What a fantastic experience at Locale! This place is definitely going to be one of my new go to spots in Monmouth County. It’s a truly family owned and operated restaurant, and you can feel that warmth the moment you walk in. The owners Joe and Tommy are incredibly welcoming and genuinely great people, the food is just the icing on the cake. Everything we had was absolutely phenomenal.

Every dish we indulged in exhibited an remarkable level of freshness; it was abundantly clear that they take exceptional pride in their choice of ingredients. We initiated our experience with a selection of wine, offering an impressive variety, and our attentive server proficiently assisted us in selecting the ideal red wine to complement our meal beautifully. We decided on meatballs as our appetizer, which consisted of three delicious servings, and they exceeded our expectations wonderfully! I opted for the pork chop, which undoubtedly ranks among the best I’ve ever tasted – perfectly crispy on the outside, succulent and juicy on the inside, complemented by a sauce that was decadent, refreshing, and bursting with flavor. In the end, we found ourselves sharing both dishes, as they were simply too good to keep to ourselves. The atmosphere at Locale is leisurely and inviting – are ideal backdrop for a laid-back dinner date or an enjoyable evening with friends. Without a doubt, I would make a return visit! Additionally, they have a bar area with seating and several televisions for added enjoyment.

Relatively new establishment offering great food in large portions in a quaint ambiance...wood and brick tones emphasize coziness. We enjoyed our meal at the bar. While dining, the owner was kind enough to check in on us. Small world...he used to own Cranford's (my home town) Calabria Pizza. Fine dining in a comfortable setting! Everything tasted super fresh — you can tell they really care about their ingredients. We started with some wine (good selection), and our server helped us pick a perfect red that went with our meal. We got meatballs for our appetizer, Came with 3 and they were very good!! I got the chicken parm and it was one of the best I’ve had!! — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the sauce was rich, fresh and flavorful. We also ordered gnocchi - soft and tossed in this creamy sauce that was totally addictive. We ended up sharing both. The vibe at Locale is relaxed — perfect for a casual date night or dinner with friends. I’ll definitely be back!! They also do have a bar with seats and a few TVs.

Locale never disappoints! Every dish I’ve tried has been full of flavor and beautifully presented. The cocktails are perfectly crafted, and the service is always warm and attentive. It’s one of those places where you can enjoy a relaxed night out yet still feel like you’re experiencing something special. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Locale tonight. Every dish was fresh, delicious, and a great portion. The drinks were amazing as well. The owners, manager, and wait staff were top notch and kept checking in on our drinks and meals with us. The vibe is top notch and we will be coming back for dinner here very soon ! my favorite dishes of the night were the linguine and clams And the pesto burrata. 5 stars and can’t wait to come back !

What an amazing place. The owner Joe was super friendly, came out to meet us to make sure we were having a good time. The food was excellent and I highly recommend it. Ambiance is also great. Just had a wonderful evening and am sure to return!!

Full disclosure...I went here not wanting to like this restaurant after reading too many reviews which seemed TGTBT. However, this was much better than expected and we will be going back. I drove by Locale for over a year while the building was being renovated and the owners have put together a really nice space. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and grabbed a drink at the bar. The menu has enough options without trying to be all things to all people with a good selection of starters, mains, and pastas. The wine list is solid with several reasonably priced options by the glass (the Montepulciano for $14 worked well with our food). Everyone raves about the chicken parm, but this is one of those dishes that I never order. It's not authentic and it is rarely well done. However, this was really, really good...not dried out with just enough cheese and sauce. The cavatelli with sausage and brocolli rabe was a nice compliment. Servings for both were generous for two to share and we brought nearly half of the chicken home. Service was very good...we never felt rushed, but from the time was sat until left was around an hour and Axel was great. The kitchen is quick, but it may have something to do with being seated at 5:30. Bonus for being a Resy restaurant where we can use our Amex Platinum credit. Will definitely be adding this to our rotation over the winter.

I've been meaning to try Locale and finally got the chance enjoy it last night! I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. First, you really need a reservation, the restaurant isn't that big and if the patio is not open, as it wasn't last night, you will have a wait. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming and we were never rushed. Giuseppe, the owner came by our table and introduced himself. He was very warm and friendly and made us feel special since it was our first time; a very nice touch. The meal started with a bread basket and delicious whipped ricotta. So nice to see that they didn't charge extra for that as many restaurants are doing these days. Everyone had adult beverages which were great... beer, wine and cocktails! The food was very good. Our table shared the caesar salad and meatball appetizer, which everyone loved. For entrees we had a nice variety, ravioli, spicy pasta, pork chop, veal parmigiana, (which was absolutely delish) and so big it took over the entire plate ! That dish alone will keep us coming back for more ! It was exceptional. My cappuccino was excellent and all in all a great restaurant that you can tell, Giuseppe takes a lot of care and pride in every ingredient he puts into every dish. We will definitely be back! Oh and sorry no pictures, too much good food and great conversation going on.

The food was very good loved the fresh bread and that whipped ricotta was amazing they put on the table. -The wait staff was wonderful and attentive -Bar type place - we all were not loving the very LOUD VIBE with/ high tops and regular tables around the bars inside. Also- outside enclosed heated porch ( November ) -VERY LOUD/ noisy!. Not a lot of ambience and we felt like we were more in a bar type place.

My wife and I went to a new restaurant tonight, Locale in Little Silver, and had an incredible dinner. Kelly had gazpacho and pesto gnocchi with shrimp. I had an appetizer of sweet Italian sausage and cannoli beans and chicken parm as my entree. Our waiter, Axel was knowledgeable and accommodating. We were both incredibly happy and as we told Giuseppe on the way out, we will be back!

I'm dropping a 5, though a true score is a 4.5 for me. Lovely room, well spaced tables, attentive staff, pristine restrooms. The food is well above most shore Italian joints. Carefully plated, tasty, nicely spaced courses. Not many places offer beef tartare, so I get it when I can. A nice tuna can sized cylinder of freshly, tender chopped beef mixed with mustard, capers-smear it on the toast and it's a mouthful of flavor. $28. My gf had the burrata panzanella and enjoyed it (ditch the black olive slices though), and her Bolognese pasta was terrific. My pizza was good too. Book well in advance, weekend fill fast!

This review is for take-out only. We opted for a take out to taste what all the hype is about. We had a margarita pizza, eggplant parmigiana and a Caesar salad. The pizza was good but didn't stand crisp when held ala the Dave Portnoy test. Still, it was tasty. The eggplant parmigiana was served with spaghetti- good. Onto the Caesar. When I checked the order, I saw what looked like a chopped salad w croutons and cherry tomatoes with a very small portion of dressing on the side. I questioned if this was a Caesar and the gentleman said yes but added more salad to the portion. If this is their version, it's WAY off. Hopefully the dine in will be better.

Located in Little Silver, Locale was Established in December 2024! Discovered Locale on my Instagram feed. Was in the area and stopped by for lunch! Fantastic ambiance! Hostess, every Servers and Bartender All greeted me with smiles! Cozy ambiance! Fire place was on. Rustic decor- love it! Ordered oven roasted sandwich: Prosciutto panuozzo with mozzarella and pesto! Bread was crispy! Pesto was delicious! Very generous portion- took half of sandwich and chips to go! Cappuccino- rich flavor, served piping hot! Which I love! My glass was filled with sparkling water by the Servers! Server Jesus was exceptional! Thank you Bar- cocktails, beer on tap and craft beers. Heard Hostess taking reservations- deposit required for reservation. Indoor and outdoor seating. Constant flow of customers! Parking on site! See you soon! Highly recommend!

After hearing and reading some good things about Locale we decided to give it a try and glad we did. They are very popular to say the least. Reservations were required several days in advance for an early seating at 5:30. We arrived just in a nick of time to find two seats at their cozy but small bar. The locals are supporting this place to the hilt. We met a few nice people and enjoyed a drink and conversation before we sat down at our table exactly on time. Overall, we were impressed with this restaurant. The ambience was really cool, the service was first class and most importantly the food was delicious. Please see my attached photos for a description of what we enjoyed for dinner. Bottom line__ Great addition to the Little Silver area and we will return again for sure.

Authentic Italian, from pizza to all pastas, lasagna of all kinds outstanding, generous portions, great variety Service friendly and attentive! Ambience very comfortable, just enough background sounds from upbeat crowd!

Food selection is authentic and varied as well as extremely well prepared. The staff are amazing they recognize us every time we arrive and treat us like good friends. The vibe is well... locale .. pun intended this place is a gem highly recommend

From the beginning I entered ,I felt at home.The whole crew on hand that works for Joe Jr.really know what they are doing. And the food is fresh and just what I wanted. The best by far.

The vibes weren't vibing Positives: The servers were very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 Negatives: We had a reservation for 5:30, arrived on time, and proceeded to watch four parties come in after us and get seated before us while we had to wait for them to "get a table ready". There were a few children running around unsupervised and screaming in the main dining room which was very much not the vibe. The tables and chairs were cramped and uncomfortable. I think it's also worth mentioning that the other customers were very rude- some guy pushed me out of the way to get into the restaurant which was super off putting. When we were finally seated, another party was seated right next to us a few minutes later and were helped/served well before us. 0/10 Conclusion: If you don't mind being in a super uncomfortable atmosphere then go for it. I would not say it's a top contender for date night. Maybe if you want a breakup/divorce. Godspeed.

We live next door to this restaurant. We love that little silver finally has a restaurant with a bar ! They can pour a proper pint of Guinness and their cocktails are delicious. The food has also been very good. Service great, too! It can be a little noisy, but the place is hopping.

Ordered food from this place ! Wow it was so bad I tossed the order! Heard good things but wow! Ravioli were so tough. The dough was over worked. Soup With lead tortellini. Zucchini bland tasteless. Pomodoro was horrible. Very very disappointing!

Not only do they add 3% for using a credit card, they also charge 3% if you use a debit card which takes the money from your account and sends it directly to their account. No processing fee! Thievery!!!

The food was outstanding...large portions. Service was also excellent. First time there (from Southern Ocean County) will definately go back

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Locale in Little Silver is hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to -- and I've been to many! Let's start with the food: everything is incredibly fresh, never frozen, and you can taste the difference. They source vegetables straight from their own garden, and their seafood comes in almost daily & it shows in every bite. The pizza is next-level! Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and topped with the freshest ingredients. The chicken parm? Absolutely massive and insanely delicious, easily enough for two people, and the sauce is what really makes it. You can tell it's homemade and crafted with love. Some must-tries: the octopus appetizer (so tender and flavorful it'll ruin all other octopus dishes for you), the burrata panzanella, and the cacio e pepe or spicy vodka pasta, both are absolutely amazing. Bonus: you can order side portions of pasta, which makes it easy to try a few and share! But it's not just the food that makes Locale so special. It's the people. The owner, Giuseppe treats you like family the moment you walk in the door. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The servers, Axel, Alphonse, Jesus, and others are so attentive, kind, and personable. If you come often enough, they'll even remember your name and favorite order. That level of care and consistency is rare. Locale is perfect for a cozy date night, a family dinner, or a celebration with friends. It's the kind of place that stays with you long after the meal is over. We always leave full, happy, and already planning our next visit. 10/10 recommend. This place is a true treasure!!!

We were a party of 2 dining on a Friday night. The interior is beautiful, but cramped and beyond loud. The service was friendly and attentive, but we waited for over 2 hours for our food to arrive. We were patient until they began to serve 2 other folks who came in after us, that needs to be better managed. The food was just ok, but was expecting better.

The only thing better than the food was the service~ shout out to our waiter, Axel. What an absolutely awesome and sweet guy! The food here was amazing and the ambiance indoors and outdoors was cute and comfortable! Definitely order the meatball appetizer, chicken parm entree to split and the desserts! Cocktails/ mock tails were also delish !

The service was fine but we felt rushed, as if they were eager to turn over our table. The food was decent, nothing particularly special/memorable. The indoor area was overcrowded and noisy, making conversation difficult. I would consider going back if I could sit on the patio, but I'm not in a hurry to go back there's so many amazing restaurants in the area I'd rather go to.

Very underwhelmed. Food was meidocre at best, basically overpriced bar food. Waiting forever on Wed night, just to get our wine. Server was very nice, not his fault, he was the only server for the outside.

Food was very good, both Apps and main course. Service was outstanding, very attentive, efficient, veery friendly with one of owners coming over and sitting with us. We loved the feel, look and total ambiance of the place. Will definitely return soon. Tom, Linda

Very disappointed in the food. Was expecting very tasty and flavorful food and frankly while the food looked amazing if I was to post pictures of the meals, it tasted mediocre at best. The service was fine and the server was very attentive with the water but the kitchen killed the server by having entrees come out for four of our group of five and it took a solid 7-10 minutes for the last meal to come out. Environment was great. Beautiful weather and we sat in the outdoor space. I would not return as the price does not match the quality of the meal.

NYC prices in Little Silver, NJ, - the chicken parm is $36, without a side. I didn't think it was anything special, premade overly breaded and dense chicken cutlets, smothered in red sauce. Also, I had a cold spot in my cutlet, they need to make sure their refrigerated premade cutlets are heated throughout before serving to customer's, and the dish certainly did not have a fresh quality about it. I suppose they think throwing a piece of basil on top gives it that Italian fresh from the garden experience. What they need to concentrate on is improving the food underneath the basil.

My husband and I finally made it here and so happy we did! The ambiance, was warm, cozy and vibrant with chatter. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was amazing! I am gluten free and they had some nice options. Reservations are a must for dinner, book a few days ahead to get the time slot you want. Looking forward to going back!

Service and ambiance are great but the food is meh and nothing special. The meatballs where to dense. One of our pork chop was undercooked and then when sent back was till undercooked. The restaurant did take the dish off our bill no questions asked.

Great spot and we will definitely be back! Was nice to sit outside on the deck. Food was very good. I highly recommend the chicken parm. The owner could not have been nicer. Excellent all around.

The young lady host was not welcoming and do not try to help us get a table. she was actually a deterrent and had a horrible attitude after we tried to explain we had been waiting 25 minutes to get a table and the website said it was 15 and she was gonna have us wait an additional 30 minutes. It doesn't make you feel good going into a restaurant where the hostess makes you not want to spend a single dollar at your establishment.

Excellent food, service, atmosphere. A little pricey but worth every penny. I will be returning.

Was looking forward to trying Locale. No reservation for 2 at 7PM on a Tuesday. We were seated in the outside area with a view of the Commercial Van parking lot. The one waiter assigned to the outside was being asked to cover too many (5-7) tables by himself although he was excellent. Our meal arrived within 5 minutes of ordering and beat the glasses of wine - we did not order apps. The food was good but very overpriced - $36 for pasta and bolognaise is outrageous. There are certainly kinks to iron out but once the newness wears off the pricing may be a problem.

This restaurant is overrated and overpriced. We did not have a good dining experience last night. While the waiters were very friendly and nice, I felt that being seated in the "overflow" room, i.e. the hot patio was not comfortable or as comfortable as it could have been in the dining room. My husband's octopus appetizer was tasty, my beef tartare was so bland that I took most of it home to re-season it by adding capers, cornichons, shallots and mustard, and make it tasty and edible. My husband ordered the salmon, and was asked how he wanted it cooked. He said medium-rate, it came fully cooked. I ordered the mussels, and was asked if I wanted the red (Marinara) or the white sauce (white wine and garlic). I said, "white", please, and got the red one. After sending the dish with the marinara sauce back, I got the one I ordered. I have never had mussels served on "the half shell". It is an interesting approach. There were too many mistakes for a restaurant with these high prices. I don't mind, and we never have, paying top dollars for excellent food, but the ambiance and the quality has to match the price. This is not the case at Locale. Sorry

Was so looking forward to dining here only to come away with another very overpriced restaurant with mediocre food at best. The menu left a lot to be desired. I wont be rushing back.
