Locanda Santamarina Dimora di Charme was an absolute highlight of our trip to Sicily. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of downtown Palermo, just steps away from shops, restaurants, bars, and the lively nightlife. It’s also only about a 15-minute walk from the train station, which made getting around incredibly easy. What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding staff. I can confidently say they are the best hotel staff I have ever experienced anywhere. They go above and beyond in every possible way to make sure you have an amazing stay. On our last morning, we had an early train to catch, and they opened breakfast early just for us so we wouldn’t leave hungry. That level of care is rare and so appreciated. They were also incredibly warm and engaging with my son. He received a free toy at check-in, and he looked forward to seeing the staff every morning. Sophia, one of the receptionists, deserves a special shout-out for being especially wonderful! Breakfast each day was delightful, with friendly staff and plenty of options. The hotel also has a restaurant on the 4th floor that stays open until 11 pm and was very accommodating with dietary restrictions and even my son’s picky eating habits. Overall, staying at this hotel was a bright spot of our entire trip, and we truly cannot wait to come back. I highly recommend Locanda Santamarina Dimora di Charme to all travelers visiting Palermo. It’s a gem!

Our room was located in the third floor, the windows were directly lookng to the elevator, however if our room was a one looking to the street the same problem would exist as the street that the hotel is located is a very narrow one and there are walls as a view of the main entrance (the problem with the rooms are; there is a dark blackish stone floor that shows everything that fall and it does not give the feeling as it is clean, besides there are long and thick brownish curtains that adds to the darkening feeling). The location is not bad and very close to the city center. |The breakfast is ordinary, there are a lot of sweet pastries (we are 60+ and do not eat those) however only one kind of eggs (scrumbled and unfortunately burned in the 3 days of our 4 day stay), in a cheese place like Italy there were only two kinds of mature cheese (which you do not prefer at the breakfast, if you do not drink wine) and only ricotta in 2 days). |On the other hand the only nice thing at this hotel was the staff, they were really kind and helpful

We loved our stay at Locanda Santamarina, which apparently is recently under new management. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for throughout our visit. Their communication was always prompt and helpful and had fantastic attention to detail, which gave us peace of mind while traveling abroad. The historic setting was beautiful, the service was excellent, and they were even gracious enough to help us with follow-up questions after our stay. A true gem in the center of Palermo—highly recommended.

A very nice hotel. Very good location. And we were very much impressed by the reception team and especially Fredericho who was helping with practically everything. Upon noticing that we’ve got a lot of luggage he helped to get a bigger room so that it was more convenient for us. We are very thankful to him and his attitude to work.

Exceptional central location - all major sites are easily walkable - very helpful and friendly staff - rooms are clean and comfortable (within the limits of Palermo's medieval plumbing) - and a delightful rooftop bar.

We had an excellent stay! Breakfast was good and central location. When my wife left her perfume behind they went above and beyond with service and sent it to our next hotel. Highly recommend!

We stayed 2 nights in the two bedrooms family suite. We enjoyed the jacuzzi which was a true delight (with a cocktail 🍸). The restaurant is probably one of the best in Palermo. The room is incredibly large and comfortable. Everybody is extremely careful. A true luxury moment!

Everything was perfect! Lovely staff, great attention to details, comfy rooms, delicious breakfast, amazing rooftop bar with a great view, especially at sunset. Everyone was very kind and helpful. If I’m in Palermo again, I’ll definitely be back.
