The atmosphere is very nice. It gives the impression of a place where locals go. The employees are helpful, and when they feel you can't make a choice, they politely say they can help you. I don't agree with the negative comments that “people talk loudly inside”. The lady sitting on the side (I think she's the owner of the business) was speaking with the employees for their management and this was more pleasant in terms of understanding their culture rather than being annoying. As for the food, we ordered "spaghetti pomodoro e basilico" and “regina margherita pizza”. We also had white house wine (bianco) and birra moretti as drinks. The pasta was delicious. The pizza was delicious and very large. Nice place and nice employees. A nice place to go again. Prices are not too high compared to other places in Rome.

Wedged between two of the main streets for food and cocktails, Lo Zonzone is a bit overlooked by the everyday tourist, which is perfect for those who want an authentic Italian experience. Food (particularly the pizza) is great and the prices are very good for the area. The negroni also happens to be the biggest I’ve had in Italy and for 7€. If you have a few nights in Rome, give this place a go, you won’t regret sitting outside watching the world go by.

Good service, and people there speak multiple languages. No communication problem, they understand everything very well. Pizzas are very good , we ordered 4 cheeses , salami , and the one with prosciutto mushrooms and ham. They are all rome style pizza , thin and crispy. They are large pizza , big portion, don't over order.

Genuinely the best food I’ve had in Rome, definitely the best tiramisu I’ve had in the city! Wonderful people taking care of you as well, will be back on my next trip.

Maria is always friendly and perfect owner. All dishes are delicious and nice. The house white wine is natural sparkling and very good! Definitely recommend to all my friends to come when visit Eternal city!

The food here is very delicious. You can taste the fresh ingredients. The carbonara was very tasty. It seems the chef makes the ingredients speak for themselves. The service is good. I found the cocktail too strong but that is my personal taste.

Yelp
After exploring the city for quite a while, I was looking for a good lunch spot. Lo Zozzone was recommended by my friend so I made my way there as it was in the area. A pro trip for most touristy countries is to avoid restaurants that are close to very popular attractions or town squares. They are likely going to be overpriced. If you go off of the unbeaten path a bit, you will likely be rewarded. Ambiance (4/5): Lo Zozzone is a quaint restaurant with some cool decor everywhere. Unlike most restaurants in Italy, which are all about al fresco dining, Lo Zozzone is an indoors experience. The tables are close to each other and to the walls so it can get a bit cramped but that's my only complaint. Service (3.5/5): Typical European service. A bit slow, a bit inattentive, but acceptable. You may have to grab your waiter's attention here and there but you'll make it. Food (3/5): Lo Zozzone is known for their Roman-style stuffed pizza which is a bit deceiving as it's basically a sandwich and not pizza. They have a huge menu with various toppings and sauces and such. It'll be served warm on thick, focaccia bread and it will be filling. And moderately priced at that. I went with the prosciutto and sun-dried tomatoes which made a nice combo. Just a sandwich in my book so not spectacular but it did the job. Drinks (4/5): I had a soft drink so not much to write about here. If you're looking for a restaurant with some character and you'd like to try some food that Rome is known for, Lo Zozzone is a good choice. I wonder how their non-sandwich/stuffed pizza options fare.

Yelp
I chose this restaurant because it was hidden down a path near piazza Navonna and was not full of tourists. I like to experience small local spots when I travel and this place looked so magical I had to go in. The food here is delicious. Some of the best pizza I have had around Rome. It's tasty, and light. Very flavorful! I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately they didn't have pasta available this evening so I wasn't able to try that, but it just gives me a reason to try it next time I am in town. The decor is adorable, very eclectic and reminds me of eating in someone's kitchen. It's so cute and lots of fun things to look at on the walls. The wait staff is very kind, and attentive which is not always the case in Italy but you have it here. This place was wonderful and I will add to my must do when in Rome list for sure.

Yelp
Walking around the busy piazza Novona area I stumbled upon this picturesque restaurant, as I turn the corner the location in the middle of the alley-like street immediately caught my eye and the best part "no waiting lines". First impression of the place it feels like you're at Nonna's home, very charming. I ordered the Pizza Diavolo, also wanted to order pasta but waiter assured me the pizza would be enough and he was right, pizza was tasty and big!! I can't wait to go back to try the pasta and the tiramisu which looked delicious when they were delivered to the neighboring table.

Yelp
PROS --Location! So close to Piazza Navona, and unlike all the other restaurants just 50 feet closer, there is NO WAITING IN LINES here! --I tried several restaurants in the Piazza Navona area -- this one served the best food in the nicest setting, no contest! --Very nice people. It does feel like you are eating in someone's family home. There was even some occasional "chastising" amongst the staff in the spirit of mama wielding a wooden spoon. Funny and endearing. --Best pasta I had during my 2.5 weeks in Italy. This place deserves better reviews. Pasta Zozzone. --Great pizza as well. I had the Diavolo. --Comfortable and quiet atmosphere -- I loved getting away from the crowds CONS None! I wish this place was in my hometown so I could go to it often.

Yelp
We were recommended to go here by our AirBnB host. Slightly off the main tourist area of Piazza Navona. I would call this a hidden gem family business. We had the spaghetti pomdoro (9 euro) and Divalo Pizza (10,50). Both were excellent. Great sauce that I cleaned up with my bread. Had the house red 0.5 ltr (7.00), my wife (non-wine drinker) thought it was amazing. Probably because she likes sparkling water lol. Despite the fizz, I drank it anyways lol. Decent prices, authentic vibe, excellent food.

Yelp
The pasta zozzone and rigatoni alla gricia was absolutely incredible. Great family restaurant away from all the annoying tourists. Loved everything. Going back again and again!

Yelp
We have eaten at this restaurant every time we come to Rome. We love the quaint and inviting atmosphere, the servers, and especially the food. We were greeted by Stefano and seated. We knew that they made superior pizza, so that is what we ordered. We had a 4-cheese pizza and a mushroom pizza. When I say that the crusts on these pizzas were paper thin, I do mean paper thin. They use the finest ingredients to make this ultra-thin pizza. They were so delicious and filling, plus you can't beat the price. Two pizzas, water, and 1/2 liter of white wine was € 27.50. This is the place for pizza! We liked this place so much that we met my sister (who was also visiting Rome) and her Italian friend for lunch. Three of us enjoyed the pizzas - one with grilled vegetables, one with prosciutto and mushrooms, and one with 4 cheeses. They were exceptional - so thin - so tasty. My sister and her friend in addition to sharing the pizza with prosciutto and mushroom also shared grilled eggplant and zucchini. It was a warm day, so we had to get 4 small bottles of water. They do not offer the large bottles, which is a shame. My husband enjoyed a 1/2 liter of white wine. Our total bill was just € 50.

Yelp
We stumbled across this place while looking for dinner on a rainy night in Rome. They were pretty empty but had good reviews online, so we decided to chance it. I'm so glad we did! This place is not fancy but has the best pasta I've had in Rome in the past few days I've been here, and for a very affordable price! Wine is also good. The decor reminds me of a stereotypical Italian country restaurant/kitchen. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
My guy and I have been to this restaurant twice and plan on another trip before we leave. We had pizza, carbonara and veal al limon. Very quaint place, good food and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The house wine is lousy. This wine looked like soda. I could not take it. The edge of the pizza came burnt. I never go back to this place.

Yelp
This place is like going to your best friend's house and they happen to be Italian and cook really well. Warm and friendly .. Dora, the lovely puppy will greet you but "please don't wake her when she is sleeping', per the sign on the wall. Everybody loves Zozzone!

Yelp
I am from Rome and I used to go to the original Zozzone. I was very disappointed when I went again this year, I was treated really badly by an owner who could not be bothered to serve us our pizza. He got angry when we didn't understand that you are supposed to pay for the pizza first and get it after, and we were ripped off when they didn't have one ingredient we wanted, and had to pay extra to substitute it with lettuce that was not fresh anyway. The pizzas without lettuce were decent, but no better than what you can get in any pizza al taglio, and a lot more expensive. Definitely not worth getting treated like an idiot and yelled at!

Yelp
I stayed in the Teatro Pace residence (you can't call it a hotel, it's just too eccentric and wonderful for that) just next door. The Pizzeria Lo Zozzone is totally cool. Dressed and fierce ready to go out, this place is yours. Easy . And too late the next morning with no makeup. No problem. No judgment. You don't have to feel like an American.
