I had Jojo and she is amazing! She took the time to listen and help me figure out what I wanted and gave suggestions on what looked best for my hair type and face features! She takes her time and makes sure it’s perfect and exactly what you’re wanting! She’s the best! :)

I just moved to Nashville a couple months ago and looked for a hair stylist and I just had the BEST experience today at local honey! LINDSAY really out did herself with my color correction and taking my hair from dark to auburn/red, she also brought it back to life with my cut! I showed her pics of the color and cut I wanted and she did dam near better than what I showed her lol! I would recommend this girl 1000x She really did an amazing job! And her personality was the cherry on top 🔥

Daniel is incredible. This was my first official curly cut. I was a little nervous, but I'm so glad that this lovely shop in Nashville is where I ended up. Everyone was extremely kind. My cut and style were exactly what I was hoping for. I believe this was achieved due to the in-depth conversation we had prior to the cut and Daniel's phenomenal talent.

Sebastian is incredible! I highly recommend you go see him. He made sure my haircut was perfect. He cut meticulously, washed my hair gently and gave me a full blow out. The best I have received in Nashville :) Can't wait to go back and see him again.

Google
Katie Conley was wonderful. I am new to the area and got a haircut somewhere else which I was not happy with and was lucky to find Katie. She listened to my concerns, walked me through the adjustments needed (which made me feel more comfortable), and fixed it! She had great attention to detail which I greatly appreciated. Glad to have found a hair salon in my neighborhood and looking forward to being back. Thank you Katie!

Rachel Grogan is hands down the best stylist I’ve ever worked with. I trust her completely, and my hair has never been healthier. She just gets what I’m looking for—whether I’m going lighter, darker, or impulse bangs—and absolutely nails it every time. The bob she gave me is the best haircut I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt more like myself. On top of all that, she’s just the sweetest. Appointments with Rachel feel more like catching up with a friend than anything else. I truly look forward to every visit. I’ve recommended her to so many people, and they always love her work too. She’s a true gem!

Google
Mikey did an amazing job! I don’t trust many people to touch my hair but I’ll definitely be back to get a cut from him! Very methodical and precise on each and every cut.

Google
I had such a great experience at Local Honey East! The space is open and beautifully designed—it's a large salon with stations thoughtfully arranged to feel both airy and personal. The overall vibe gave me Urban Outfitters energy—cool, creative, and effortlessly stylish. Everyone I encountered was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It's right off of a busy street and their parking lot that can be difficult to exit when traffic is high, but there is plenty of parking around the building. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Yelp
Sebastian was FANTASTIC! Very patient with me as I went to the bathroom every 15min. with false alarm stomach issue. Small details like the covers for eyeglasses to putting a towel under my knees while giving a great massaging shampoo! Lots of compliments on color!

Yelp
RACHEL GRODEN. She's excellent!!! I really don't want to share her, but... Rachel took her time LISTENING to what I wanted. When she was clear, she showed me exactly how and where she would shape, cut, style and grow-out my hair:). She's easy sweet and personable:) I highly recommend sitting in her chair.

Yelp
Management doesn't know how to treat clients. I rarely post negative reviews, but I feel this one is needed. Today, I forgot to go to my 10:00 am appointment with my colorists at the Local Honey East location. This was about my 4th appointment at Local Honey. (Previously, I had gone to a different salon for 27 years with no problems.) The manager called me at 10:30 to ask if I was on the way. I said I forgot, I am so sorry, and I could be there in 20 minutes. (Note that the appointment is over 2 hours long.) She said not to come, the policy is a 15-minute grace period, and that she would be charging me $190 for the missed appointment. The problem I have is not about paying; it's about how rudely I was talked to. Read more: She said I had confirmed the appointment 3 days ago (They had sent me a reminder text 3 days ago that I responded to). I suggested that they send a 2nd text the day before to try to avoid missed appointments. She said the text 3 days ago was sufficient and was only a courtesy anyway. I asked to speak with my colorist, and she said no. (I wanted to ask my colorist directly if she could just do a small amount of color rather than the whole job and skip the styling, but the manager wouldn't even let me talk to her. It's their "policy".) If they want a good relationship with their customers, they should create policies to help the salon/client relationship and not destroy it like this. She also could have explained the charge in a nicer way and been even slightly receptive to my suggestion of sending a second reminder text closer to the appointment day. Instead she harped on the fact that the 3 day reminder was sufficient. The colorist there is exceptional and lovely. But there's no way I can go back there after the way the manager talked to me. So so sad.

Yelp
I've been going here the past 2.5 years and have loved every cut I've got! It has always been upscale while also homey. The space itself has felt beyond clean and well cared for. I do wish the price for a simple cut was less but I will happily pay it for the phenomenal job that's always done!

Yelp
Alex did a great job on my cut -- I am super loyal to hair dressers (my last I had for 7 years and followed to 2 salons!!) so I hope she stays here! Kind of hard to park during rush hour :)

Matthew S.

Yelp
I got a cut from Daniel and I'm super pleased with it. He has many years of experience, and it was obvious - he gave me the best cut I've had in Nashville, by far, since moving here in 2019. He listened to, understood, and executed exactly what I wanted. He's also just a super cool, interesting dude who is easy to talk to and made it a fun experience kicking it with him.

Macy R.

Yelp
Sebastian did a PHENOMENAL job on my hair! I booked a full highlight and it came out exactly how I wanted it to. His main priority, aside from making the client happy, is to protect hair health and integrity. He made me feel so comfortable and confident! He really took his time to make sure my hair looked perfect, which I appreciate. I will be coming back here next time I need a hair refresh!

Yelp
I came in looking to get rid of my dried bleached bits. I wanted to grow out my hair because everyone always tells me they prefer my long hair, but In my soul I know I'm a short-hair kind of girl! Sydney talked me through it and we decided on a super cute bob. She did an amazing job with the length, and I've gotten tons of compliments! It's perfect low maintenance so I can better survive the hot weather and our incoming baby!! I'm so glad she took the time to walk through it together instead of just "ok we'll take off the dry bits" and move on. I told her I was considering bangs, and she asked for a picture of my face to make sure it was a good fit for my face shape. I chose not to, just because I hate upkeep, but she's seriously committed to making sure her people get a good cut that's right for them. She was suuuuch a great listener. It was a breath of fresh air talking to a real human being after quarantine for like 5 months!! I love how she styled it with the little waves, very cute. I'm so glad the salon is so close to my house :)

Yelp
Daniel Dalecke gave me THE BEST haircut I have ever had. I have very curly hair and got bangs about two years ago. I really like my bangs but in general having curly hair I feel like I have only walked out of a haircut actually happy a handful of times. Normally it has to grow out a bit before I like it. But this haircut was AMAZING - I LOVED it the same day and the next day and days after. Multiple people complimented me on my hair and even ASKED me where I got my hair cut! I'm not exaggerating! I was desperate for a hair cut and my sister recommended Local Honey while I was visiting her in Nashville. I was only in town for the weekend and asked for whatever stylist was available. I am so lucky Daniel had just moved to Local Honey and had availability - that won't be the case for long! Daniel is amazing - so kind and funny and also SO TALENTED. I will be going to Nashville (from California!) to get Daniel to get my hair going forward..!

Yelp
Mikey is a very talented and knowledgeable stylist. Has been cutting my son's curly hair for 2 years. I would highly recommend him to anyone with curly hair. He's also super chill and made us feel very comfortable.

Yelp
I had no idea where to get my hair done after moving to Nashville from California. After a long look on Yelp, I chose Local Honey and I am so glad that I did. Making an appointment over the phone was easy and quick. Kayleigh was absolutely wonderful and did an incredible job. She did exactly what I asked for and was super professional. I will definitely be back soon and I can't recommend them enough!

Yelp
It's taken me three years, but I've finally found my place! And it was right down the street from me all along. Sydney is fantastic: she does a great job and is a joy to converse with. I'm very picky when it comes to my hair, yet I never know what to say, what I want done, etc. But thankfully, she does! Although it has no effect on the haircut, I really like the vibe inside. I feel like I've stepped back in time. Everyone is friendly, too, which makes a difference. I'll definitely be back!

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Rachel Jordan is wonderful..... she really listened to me and gave me a style that really shaped my face well. What a pro. I will be back.

Yelp
I was actually quite hesitant in posting this review, because I actually had an amazing first experience with Local Honey. The stylist I was with took the time and energy to really give me a full, thoughtful hairstyling experience. My haircut turned out incredibly lovely, and I was able to head out the door most days without a single product weighing down my locks. However, upon my second visit to this location, the stylist seemed to be in a bit of a rush. Perhaps she was overscheduled or she just thought it didn't matter what the final product of my hair looked like, but by the time she finished, my hair was...butchered to put it lightly. If I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt, I'd say she was just unfamiliar with cutting Asian hair. I asked specifically not to get any sort of triangle shape, and I warned I had a ton of full, medium-fine hair. She was so amicable that I immediately trusted her and thought nothing of it. I came out with exactly what I dreaded: a choppy cut with perhaps 2 distinct layers and a less than favorable shape. Please don't misunderstand - the conversation and attitude of my stylist were fantastic. However, if I'm going to shell out $50-60 on a haircut with wash and styling, I expect a certain level of skill that I don't feel like was achieved. I've taken the last three months to try and like this haircut. I've failed miserably. Worst than that, as a teacher, this haircut is solidified in the 2019-2020 school year for years to come. The ambiance is industrialist chic, your stylists will be dressed to the nine's. In terms of the cut though? Hit or miss.

Yelp
I had been seeing Dori and really liked her. But for my 2pm apt today I hit some traffic and showed up 15 minutes late. The receptionist told me Dori would not see me because she had another client coming in 5-10 minutes. I'm growing out a pixie, so my apt was for a touch up to basically trim my neckline. I went back to my car, but then came back in and asked if Dori could spend just 5-10 minutes or whatever time she had left just doing a quick trim on my neckline and nothing else. The receptionist went back in and asked, and came out saying no, because Dori had reserved 30 min for my apt and she needed that time to do the cut. But if she had just seen me when I showed up, she would have had 15 minutes. That's more than enough time to trim a neckline. So I got in my car and called another salon, made a last minute apt, and the wonderful stylist trimmed my neckline in all of 5 minutes. I know I was late and that's my bad. But I think it was unprofessional for Dori to not even come out to take a look at my hair and see if there was something she could do for me in that 15 minute window she had allotted for my cut. You guys lost a client today.

Yelp
I love love love Local Honey! I had given myself a bad box dye color job and needed it fixed and had no idea what to ask for or do. I had never had my hair color treated by a professional in my life. Sydney at the 8th street location took care of me, fixed my horrible dye job, and had my hair looking more shiny, glossy and healthy than ever before!! She took the time to explain what she was doing, it was so obvious she cared and she didn't make me feel like a dummy for my bad box dye. :) She has such a calming and fun presence, which was especially appreciated by me because I was nervous to have my hair colored. I have gone and will continue to go back to her because she's the best!

Yelp
Expensive, but worth every penny! Every stylist I've had here is so talented, and the products they use are the highest quality on the market.

Yelp
I have been needing a cut, in the worst way, and scheduled my 1st appointment with Bre. I brought her a few pictures, and told her how I wanted something that I was able to basically wash and go. She walked me through what she was going to do and away we went. She cut my hair, so that my natural flip and wave would air dry beautifully...without a ton of product. I was amazed at what a little bit of diffusing and some salt spray did for my hair! I literally thought it wasn't possible for my hair to get a wave like that. I have already scheduled my next appointment and can wait for Bre to work her hair magic, once again!

Yelp
Most people would not give a five star rating when their appointment is unexpectedly delayed by 45 minutes. But let me tell you WHY I AM. Firstly, Landon booked my appointment and was entirely attentive and sincere about this process. I was driving when I called and I said that I didn't have my card ready and he offered to put a temporary hold on that spot since it was in a few days. I called back as soon as I could and established my card to hold my appointment for that Friday. Friday comes and I arrive early because I thought, "if they close at 7, it would be good for me to get there early so my stylist can get out on time, or early." I walk in and they're playing some great soul music, it's well lit, has a very New York vibe, tile floors and exposed brick with silver accents, including the chairs. Loved it right away. Landon asks me what I'd like to drink and brings me the water I asked for and right away - Cory, the lovely stylist, walks up to me and looks apologetic. She proceeds to tell me that she had a client arrive an hour late and that she was nearing the end but apologized profusely. She said that she was going to give me a hair treatment while I waited, on the house. Wow. Good thing I didn't need to be anywhere after 7! I was about to be pampered. AND my hair felt amazing. The service over-all was so great. Cory, Landon, and the other stylists actually sat and chatted after they closed up and my haircut ended around 730. We ended up talking a lot. Cory didn't flinch one bit at anything that happened. A seasoned pro, if you ask me. Thank goodness for her! AND she fixed my mess of a mop. I had cut it myself over a month prior with dull scissors. Don't ask. It was a bad choice. We laughed a lot during the visit and I am certainly going back. What a gem. YOU MUST GO. Real people work here and they care. :)

Yelp
I've seen four different stylists at Local Honey, and all of them have been absolutely lovely! I highly recommend seeing Talia -- she stayed an hour past the store's closing to make sure everything was just right with a pretty significant color job. The staff as a whole is inviting, talented, and frankly, super cool.
google avatar

Brittney M.

Yelp
love this place! Always my go to. Taylor Rea is the best colorist I've ever had. The environment is comfortable and all of the staff is very accommodating.

Yelp
So here's the lowdown , Jack: if you grew up in the 80's or 90's - you'll likely have a nerd-gasam just walking into this place. From the video game system that plays Sega, Nintendo and Super Nintendo games that you can play while waiting, to the Star Wars memorabilia (including the Millennium Falcon rug) to the huge photos of stars from by-gone eras...it's a delight for my senses. But, more than that...what's REALLY important is a great quality haircut. I found that in Hunter. He used to be with another Barber Shop in town which is where I first got exposed to his talents. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the job he does. One of the things I have always been impressed by with him is that he takes his time. At places you go where you pay 10 bucks for a haircut - they really work on quantity. So, they turn them as fast as they can to get you in and out the door and on your way so the next person can sit down. And that is fine for some people. But, I like it when someone takes their time. They make sure my hairlines look good. You know, really take pride in their work. The real reason for my first trip to see Hunter was my beard. I had tried several times and ended up just shaving it all off or going with some sort of goatee type thing...but didn't care for that either. This last time that I was trying to grow a beard I started fresh with 'no shave November'. After about 2 months of growth... I tried and tried to make it look good but I always hated the way it looked. I tried shaping it and fixing it and nothing ever worked. So, I decided one day I would go into a barber shop and have someone make my beard look good and get a haircut while at it. Hunter did a fantastic job. My beard looked great. He told me what to do, how to keep it looking good and where to cut and shave between visits. For the first time, my beard looked awesome! I even started getting compliments on my beard - which I have NEVER had any time I ever tried to grow a beard. A few tips if you go: Reservations: Don't just 'stop in'. This place is already popular it seems. They had people come in while I was there asking for a haircut - but they couldn't fit them in as everyone was already booked for the day and for most of the rest of the week. So, yes - make an appointment! Arrive early : Nothing worse that making other people wait because you were late. And besides, if you come early - you'll get to play some Super Nintendo. I played 'Super Mario World' while I waited. Parking: There is a small parking lot beside the building in a gravel lot. The spaces are limited. So, another good reason to arrive early to make sure you get a place to park or can find a place on the street and walk to the building.

Yelp
Do NOT have Rachael do your hair!!!! I started with a full head of hair long wavy curls, brown with blonde balayage. All I wanted was a stylist that would be gentle on my hair. I stressed this in an extreme desperation to not do any damage to my hair. We had 3 separate appointments that I had expressed the extreme delicate-ness I needed for my hair. You see I have been damaged from bleach in the past. I am also a licensed hairdresser. I had no problem going lighter gradually knowing that's what it takes to preserve my hair health. 1st time I saw hr was just ok. Nothing great but no damage. Although I asked for balayage I was foiled. Second time some damage with terrible cut. Not what I asked for at all. I said I was growing it out to long layers so what did she do cut it into a shaggy mullet!! Wasn't cute. I actually had to stop her from cutting because she just kept chopping away at my hair. My mistake, I still went back knowing she will never take another pair of scissors to my hair. Well I tried to cancel on that same day and they were going to charge me $130 to cancel!! So I should have cancelled but went to get my hair fried. She slapped on the bleach left it on way longer than she should ha e , at least 50 to 60 minutes. And then there went my hair down the drain. I am awaiting the manager call back because I want my money refunded. So far the company is handling it very well. I will let you know the final results. Rachael needs to "Pay Attention to Details" ......!

Yelp
If I could frequent Brave Barber on a daily, as if it were a coffee shop or cool bar, this place would be my new favorite "spot" in Nashville. The vibe of awesomeness exudes so much personality as each station is unique to its own hair stylist. You are welcomed with friendly greetings and complimentary beverages from some of the most amazingly talented hair stylists Nashville has to offer. My first visit was their second day of being open; I entered Brave Barber with mangy locks of copper red, and left with a confident asymmetrical bob. My hair had been resurrected in a new way thanks to the one and only, A.J. Not only did she help boost my confidence level with my new do, but she made my husband look fifty shades of HOT with his new cut. If you are looking for a new hair color, A.J. is YOUR woman! She basically has hair colorist super powers--the best hair fairy in all the land! I highly recommend Brave Barber to any local Nashvillian or visitor to this amazing city. Nashville is lucky to Brave Barber contributing to the artistry of hair.

Yelp
Had the best time here. I actually went in on a rough day and the hair dresser made my day 10X better. I was a bit nervous walking in trying out a new place. I typically only get my hair cut in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but I've gotten to the point where I'm not willing to drive that far for a fresh cut. I have always had my hair long for fear of a short cut is pretty normal. My hair cut was not only phenomenal, but the hairdresser was so kind. Highly recommending going here especially if you want to try a new hair do.
google avatar

Yelp
Great stylist work here . My husbands favorite stylist is Alison she is licensed to use a razor. She's great at the hipster hair styles and she is licensed to use a razor. Which is a plus because she can do almost all hair cuts
google avatar

Yelp
I would give this place a 5 star rating if it weren't for the completely unnecessary price hike. Brave has some really great talent and reasonable prices for about a year. Recently they raised the prices while simultaneously cutting the included services. A mens cut once cost $28. It included a cut, wash, and style. They raised the price the price to $35 for the same services. When I inquired about the rise in price, they explained that they raised it because they can. The competition offers a cigar or drink and a much more ascetically pleasing environment for that price. No extra services or perks, but a higher price? Why? I'll keep going, until the price goes up again. Tipping used to be a given, but not after an offensive and unneeded hike.

Yelp
Best salon I've been to in Nashville. The staff is kind and very helpful. I highly recommend Rachel, she did an amazing job with my color. So happy to finally have a salon I can count on to do a good job with my hair. cannot recommend more highly

Yelp
My new go to salon! Sydney was so amazing. I have extremely thick hair and she handled it flawlessly. She was helpful with answering all my questions and was so friendly. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair. This will be my salon from now on!
google avatar

Yelp
Lindsay Beebe has been cutting my wavy, curly hair and also coloring it. She always does a more than excellent job. Nashville, you are SO LUCKY to have her.

Yelp
My daughter loves this place for her cut and style. The stylists are friendly. Cost was about $65.

Yelp
I tried Local Honey on 8th today for the first time and loved Melody. My hair was overly thinned out in spots and uneven from the last cut I had (around 6 months ago), and she worked wonders in getting it back to something presentable. She actually asked questions and waited for the answers, which should not be shocking but in my experience has rarely been the case with stylists. This has been the first time I've been really pleased with a cut since moving to Nashville. Very glad to have found them!

Yelp
I went to quite a few shops in Nashville until I finally made the right choice by stepping into Brave. All of the barbers are fantastic. Anthony, though, is my go to. 4 prior barbers couldn't get what I thought was a simple cut right. I showed Anthony a quick photo and then let him take the reins, he killed it. He really listens to you and has an immaculate attention to detail and really gives a fuck. Every cut thereafter has gotten better. If you can't get in with Anthony and are going for a clean fade/cut... go to Chris. That dude can skin-fade like a champion among men. The shop itself is a super rad environment and all of the barbers are pretty hilarious. It's all-in-all as good as a barber experience can get. If the private lot is taken, I've always parked in the dollar general lot without penalty. But proceed with caution.

Yelp
I get my hair done once, maybe twice a year now. I always treat myself for my birthday in the summer, and then for my sobriety milestone in the winter. I'm broke because #Pandemic but I heard nothing but good things about Local Honey so I saved up money and booked myself a haircut and balayage at the 8th Ave location since that's closest to my house. My experience: I asked for a simple haircut and a simple color. I showed my stylist several inpo hair pics of the color I wanted. I answered the stylist's questions about the last time my hair was colored. I left no information out. When she applied the color/foils, she checked them after a few minutes and didn't see any real change, so she kept them on longer. She went into the back and came back a while later and said she "almost forgot about me". When she went to rinse off my foils, she admitted that my hair turned orange. She tried to tone it down and the color got worse. I ended up with a silvery grey blonde color for highlights/balayage. I have dark brown hair. I was not pleased. I told her I didn't like it, and that if she needed to color correct that I would rather go back to my natural dark brown hair color instead of walk out with that. I get a quick trim. She said she had time for a color correction so we started another hair color process. Once my new hair color is on, she passes me off to an apprentice (who was very sweet) for a blowout. Apparently my apprentice wasn't allowed to give haircuts yet so I didn't get my cut finished. I basically got my natural hair color back and she asks how I like my new hair (I don't, it's the same as when I walked in!) but I just decide to leave because I had been there over 5 hours and I was upset. But I'm not the kind of person to cause a scene or call out anyone. I work in the service industry, I like to handle things with respect and dignity (and give feedback!) As soon as I get home, I email Local Honey my complaint and ask for a refund or re-do. No reply. I wait a few days. I message their IG. No reply. I message my stylist. No reply. I wait a few more days. I call their shop. No reply. I call again, a girl answers and I give her my complaint. She says she would need to talk to the stylist before booking a hair redo but then she would call me back. I said okay. SHE NEVER CALLED BACK. I waited until EOD and called them back. A much nicer lady answered and I will forever speak her praises (ELLIE YOU ARE AN ANGEL)! She took my complaint very serious and contacted her manager about it ASAP.... as you should! The manager contacted me the next morning and scheduled a redo with me. I thought my hair woes were finally gone. I arrive to my redo a few days later. I am aware that the same stylist has to do the hair again per their redo policy, but the manager was missing. Shouldn't managers be present for re-dos to ensure that the stylists don't mess up again? Or to supervise? Anything? Anyways. My stylist and I go over what I wanted AGAIN. And she recited back the exact details. I just wanted a shade lighter than my natural dark brown as a balayage with some layers and curtain bangs. We start the color process over and she even asks me to PICK OUT my hair color for my balayage from some samples. Love it. Gladly. The more direction I can give, the better. Let's make this fool proof. My old hair color is stripped (I think maybe that's the term?) and we get new color on. Y'all. When she started drying it, IT WAS THE SAME DARK COLOR AS MY NATURAL HAIR AND IT STILL LOOKED THE SAME. I can't even. I was like... what? Anyways. I stared at it a while, told her it was dark..... and she reassured me that it would lighten up after a few washes (lol). She started finishing up and then I realized she wasn't going to cut my hair after. So I reminded her to and she kinda of half-assed some curtain bangs (no layers). It felt like she didn't want me there any longer so I just said "cool" and left. I just overall..... feel like I paid $300 for bangs. I don't even have the patience or energy to deal with this anymore so I am eating the costs because if 3+ color corrections and consultations later doesn't fix my hair, then I have done what I can do to communicate what I want and it's on Local Honey. And I'm aware that because of coloring and chemical processes that hair color doesn't always do what you want it to do. I get that. Maybe it was my hair! (Doubt it). This is also not an attack on my stylist or their manager, they were both nice people, and I hope that they feel like I was kind to them. I just am very disappointed in Local Honey and their lack of communication, customer service and accountability for their work. Probably won't be going back. (I won't be)

Yelp
I don't like not knowing what I'm paying for. This may seem small to some, but after working in the service industry for YEARS, I tend to pay more attention to stuff like this. When it was time to pay, the girl at the from gave me the price of $140, to which I said "add 20%". Had the receipt emailed to me. When I looked at it after, I see this BS $15 charge for "green initiative fee & product fee". So really the charge was $125 that I should've tipped on? But I wasn't able to see what exactly I was being charged for in that moment. Why is there a product fee? green initiative? I felt kinda duped. It's not a huge amount of money, but shouldn't you be told what you're paying for? Or the breakdown atleast?

Yelp
Awesome, local, gritty barber shop. 80's & 90's decor with a chill laid back atmosphere. No over the top shampoos, facials, or massages here- just a DAMN GOOD HAIRCUT! Scheduled an appointment with Anthony. He is a true master of his craft and took his time giving me a stellar bald fade. Great conversation, some laughs, and in a no-rush fashion. Would recommend this Shop to anyone in Nashville looking for an AUTHENTIC experience into the way barber shops used to and should be.

Yelp
Everyone here is super friendly and professional! I have gotten so many compliments on my new haircut that I will continue going back. Also, if you refer a friend you get a $25 credit toward products.

Yelp
Local Honey is truly the best hair place in Nashville! The people are so kind and welcoming, and they are INCREDIBLE at hair! These people are seriously experts at all things hair-related! It is obvious that Local Honey takes many measures to ensure that their stylists are top notch and well-educated. The styles, colors, and cuts that are created in that salon are like no other. It feels like being in New York when I am there. Carly Rae Coady is my hairstylist and is so personal and kind. She does my hair exactly how I like it and has great ideas and suggestions that make me like my haircut even more. They have three locations in Nashville. I go to the East Nashville location and love it but haven't been to the other two locations (one on Belmont Blvd. right across from Belmont U and one on 8th Ave. S across from Zanie's). Please go give Local Honey a try!

Yelp
I was so relieved that Local Honey was open on a Sunday. I'd gotten a cut elsewhere that I wasn't comfortable with, and I needed some help to fix it. Sydney was amazing. After a consultation we agreed on a pixie, and I really love the cut. It's easy to style, has personality, and I couldn't be happier. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
First of all...this is the best shop in Cashville. They are brand new but not brand new at hair. They know their way around a head whether coned shaped or square. I see Hunter who is the Michael Jordan of barbers. Super friendly, down to earth southern guy. He always makes me feel as if we known each other for years, like we are family and that's what I love about Brave. Everybody is so nice and professional. There is no awkwardness ever. As far as haircuts they are bar none the best. The straight shave and beard trim are always done by hand, like I said they take their craft serious. So if you're in need of a cut whether male or female this place is the place to go. They don't mess around when it comes to making you beautiful, trust me I need the extra help to be made pretty.

Yelp
It's really hard to find a good and consistent barber here in Nashville. I've been bouncing around from salons to barbershops here in Nashville with no avail. I find someone good, and then they leave to go out of the state. Boo Hoo. I finally found a consistent and stellar barber who is able to handle my thick hair and style it the way that I ask for. That barbers name is Nick N. He takes his time with my hair. He does with everyone. He doesn't rush when he has a lot of clients waiting. If you want Nick to cut your hair you're going to have to wait, he's in high demand and he's good at what he does. He doesn't have the quickest hands in the hairy wild wild west, but he has some of the best in my opinion. If you need some styling tips. Nick is the guy. I've bought pomade that he's recommended and have received many compliments based on this change. If you need grooming tips for your beard gentlemen. Look to Nick, he will point you in the right direction. Nick is usually sporting a Zeus-like beard himself. Altogether, Brave Barbershop is a very nice spot with interesting memorabilia around each stylists corner, but I'll keep coming back so long as Nick N is there.

Yelp
I seriously thought I had reviewed this place already, but since I haven't, it seems about time that I did. I can't find enough good things to say about Brave Barbershop. It's in a very accessable part of town, has parallel parking right in front on the street, and also has a lot right next to the building with free parking as well. And worst case scenario, if the street and lot are both full, there's a side street a block north where you can park as well. For a person like me, Brave is like stepping into a fully safe and care free "geek-zone". Immediately upon entering, you'll notice Star Wars nostalgia everywhere, lots of personal flare at each barber's stations, and lots of old Hollywood Throwback pictures as well. Not only that, but they have a TV and a a 3-in-1 video game system that plays NES, Genesis, and Super NES games. So if you've got some extra time and want to have a little fun, show up early to get down on some Mario. And where else are you gonna go where you here Slayer, Minus The Bear, Eminem, and Rush all in a row on the stereo? Anyways, down to business. Personally, I'd be willing to bet every single barber here is amazing at their craft, but I'm a very picky person and go back to what I know and like. That being said, AJ is the only person I'll ever let cut my hair. Even if I'm on tour for 2 or 3 months and badly need a trim, I'll wait til I get home to let her do it. Not only does she do a great job, but she's great to talk to in the 30-45 minutes I'm in the chair, as well as everyone else that's in there as well. They have a wide range of hair products, and beard products, which is great for a guy like me. In fact, one of their beard products is made by one of their barbers in the shop, and is much better than a lot of other products I've used. I would absolutely, highly recommend Brave to anyone in need of a trim, color, or any other hair needs. Thanks to AJ, Josh, Hunter, Andi, and everyone else at Brave, you guys make it exciting to come and get a hair cut.

Yelp
Josh has been cutting my hair for the past few months and every cut has been better the last. He's super personable and gives real advice about direction of styling. Recommend 11/10 PS: I'm typing this as I'm watching the South Park episode about Yelp

Yelp
Always a great experience at LH. The salon is doing a fantastic job with covid precautions and I felt very comfortable during my visit. Everyone is so kind and professional- I always feel at home when I'm there.

Yelp
Simply, Brave is the best group of barbers I have experienced in Nashville. More than that, Nick N. has done an awesome job of working with me to not only give me the best haircut, but help me with new styles, making recommendations, and overall being patient with my incredibly picky preferences. The environment there is entertaining and relaxed. They have super nintendo and awesome retro feel all over the shop, and they are by far the best priced for the quality of service. If you live in Nashville, go to Brave Barber. Period.

Yelp
I have always had problems with finding a barber that actually cared about me as a person. I'm a 55 yr old male, and have been caring the parted "Preacher cut" most of my life, after the Beatles broke up! I decided to be Brave, and try something new, getting a cut that was cool, but still age appropriate. After talking with Hunter, he recommended that Bradley would be the best choice for me. Brad has cut my hair twice now and I have been pleased both times. What I really appreciate is, he suggested starting out slowly at first, and adjust each cut until we find the best look for me. So Be Brave! and try Brave for good, caring and professional service that you deserve.

Yelp
I'm almost speechless after the experience I had today at Brave. I feel like it's been an uphill battle trying to find a place with a good vibe but more importantly, a great haircut. I've lived in Nashville all my life and no other place is even close. After reading the comments on several different places, Brave had the best reviews and it sounded like Nick was the guy to ask for so I did. He was extremely patient, knew exactly what I wanted and took his time. It was great because I finally felt like someone actually cared. I can't believe I just paid $28 for the best haircut of my life. Moral of the story is if you need a haircut, go to Brave!

Yelp
I was recommended this place from someone who works at a different hair salon. Booked online for the first time and met Gina right on schedule. She hooked me up and did a fantastic job. Not to "hipster" and not to "corporate". Perfect actually. I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Note: I am still a little pissed they have the Ninja Turtles video game set on the most difficult level imaginable while you wait. Kinda demoralizing, but I'll be back!

Yelp
There is no need to look anywhere else in town to get a haircut. I'm a Nashville transplant originally from Ohio and have been in town for over 3 years now. I've been searching and searching for a reliable place to get cut with no success. I always left those places feeling unsatisfied, low on cash, and looking like trash. That all changed once I found Hunter and the crew at Brave! I come from a family of all hair dressers (no seriously my mom, aunt, and 3 cousins) So, getting a haircut was never an issue until I moved away from home. I could never find anyone who understood what it takes to do a GREAT CUT or knew hair well enough to style it. The difference between getting a "haircut" and a "GREAT CUT" is HUGE! Hunter and the crew at Brave have Mastered how to give a "GREAT CUT" and experience. Don't mess around with getting your hair chopped! If you want someone who will give you what you really want which is THE BEST HAIRCUT OF YOUR LIFE then go here! But call ahead at least a week. They book up FAST!
