! Classy, intimate, sleek, and sophisticated; this bar is a pre-game spot for most of the beautiful women headed into Wall next door. Great spot to hang out and meet people and the outdoor seating near the pool is so relaxing and chill. Definitely will be back as the parking isn't as bad as other parts of Sobe either. Just make sure to feed the meter to avoid the $18 ticket as the meter maids make their rounds often.
google avatar

Ellie M.

Yelp
Wouldn't waste my time here. Drinks are actually only okay compared to other pricey, mixology-focused places. Menu for high-end bar food looked good but didn't eat anything. Left after one drink (about $20 each), atmosphere was dull. Only appealing thing was beautiful decor.

Paula R.

Yelp
Great drinks and simple apps for a quick vacation snack in Miami. Try the Tom Collins!
google avatar

D W.

Yelp
The Living Room is a great example of W style - fantastic decor, evocative music, enticing ambience - fileld with an interesting, attractive blend of euros, cougars, fashionistas, models and minglers. Opens up to a great outdoor deck, pool area and secret garden. Good drinks...although nothing comes cheap. And if you think the living room is great, you should see the bedrooms!

Rick S.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon, hopping around to different bars. The place was reasonably full, but not unbearably so. There was one bartender working. Didn't seem particularly friendly. I think his name was Michael. Asked for a drink menu, he said he would give us one if he could find one (which he did, but what kind of comment is that?) We ordered two cocktails. They were pricey, $21 each including tip. We asked about food, just wanted some popcorn, but he said that would take over an hour. We later saw other people getting sandwiches, burgers, etc. in a reasonable amount of time. Not a particularly fun place and, at least on the Sunday afternoon I went, not a enthusiastic bartender.
google avatar

Marianna L.

Yelp
And 2 stars just cos of the bartender!!! After reading the reviews here, it feels like it was only us, who got so unlucky! But our bartender (maybe he was new????) gave us an attitude, he obviously was having a bad night. Before serving us, he had to throw away the drink he made for other customer (it should already ring a bell). Anyway, it looked like it came by surprise for him, that for mojito he needs to muddle mint, so it gives the flavor. So what we got, was shaken club soda with some raspberries and sirup, cos it felt like no alcohol or mint. We've asked him to redone it, but he answered, that we gonna get exactly the same, cos this is the way he does it..... He even sent us the other bartender. Vodka-red bull was very well made. The place itself was beautiful especially outside patio and pool and the crowd was nice.
google avatar

Stefan W.

Yelp
poor service and most horrible gin & tonic (i mean, what the **** can you do wrong) ever! didn't feel like at a 5 star hotel at all. never again. not to speak of the unusable restrooms. DONT GO!

Art G.

Yelp
Amazing place to stay, great service, awesome atmosphere.Very helpful staff and the hotel is also part of SPG. Drinks are great, you can enjoy cigars in the patio as well.
google avatar

Alina Flavez D.

Yelp
I'm here this weekend for a shoot, some modeling, some mingling and alot of party's. Last time we were here the Doorman All Sucked, Rude Etc....even for a bevy of beautiful woman scantly dressed, they must of " played " for the other team lol .
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
My favorite spot to chill in south beach, when you don't want to be in a club or harassed by men. Thu-Fri-Sat nights are great and the drinks are delish. Bartenders here are also very sweet. Try the watermelon market.
google avatar

Jason F.

Yelp
Very good looking crowd. Fun to people watch. Only drawback was that each round of drinks for 2 cost me $38. Good place to hang on a Tuesday night just make sure to have a few drinks before you arrive.

Nora P.

Yelp
I would give a full 5 stars for the creative mixed cocktails that the bartenders can make here. Using fresh ingredients and instinctive palates they really can accommodate anyone. The food is more in the 3 star range mainly because of price and portion size. Good laid back vibe in the early evenings.Fantastic people watching.
