"Barbados’ Best Spot for Lobster, Lobster Alive There's simply no better place to get Caribbean spiny lobster on Barbados than Lobster Alive. Fact. Why? Because practically every lobster sold in every restaurant on the island comes through this one unassuming location. The problem is that due to Barbados' natural shoreline topography, there are no quality lobster habitats – the waters surrounding the island are too deep to support lobsters in large enough quantities to meet the tastes and demands of locals and visitors. This means that all the islands lobsters need to be imported and that's all done by one man: Art Taylor, an Australian with an airplane who realized long ago that the best way to get fresh lobster in Barbados was to go off-island and get it himself. Each week, he flies twice to Bequia in the Grenadines and loads his small single-engine Cherokee airplane with a good 700 pounds of the spiny treats. Yum!"

You can watch the sunset while eating. Nice band sort of jazzy. Beach in front of you. Staff very friendly. Jazz band even played something for my Mrs birthday. We even got a birthday cake compliment of the management.

Convenient restaurant right on Carlisle Bay with their own parasols and chairs on the beach. The lobster spring roll is a must. It's delicious. Lobster tail was cooked to perfection and was big for a small lobster tail. Catch of the day was soft and flaking away. Chips are flavoursome and cilantro rice was fragrant.

The most wonderful atmosphere & the BEST lobster I have ever eaten, an all round 10/10. Came once 2yrs ago and returned today, still as brilliant as it was last time. Definitely my favourite restaurant.

A Seafood Experience to Remember! Grand Lobster Platters is an absolute must-try for any seafood lover! The whole experience feels like a celebration — fresh, massive lobsters pulled straight from the tank and grilled to perfection right before your eyes. The meat was tender, buttery, and bursting with flavor, perfectly complemented by the generous sides of fluffy rice and seasoned fries that had just the right amount of crunch and spice. The presentation is half the fun — a stunning central platter piled high with perfectly cooked lobster that makes for a true showstopper at the table. Whether you’re sharing with friends or indulging solo, it’s both a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. From the freshness of the seafood to the fun, social atmosphere, Grand Lobster Platters delivers a top-tier dining experience that’s hard to beat. I’ll definitely be coming back for another round! 🦞🔥

The vibe was a bit crowded (maybe we were there on a cruise ship day), especially beachside. However, the lobster lived up to its reputation and was impressive.

Fresh amazing lobsters just by the beach. It's on the pricier side, but worth it, we came here twice. Can be busy in the evenings, booking recommended. Going for the lobster itself rather than other dishes makes sense here.

Lobster Alive, Barbados – Lovely Beachfront Ambience Before leaving the island, I visited Lobster Alive for a solo lunch. Located on the beachfront, the light, beachy decor perfectly matched the vibe. I was warmly greeted by the front-of-house team and my waiter. In a rush, I managed to enjoy a starter, a rich pasta main, and a glass of wine. The food was nice, though I’d try the lobster next time. The calming ambience, with gentle music and stunning beach views, made it a worthwhile experience. The front-of-house team went the extra mile to help me get a cab and navigate traffic quickly to my destination. While I’d happily return, I’d also feel content if I didn’t. Worth a visit for the atmosphere!

Lobster Alive is definitely my favourite restaurant on the island. The lobsters couldn’t be fresher and were grilled to perfection. The live jazz band was amazing. We had a fabulous time dining here and will certainly be back again on our next trip to Barbados!
