Locanda Sotto Gli Archi - Albergo Sextantio

We had a lovely meal here during our stay in Sextano. Great to know that it is all locally produced. Good pasta dishes and wine paired well with it.

It’s a nice cosy place to be in. The food is slightly above average. But the service is great. There are tables with a view as well.

Amazing food made with ingredients from the Abruzzo region which the Locanda Sotto Gli Archi takes pride in using. The staff are all very friendly and work hard to ensure the restaurant has great food for breakfast lunch and dinner along with good hours. Each dish we tried was so unique and flavorful! This is a special part of staying at the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso in Santo Steffano di Sessanio.

The atmosphere is great! We had an amazing dinner, even if service is not the friendliest. Good wine selection, even if a bit priced. Food was really good from starter to dessert. ✅

It was just okay. The setting is beautiful but the food, unfortunately, is mediocre. Essentially, you're paying for the atmosphere. The restaurant does have a lovely interior with a mix of the modern and rustic medieval, with heavy wooden beams and tables and whitewashed stone. The service was prompt and the waitress was very cordial. But the food was disappointing, especially considering the price, which is very expensive for this part of Italy. For just a primo, contorno and a glass of wine, I paid €30. The pasta I had was cooked reasonably well but it was a bit oversalted and one note, and I was bored after a few bites. The side dish of "wild grass" was bitter and underseasoned. The salad was just lettuce with a single sliced plum. Even the bread wasn't great, overly dry. Maybe I simply got unlucky with my choices and the atmosphere is very beautiful, but overall I was disappointed.

Average food. Planned a special dinner that was supposed to be in private beautiful setting, with private waiter and some authentic local cuisine. First they forgot to setup the private room and rushed to put something together (as you can see from picture not something I would call romantic), waiter was the same one who served everyone else and food was mediocre at best. Save you money and just eat just at the main restaurant or perhaps another place in town. La bettola was quite good!

Stayed at the Albergo diffuso hotel. Hotel was fabulous. This is their restaurant. Breakfast is quite nice there. But they sell a fixed menu dinner of 4 courses when you book that we hoped would be amazing. It was our least interesting meal in Italy. And twice as much as elsewhere. There are other great dinner places in town.
