"While Lloyd may be best known for its inventive Mexican fare, it’s also one of the most forward-thinking cocktail spots in Buffalo. What started as a food truck catering to the business lunch and weekend festival crowds became a North Buffalo staple when it opened its first brick-and-mortar location on Hertel Avenue in late 2015. Today, it continues to be a go-to for classic cocktails like margaritas and palomas, made with fresh ingredients and quality spirits. The mezcal drinks are delicious, especially the Green Hornet (mezcal, honey simple syrup, spicy tomatillo shrub, lemon, cucumber), but if you’re not into smoky spirits, try the Midsummer’s Daydream (rum, strawberry-peppercorn shrub, aloe liqueur, lemon, pineapple, rosé)."

I absolutely love the “El Camino” (I get the chicken one) it’s my go-to dish every time! The flavors are bold and satisfying, and it always hits the spot. I highly recommend pairing it with extra chili sauce—it’s the perfect sauce (the mild is not spicy) that complement and takes the dish to the next level. Great food and great vibe!

Google
I literally order the same thing 90% of the time how do you mess it up? When Lloyds first came on the scene I enjoyed their flavors and now it’s just “meh”. What I truly despise is when I order nachos to go you put my protein in with my queso and for the amount of money you pay and what I paid today it’s not enough protein or queso in this by a long shot! What happened!? It’s always off when I dine here it lacks the consistent flavors it once had. I also didn’t get my rocket sauce with my order so and the presentation was unappealing. This really is disappointing.

Google
Nice tacos and nice environment 👌 I love it the nachos and the bar area 😋 For the next time, I'm definitely gonna taste more nachos and burritos flavors 🌯

Google
This place started as a food truck and then created a brick and mortar. Their food is solid street Mexican fare. They are always developing new specials. Definitely a solid choice for eats.

Reliable service and a convent location! The folks here have always been friendly. A great place to sit outdoors and have a good meal.

Google
Delicious food, and quick service! Amazing variety, not your average taco shop. The full service bar and connected ice cream shop are awesome! We will definitely be coming back.

Google
I came to Lloyds today with coworkers and got the Dirty South Burrito with beans and rice. I loved it so much that I brought my wife back for dinner. Yes, I got the Dirty South again! We also got the Crack-ed Potatoes. Everything was delicious!!!

Google
I like this spot. It's simple, friendly and the food has a nice twist to the cuisine! Definitely a must try spot. Known for tacos 🌮 and burritos, they have an awesome buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, called the Mother Clucker, delicious!

Yelp
Great food at great prices!!!! I had an amazing lunch date here and loved the braised beef and fish taco! The elote looked amazing too!

Yelp
Wow! Bought two pork burritos last night and that was $28. Picked them up and drove home only to find out neither of them had cabbage, cheese or guacamole that we had paid for It was way too cold to go back We were very upset after paying a lot of money for them Very disappointed

Yelp
Though I've had the food truck many times, I recently checked this place out at their restaurant location for the first time. I was with a group of friends and opted for the El Camino bowl. I was able to add a tortilla on the side so I could make my own burrito if I chose as well. The meat option I got was a blend of beef and pork and was flavorful. I also enjoyed my Bolo Tai cocktail alot and had two of them. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I ordered pickup for dinner here and the portions are just right. Very busy for a weekday, but I ordered online and went to pick up. I was glad I had someone with me so I could double park to run in and pick up. Only street parking and it was a busy area. We got the food home and it was very good. The portions are just right and the prices are good. I would love to go try other food items as I saw some yummy selections they were preparing, while picking up my order. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
This is my first time back since moving out of the city and returning. So it's been quite a while. I remember when they first opened up. We stopped in for a quick lunch and the food did not disappoint. Lots of good options for tacos. Their nachos were good, next time I'll order hot because I needed more heat. I love that that they had a bar. It was pretty empty when we got there at lunchtime. Plenty of seating available and staff was nice and friendly. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food at Lloyd Taco Factory. Especially the dirty south taco! It was so good. The big Lloyd was delicious as well and my wife enjoyed her fish taco. I thought the tacos were priced reasonably and the wait time was pretty quick. You can check out my video review on my YouTube Channel Sweatpants Joe Eats. Yelp
Ordered takeout from Lloyd's Taco. I have been eyeing this spot for years and decided to give it a go while visiting Buffalo for our annual outing. I had the black bean quesadillas. My husband had a chicken burrito. The food was delicious, but I wouldn't say it was beaming far above average, but undoubtedly better than Moe's. Would totally visit again, and dine in person and for the ambiance and to better review the menu offerings.

Yelp
I literally only use Yelp to read other people's reviews, not to make my own, so let it stand as an indication of how much the quality of this restaurant has dipped since I moved here a few years ago. This used to be my go-to for burritos, but the proportions of the meat to everything else just gets worse and worse every time I came. It got to a point where I stopped getting the fish burritos because there was more mayo than fish--even the multiple times I tried extra meat in my chicken burrito (which makes it like a $16 dollar burrito, for the record) I quite literally got less than 2 McDonald's nuggets worth of chicken on two separate visits. I keep asking myself why I come back, and I know it's because the food was really good for a lot of years, but at $16 dollars for a meal that contains less than half a cup of actual protein, I'd go anywhere else. If you're wondering why this review is one star when the complaints are about portion sizes, it's because this was originally a 3-star review I never posted, but I went to Lloyds last night and got not one (because I kept eating after the first, I'm no complainer) and not two, but THREE thick, curly, loooong black hairs on the inside of my burrito. And I'm literally blond so I know they aren't mine-- I'm definitely going to try and never come here again, but if I do and something like this happens I'm pretty sure I'd call the department of... whatever you're supposed to call. :P

Dawn K.

Yelp
The three different tacos ordered were pretty much all smashed into one box completely saturated, and looked like it was a salad. Disappointed. Definitely not the same quality when first started out. If I wanted that, I would've just went to Taco Bell

Yelp
I am IMPRESSED with the bartenders here. Zane in particular waited on us at the bar and made some serious cocktails off the menu for us. It's giving high end feel to a basic Taco eatery. I really enjoyed the snozzberry mule!!

Yelp
Ordered & paid for 3 items, got home and only 2 items in bag. Friday night in Hertel, no parking near, not happy about going back. Took food to girl who gave it to me & told her she owes me a taco & she told me she can't have my food on her counter. Not sorry for your trouble, not here this is how will fix this just I can't have this food on my counter. Paid for 3 items, got 2 and had to deal with a rude, vapid representative of Lloyd's customer service. I'm 70, other employees chuckling at my dilemma, guess is if you're young, they'll take care of you. Since I won't be getting any younger, won't be going to Lloyd's again. Stopped @ Mighty Taco where I paid, again, to complete my order.

Yelp
My first time at this location and it was everything I'd have expected. This spot is set up to be fast casual so you order, find a seat and they call your name when your food is ready. There is an also a full bar there where you can order and pay separately from your food. Food menu is the same as the food trucks. I had a braised beef el Camino, bowl. It was delicious just like when it's off the truck. A good sized portion and the meat was tender and full of flavor. In my opinion the pickled onion makes it amazing. Bar had lots of cocktail options. I had the margarita, very tasty and not too sweet. Lots of seating and full of young and cool clientele. A fun spot to try when you are in the area.

Yelp
Lloyd on Hertel is my favorite spot for Mexican street food. We had the Dirty South and Fish Tacos, Black Bean Nachos, and the Big Willie Burrito - everything was delicious, and their rice and black beans are a must-try. The vibe is super chill with graffiti-covered walls, and when there's no sports game, they play classic movies or cartoons on the projector. Drinks are great too, though the bar staff could be a little bit friendlier. Still, it's the perfect place for a late-night bite on Hertel!
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
I just love Lloyd's! You can't come in here with a strict desire for authentic Mexican street tacos- you have to take them for what they are- which is awesome flavor combinations and food profiles, a great modern take on tacos. Sit at the bar and have one of their great craft drinks too! The sticky sprouts are to die for and my favorite tacos are the dirty bird and the braised beef. If you catch a food truck out and about, it's your lucky day! We often buy tortillas and a churn ice cream sandwich to go, too! The inside is modern and has great colors/decor, and staff is always friendly.

Yelp
I know it isn't "authentic" but man I love this place. It's so yummy just don't expect authentic. Not authentic doesn't mean not d e l i c i o u s !!!!! especially their pulled pork nachos, I dream of those. They give you abundant toppings but not grossly drowned in mayo like lots of other buffalo places. Their tacos are classic and unique and I love them!! even the weird waffle one and the big lloyd that literally tastes like a cheeseburger !!!

Yelp
Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to Lloyd Taco Factory. He absolutely loves this place and well I've never been there so he took me First impressions of the place was that it was a place for friends, couple, or whoever to go have a drink, eat, and have a fun time. There was also a bar and outside tables. Cleanliness was spot on as well but yea a social atmosphere, good music too. We ordered the cracked potatoes and the dirty south burritos The potatoes were crispy, nicely seasoned, topped with some green onion or chives with another green type vegetable leaf type thing and some spicy sauce. Deelesh! Much flavor The burritos though was packed with chicken, rice, and vegetables. Kinda taste like there was some coleslaw in there too. It really added to the flavors and the product. Mwah! Ooh and waffle pieces Rating: 5 Bring your significant others, friends, fam and enjoy your evening

Yelp
Love love love. Great food- this was one of the first places I ate after moving here. Very very hip place - staff was so helpful and welcoming! Service was quick.

Yelp
Great drinks! Also the tacos aren't bad, especially liked their holiday duck one! Side dishes are also pretty good, my vegetarian friend always gets the sides. Good atmosphere inside, upscale but not pretentious. They project movies sometimes which is cool. Would recommend stopping by for just a drink and/or food
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Can never go wrong here! The food every darn time is great and the seasonal offerings are fun! Also the drinks are "chefs kiss" The odd colored pipes and tubes are odd but who cares when everything else is so good

Yelp
It was a last-minute decision in the midst of hunger, teetering on the brink of hanger. But Lloyd saved the day. And not only did he save the day, but he did it with such a level of prowess & flare that even the taco gods would bow down in his honor. Needless to say, Lloyd Taco Factory knocked it out of the park. Service is efficient, having an order & seat yourself situation going on. They even had a kiosk to order on your own. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, & brags a unique decor style. And on top of it all, their menu is consolidated to perfection. I got the Dirty South taco (their modern hot take on chicken & waffles gone taco) with a side of Crack-ed Potatoes (Glory in potato form. I can't tell you about it. You have to take a bite for yourself.) and not that my picture does either of them justice, but there was a quiet, yet noticeable trend going on in their food. It's made with quality, layered flavors, & a rich decadence throughout. I left thinking about what I just ate, knowing it was special & should be appreciated as such. So, moral of the story? Lloyd's is a banger.
google avatar

Yelp
I like those weird cheesy spring roll things. Get them. They will bring you joy. For a main dish never get the tacos, they a good, just way to small for the price. You need to eat 4 to feel full and at that point you might as well order a burrito for half the price.
google avatar

Shan S.

Yelp
This is my go to for awesome food excellent service amazing drinks and great atmosphere! I always order a grilled chicken with the pickled onions omggggggg DELICIOUS I will forever be a customer!
google avatar

Jen E.

Yelp
I've had the food truck food, but this was a whole other level! The brussel sprouts were delicious. The chicken and waffle taco was amazing!!! Not greasy at all. I think it's the amazing corn tortillas that really take the taco to the next level! Now that I know how good it is, I'm definitely going to have to go back and try more!
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
A favorite of ours. Never disappointed with what we get! Loud atmosphere but the food is delicious!

Yelp
This location is super hip and edgy. Lloyd in its self is a vibe. As their menu depicts, Old school Mexican meets New School spin. I find that people either love them or don't like them. And to that I say, the trick is ordering the right things on the menu, and staying away from the food trucks. For whatever reason the food from the Factory's (Hertel and Main Street) are just better! If you're not super hungry, a couple tacos will do the trick. Or if you going full dinner, perhaps a burrito, or Camino, or nachos, with a taco app and an Aztec brownie for dessert. They also have misc items, like krazy korn, Aztec salad, quesadilla, cracked potatoes, mother clucker... all of which are great! Lloyd is a once a week meal for our household. They deliver consistently almost every time... and with the variety of options you can't go wrong!
google avatar

Aly W.

Yelp
We did not eat here, but I've been wanting to try an Aztec brownie forever so my husband ran into get a couple at the end of our festivities along Hertel Avenue. He was quickly in and out. The brownies are so good, rich and chocolatey with the right amount of heat (for me). One of these days I'll make it in for food and drinks. So many fun and unique offerings along Hertel Avenue. There's something for everyone.

Pete J.

Yelp
Parking A pain in the butt. Ambiance Nice fun chill vibe. Very relaxed. Service Quick. You order at a kiosk and pay. They call your order and you pick it up. Simple and to the point. Food Pretty good. I think they have a lot of options and 20$ will fill you up. Will come again when in the area.
google avatar

Frank W.

Yelp
Great Mexican fast food! The wait can be a bit long, but the food is worth the wait!
google avatar

Wayne B.

Yelp
Ambiance is fun, tacos are fine. Extremely expensive for the quality you are getting. Lloyds has a cult-like following from their food truck days. I don't know, they make things that taste like tacos, but not worthy of the cult status- I feel. Skip the ice cream, it is incredibly ordinary. All in all, there are better tacos on the street.
google avatar

Yai W.

Yelp
Every time we go there, it's always a positive experience. Great food! The tacos taste really good. My favorite is the southern one.
google avatar

Rosa W.

Yelp
Good experience at Lloyd's! Love the quick, casualness of it. You go up to the counter and either talk to an employee or use the little touchscreen computer thing. Simple menu, quick service, nothing complicated. Pick a seat and sit down to eat! Also has a great full bar for some fun! Awesome! Fast tacos and margharitas?? Great combo. I would like to say that the taste of the food is very unique. Maybe the sauces or spices that they use? Idk, you'll either love it or hate it. Definitely not your average "Mexican tasting" menu, if that's what you're looking for. Prices aren't bad. I went on a friday night and it was pretty crowded but we still found a place to sit down. Its nice and clean and well maintained. Overall no complaints. Nothing fancy but you get what you get! :) had a good time.

Yelp
(4) ~ very good overall food & service MENU: ** Drunken Chicken Quesadilla = (4) very tasty when you incorporate the salsa & pickled onions;)

Yelp
I've never been to a place where creativity is poured into a drink and tastes as good as it looks. The hospitality the bartenders provide is exceedingly great.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a great place to go to in the summer. Lots of vegetarian options. The bartenders are very friendly as well.

Yelp
I had got early off work on a sunny Friday and I was in mood for some fresh tacos. Ever since I found similarities between tacos and Indian dish roti-sabzi I have been thinking of trying tacos at different places. Yelpers have been generously reviewing this place, hence I decided to try this place out. Lloyd taco has a green theme. They have a beautiful bar area and they have kept their menu limited which makes it easy to pick and choose your options. I sat at the bar area right next to the door. I had ordered three different tacos. Individually they are all a little under $4. They were all fresh and you can feel all the inividual flavors inside your mouth. I had a non-alcoholic drink suggested by the bartender that had ginger. I don't exactly remember the name of it, but I have attached a photo of it and it tasted good with some himalayan pink salt.
google avatar

melissa s.

Yelp
Gave it another whirl here. Met the girls for an adult beverage last night after a particularly foul week. Bartender was a delight! I got the Rick burrito to go. Had to do it, my bff is my dad and that's his name lol. Damn it's good!!! It has this spicy Szechuan chicken in it . It huge obviously like all their burritos. My gripe this time is when a side of queso is over $1 and get about a tablespoon. Also the guy at the counter had a major attitude. Also, the girls had this lavender margarita. I hate margs, but they loved it!! I thought it looked too pretty to drink lol.
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
I live around the corner and have gone here more than I know. Had Rick's burrito today, and like everything, it was amazing. Chris is a beast bartender. Ask him to make you a drink, and he'll do it. When people say "surprise me" he does, and then the rest of the bar wants what he does. The Biscotti Liquor in the Gennaro is the secret. You didn't hear it here, but say it, and he knows. Just my favorite place on Hertel. Get a couple tacos, and drink a cocktail or two.
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Man, has this place gone downhill. The one star is for the customer service. The food, certainly not as good as it was, is ok- not great- not terrible. Probably prefer Chipotle at this point- at least it doesn't take an hour. My partner and I placed an order online, at the wrong location- after realizing within seconds, we tired to remedy the situation and /or cancel and switch the order to Hertel. However, there is no process for this! You can't handle it online and they don't answer the phones. No other avenues to reach them. We still have not heard back after leaving multiple emails and many phone calls over a period of a week. Aside from this issue and the decreased food quality, orders take super long and the atmosphere emanating from the bartenders is Hipster DB-esque, not friendly and and lots-to-be-desired service. I say all of this fully understanding how challenging this industry has been over the past few years and don't fault the the frontline employees but this seems to be a failure of organizational leadership. This is not the first issue I've had here. Sadly, it seems the norm and likely won't be heading back unless something changes.
google avatar

Jenna R.

Yelp
Lloyd hits the spot every time! I get the chicken burrito, and it's always delicious. The staff is always so nice when we go.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
I was finally able to go back to Lloyds. I was told to give it a shot and that there would be something I liked, so I switched it up and got a burrito. It was yummy chicken and waffles, and I am pretty sure there was rice in it, which was surprisingly good with the syrup. We also ordered some mixed drinks and those weren't great. It wasn't my favorite, but it was yummy and I found what I would order if I went back!
google avatar

Henry T.

Yelp
Nice open space on Hertel with a bar and cafeteria style seating. I've been here a number of times and can say the food is top notch, from the appetizers to the desserts. Bar offers a limited draft list but has excellent cocktails. So what's my beef? Ordered two tacos for the first time. The smallest tacos, by far, I've ever seen. When I say small, I mean 2 bites. At $4 a piece. I literally asked my server if there were 2 tacos on my plate! You pay that much for a single La Davina taco and it's at least twice as big. (Sorry I didn't get a picture) Very disappointed. I'll stick with burritos here unless those have been shrunken by Rick Moranis too ( you know the movie lol!)

Leonard C.

Yelp
Disappointed that they were at Larkin square but by 5:30 were not taking any more orders! The event started at 5.Bad business.

Yelp
This is my first time reviewing Lloyd's but not my first time eating there.  As usual the food is really good.  I got the Tricked out Nachos, a Dirty South taco, and the Big Lloyd burrito.  The Tricked out Nachos were really good and were packaged so the chips stayed crisp, some assembly required.  All the flavors were good and balanced.  The Dirty South taco was fine.  It seemed to be missing something and the maple flavor was barely there.  The chicken was cooked well and all in all a fine taco.  The Big Lloyd burrito was definitely big and packed with ingredients.  It tasted just like a Big Mac and was enough food for two people.  I really enjoyed this and will get it again for sure. I did order through a delivery app so I never interacted with  anyone from the restaurant.  I will say though they take the extra time to package their to-go orders to ensure they arrive the best condition possible ie not putting queso on the nachos etc. I do appreciate those little details.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Always a good time at Lloyd. Impeccable vibes, nice bartenders, great drinks and great food. No complaints.
google avatar

Yelp
No diet soda? Take a hike chump There is no diet soda, so get a cocktail. Someone gave this place one star for no diet soda, this is my way of counteracting that take and a favor to the universe. Everything is fucking delicious. Might I recommend the tropic thunder. While you're at it, get the burrito of the week - if you don't add pickled red onions, your loss. Now I have to go, they're playing return of the Jedi and my food is ready.
google avatar

Vicky B.

Yelp
I love Lloyd - their food truck, their location in Williamsville, and this one on Hertel. Usually I'll get the El Camino bowl, or a burrito, but for my most recent visit I got two tacos. They were delicious, but tiny. So if you're hungry, you'll need like 4 tacos to fill up.

Yelp
That was the strangest restaurant experience I have ever had! I have been out all over, and never had hot food served cold in a restaurant. And then played off like it is normal. I am still mystified. The food was cold, not hot, not even warm. I thought maybe I had done something wrong in my order, so I asked. James the cashier and he said, 'no, it should be warm. Let me see what we can do.' None of the food (nachos, tacos, burrito, cracked potatoes) was hot. Not even warm. Sooo strange! Let's start with the positives: 1.) The cracked potatoes; they were warm, so not all the food was cold. They were warm, not hot. And they were good. 2.) James, the cashier; he was very helpful from greeting us to answering questions about the menu to seeing what he could do for us concerning our cold meal in a restaurant. Huh? 3.) The atmosphere and the Sabres won in OT. The negatives: 1.) FOOD WAS COLD. Burrito, nachos, and two tacos. All COLD! 2.) They did nothing for us. Not even offer a desert, not a $5 dollar gift card to get us to try the restaurant a second time, nor a refund on the cold nachos( ah yes, even though the queso was COLD, the tortilla chips were good), or discount the COLD burrito. Nothing, just a 'sorry, I hope the next time will be better.' 3.) Limited Seating 4.) Customer service, beside James, see above. :)

Yelp
Lloyds is always very consistent and very good. Great good, amazing drinks, and always a spot open at the bar. Definite recommend!

Yelp
Today I had lunch at Lloyd's on Hertel with six other family members. Overall the majority of the food was very good. The exception was the two six-packs of churros. They were so caked in baked crusted excess cinnamon that my granddaughter needed to scrape big mounds off before she could attempt to eat them. The churros were inedible to the point of stinging a child's taste buds. Other family members tried them and joked that maybe Lloyds was trying to recreate the TikTok cinnamon challenge. I brought the unopened six-pack to the order desk and explained the issue. I was told that another batch would be the same. The apathetic counter staff refused to issue a refund for the pack of churros.
