L'Observance

Stayed here for two nights and loved it. Great rooms which were very spacious and a lovely courtyard and pool. Run by a very nice Dutch family. Would definitely stay again if in Avignon.

What a charming place - with such gracious and helpful hosts. Our room and bathroom were huge, comfortable and very well-appointed. There was a very good breakfast in the morning. It is located on a quiet street but within only a few blocks' walk from most of the main sights and train station of Avignon. There are a number of terrific restaurants nearby also.

What a wonderful place to stay in Avignon. My wife , son and his girlfriend stayed for 3 nights near the end of August and this was the perfect place , inside the walls of the city but super quiet. The hosts were really nice and very helpful with some great advice on where to eat and what day trips to do if you are so inclined. Breakfast was super and served at a communal table , which was fun , meeting people is one reason to travel. I would not hesitate to return. The photos on the website do not do justice to how big the rooms are by the way.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay here. We were in the ground floor apartment opposite the breakfast dining room. It’s fairly basic, but the shower is good & the bed is the best we have ever slept on when on holiday. My wife & I are very tall so it’s always struggle to find big beds & we NEVER agree on mattress comfort… until now! Despite the crazy hot weather, the rooms were cool thanks to the air-con (on for our arrival) & the pool was in use at every opportunity by our daughter. The hosts are very friendly & chilled, with restaurant recommendations provided along with wine & nibbles for my wife when sat round the pool (bring insect repellent to avoid bites!). The breakfasts were amazing. Loved the fresh bread, offer of cooked eggs & the ‘grown in the garden’ figs.

Charming and historic building houses this great hotel. Really well situated within the city walls, 15 minutes walk from the station, the Palace de Papes and the famous bridge. Lovely garden and swimming pool to enjoy at the end of a very hot day. Rooms are large with well fitted bathroom. Excellent hosts who are both friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely recommend.

I really like this place. Took the family for a week long visit and this was a great place to come back after a long day of driving or walking. Rooms are average, but in good repair and comfortable. We had the suite at the top of the stairs, good size, AC worked. Shower was a bit small, but is worked. Owners are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was quite good with a lot of selection that would keep you going for the day. Location is excellent for driving to, then walking to the business area for food and wine. Grounds are in great shape and the dog is very friendly. Small point, if you want to park on site, you'll need to let the owner park. Quite tight. I'd stay here again.

What a gorgeous, peaceful setting, perfect for strolling into Avignon - no need for a car. Our apartment was cosy, well equipped and super quiet. What makes L'Observance special is the great hosts and amazing breakfasts. We really appreciated all the homely, stylish touches and delicious food. Jeroen went out of his way to give us great travel tips and make us feel welcome (we really loved Violette restaurant!)

This accommodation was the most expensive in our whole 2 weeks trip. And I have to say it was the best place that we stayed. We were 2 couples, room really big enough. Love their settings, how they decorated the house. The house owner are also really cute, made great breakfast and were so helpful by telling us what we could eat, where to go etc. I already miss their house, you feel like it is your house too. Really cozy! Next time will reserve again! Really really really recommended!!!
