LOCANDA SAN BARNABA

We've stayed at this delightful hotel on two occasions, both for 4 nights. Once was in 2005 and the second time in 2014. We loved it so much that we wouldn't contemplate another hotel when we, hopefully, book for the third time for September 2019 when one of us celebrates a significant birthday! Its location is perfect in every respect and so close to one of the loveliest Campos. Rooms are beautiful and furnished as you'd expect in Venice, with elegance. Breakfast is fabulous and served, weather permitting, in the garden. Staff are extremely professional, efficient and pleasant. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and indeed friends of ours have enjoyed a stay there on our recommendation. We cannot wait to return. Peter and Nerys JONES.

I stayed here for four nights at the recommendation of a friend and was very pleased I did. As other reviews say, the staff are delightful and willingly respond to requests (like booking restaurants). Yes the breakfast choice is lovely and the location extremely convenient (steps from a vapparetto stop). My single room was, I thought, inexpensive and comfortable and there is the wonderful lounge on the first floor for a relaxing read if you want. Will certainly return when next in Venice.

Fabulous hotel. Had a last minute booking here of their single room which was available for a reasonable rate in terms of Venice hotel prices. Was a little noisy at times given the proximity to reception but not overly so. The lady on reception who took my booking was careful to mention this when I was booking too. Comfortable clean room and breakfast in the courtyard was delightful. Location is perfect for getting around to the main sightseeing spots and museums.

The hotel is in a renaissance palace from the 16th century, close to museums and sites but calm and relaxing. We had a wonderful experience, staff friendly and professional. Breakfast in lush garden patio just by a canal. Big lounge with murals and stylish furniture and secret door leading up to our rooms. We had a fantastic stay, way beyond our expectations.

We have stayed here 3 times and the rooms and service are great with a lovely breakfast too. Location is fabulous and we are really looking forward to returning next month. Will always try to stay here when we come to Venice!

Extremely convenient location, easy to find, very friendly and accommodating. Good prices for in-house drinks. Rooms are interestingly laid out; this is not a cookie-cutter hotel. Water pressure is great, with lots of REALLY hot water.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfasts, great location, comfortable and spacious rooms . We have stayed there several times and. will be so sorry if it has closed down.

This is a delightful place to stay in Venice. Charming rooms, excellent staff, very close to vaporetto stop. I can't recommend it highly enough.
