This place isn’t your usual coffeehouse, it’s a beautifully curated space where good coffee meets thoughtfully selected clothing and Aesop care products you can browse while your drink is being made. Their breakfast is truly unmissable: the bun comes perfectly baked, holding a soft, cloudlike egg that makes every bite quietly amazing. We paired it with their latte, which complements the meal effortlessly. And before you leave, grab some Fika to go, trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

A relaxed industrial vibe that promises good coffee and food. Together with an apparel section that includes Norse projects, Ymc, Another Aspect and others, as well as skin care range (including Aesop and Perfumer H in store) it’s really an easy choice. Their mesquite latte is always good, I can never replicate it at home 😂and served with a cardamom bun, makes a great combination.

Whether you’re there for a coffee, a weekend brunch, or a casual lunch, the quality is always consistent. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are clean and well-balanced, and the presentation is simple yet elegant. I also love how the space blends a modern aesthetic with a warm, unpretentious vibe. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly take pride in what they do. It’s the kind of place you walk into and immediately want to stay a little longer. One of my Cape Town favorites, without a doubt.

Great coffee place with a Scandinavian/Japanese vibe. Great service. They even offer "FIKA", the very Swedish concept. Even though they, according to my friend call the cinnamon rolls fika 😀 I have been to this so many times and I have to add that the service is amazing. Darlington makes the best matcha in Cape Town! The food is scrumptious, and the atmosphere vibrant. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

In a word - phenomenal!! I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast of mushroom ragout, which consisted of creamy torn oyster mushrooms, sourdough toast and poached egg. The portion size was spot on. Coffees are great. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Ambience and decor was muted and relaxing. So happy to find Loading Bay still here and hope to visit again soon.

The place is very cozy and welcoming, staff are so friendly and well aware of the food they sell. They have recommended many plates to us and all were perfect. We loved the cinnamon bun and the ricotta cheese sandwich.. the coffee is perfect as well..

Very good place for breakfast. Food is tasty but portions are rather on the small side so ideally take a main than a small side, my go-to was pancakes + cinnamon bun. Coffee drinks are very good and a must have. The decor is sober and the concept of double store and the Aesop + clothing section is definitely interesting. Service was good but not excellent, also because the bar in general is quite high in Cape Town. Recommend it!
