Locanda le Piazze

Our favorite part of our one-week honeymoon in Italy! We truly wish we could have stayed longer. The food was excellent, the accommodations were beautiful, the staff was so friendly and the spa was absolutely lovely. Such a relaxing and quiet place — a little slice of heaven. Everything about our stay made it feel like the perfect escape. Highly recommend! We will be back as soon as we can :)

We recently stayed for 5 nights in the Locanda Le Piazze and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in their standard room, the “smallest”, but it was actually much bigger and much more than we expected – the room is beautiful and the patio is awesome. The compound is stunning, the pool very nice and the views are exceptional. But what we actually loved most were the people working there. The reception staff (Andrea and Dario in particular) is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. They were really helpful with all questions and always took time to chat a bit. The service staff was also always so attentive and nice and funny – we enjoyed breakfast and our various dinners (in the bistro twice and once Guido’s table). The food is outstanding and they made sure my special requests (vegan and gluten free) were not only accommodated, but also delivered outstanding meals – very creative, each evening something new and special – I cannot be more grateful for the efforts Guido and his team put into this. Plus Guido is a very nice guy and takes a lot of pride in serving outstanding meals. We also dined at the sister property – One Belvedere in QB Cucina (see separate review, truly outstanding!). There are also the sweetest cats living on the property – personally I think places who treat animals well are always full of good people. We also booked massages in the Spa (very well done) and rented the e-bikes to tour the neighboring villages and valleys (very well maintained). All in all – yes it is quite expensive but we’ve gotten so much more than we expected so I think it is very good value for the money you pay. We hope to return someday. Thanks to all the team for making our stay so memorable!

We absolutely loved our stay here!|The property is so pretty and very cozy. |It's very well decorated and well taken care of, and clean! All the staff was very helpful and friendly. The views are amazing! And, they have a wonderful chef because the food was VERY good. We are tough critics and thought the food was delicious. It's quiet and peaceful and has great Tuscan wine country vibes :)

I really loved our time at Locanda le Piazze. All the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, specially Sara, a fellow Brazilian. The place is so beautiful, it couldn’t be more perfect. The view, the architecture, the design … and our dinner there was fantastic! Would definitely come back many other times

We had the pleasure of staying 9 nights at Locanda Le Piazze, and it was truly a dream. The property is absolutely beautiful, with so much attention to detail in every corner – elegant, peaceful, and full of charm. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and exceptionally clean. The food was outstanding – we especially recommend the carbonara, which was a real highlight during our stay. What made our experience even more special was the incredibly warm and welcoming staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. We were also touched by how lovingly everyone treated our dog – it meant a lot to us and made the stay feel even more like home. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and unforgettable escape in the heart of Tuscany.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at Locanda Le Piazze, Castelina in Chianti in Italy. This was our 7th stay there since 2011. We fell in love at first sight with the property which was charming and rustic. In recent years, investment by a new owner has taken Le Piazze to a completely new level of quality on a world-class scale. Accommodation, restaurants and bar, pool, Spa and the landscaped grounds have reached a new high that makes the Locanda a very special place to stay. What stood out for us more than ever this year was the exceptional quality of the staff – covering every aspect of the hotel’s care of guests. Firstly, the staff to guest ratio is high and the consistency and sincerity of individuals in welcoming, engaging and looking after us was exceptional. This made our stay particularly special!

My expectations were exceeded at this small hotel.||The property is lovely and well thought out. I stayed in an executive room in the main building. It was on the second level. The room had a comfortable bed, desk and chair, mini fridge, ceiling fan, a/c and a large closet. The bathroom had a shower stall. The only disappointing thing was that my window was small, and I had to walk right up to it to look out at the view. (The executive with patio rooms looked like they had nice outdoor patios with views.)||The garden area with the pool has amazing views over the countryside. Being at the pool was quite pleasant after touring for the day. The grounds are very well kept.||The breakfast is a nice buffet. ||The dining area is very stylish and surrounded by glass windows that can be opened when the temperature is nice. Everything I ate at the Tavola di Guido restaurant was very good, but the menu is very limited (you choose from a 3 or 5-course set menu; there is no a la carte). Substitutions didn't seem to be appreciated. For instance, there was one item on the set menu that I didn't find appealing, so I asked for something simple like grilled vegetables as a substitute and was brought beef tartare instead.||The staff were all nice and friendly. You can visit many small towns of the Chianti region in 40 minutes or so. There is on-site parking that felt secure (in the countryside).

The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on!||Breakfast on the garden terrace was a daily highlight, with a fantastic selection of fresh, local products. The restaurant is an experience on its own, serving creative Tuscan cuisine that celebrates local flavors.||The pool with stunning views over the countryside is pure bliss—a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the region.||All in all, Locanda Le Piazze is the ultimate spot for living la dolce vita in Tuscany. I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone seeking authenticity, relaxation, and a touch of luxury.||Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay. I can’t wait to return!
