I love the bookshops in Barcelona. This would be the best with its beautiful curation. Even though the selection of English books are small it was very well put together. Overall I loved the atmosphere.

This is my favorite bookstore in Barcelona. It is one of very few ( if not the only one ) with a wide selection of books in the arts, photography, social sciences, anthropology, philosophy and contemporary studies. It is housed in a charming old building with a light filled cafe and a back garden. It is the perfect spot for a literary pause. I keep coming back time and again. Dogs are welcomed : )

Great selection of English books! The bookstore is a 10/10 its really beautiful and they have a cute cafe/garden inside their I had an amerrcano and it was good and the pistachio cake was really delicious 🤤and they had good selection of books that talks about Palestine which is really great!🇵🇸

I was really looking forward to visiting this place and unfortunately was completely let down! While the general aesthetic, and also the bookstore itself was plentiful, beautiful and easy to navigate, every single person working there acted terrible. The entire time I was there, I felt like an inconvenience to the workers and I never even asked for help. I browsed the books and minded my business just genuinely happy to be there. In fact, the only interactions I had with the workers was when I was purchasing four books and also getting a coffee and pastry. The first barely spoke to me or made eye contact and huffed when I answered her question about if I wanted a bag. The second was in the coffee shop where after ordering she rolled her eyes, talked to her coworker about me in Spanish (which I speak) while I stood there waiting making fun of my clothes and then annoyingly gestured to my coffee being done once it was set up on the counter. I’m happy I finally got to see it, and purchase some amazing books, but the workers ruined it all for me and honestly just felt like bullies. I went on a Friday morning so maybe everyone was sleepy / not awake but it kind of ruined the rest of my day being treated like that

This is hands down the best bookstore in Barcelona! It has an incredible selection of books on art, design, and fashion, spread across three levels. On top of that, there’s a lovely café inside the store—perfect for taking a break and diving into your new book. If you’re in Barcelona and want to treat yourself to a fantastic book-shopping experience, this is the place to be. Amazing selection, great atmosphere, and a little slice of happiness for book lovers. Don’t miss it!

One hopes while traveling to find a magical bookshop that captures the spirit of its city: la Central is Barcelona’s answer to a traveler’s hope. A beautiful selection of print material bookended by two outside courtyards shaded by orange trees and grape vines and serviced by a cafe. I asked for Orwell’s Homage to Catalonia in English. The floor clerk said, “easy” and handed me a ready copy. I sat in the courtyard reading Orwell, sipping an iced americano, listening to the fountain and parakeets jostling in the palm tree above. One of the best travel moments I’ve had. A magical place.

If you’re a book and coffee lover like me, then the hidden coffee garden of @lacentral_llibreria is a perfect place to get comfortable in Barcelona! It can get really hot in the sun so there are also indoor window seats, which were perfect for me. Surprisingly their coffee was actually better than most coffee shops’ I’ve had in Barcelona!

This is one of the best bookshops in Barcelona. First of all, you're drawn in by the architecture. They have refurbished a ca. 17th century building with a modern interior and filled it with books and a lovely café. One could spend all day here looking at all the different topics on offer. The café has a daily menú del día which the one time I ate there was very very nice indeed. This review was written in 2008.
