I was only planning on staying a few nights here, but I went down with flu as soon as I arrived and was super sick. The staff were really amazing. They got me moved into an empty room and looked out for me. I ended up staying over two weeks while I recovered. Hostel itself is great and fairly priced. Heaters in the rooms, very well equipped kitchen, hot showers. It’s also literally minutes walking from some world class day hikes. Highly recommend

Room was simple and could have used a few hooks to hang clothes/towels/gear. However, the shower was great, location is good, nice well equipped kitchen and a great place to meet other climbers. It was also pretty clean which is never for granted in a hostel.

Nice hostel. Stayed in February 2023 for a week. There was always soap and paper in the toilets. Both of the bathroom and kitchen were clean most of the time. There was 3 fridges and a spacious eating room with a nice view to the mountains. Also the staff was very kind and helpful, specially Fátima who helped us throughout our stay and gave us important insights. As cons I would say the shared room for 3 people was very small and the lock in men's room was broken, so anyone could get in.

I loved my stay in lo de trivy. Not expensive, authentic, super friendly staff (really amazing!), big kitchen with everything you need. The room was a bit cold at the beginning but the lady from the reception helped with the heater immediately.

Really liked this hostel. Kitchens were good when they were well kept, although can get dirty with some ignorant guests. Rooms were a little cramped but were comfortable. Staff helpful, especially the English speaking staff who were very patient with us without Spanish! Common area is nice for chatting and meeting people, but can be ruined by ignorant groups who stay up talking/shouting until after midnight which isn't ideal when you want to be up early for hiking. It's a great hostel in general though and one of the best for price certainly

An expensive place without any value accordingly. Let's start with the fact that the kitchen is in a separate house so you have to go outside and cross a slippery and dangerous lot to get to it. When we arrived there was no electricity, cell reception or Wi-Fi. They claim it happened all over the area, but friends in other hostels said they had electricity and reception. The following night the cold water didn't work so we got burned in the shower. The next morning there was no gas so we couldn't cook breakfast. When we came to complain about everything, they told us there was nothing we could do and claimed that we would still have to pay the full (and exorbitant) price of 27,000 pesos per night per person in a shared room without toilet and shower.

Comfortable extremely friendly hostel where my husband stayed for 7 weeks while climbing in El Challten and where I stayed for a night when I met him there. Kitchen and bathrooms are very clean and the non dormitory rooms are quite nice as well as very well priced. Manuel, the owner/manager is extremely helpful in all ways. Highly reccomend.

We stayed for 3 nights at Lo de Trivi to explore El Chalten and the hikes around.||Our first impression was OK. The room was small and very warm and the bathroom was clean.||However, we soon realised that the walls between the rooms are tiny and means it's possible to hear absolutely everything. ||As there are no staff staying on the property overnight, we had to deal with the noise issues. ||Granted, most of the issues we had were based on the guests there at the same time as us but the owner was not helpful and lacked any responsibility.||Would not recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to relax after a long day hiking.
