Whenever I visit REI, I can't help but compare it to LL Bean in terms of the quality of their adventure gear and clothing. LL Bean has consistently impressed me with its selection of high-quality products. Although their dog section is quite small and understocked, I believe they can improve it in the future. The staff at LL Bean is very friendly and accommodating, and they even gave us two $10 off coupons, which was a great bonus. Overall, my experience at LL Bean was very pleasant and charming.

I need petite sizing, something many clothing outlets do not provide. At LL Bean, they not only have a petite section, but you can ask the staff to find you a style in petite if their in-store inventory doesn't have it. Shipping is free to your home if you order online. And you have a year to return the item if it doesn't work out...with or without a receipt if you charged it. It's my new favorite store.

Teri was absolutely fantastic during my visit at this location. First off I wear a lot of LLBEAN clothes! I love the fit, colors and they keep me warm in the winter! Right gear for the season is what LLBEAN does well!! I was looking to change up my wardrobe a bit and Teri helped me put a few outfits together and I really appreciated her feedback. The whole store was a very pleasant experience.

I had a wonderful shopping experience. Everyone greeted me, offered me a changing room & Noone was pushy. I really appreciate that. If I could afford to shop exclusively here, I definitely would.

Look for Annie. She's the best. I spoke to her on the phone, she treated me with kindness!! Went out of her way to put a hold on some jeans for me so when I arrived they would be there for me! Great customer service!! 10 stars for Annie!!!

I have currently filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because LL Bean Mastercard has not accepted my power of attorney because they say it does not have my address. All other financial institutions have accepted the Power of Attorney. My personal lawyer has never heard of an address as part of a POA. LL Bean has taken an auto deposit from my mothers account and accepted payment in full by check for each month since 2022. Their statements do not reflect credit balances and as a result are deceptive. I am sure many people have credit balances and are unaware of them. I have removed the auto withdrawal from the bank account. LL Bean Mastercard will not discuss the account with me as they will not accept a valid POA. They refused to let me speak to anyone in legal or escalate to a senior executive. This is totally unacceptable. All I want is a check for the approximate $4700 to be written to my mother and mailed to her address.

We’ve been going to and ordering from LL Bean for years and never have been disappointed. They are great. Highly recommend. 👍

Yelp
Great selection of pants. Hard to find my size. Angie stepped in and found several options for me. She also got the number for a special order that I took downstairs to check out. Bought 3 pairs of pants. She also had the important feature of a good sales person, a great smile. Angie is the best.

Yelp
Two stars for Llbean moving out of Northern Virginia where it has been for twenty years. But 31/2 stars for the store in North Bethesda, Maryland. The Maryland store is a very uncomfortable store to shop in....two stories (but there is an elevator back in the store behind a wall thru a hidden door...somewhere). Women's clothing is upstairs, of course. Upstairs is not a convenient nor friendly area in which to shop as shirts, blouses etc are separated into many different areas, shelves of items are placed too high to conveniently browse, coats were intermingled with tee shirts--fewer salespeople that are not easy to find as the area is the size of a gymnasium. The store is uncomfortably crowded with racks of clothing making shopping oppressive and very much like a large discount store. Please, Llbean come back to Tyson's Corner where your store was much more spacious/friendlier better layout, pleasing to the eye and always many customers (I was the only customer in the Maryland store).

Yelp
We were in the need for new outerwear for an Alaska trip. Went to the Tyson's Mall location and it was permanently closed. Went to the Bethesda location and it is not as useful as the old Tyson's location. It is smaller and a less well equipped shopping experience for choice, selection, and style. It was a bad decision by L L Bean to close their Tyson's Corner location.

Yelp
Awesome location to have a Sporting store at! It's literally in the heart of Pike and Rose where parking garages and lots surround the establishment (first 2 hours are free). There's ample items to choose from with a decently supplied discount or sale section as well. I appreciate how organize everything is in this store. The bottom floor is mainly outdoor gear like fishing equipment or camp supplies whereas the upstairs is primarily women, men and children's clothing. It's not very crowded in the store either and both employees and customers are required to wear masks upon entering. There's ample hand sanitizing stations and the fitting rooms are temporarily closed at the moment.

Yelp
I've been looking for my son a warm jacket, so I decided to come here since he like LL Bean. Many items to choose from, just not really the colors he's looking for. He wanted a black or a darker color jacket, but he didn't see any. My son isn't too much of a picky selector. So, he decided on the light gray jacket which will keep him warm for the upcoming Fall and Winter season. We will be back in a couple of weeks.

Yelp
Great spot. Pile and rose. 2 stories. Big selection. Get there. Park across the street.

Yelp
This L.L. Bean site is larger and newer than the Tyson's Corner location but oddly has less selection. It's a great layout, brightly lit and clean. Stopped in to buy a specific item in the middle of the day for my daughter. Was pleased when a cheery female employee greeted us when we walked in, and called ahead to the department we were heading to for that employees to meet and help us: a very nice customer service move on the part of Employee A! Except it didn't work. Turned out Employee B was either on his work break and/or highly disinterested: he wandered out briefly when we arrived, said to let him know if we had any questions, and then immediately went back and disappeared into the employee area. As my daughter knew what she wanted, we waited for about five minutes for him to reappear. When that didn't happen, we found someone else on the floor - who called Employee B to come back out. This happened about three or four more times - and included him telling yet another employee to help us since he was going "on break" (without a word to us, my daughter overheard him): Employee C looked at him blankly and when he'd disappeared in back again, *she* wandered off without saying a word to us. Luckily, we had nevertheless managed to get what we came for, so after waiting a little longer to see if he'd come back out to make sure we were all set, we just went to the cashier, bought out items, and left. Cashier was very pleasant and efficient.

Yelp
I needed pants and tops for an overseas trip and was able to find everything I needed. Ashley and Barbara were phenomenal at helping me, finding the right sizes, and giving great suggestions. They are a true asset to L.L.Bean.

Yelp
I visited LL Bean@ Pick&Rose first time (5/25/18). I was in the neighborhood. The store has been open almost a year. It's still looks new. Spacious, well lit, easy to walk around. Women section is just into the entrance, Men's in the center of the store, outdoor, backpacks in the back. A sale was in progress. I got a new wind proof light jacket on sale. The sales associate was helpful & courteous. Nice neighborhood shopping experience.

Yelp
I stopped by on a weekend and there were a few folks in the store - the area where this store is located doesn't have a lot of foot traffic but I am sure it will increase once more of the restaurants near it are finally opened. It was my first time visiting this location (2nd visit to one of their stores) and I had initially gone in just to check it out. I have purchased a few items from their online store in the past. This store has 2 entrances (both next to each other) and as you go in, you will see the stairs in front of you (on your left). For those that don't feel like walking up 3 flights of stairs or are not able to, they do have a spacious elevator that you can take up to the next level. Once you are in the store, go past the stairs, then to your right for a few steps and then you will see the sign for the elevator - it looks like it can hold a little over 9 folks (just my guess). They have 2 restrooms on the upper level as well. On the day I visited, I decided to check out their boot selections. I am a fan of duck shoes (well, that is what I was told they were called back in the day) and I know they last for years (my first pair, which was my last pair lasted almost forever), so I was here to look at their choices. I looked at the boots for women and the ones I liked average about $130 and I almost bought one, but noticed it didn't have the warm padding on the inside of the shoe. Besides that, I know it would be sturdy and last a long time, so I plan to go back on a future date and try on some to actually purchase a pair. The employees in this area were both very helpful so I will be back.

Yelp
I had a really great experience today. After feeling completely ignored at REI, not to mention not being impressed with their sandels, I went across the street to check out L.L Bean. L.L.Bean has always been an important brand to me. I lived in Maine and used to get Christmas gifts from their catelogs. The people at this store couldn't have been nicer. Elizabeth helped me try on some sandels and I left with a pair that I really liked. I can't wait to return.

Yelp
I love this store, it's really nice, bright big windows and has everything you could ever need. We always stop by on our way to Jinya, about two doors down. The store is laid out well. Tents and backpacks on the first level, and suitcases, boots, shoes on the second level. I always get the best customer service here. They'll look up your LL Bean card if you forget it (super guilty 100%), give a military discounts and apply your LL Bean bucks without hesitation; yes they can look this up too. And LL Bean has the best return policy. They price match. We always find boots for the entire family. Very attentive staff. I bought my first pair Blundstones here because the sales lady had them on. What a great sales person. DD loves the clothes and jackets. So glad this store is here! They even have an elevator, how cool is that?

Larissa J.

Yelp
I am originally from New Hampshire so LLBean is like a religion to me...I love the clothes and the brand. I have to admit that this was my least favorite store I have ever visited. The staff were not very helpful and seemed like they had other things to do. I came in to exchange something but instead i just asked for a refund so that I could go to another store or even online to change my purchase. I will not be going back to this location...too many negatives for me to want to go back.

Yelp
I will say the experience in the store was great, but the problem solving and resolution from this store is absolutely horrendous. This was my first time buying a nice pair of boat shoes that will last (or at least I thought would last). I went into the store on 5/10 around 5:30Pm purchased boat shoes and the next when I wore it, I noticed the stitching was coming off and allowing the sole to remove from the shoe. Well, I called the store and asked them what to do since I was now an hour away from the store and they asked for a receipt (perfectly reasonable). I told them, I had the cashier keep it as I thought there wouldn't be an issue with the shoes. Well, they tried to look up the transaction in their system, but apparently, they couldn't find it (even though I gave them the time I purchased the products, the product codes, and the exact dollar amount of the transaction). They proceeded to treat me like I was trying to pull a fast one on the store and provided no help (when all I wanted to do was exchange the shoe... realizing that sometimes shoes are defective). In all, they referred me to customer service, which each level became more and more of the same. Whoever the manager, should have been able to resolve this issue, but instead has turned me off from LL. Bean... Especially, since I called the store again today and have been hung up on twice now...

William L.

Yelp
We stop by here fairly often just to walk around and browse since we live at Pike and Rose. This location is 2 stories and pretty large overall. We have always had good experiences here, as the staff are friendly and willing to help out. We had bought a white/navy canvas tote but it got ruined on our trip to Hawaii since the leather started to bleed into the canvas and stain it. We went back to explain the issue and to our surprise, was told that L.L. Bean offers a 1-year satisfaction guarantee (similar to Patagonia) that allows you to return at any time within the year if it is defective in any way. Excellent customer service and received the refund promptly.

Yelp
3.5 stars. The best part: no driving to Tyson's Corner to shop at Bean anymore! The worst part: the selection at the Rockville store is not nearly as extensive as at Tyson's. Some things I was interested in and which they did NOT have in-store: * petite sizes of Primaloft jackets * any of the wool coats such as their classic "polo coat" * women's cottage cotton sweater with funnelneck Other than that: the store is nice, the staff is nice, and it's straight-ahead Bean. I'm sad that I'll still have to drive (or Metro) to Tyson's if I want to try on various items and sizes. I really miss the store at the Mall in Columbia. *sigh*

Yelp
Came in here to exchange a jacket but a a guy who claimed to be the manager Tim was passive aggressively not cordial and lacked basic customer service etiquette. Instead of letting us talk, he came up with his own story on what happened and did nothing to remedy the problem. We spent a lot of money on a jacket that was worn once and had a rip in it. He refused to do anything about it. If this were a jacket that had been seriously used and worn I get it. When we asked for his business card he said he didn't have one and when asked for his name he said you can look at my name tag. I'm not sure why this dude represents a company such as ll bean. There are a million other brands out there that we can happily go to. Good job Tim! Making ll bean look really good

Yelp
I love LL Bean. Their products, customer service, and return policy are all at the top of any list. This place is also a lot more convenient to get to than their location at Tysons. It's a slightly smaller store, but I was still able to find all the staples. It's also nice being able to get fitted for shoes and boots without having to fight through dozens of people. Definitely a place I will be visiting often when I'm in Rockville. This shopping center is getting better and better.

Yelp
This review relates to an online purchase for a pair of boots. I was originally going to give a 3 star rating, but downgraded a star after the company wouldn't allow my review to be posted on their website. I love the boots that I bought, but am very disappointed regarding the insoles. They wore out after about 3 months of buying them and I had to buy an actual pair of insoles that would last. These were not cheap, so I would have expected the soles to last much longer. Not sure if I will buy another pair in the future, as the quality of the boots and lack of transparency leaving a review on their website has been less than expected.

Yelp
I am writing about the LL Bean customer service for an online purchase. My husband's sweater developed a hole after only a few wearings. They would not offer any refund, credit, or exchange until I shipped back the sweater at my own expense in order for their warehouse to determine the cause of the damage and whether or not we would be issued a refund. I will no longer be an LL customer.

Ricardo A.

Yelp
LL Bean has traditionally been a client oriented store, but my experience with the manager at Pike mad Rose has proven otherwise. I tried to make an exchange for a pair of boots that I mail order from the web store, they did not have one size down at the store, I picked a similar boot and ask her to apply the 25% discount I had received when I purchased. She said no, after another cashier said it was ok, because they didn't have the right item. She was passive aggressive and conflictive. The wrong personality for this type of store. For the last few years I've been buying at REÍ because they have amazing service and the one time I want to make a comeback to LL Bean I get this type of service. I chose to return the boots and never to comeback to LL Bean, really upsetting she did that, it's only a few days before Christmas and now I don't have the present I needed for my son.

Yelp
The new L.L. Bean location in North Bethesda, which just opened at Pike & Rose a few months ago, is fantastic! They have a large selection of both active outdoor clothing, as well as gear. The store is very large (it's two stories!) and boasts a large collection of items. Service was very nice - we were looking for a winter cap and someone at the store helped us locate several options quickly. I'm not an expert, by any means, of outdoor/active clothing or gear, but I was impressed with the layout, size, and selection at this L.L. Bean location. I would certainly return. And it's conveniently located within walking distance from a movie theater, bowling alley, several other shops, and several awesome restaurants. Parking is also convenient (just park at the Pike & Rose public lot down the street).

Yelp
Could not write enough positive things about my experience over the opening weekend of this new store. I had not thought about writing a review until I searched Google for the store's hours and saw some of these silly people's negative reviews and my jaw hit the floor. Do they have nothing better to do than to complain about things online? Apparently so. Parking was adequate, it is obvious Pike and Rose is still under construction, but I had no issue finding a spot close by (lot adjacent to Pinstripes). Store staff was courteous and attentive, even though the store was very busy and I'm sure most of them were very new to LLBean. I'm sure that with a little more time The store is friendly to well-behaved pups. I brought my dog with me, who was lavished with attention from the staff and other customers. While we were there, we got to meet LLBean's spokes-Labrador, Millie, who got along quite well with my little guy. Although not as big as the Tyson's store, I found the selection to be quite good and everything I intended on buying was in stock and in my size- which never happens! Don't believe the reviews of the nasty folks that think Yelp is their personal soap box. Those wannabe wordsmiths take pride in their ability to project their miserable existences onto the rest of us through their absurdly negative reviews.

Nano B.

Yelp
Located in the Pike and Rose shopping area, this location is two stories and had a good selection. Parking can be a hassle if you need to find a parking spot in one of the garages during a busy time. The store website has a calendar of events - there are some free clinics on evenings or weekends, where you can learn about hikes or how to camp. I've learned good information at these laid-back clinics. There is an REI close by, so you can walk over to see their selection, and come back to LL Bean if you conclude that the item you were looking at at LL Bean better meets your needs or price point.

Yelp
Oh no!!!! I was looking forward to LL Bean in MoCo. I had already picked out three pairs of boots I wanted on line and thought it would be so great to try them on at the store before buying. Went there early this morning for their grand opening. Waited in line 45 minutes in the freezing cold for store to open - which I expected. What I did not expect was that after the store opened, they apparently would not let the folks who were standing outside for so long inside very efficiently- not sure what the problem was, but after waiting another 20 minutes outside AFTER the store opened, estimating that only a hundred people entered within those twenty minutes, and the line had only moved up a few feet, I gave up. I figured at that rate I wouldn't get in for another 3-4 hours and I figured I had ZERO chance of getting in help once inside the store. When you live in MoCo and have to spend 3-4 hours a day commuting to areas that actually offer jobs, you cannot afford to spend 5 hours in line to get into a store. I guess I'll go back to my tradition of ordering online and traveling to Tysons Corner to return since most LL Bean sizes are non conventional and don't fit appropriate to conventional sizes, which deters from ordering from online - but nevertheless it's easier to get in and out of Tysons than crammed up Pike and Rose and TC actually has great restaurant choices, unlike P&R. This really shows the desperation of MoCo residents- I'm one of them, we just have so few options and so little competition that businesses here don't have to offer customer service or quality or value. MoCo LL Bean clearly doesn't value its MoCo customers, LL Bean knows MoCo customers are so desperate, such customers will have such low expectations that there's no need to put out an effort. I choose not to do business with such establishments- i work too hard for my money, but more power to those living off of daddy's wealth in MoCo and not demanding customer service and value because they're spending daddy's dollars (I'm even speaking if grown adults here living off the generosity or inheritance from their parents - it's sad, and brings us all down because we cannot hold such establishments accountable).
